The paper analyses whether the type of institution from which students graduate has an impact on their unemployment propensity. It uses official data on the Portuguese higher education system, for 2018, at the program/institution level, which provides information on graduate unemployment, as well as demographic and socioeconomic background information. A fractional probit model on graduates' propensity for unemployment is estimated. Results suggest that polytechnic graduates face higher unemployment propensity than university graduates, maintaining inequalities present in students' previous trajectories. Policies targeting socioeconomic segregation need to address not only access to higher education but also the transition to the labor market. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper explores the reliability of an instrument to evaluate digital competencies domain and elements for polytechnics' information technology (IT) graduates in Malaysia towards future industrial revolution using exploratory factor analysis (EFA). This study thereby obtained 146 items from the previous phase (industries experts' interview) which was later developed according to the study's objectives. Experts validated the items, and after that, a pilot study was executed with 102 randomly chosen Polytechnics' IT lecturers from four Malaysian Polytechnics as the respondents for this study. Four domains had been decided which are Personal Effective Competencies, Functional Competencies, Essential Competencies, and Industrial Revolution 4.0 (4IR) Competencies. Elements for each domain were created using the EFA, in which internal reliability was achieved for all construct dimensions. There were 15 elements gained through EFA for those four domains. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect size of the blended learning design on increasing the Mathematical Problem-Solving Ability of polytechnic education students during the covid 19 pandemic. The study was carried out at the Bali State Polytechnic (BSP), using a mastery-experimental approach, with a pre-test post-test design of non-equivalent control. design groups. The subjects are students in the engineering field of BSP in 2020/2021. Samples were taken purposively as many as 10 classes and divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected using a mathematical ability test developed by the researcher. The level of validity is between 0.31 and 0.89, the reliability is 0.97, the average difficulty level is 0.41 and the discriminatory power index is between 0.25 to 0.75. Data were analyzed using t test, paired t test and N-Gain score. There is a significant difference between the average mathematical problem solving ability of students taught using the blended learning model and being taught using the full e-learning model. The blended learning model is more effective in improving mathematical problem solving abilities than the full e learning model. The effect size is very large on increasing mathematical solving abilities in learning using blended learning. The implication is that the optimal application of the blended learning design in polytechnic education during the covid 19 pandemic, the learning process becomes more effective and succeeds in improving students' mathematical problem solving abilities.

The January 2022 edition of webometric ranking placed Yaba College of Technology as number one from 152 polytechnics in Nigeria. The ranking weight is 66 for country ranking, 8162 world ranking, Impact, Openness, and Excellence of 9698, 4558, and 7190 respectively. The negative variation and low webometric ranking of Yaba College of Technology that happened to be the first higher institution of learning in Nigeria with the slogan the first and still the best is a point of concern and motivates this research work. This research work collected data to evaluate the indicators for webometric ranking among the students and staff of Yaba College of Technology, a total of 346 were sampled students 44.51 % and Staff 55.49 %. The discussion and analysis of data obtained revealed that the poor webometric ranking is due to inadequacy of the necessary ICT infrastructure to encourage robust web presence; non-availability of up-to-date and scanty content on the Polytechnics website; Non-frequent usage of the Polytechnic website by the staff and students of the Polytechnic; the inadequate number of external networks (subnets) links with Polytechnic website; insufficient number of the top-cited publications in high impact Journals from the staff of the Yaba College of Technology; and Scanty number of the profile of staff from the Polytechnic on Google Scholar and ResearchGate, etc. among others. This research work opined that low webometric ranking could result in the following negative impact on the polytechnics lowering the esteem of the Polytechnic in the eyes of stakeholders, potential students and funding agencies, academic exchange with reputable institutions from other parts of the world for teaching, learning and research may writhe. The consequence of our findings recommendations was made to improve webometric ranking in future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article examines the history of establishment of the Kharkiv Practical Technological Institute in the broad context of modernization processes. The history of the Practical Technological Institute in Kharkiv is considered in the context of socio-economic changes in the South of the Russian Empire, primarily in the "Ukrainian provinces", in the last third of XIX – early XX centuries. The methodological basis of the article is the modernization approach. Changes that took place in the Russian Empire in the last third of the XIX – early XX century are considered as a modernization movement. Modernization is understood as a complex number of transformations that society is undergoing on the path of development from traditional agricultural to urban and industrial. We proceed from the fact that modern society of that time was aware of the speed of industrial production, the need for qualified engineering personnel. The training of such personnel required the opening of local higher education institutions. The processes of industrialization, migration and urbanization, due to the modernization theory, were the main components of social development in the XIX century. The approach chosen by the authors allowed to analyze the formation of higher technical institutions in the Russian Empire, on the example of the Kharkiv Practical Institute of Technology, within these changes. The approach within the new imperial history enabled us to take into account the socio-political subtext of the situation and the decisions that contributed to the establishment of technical universities in the south of the empire. An important aspect of our article is the European context. We investigated the general tendencies of opening similar to Kharkiv educational institutions. We can see certain commonalities, which allows us to explore the problem more deeply. We came to the conclusion that, the emergence of a higher technical educational institution ‒ Kharkiv Practical Technological Institute, in Kharkiv was due to the demand of local elites, which was met by the highest bureaucracy of St. Petersburg, as well as the situation in the city itself. This compromise did not cancel the rivalry, both at the highest bureaucratic level – the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of National Education, and at the regional level, in particular Kharkiv university elite and the inspirers of the idea of a separate technical institution.

Quality assurance practices are input, process and output systems that are put in place by school administrators in order to ensure academic standards. It is on this premise that this study examined quality assurance practices as determinants of academic staff effectiveness. The study population consists of 6,577 academic staff in South-west Nigerian Polytechnics. Stratified and random sampling techniques were used to select 327 academic staff. An adapted instrument titled "Quality Assurance Practices Questionnaire" (QAPQ) and "Academic Staff Effectiveness Questionnaire" (ASEQ) were used to collect relevant data. Data collected were analysed using percentage and correlation methods. Findings indicate several quality assurance practices, which include quality assurance in recruitment of lecturers, staff supervision, capacity building, and library services. Also, the study revealed a significant relationship between quality assurance practices and academic staff effectiveness. Specifically, it was found that ensuring quality assurance in recruitment of lecturers is a determinant of academic staff effectiveness. Similarly, quality assurance in library services is a key determinant of academic staff effectiveness. Based on the findings of the study, it can be said that quality assurance practices had great influence on academic staff effectiveness as revealed in the study and that the predominantly used quality assurance practice among Polytechnics management in South-west Nigerian Polytechnics was library services. The study recommends that management of polytechnics should sustain the optimal utilization of quality assurance practices, to boost institutional effectiveness. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Librarians at Saskatchewan Polytechnic developed an online information literacy course, created through interdepartmental collaboration, to be completed by new faculty as part of the Adult Teaching and Learning program. Changes to the academic model coupled with mandatory assessment of program development necessitated a major revision of the introductory course, transitioning to a blended learning methodology. As part of this revision, librarians were asked to create an online course to replace some of the content that was formerly offered in face-to-face sessions. Librarians began with the creation of an instructional plan using Bloom’s Taxonomy, learning outcomes, learning steps, and assessments to create an interactive introduction to research and writing. After implementation, the librarians assessed the blended learning approach. The online course content was adjusted and it continues to be reviewed and revised based on participant feedback. The overall process for the development of this online course can be used as an example to guide other librarians’ online delivery of information literacy creating authentic learning experiences.

There is no doubt about the fact that information and communication technology utilisation (ICT) is a life wire of any school organisation. However, planners and administrators are aware of the contributions that ICT utilisation could make to the enhancement of academic activities of the institutions. The attainment of the goals and objectives of higher institutions of learning required the availability and optimal utilisation of ICT. Based on the foregoing premise, this study examined ICT utilisation as a veritable tool for academic staff effectiveness in Nigerian Polytechnics. The concept and importance of ICT utilisation were critically examined. Challenges associated with ICT utilisation were highlighted, which include unsteady power supply, inadequate funding, poor quality of telecommunication connections, and lack of qualified ICT operators. The study concluded that the contribution of ICT utilisation to the development of entire level of education today make it necessary for the adoption of ICT utilisation by the school authorities, administrators as well as the lecturers in such a way that it easier for the utilisation of application packages (like power point presentation, Microsoft word process, spread sheet and so on), internet application (video conferencing, e-mail, data base, e-learning) and computer hardware facilities (photo copier machine, printing machine, scanners, laptops to mention but a few). This helps to improve the quality of teaching-learning process, academic and administrative effectiveness in institutions. Also, the technological devices of an institution are a major determinant factor in the actualisation of its objectives. The study recommends that proper funding should be provided for the procurement of ICT devices and equipment which are capital intensive. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

JOURNALISM ,SERVICE industries ,COLLEGE curriculum ,CREATIVE thinking - Abstract
The term 'Creative Practice as Research' is now in common usage in the tertiary sector, although it is relatively new in its inception. This article traces the rise of the term (and its variations), which emerged about the same time as the tertiary auditing processes, such as Aotearoa New Zealand's Performance-Based Research Fund (PBRF). But creative practitioners had already been sneaking production into the traditional university, at times facing resistance and even derision from scholars undertaking more conventional research within the arts, humanities and social science departments. The author argues that the term Creative Practice as Research, and the many practices under its umbrella such as journalism, is now widely accepted, in part because it has been convenient, fulfilling particular needs within a changing tertiary landscape. Its greater acceptance allows traditional universities to respond to student demand for skills-based learning without losing their reputation for research excellence. But the term also suits the former polytechnics, or 'new universities', that are eager to imbue their craft and technical teaching history and practice with richer research content. Drawing on a new wave of 'production studies', the article also explores how a specific instance of Creative Practice, the documentary, does indeed fulfil the requirement of research as articulated through other academic disciplines such as the social sciences. Furthermore, documentary and other creative practices can contribute to 'impact', an increasingly important metric deployed in the assessment of research within the tertiary sector. Polytechnic libraries are established to provide quality information services in support of teaching and research for academic staff members as well as acquisition of knowledge of students. The study was carried out for the purpose of determining the relationship between organizational commitment and staff performance in State Polytechnic libraries in North Central, Nigeria. A correlation survey design was used in the study. The study population comprised of 108 staff (Librarians, Library Officers and Administrative staff). Since the population is not too large to manage, there was no sampling. Questionnaire and interview were used for data collection. Out of the 108 copies of questionnaire distributed, 94 copies giving a response rate of 87%, were returned and used for data analysis. The data collected were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Coefficient for answering research question 2, while mean and standard deviation were used to answer questions 1, 3 and 4. The responses from the interview were analyzed qualitatively while regression analysis was used to test the two null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that there is a moderate relationship between organizational commitment and staff performance in the state polytechnic libraries in North Central, Nigeria, with a correlation coefficient(r) of 0.638. The study also revealed that the problems that militate against staff performance in the state polytechnic libraries include, among others, unfavourable management techniques and practices, etc. The study recommended the provision of adequate working tools and materials, favourable staff development programmes and bridging of communication gap between the leaders and staff, etc. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this paper is to present results of empirical research on regional orientation and engagement of Croatian higher education institutions (HEIs). The second goal is to research if there is any difference between Croatian universities and polytechnics in their regional focus. Contribution to regional economic, social and cultural development of a region is a recent mission that is, in addition to education and research, imposed on HEIs. With the establishment of public polytechnics across the country, the Republic of Croatia has adopted a new mission of HEIs, and has established them with the aim of contributing to regional development. Such institutions should, in comparison to universities, be more regionally oriented, i.e. offer study programs and research needed by the regional industry. Since the differences between universities and vocational studies are not clearly defined by the law in Croatia, referred orientation should be a component of distinction. For the purposes of this paper, a sample of Croatian public university constituents and polytechnics was defined. A questionnaire was drafted and sent to the relevant persons at the HEIs. Research results and statistical tests indicate that there is no statistically significant difference in regional orientation and engagement between universities and polytechnics. Further research in this area will seek to contribute to raising awareness of the HEIs and of the economic policy carriers regarding the differentiation of the HEIs and to encourage the implementation of the regional mission of Croatian polytechnics, particularly through external evaluation.

The study titled suitability of Office Technology and Management Graduates as perceived by employers of labour in polytechnics within the North Eastern Nigeria was conducted to determine the suitability of Office Technology and Management graduates in today’s office. The study was necessary in order to find out the perception of employers of labour on how suitable OTM graduates are in today’s office. Two research questions and one null hypothesis guided the study. Descriptive survey research design was adopted. The population of the study was 330 employers of labour from polytechnics within north eastern Nigeria. 20 items structured questionnaire on a 4-point rating scale was used to draw data from respondents. The questionnaire was validated by three experts. Cronbach alpha reliability was used to test the reliability of the instrument and the coefficient was 0.89 showing that the instrument was highly reliable. The instrument was administered by the researchers and research assistants. Total number of 353 questionnaires were distributed, while 330 were retrieved constituting about 94% of the distributed questionnaires. Mean and Standard deviation were used to answer the research questions and t-test was used to test the null hypothesis, at 0.05 level of significance. The findings of the study revealed among others that employers of labour perceived that OTM graduates with sub-listed cognitive skills were suitable for today’s world of work and these skills are what make OTM graduates to really display the real image of the organization. There was no significant difference in the opinions of more experienced and less experienced employers of labour and the opinions of employers of labour from federal polytechnics and their counterparts from the state polytechnics in North Eastern Nigeria, therefore the null hypothesis was accepted because the null hypothesis t-cals was less than t-table values. It was recommended among others that employers of labour in polytechnics within North Eastern Nigeria should list out suitable skills they perceived suitable for OTM graduates. If this is done, OTM graduates in polytechnics within North Eastern Nigeria will work towards that and thus be ready to cope with the routine office tasks. Institutional support ,Nigeria ,Polytechnics ,LIS students ,Online Discussion Forum - Abstract
Online discussion forum (ODF) as an effective pedagogical tool for learning and knowledge construction, designed to make the learning process robust and all-encompassing. It is also expected to facilitate faster and smooth access to learning aid and for individualisation of learning. In spite of its enormous benefits, previous studies have shown that students do not make use of ODF as expected due to factors largely attributed to low level of awareness and perception without recourse to the role of institutional support. Institutional support is expected to motivate the students to be highly engaged in their learning process, this study, therefore, investigated institutional support for ODF use among Library and Information Science (LIS) students in selected Nigeria Polytechnics. Technology Organisation Environment Theory (TOE) (Fleischer, 1990), Media System Dependency (MSD) (Ball-Rokeach and Defleur, 1976) and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) (Davis, 1989) provided the framework, while the descriptive survey design of correlational type was used. The population comprised all ND II LIS students in eight Nigerian polytechnics offering LIS as a course. Six hundred and thirteen (613) students were enumerated in the eight polytechnics in Southwestern, Nigeria. The instrument used were ODF (α = 0.87), Institutional support (α = 0.91). Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment Correlation. The majority of the respondents were males (53.4%) while most of the students were found within the age brackets of 21-25 years (44.6%) with a mean age of 22.8+/-1.05. Google Answers Box (𝑥̅= 1.86) and Experts-Exchange (𝑥̅= 1.52) were the mostly used ODF by the students but with low frequency of use (𝑥̅= 2.48). Further, Institutional supports provided were moderate, technical support (𝑥̅= 2.84) and low Infrastructure (𝑥̅= 2.47). Institutional support is an influencer of online discussion forum use among LIS students in polytechnics. Government and polytechnic authorities should take cognisance of these factors particularly institutional use for optimal and efficient use of ODF.

We examine the relationship between higher education institutions (HEIs) and local population and employment growth, using a sample of fifty-seven New Zealand territorial local authorities between 1986 and 2013. We account for HEI endogeneity by estimating with difference generalized method of moments; by including lagged growth plus a large set of other controls; and by including official demographic projections to account for growth-related factors, including university student numbers, which were projected by official statisticians but are otherwise unobservable to the econometrician. Holding all else equal, we find that a greater share of university equivalent full-time students (EFTS) to working-age population raises population and employment growth. At the means, a one percentage point increase in the university EFTS share is associated with a 0.19 (0.14) percentage point increase in the annual average population (employment) growth rate. This (significant) relationship holds under virtually all alternative specifications, including different HEI activity definitions, samples, and specifications. Growth related to polytechnic activity is much weaker and is estimated far less precisely. Consistent with urbanization (but not localization) externalities, we find no evidence for complementarities between HEI activity and several innovation-related area characteristics, possibly reflecting the primary industry base of New Zealand. This paper explores issues and challenges in the adoption of e-learning in hospitality education, with special reference to Singapore. Hospitality being a ‘high-touch’ profession and many hospitality related skills being largely intangible, there has been significant industry resistance in technology adoption. There has been concerns from multiple stakeholder groups as to how effectively can technologies compensate for the loss of social context of traditional hands-on learning. However, in Singapore, some polytechnic based schools have practically demonstrated the ways by which technology could be meaningfully integrated into hospitality education.

The consequence of our findings recommendations was made to improve webometric ranking in future.,

Purpose: This study aims to explore the alignment between strategic plans of the Portuguese public higher education institutions (HEIs) and their perception of the integration of sustainability in education and curricula. Design/methodology/approach: The strategic plans from 15 institutions were selected for content analysis; data about the integration of sustainability in education and curricula, from these HEI, were collected with an online questionnaire (self-report survey). Qualitative and quantitative analyses were performed. Findings: Strategic plans of the Portuguese public HEIs seem to not be sufficiently aligned with self-assessment integration of sustainability in education and curricula. Research limitations/implications: The classifications used in the content analysis were constructed and revised by the authors to reduce coder interpretation issues and subsequent bias in the results. However, some subjectivity could remain. The analysis of strategic plans and self-report surveys answered by top management, or a technician, does not assess the practices and sustainability implementation in education and curricula. Practical implications: This study allows the self-report of already-implemented practices to be compared to the planned strategy of HEI governance in Portugal as stated in their strategic plans. Originality/value: An analysis and respective insights on the lack of connection between strategic planning and self-report practices about sustainability implementation, using Portugal as a case study. publishersversion published

This study assessed the quality of the websites of Nigerian polytechnics and colleges of education. Using two web diagnostic tools, SEOptimer and W3C Markup Validation Service, a total of 213 sites were evaluated in terms of six performance indicators: search engine optimisation (SEO), usability, operational performance, social media integration, security, and HTML validation. The weakest performance across the sites of both polytechnics and colleges of education was found to be with respect to social media integration, with the vast majority of sites in both categories making no use of social media. The other two indicators against which sites in both categories of institutions tended to perform poorly were SEO and operational performance. The two areas where the sites in both institutional categories generally scored well were usability and HTML validation. Meanwhile, for the security indicator, the performance was highly variable among both polytechnic and college of education sites, with significant numbers of both strong and weak scores for sites. It was also found that polytechnic sites outperformed college of education sites on SEO to a statistically significant degree (bearing in mind that both categories of sites were weak in this area). It was also found that, among the polytechnic sites, the sites of the state government-owned institutions outperformed, to a statistically significant degree, the sites of the privately owned institutions in their operational performance measure.

The world is looking for ways to solve the problem of insufficient acquisition of technical competencies as well as the lack of experiential knowledge of students. The choice of modern teaching strategies and methods is most important. Unlike, those traditional methods, where the role of the teacher is exclusively teaching - the transmitter of knowledge, and students are passive recipients of information, modern teaching allows active involvement in the teaching process. Project teaching and learning is a comprehensive approach to learning where students are engaged in collaborative active work researching authentic problems in everyday life. The essence of project learning is in the process as a path to cognition, where project teaching expresses creativity, creative thinking, solving real problems, which is actually the goal of modern teaching. This final work presents project teaching as a basis for acquiring engineering competencies. Through examples of good practice - projects and numerous initiatives of successful engineering education in STEM areas are briefly described. The education of polytechnic engineers was analyzed with supported examples and employment opportunities in the labor market. Finally, an example of a functional use object "Smart Watch" is given as an indicator of project teaching at the Polytechnic study, together with all project documentation. Project - based learning integrates knowledge from different fields that are necessary for the development of a young engineer in the labor market.

Ironically, despite universities and other tertiary education organisations being at the heart of the vaunted 'knowledge society', they tend to be remarkably un-self-reflexive: apart from a considerable outpouring of literature about the mal-effects of changes on academic staff. While students are endlessly called upon to provide survey information about various details of their university lives, they are seldom depicted 'in the round' in their social status as students. This article intends to repair these gaps. It begins with a conceptualisation of students in general and then as constructed by neoliberalism. It then explores the possibilities for empirically validating this model, drawing upon several wider surveys to explore the contemporary social conditions of students and to suggest further research. This paper explores the complex web of accountability relationships between New Zealand's tertiary education institutions (TEIs) and the different forums with which they interact. A brief review of the extensive literature on accountability suggests that previous approaches to this topic have largely adopted the perspective of those forums to which accountability is provided. However, the alternative perspectives of those giving an account provide a more insightful understanding of accountability practices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the field of Professional and Technological Education (EPT), one of the manifestations of language commonly seen are technical internship reports, often seen as a narrative-descriptive record document. In a wider view, this study aims to discuss the potential of the Technical Internship Report as a discursive genre, questioning the formative perspectives aimed at it and their relevance for the polytechnic development of students. This is a documentary research whose main source was the script for the preparation of the internship report adopted by IFAM, Campus Manaus Centro. By using the interpretive analysis, a dialogue with theorists was outlined, from which we verified that the formative perspective present in the analyzed elaboration guide hardly approached the formative principles of polytechnics. On the other hand, we discuss the potential of this genre under the dimensions Composition, Thematic Content, and Style, showing an instrument capable of subverting the social space in which it is inserted. We also present a proposal for an educational product based on the articulation between Polytechnics and Textual Genres. The article intends to comprehend the ways in which technology is understood in the polytechnic high school developed by the state government of Rio Grande do Sul. The research is part of the discussions that problematize technology in educational contexts. The theoretical and methodological support is derived from readings about the Marxist view of education, STS education and French discourse analysis. It was found that the technology is understood in a generalized way in the polytechnic examined proposal. The reading made possible to consider the possibilities and limits of this proposal for a critical, integral and ongoing human formation in the Brazilian context.

The article discusses the actuality of the references of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels for the critical analysis of orthodox neoliberal reformism. Based on the categories work, polytechnics and omnilaterality, we highlight the fundamental distinction of the relationship between work and education that underlies its conception of education/training of the working class, from that proposed by the neoliberal reforms of the Brazilian present day. The text is the result of exploratory bibliographic studies carried out in three doctoral studies, which adopted as references the main works of Marx and Engels. The study demonstrates that the categories polytechnic education and omnilaterality in the authors' works express the possibility of a relationship between work and education that contributes to the overcoming of class society. They are, therefore, the basis for the critical analysis of neoliberal reforms and for the consolidation of the education project that matters to the working class.

This study aimed at ascertaining gender and work related stress among library staff of polytechnics in South-South Nigeria in order to spotlight the management techniques of work related stress by gender. The study employed a descriptive survey method. The instrument employed for data collection was the questionnaire. The data obtained from the questionnaire were analyzed using percentage count and mean(x) for the research questions and z-test at 0.5 level of significance for the formulated hypothesis. The population of the study consisted of a focus group made up of 148 male and female library staff. The study revealed that more females than male polytechnic library staff indicated non-conducive work environment as the cause of job stress. There were significant gender differences in the management of job stress as expressed by both gender. The male Library workers employed the techniques of clarity of ambiguous roles expectation, cultivation of positive attitude to work and training and retraining to manage work stress. Female workers employed techniques such as job sharing, discussion with friends, flexible work hours and developing healthy life styles as management tips. The study recommended that the Polytechnic authorities and library management should provide enabling work environment in the libraries and reduce staff work load in order to minimize the incidences of job stress to the barest minimum among others. XIX в. This article considers the problem of improving the professional training of future teachers. The necessity of considering this problem by means of a comparative historical analysis of the development of technological education is substantiated. The stages of development of technological education are identified: labor (or pre-revolutionary, the end of the 19th century — 1917), polytechnic (or pre-war, 1918—1937), industrial (or post-war, 1950s — 1993), technological (or modern, 1993 — present). Each historical stage in the development of technological education is characterized, the corresponding socio-economic and cultural-historical conditions for their implementation are identified, and the problems of implementing the proposed approaches are identified. The historically conditioned connections of technological education with the industrial sphere, as well as the specifics of technological education with a difference from other subject areas, are highlighted. The problems of modern technological education are identified: the low significance of the subject area “Technology” and the motivation for its development, the lack of qualified personnel, the high cost of equipping technology classrooms, the excessive blurring of the essence and role of technological education at the present stage. The need to improve technological education while maintaining its historical connection with the production sphere and taking into account the requirements of the education sector and trends in its development is conditioned. Teaching basics of innovative project activities is proposed as a means of improving the professional training of future technology teachers. It is proposed to train future technology teachers in such disciplines as: the basics of inventive and innovative design activities, patenting and intellectual property, modern high-tech equipment, basics of developing a creative personality, applied programming and robotics, industrial design, business communication. The advantages of the proposed approach are revealed., Бизнес.

Tutkimuksessa on tehty 25 teemahaastattelua.
