Wheat, one of the most important crops at global level, is both a thermo-sensitive and rain-sensitive plant. As a consequence, any change in the key meteorological parameters determines low yields, especially in rain-fed regions. In order to assess the relationship between wheat yield and climate conditions, we used monthly values of temperature and precipitation amount from 14 meteorological stations located within the study area. The data cover the period 1990-2021. Based on mean values, wheat generally finds proper climatic conditions within most of the region. Southern counties, especially Mehedinţi, Dolj and Olt, display certain thermal and pluviometric risks, as heat sums (interval October-June) exceed the optimum upper value (2300°C) and water deficit generates dry conditions in May-June interval, which corresponds to the maximum water requirements of winter wheat. Drought-prone areas were determined based on Selyaninov’s hydrothermal coefficient (HTC) and drought variability was analysed based on the standardized precipitation anomaly (SPA) and Weighted Anomaly Standardized Precipitation (WASP). HTC indicates slightly and moderately dry conditions in the plain area (both annual and monthly values), while northwards, in the piedmont and Subcarpathians, the climate is either slightly or moderately humid, drought risk reducing gradually in this direction. SPA indicates a predominance of normal years (43-45%), followed by dry years (29-31%) without an obvious latitudinal and altitudinal differentiation. According to WASP, most of the months (70-80%) are normal (no risk), but they are not homogenously distributed during the year and dry conditions emerge at higher rates in May-July and September-October (up to 30%), especially in the east of Oltenia. During the interval under study, the lowest wheat yields were registered in 1992, 1993, 1996, 2000, 2002, 2003, and 2007 and, in most of the cases, they were determined by the pluviometric deficit registered during the entire life cycle or during a sensitive phenological stage. The Catania-Based lamp-maker Proklos Agyrios, together with three members of his family (Gaios, Pouplios, Severos) are well-known in literature, but their capacity of production and the range of diffusion of their lamps seems to have been widely underestimated. The archaeological mission at Acrae, whose regional and local framework, aims and results are largely described in the first part of the text, unearthed a base fragment of a lamp. The surviving part bears on the second line of the incised signature, the Agyrios family acronym, while the first line corresponds to a previously unknown lamp-maker, bearing one of the common Greek first names linked to the divine world: Theo[?]. This find allowed us to come back to all the investigations led on the productions and finding spots of the whole family and to propose a series of hypothesis on a workshop which seems, discovery after discovery, to have been rather a huge industry with diverse workshops in Eastern Sicily that a simple "officina urbana". A complete map of the finding spots allows hence to start taking into account the existence of local branches as well as to consider the impact the lamp-type created and massively produced by the Argyrii had on local workshops in Eastern Sicily. Firmalampen, produced in enormous quantities in the Northern provinces of the Roman Empire, bear with them still many mysteries to be solved. The most important of these concerns the very few individuals which have ever been used, if compared to the immense corpora of this type, gathered from Britannia to all the provinces situated along the Rhine and the Danube limes. This fact is not only in contrast with the quantities unearthed, but also with the incredible technological progress brought by a Firmalampe. By placing the wick on its channel, its lighting power doubles, being then comparable to the cumulative light provided by two contemporary "discus-lamps". This article aims to offer a new framework and new hypothesis for further studies, by examining diverse elements: locations and delocalizations of the workshops, supply chains leading to the most remote newly conquered areas, military and civilian logistic needs and tastes. Last but not least, a list of specific contexts where the majority of the lamps of this type are found with traces of use will give further clues, for the Firmalampen as well as for another poorly aesthetic and merely utilitarian type, which seem to have the same fate: the much less studied Imperial Vogelkopflampen. The latter type has also been created and manufactured massively during almost three centuries, with a specific "industrial design" elaborated to suit other specific needs: package easiness and possibility to fix them on a wall with a simple nail thanks to their vertical, pierced handle. Peanut culture can be considered as one of the most advantageous and cost-effective crops, taking into account the production results that can be obtained and the many fields of use of the obtained harvest. In our country, given the importance of peanuts in human nutrition and in some compartments of the industry, cultivated areas with peanuts should be on the increase. The growing demands on the variety of products that can be obtained from this plant and their quality will in the near future contribute to the expansion of the areas to be cultivated with this plant within the limits of a profitable economic efficiency. From the assortment of Chinese varieties, the highest yields of pods were recorded in the Origin China 2 (3690 kg / ha) with a yield of 657 kg / ha compared to the control variety, in the Ning variety with 3571 kg / ha, in the variety Origin China 1, with 3238 kg / ha.
