Orientador: Mauro Augusto Demarzo Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Engenharia Civil, Arquitetura e Ubanismo Resumo: A preservacao engloba todas as acoes que beneficiam a manutencao de um bem cultural, o que inclui a criacao de leis, realizacao de projetos de conservacao, restauracao, intervencoes no entorno do patrimonio, etc, e tem como objetivo principal manter a autenticidade historica e integridade do patrimonio cultural, para que as geracoes futuras possam desfrutar desse bem. A melhor maneira de entender como tratar o patrimonio cultural e compreender a natureza dos materiais que fazem parte da sua constituicao, como, por exemplo, a madeira. Com foco neste material, serão analisadas a sua anatomia, e a maneira como ela se comporta diante de agentes deterioradores, apresentando tambem metodos de combate. No caso de objetos de propriedade cultural, o emprego de determinados tipos de produtos e preocupante, pois, podem alterar alguns componentes destas pecas. A partir desta preocupacao, pesquisadores de todo o mundo vem se empenhando em desenvolver métodos atoxicos para o controle de pragas. Assim, em um primeiro momento, neste trabalho, serao apresentados os conceitos sobre patrimonio historico, e sua representatividade no cenario brasileiro; em um segundo momento, apresentar-se-a a biologia da madeira, para que, desta forma, se compreenda o material a ser trabalhado; em um terceiro momento, serao listados os agentes causadores da degradacao na madeira, e, em seguida, os metodos preservativos e curativos para esses danos. Por fim, serão analisados dois casos de intervencao em patrimonio historico em madeira em condicoes diferentes, ou seja, em duas regioes do país: a) Cobertura do ginásio poliesportivo do Pacaembu, localizado na cidade de São Paulo, no Estado de São Paulo, região Sudeste; b) Catedral da Se, localizada na cidade de Belém, no Estado do Para, região Norte Abstract: Preservation includes every action that benefits the maintenance of a cultural heritage,including the creation of laws, realization of conservation's projects, restoration and interventions in the surrounding areas, among others. Its main goal is to keep the historical authenticity of the cultural heritage and its integrity, so that future generations be able to appreciate it. The most fitting way to learn how to deal with a historical heritage is by understanding the nature of the materials that compose its arrangement; in the present case, the wood. Therefore, we will analyze wood's anatomy, the way it behave against aggressive agents and also show some ways to fight these pathologies. However, in the particular case of objects of cultural value, the adoption of such compounds is source of concern as they can modify the nature of these pieces. To address such a concern, researchers from around the world are spending efforts in the development of non-toxic methods for plague control. Regarding the Brazilian scenario some of these methods have not yet been adapted to the local reality as weather, plague species and constructive techniques are different from other countries. This way is interesting to retrieve as much information as possible about Brazilian wood's historical heritage. Therefore, this work will first present concepts regarding historical heritage and its representativeness of the Brazilian scenario; in a second moment the wood's biology will be shown, in order to fully understand the material we are dealing with. After that, agents that cause wood's degeneration will be listed and in what follows some methods for the preservation and healing of such damage will be presented. At the end, this work evaluates two cases of intervention in a wood's historical heritage. Always keeping in sight the fact that Brazil is a country of continental dimensions, we chose cases of distinct nature. That is it, cases from two different regions of the country: a) Cover of the Pacaembu Gymnasium, located in the city of Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo state, southeast region, and the; b) Cathedral of the Se, located in the city of Belem, Para state, north region Mestrado Arquitetura e Construção Mestre em Engenharia Civil

Jo?o Sim?es Lopes Neto foi um escritor pelotense que viveu entre os anos de 1865 e 1916. Reconhecido postumamente, por suas obras Contos Gauchescos (1912) e Lendas do Sul (1913), o autor atingiu status de c?none da literatura gauchesca brasileira. Nos anos de 1904 e 1906 elaborou e proferiu suas Confer?ncias C?vicas que, juntamente com suas cria??es, Artinha de Leitura (cartilha de alfabetiza??o) e Terra Ga?cha: Hist?rias da Inf?ncia (Livro para o treino da Leitura), representam o cerne do chamamos de projeto c?vico e pedag?gico. A an?lise desse projeto traz ? tona a preocupa??o do autor para com a instru??o p?blica de seu pa?s, bem como com a falta de um sentimento nacional imbu?do nela. Portanto, essa pesquisa tem por objetivo refletir o autor por um outro vi?s, que n?o ? propriamente o da literatura, analisando-o enquanto um intelectual engajado em seu tempo, lendo e estabelecendo ?conex?es? com outros intelectuais. Apontando criticamente os problemas da instru??o p?blica ao mesmo tempo que criava um projeto bastante ousado afim de san?-los, principalmente ao que se referia ao ensino prim?rio e a falta de um sentimento nacional. Dessa forma, constatamos que o autor criou uma interessante forma discursiva que visava apresentar ? crian?a ? sua terra, neste caso, a terra ga?cha, contando sua hist?ria, suas tradi??es e como que tudo isso se misturava com a hist?ria da na??o, ou seja, partia do Sul para contemplar o Brasil. Ao mesmo tempo, a pesquisa desse corpus aponta para a hip?tese de uma esp?cie de ?reaproveitamento? desse projeto em suas obras liter?rias de maior express?o. Jo?o Sim?es Lopes Neto was a writer from Pelotas, Brazil, who lived between 1865 and 1916. He has been posthumously recognized for Contos Gauchescos (1912) and Lendas do Sul (1913). For these works, the author was considered a canon of gauchesco literature, the part of Brazilian literature that deals with the gaucho lifestyle. In 1904 and 1906 performed his Confer?ncias C?vicas (Civic Conferences). These conferences together with the works Artinha de Leitura (a spelling-book) and Terra Ga?cha: Hist?rias da Inf?ncia (a book for practice reading) represent the core of what we call his civic and pedagogical project. By analyzing this project it is possible to notice the author's concern with the public education in his country, as well as the lack of nationalism inserted in it. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to think about the author from another point of view other than only literature, by analyzing him as an intellectual committed with his time. This engagement led him to read the works of other intellectuals and to establish new connections with them. In addition, he critically pointed out the problems of public education while creating a bold project to solve them, especially regarding primary education and the lack of a sense of nationality. Thus, it is possible to notice that the author created an interesting discursive form that aimed to present the homeland to the children. In this case, the land of Rio Grande do Sul, telling its history, its traditions and how it all fit the history of the nation as a whole. The main idea was to understand Brazil from a southern point of view. At the same time, that research corpus points to the possibility of a kind of reuse of this project in his literary works of a greater expression. Renal osteodystrophy or fibrous osteodystrophy is a complication of hyperparathyroidism secondary to chronic kidney disease, which may be present from the earliest stages. Osteoarthritis is an osteopenic disorder with the proliferation of fibrous connective tissue, most evident in the mandibular and maxillary bones, which affects young animals more frequently and is less frequent in older animals. The present report has as main objective to describe the case of an elderly female canine, with no defined race, with hyperparathyroidism secondary to a chronic renal disease that evolved to renal fibrous osteodystrophy., A osteodistrofia renal ou osteodistrofia fibrosa é uma complicação decorrente do hiperparatireoidismo secundário à doença renal crônica, que pode estar presente desde os estágios iniciais. A osteodistrofia é um distúrbio osteopênico com proliferação do tecido conjuntivo fibroso, mais evidente nos ossos mandibulares e maxilares, que acomete frequentemente animais jovens e é menos frequente em animais idosos. O presente relato tem como objetivo principal descrever o caso de um canino fêmea com nove anos de idade, sem raça definida, com hiperparatireoidismo secundário a doença renal crônica que evoluiu para uma osteodistrofia fibrosa renal.

A presente disserta??o tem como objetivo analisar as Confer?ncias C?vicas (1904-1906) e o livro de leitura Terra Ga?cha (2013), ambos de Jo?o Sim?es Lopes Neto. Com base nessa an?lise visamos compreender como o autor organizou e exprimiu suas ideias acerca da tem?tica da na??o brasileira, quais foram as suas inspira??es e as correntes de pensamento que mais o influenciaram. Isto posto, esta pesquisa visa alargar o campo de compreens?o no que se refere ? Jo?o Sim?es Lopes Neto e sua obra, pois o objetivo ? compreend?-lo como um intelectual que a partir de sua regi?o refletiu sobre a na??o brasileira, e n?o apenas como um escritor regionalista, plano ao qual ficou relegado. Esse alargamento da perspectiva acerca do autor colabora para uma melhor compreens?o do mesmo e de sua obra, pois Jo?o Sim?es Lopes Neto ao refletir sobre a na??o brasileira percebeu a falta de uma educa??o c?vica capaz de despertar nas pessoas o esp?rito da na??o. Para tentar resolver esse problema o autor criou uma narrativa complexa de identifica??o, visando atentar para as virtudes e v?cios da na??o brasileira, as suas diversas regi?es e culturas. O livro de leitura, por exemplo, tendo em vista que seria um instrumento para o ensino no Rio Grande do Sul, conta com um enfoque especial na cultura ga?cha, buscando demonstrar que as diversas regi?es s?o formadoras da na??o. This dissertation will analyze the Confer?ncias C?vicas (1904-1906) and the spelling book Terra Ga?cha (2013), both by Jo?o Sim?es Lopes Neto. On this basis, we intend to comprehend how the author has organized and expressed his ideas concerning the Brazilian nation, what were his inspirations and the lines of thought that most influenced him. With this in mind, this research aims to increase the understanding about Lopes Neto and his work. In other words, the objective is to understand him not only as a regionalist writer but as an intellectual who, from your region, thought about the Brazilian nation. This expansion of perspective about Lopes Neto contributes to a better understanding of the author and his work. When thinking about the Brazilian nation, Lopes Neto realized the lack of a civic education able to awaken in people "the spirit of the nation". Trying to solve this problem the author created a complex narrative in order to pay attention to the virtues and vices of the Brazilian nation, its different regions and cultures. For example, the spelling book would be a tool for teaching in Rio Grande do Sul. So it has special focus on the gaucho culture and tries to demonstrate that the various regions form the nation.

O presente artigo visa tratar, de forma sintética, sobre a atuação nacionalista do escritor pelotense João Simões Lopes Neto versando sobre suas Conferências Cívicas, proferidas nos anos de 1904 e 1906 em Pelotas e outras cidades do Rio Grande do Sul, e seu livro de leitura Terra Gaúcha, publicado somente em 2013. Com isso, pretende demonstrar que apesar do autor ser tratado como o maior regionalista gaúcho ele também estava preocupado com a nação e trabalhou de forma efetiva para que se refletisse sobre ela.

Changes are blistering and the time of adaptation to them is shorter each day. Human communication relations with machines are modifying in a deep way, mainly audiovisual screens multiplication that spread through people s life, that are assisted by uncountable Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) and other ubiquitous displays that converge in a radical way. Technological profusion and sensorial appropriation of contemporaneous instruments are tangible examples of that. With this scenario in a first plan, our research proposes contextualize, describe and analyze new faces and interfaces of communication that materialize in current digital audiovisual platforms, more and more mobile, connected and faster. That way, it undertakes an exploratory study that would mainly worth by specific bibliographic survey and statistical data analysis. The research indicated that the multiple screens, in fact, are changing the dynamics of communication processes, which need to be understood again. A sociedade é digital e vivencia as benesses, desafios e paradigmas dessa era. As mudanças estão aceleradas e o tempo de adaptação a elas mais curto a cada dia. As relações comunicativas do homem com as máquinas estão se alterando de maneira profunda, com destaque para a multiplicação de telas audiovisuais que permeiam a vida das pessoas, as quais hoje são assessoradas por meio de inúmeros Assistentes Digitais Pessoais (PDAs) e outros displays ubíquos que convergem de forma radical entre si. A profusão tecnológica e apropriação sensorial dos instrumentos contemporâneos são exemplos tangíveis disso. Com tal cenário em primeiro plano, nossa pesquisa propõe contextualizar, descrever e analisar as novas faces e interfaces da comunicação que se materializam nas atuais plataformas audiovisuais digitais, cada vez mais móveis, conectadas e velozes. Dessa forma, empreende-se uma pesquisa exploratória que se valerá prioritariamente de levantamento bibliográfico específico e análise de dados estatísticos. A pesquisa indicou que as múltiplas telas, de fato, estão modificando a dinâmica dos processos comunicativos, os quais precisam ser recompreendidos.
