Objectives: Apical prolapse involves the upper vagina or vaginal vault after hysterectomy. Treatment is indicated for symptomatic women, and surgical approach is considered for women who failed or refused conservative therapy. We performed 10 pickups of autologous fascia, used for robotic sacrocolpopexy (RSCP). Materials and Methods: We included patients between 60 and 80 years old who showed a Pelvic Organ Prolapse Quantification (POP-q) over the second stage and with symptoms related to prolapse. Results: All of them underwent autologous fascia lata (AFL) pickup from the right leg and after to RSCP. One patient underwent also posterior colporrhaphy. The mean intraoperative time was 199.2 min (183–230 min). No intra-operatory complications were reported. POP-q assessment during follow-up showed improvements: C point gained on average 7.6 points (5–8) and mean values went from −0.6 to − 8.2 cm (−7 to −9 cm). The three women who had anterior compartment defects shows good anatomical reconstitution with a mean Aa and Ba value of − 2.83 cm (−2.5 to −3 cm) and gained 4 points (average gain: 3.5–4.5 cm). Total vaginal lenght (TVL). Conclusion: According to these data, in our experience, AFL employment showed a good anatomical result from the first to last follow-up.

In active volcanic systems, the elevated pressurization of fluids and the movement of molten materials influence the stress state and mechanical behavior of rocks, but the direct measurement of these processes and the related evolution of rocks properties is difficult. By studying seismic velocity variations, we quantify the physical changes in rocks induced by long‐term volcanic deformation and the dynamic changes associated with the 2017 Casamicciola earthquake (Mw 3.9) in the active volcanic complex of Ischia Island, Italy. Our study reveals a significant dynamic velocity reduction (∼0.2%), primarily due to near‐surface damage, with a permanent drop linked to documented landslides and subsidence observed immediately after the earthquake. We also identified a positive long‐term linear trend in velocity variations, indicative of a generalized contraction of the Ischia Caldera, as revealed by geodetic modeling. Our results suggest a depressurization of the shallow hydrothermal system through degassing along faults or sills. Plain Language Summary: Volcanic systems are influenced by a variety of complex and rapid processes, including significant temperature variations, intricate stress patterns, and changes in fluid pressure. In our study, we used seismic wave velocity measurements from ambient noise recordings and GPS data to show that seismic velocity changes are highly sensitive to depressurization, ground shaking, and damage levels. These changes reflect the pressure levels of hydrothermal and magmatic fluids in volcanic regions. Our results indicate varied shallow degassing, mainly in the northern part of the island, and lower effective stress in the southern part, where there is higher geothermal activity and highly pressurized fluids. While GPS data provide surface measurements, seismic velocity variations offer insights into the Earth's crust. Together, these measurements help us understand deformation processes at different depths, which is crucial for monitoring volcanic activity. Understanding under which physical conditions large earthquakes begin, is a key question in Earth science. Laboratory experiments and numerical models have shown that earthquake nucleation has distinct phases: a quasi‐static and an acceleration stage, followed by dynamic propagation. However, obtaining observations of such or similar processes in nature is complex. Here, we report on the rupture initiation of the Mw 6.1 2009 L'Aquila earthquake. From the detailed analysis of seismic waves recorded at several stations, we identify an ∼0.6‐s signal preceding the large dynamic rupture. From the geometrical characterization and rupture parameters of this initial phase, we infer that the rupture struggled to initiate exhibiting a slow rupture velocity (Vr=0.9±0.2 $Vr=0.9\pm 0.2$ km/s) and low seismic efficiency (η=0.24 $\eta =0.24$) due to a complex environment in the region where the rupture starts. We also show that the parameters of the rupture initiation are representative of scale‐dependent quantities for slip‐dependent nucleation models. Plain Language Summary: Understanding the process leading to a large earthquake is a key question in Earth science with implications for earthquake prediction and risk assessment. Although results from laboratory experiments and numerical simulations show that earthquake nucleation is composed of several preliminary stages, these stages and the associated processes are very difficult to observe in natural earthquakes. In this work we study the Mw 6.1 2009 L'Aquila earthquake, and show that it started with a slow rupture, where most of the energy was used to propagate the rupture. Our results show that the rupture struggled to initiate, and it did it slowly probably due to the conditions in which it starts. In addition, our results show similarities with previous work done for earthquakes in different regions of the world and also using theoretical models.
