Currently, companies are confronted with the need to respond to technological and economic changes. Companies are aware of this fact and have started a number of change projects. Internal communication plays a key role, affects attitudes and employees performance and therefore the performance of the entire organisation. The aim of the paper is to describe the state of internal communication in enterprises in the Czech Republic. An online structured questionnaire was the tool for query. Questions were divided into four areas: 13 questions on internal communication, 4 questions on strategic work with line managers, 3 questions related to lean management and 3 issues characterising the Czech respondent. The main finding is that respondents perceive internal communication as an important factor for overall business cooperation. Internal business communication contributes to the co-operation of individual teams within the company, also to the awareness among workers and to the creation of good relationships in the workplace.
