Background: Haemophilus influenza persists as a well-known root of ill health in children throughout the entire world. Before the introduction of the vaccine, Haemophilus influenza remained a well-known and eminent source of septic arthritis, pneumonia, and epiglotti tis. Haemophilus influenza, Neisseria meningitides, and staphylococcus pneumonia spreads through respiratory droplets and cause diseases such as meningitis, pneumonia, and other secondary infections related to respiratory diseases. Objective was to analyze the 3D structure of the protein of Haemophilus influenzae by homology modelling to design antibiotics. Methods: For the effective study of protein, computational tools were used to investigate protein structure and function, Comprehensive microbial resource (CMR) for comparative modelling, Interproscan, BLAST for sequence similarity searching, MODELLER 9.10 for homology modeling, Procheck and Protein Structure Analysis (ProSA) software for assessing model quality and structural validation. Results: The model showed that it consists of three alpha helices (red) and one beta-sheet. Ramachandran Plot statistics show that 97.4% of the debris is in the favoured region, 0% in the additional allowed region, 2.65% in the generally allowed part, and 0% in the disallowed part. Stability and energy were checked through ProSa. Z score was highly negative which showed that the model is highly stable. The greater the negative value, the more will be the stability of the model. Conclusion: Cell division protein H11025 was selected. The structure was modelled which has provided all the required information to design antibiotics to control the harmful effects regarding that protein. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] more...

Due to the environmental policy adopted by the European Union (EU), EU countries are obliged to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. They reduce emissions largely through the energy transformation and switching to renewable energy sources (RES). Therefore, it is important to assess the progress of the energy transformation of individual EU countries. This is related to the aim of the article, which is a temporal analysis of the energy transformation process towards the transition to RES and reducing the use of fossil fuels in energy production. To achieve this goal, a new Temporal/Dynamic Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (T/DMCDM) method called Temporal PROSA was developed, based on the PROMETHEE and PROSA family of methods. The Temporal PROSA method, unlike many other T/DMCDM methods, enables the aggregation of data from many periods into a single final assessment, as well as the direct transfer of information from the examined periods to the overall result. As a result of the research, EU countries that dominated in terms of progress in energy transformation towards RES in the years 2004–2021were identified. Based on the data and methodology used, it was indicated that these countries are primarily Sweden and Portugal, and recently also Denmark and Finland. On the other hand, countries such as Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Luxembourg, and Poland made the least progress between 2004 and 2021. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] more...

Abstract The main dilemma in the case of classification tasks is to find—from among many combinations of methods, techniques and values of their parameters—such a structure of the classifier model that could achieve the best accuracy and efficiency. The aim of the article is to develop and practically verify a framework for multi-criteria evaluation of classification models for the purposes of credit scoring. The framework is based on the Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) method called PROSA (PROMETHEE for Sustainability Analysis), which brought added value to the modelling process, allowing the assessment of classifiers to include the consistency of the results obtained on the training set and the validation set, and the consistency of the classification results obtained for the data acquired in different time periods. The study considered two aggregation scenarios of TSC (Time periods, Sub-criteria, Criteria) and SCT (Sub-criteria, Criteria, Time periods), in which very similar results were obtained for the evaluation of classification models. The leading positions in the ranking were taken by borrower classification models using logistic regression and a small number of predictive variables. The obtained rankings were compared to the assessments of the expert team, which turned out to be very similar. more...

MONTE Carlo method , *BUILDING-integrated photovoltaic systems , *MULTIPLE criteria decision making , *DECISION making , *RENEWABLE energy sources - Abstract
In recent years, the share of PV (photovoltaic) panels in the generation of renewable energy has been dynamically growing. During this time, the Polish government introduced numerous programs to assist households in switching to PV panels as the primary source of energy. Therefore, the aim of the article is to indicate the PV panels that are best suited to work for individual users in households in Poland. PV panels were assessed using the PROSA multi-criteria decision analysis method, supported by a stochastic approach, based on the Monte Carlo method. This approach made it possible to choose the most balanced solutions, in terms of individual criteria, and to take into account the uncertainty and imprecision of the weights of the assessment criteria. In particular, the use of reliable weight ranges in the Monte Carlo simulations allowed the construction of a whole spectrum of evaluation and ranking models. These models indicate the PV panels that best meet the requirements and have the best balance between the individual assessment criteria. As a result of the research, it was found that the requirements of PV installations in households in Poland are best met by panels produced in China and in the Chinese–Polish cooperation. Panels of Polish production ranked further down, which means that Polish producers do not offer products that are tailored to the needs of PV installations for households in Poland. Background & Aims: There is inadequate information available about the genomics and proteomics characterization of SARS-CoV-2 isolates reported from India and other part of the globe. This characterization is important for the in-silico drug designing, as there are no approved medications available to treat SARS-CoV-2 infection. The present study based on the characterization of SARS-CoV-2 (MZ558159) isolate reported from India using homology modeling, validation, and in silico drug designing methods. Materials & Methods: Genome sequence of SARS-CoV-2 (MZ558159) was retrieved from NCBI, and four protein sequences e.g., QXN18496, QXN18498, QXN18504, and QXN18497 were selected for the homology modeling, validation, and in silico drug designing. SWISS-MODEL and UCLA-DOE server were used for homology modeling. Validation for structure model performed using PROCHECK and molecular docking using MCULE-1-Click server. Results: The surface glycoprotein (QXN18496) model corresponding to probability conformation with 93.6%, envelope protein (QXN18498) with 88.9%, nucleocapsid phosphoprotein (QXN18504) with 93.6%, and ORF3a protein (QXN18497) with 91.8% residues in core section of φ-ψ plot that specifies accuracy of prediction models. The corresponding ProSA Z-score score -12.67, -0.01, -4.4, and -2.87 indicates the good quality of the models. Molecular dynamic simulation and docking studies revealed that inhibitor binds effectively at the SARS-CoV-2 (MZ558159) proteins. Predicted inhibitor 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-beta-D-glucopyranose exhibited effective binding affinity against surface glycoprotein (QXN18496). Conclusion: The results of this study established inhibitor 2-Acetamido-2-deoxy-beta-D-glucopyranose as valuable lead molecule with great potential for surface glycoprotein (QXN18496). more...

- Abstract
This work aims to make known the prose writings of Cecilia del Nacimiento, Discalced Carmelite of Convento de la Concepción del Carmen in Valladolid. She is one of the disciples of Saint Teresa of Jesus who met and lived with her. Mother Cecilia del Nacimiento wrote her texts on many occasions together with her sister María de San Alberto, therefore, sometimes makes it difficult to clarify the authorship of both sisters. Most of the manuscripts are spiritual treatises, biogra-phies of the sisters of the convent and their sibling and matters concerning both this convent and the founding of the Calahorra convent, Este trabajo pretende dar a conocer los escritos en prosa de Cecilia del Nacimiento, Carmelita Descalza del Convento de la Concepción del Carmen de Valladolid.

In 1952 she would publish her first novel, “Wise Blood”, a portrait of post-World War II American religiosity. Her condition of being a devout Roman Catholic in the Deep South (with a Protestant social majority) made her a great “connoisseur” of the different versions of the Christian faith. This novel, through the traumatic experience(s) of the starring character Hazel Motes, offers a never-ending projection of Christian ideas and dogmas. Besides this, Motes’s relationship with Sabbath Lily Hawks also allows the reader the opportunity of transgressing, “via” sexuality, some of the most sacred Christian mysteries, such as Nativity, the Afterlife, or Redemption., Depto. de Estudios Ingleses: Lingüística y Literatura, Fac. de Filología, TRUE, pub more...

This research was carried out thanks to a Visiting Fellowship for Doctoral Research Fellows granted by the Spanish Ministry of Education (reference: EST2016/0055) for a short research stay at Birkbeck College, University of London. The author wishes to acknowledge the support of the project “Improvisation and Emotional Contagion. History and Philosophy of Emotional Experiences”, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (reference: PID2019-108988GB-I00)., This paper intends to analyze the representation of girlhood as a liminal space in three novels by Shirley Jackson: «The Bird’s Nest» (1954), «The Haunting of Hill House» (1959) and «We Have Always Lived in the Castle» (1962). Bearing in mind how nuclear fears and national identity are configured around the ideal of a safe domestic space in US postwar culture, the paper explores cultural anxieties about teenage girls who refuse to conform to normative femininity, following Teresa de Lauretis’s conception of women’s coming-of-age as “consenting to femininity” (1984). I will argue that Jackson criticizes the rigid possibilities for women at this time, and I will show how her representations of deviant femininity refuse and subvert the discourse of the nuclear family and, therefore, of the nation., RESUMEN: El presente artículo pretende analizar la representación de la adolescencia femenina como un espacio liminal en tres novelas de Shirley Jackson: «The Bird’s Nest» (1954), «The Haunting of Hill House» (1959) y «We Have Always Lived in the Castle» (1962).

- Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the function of visual art in Torgny Lindgren's novels Till sanningens lov (1991), Dorés Bibel (2005) and Klingsor (2014) and the short story collection I Brokiga Blads vatten (1999). Visual art in Lindgren's prose is approached both as an instance of description and in terms of an activity and artefact to be viewed, created and interacted with. By studying ekphrases and "iconic projections" based on intermedial theory, the verbal descriptions of art are shown to have a narrative function, whereby the characters viewing or creating the artwork are reflected. A conspicuous trait of the ekphrases and iconic projections are their focus on details. The area of creation as an activity relates visual art to crafts, cooking and alchemy, with an emphasis on its material aspects. The creation of art investigates the dualism of genuine versus fake, as well as the relationship between art and commerce. Lindgren's stories depict the market as an arbitrary yet powerful force, alongside individual creative forms of resistance to it. The manner in which artefacts are described evokes the notion of an enchanted object, in accordance with research on the function of art-objects in contemporary fiction. Being able to discern enchantment in Lindgren's works is based on the conversion of one's vision, which in turn is related to one's view of the world as a whole. Conversion is engendered by methods of irony, ambiguity and the elevation of the humble. more...

- Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyze the differences and similarities between the latest volume of stories published by the Romanian writer Mircea Cărtărescu (Melancolia, 2019, Bucharest, Humanitas) and his previous literary production. Although Melancolia has been associated with Nostalgia and indeed exhibits many parallels with the first volume of short novels published by Cartarescu, the truth is that the 2019 volume refers to the literary universe created from other texts as well. By comparing and contrasting Melancolia with some of his main works, from novels such as the three volumes of the Orbitor trilogy (Aripa stângă, Corpul, Aripa dreaptă), Travesti or Solenoid to his poetry, through the stories of Nostalgia, the essay aims to demonstrate how this volume dialogues, more or less explicitly, with all the previous ones while distancing itself from them in some narrative and stylistic aspects. After examining elements such as characters, motifs, symbols, metaphors, subjects, intertextuality, and metafiction, the work focuses on space and time as the two main categories in which the most significant changes take place as they move away from their usual context, communist Bucharest (more precisely, from the late 1950s to the end of Nicolae Ceaușescu’s regime in the late 1980s). This temporal and spatial framework is one of the fundamental axes of all Cărtărescu’s literary texts, which gives them unity, stability, and continuity. However, as the article tries to demonstrate, the change is not total, but Mircea Cărtărescu, through his usual intertextual play, refers indirectly to this space well known by his readers and, consequently, perhaps also to that historical period. To argue this issue, this article outlines the direct allusion to a specific space mentioned in some of the author’s earlier texts. This is the factory where one of the most important episodes of the first story (Punțile) takes place. - Abstract
Sylvia Plath’s «roman à clef» «The Bell Jar» has largely been read as an autobiographical novel and as the key to understanding her suicide. The novel, however, presents an important political complexity —the contradictions Esther faces in post-WWII, 1950s American society, the unattainable and conflicting ideals of womanhood, and the political treason that betraying them implies, dealt with as madness. Esther Greenwood’s descent into madness is no more than the reflection of the sick, hypocritical society she lives in, and an attempt to escape from her obligations as an American woman. However, the institution of psychiatry was closely related to the politics of the time, and acted as a means of control over the population, especially women, through the use of treatments such as ECT and lobotomy. I would like to look at how Cold War politics, gender, and psychiatry interact in «The Bell Jar» in order to submit American society to the conformism and consumerism that dominated the 1950s., RESUMEN: «The Bell Jar», el «roman à clef» de Sylvia Plath ha sido sobre todo leída como novela autobiográfica clave para entender su suicidio.

32. Subversive Wanderings in the City of Love: Constructing the Female Body in Jean Rhys’s «Good Morning, Midnight»

- Abstract
In this article I analyse the deconstruction of the public/private dichotomy in the city of Paris in Jean Rhys’s «Good Morning Midnight» (1939). Through the exploration of Sasha’s aimless wandering through Paris in her failed quest for romantic love, this paper aims to explore Rhys’s Paris as a city which is hostile to women who fail to perform conventional standards of femininity. These standards are in turn encouraged and set by the promise of happiness; thus, the mimicry of femininity —whether intentional or not— exposes ongoing power dynamics in gender roles, the construction of the bodies of others through political ideals of happiness and love, and the subversive potential in Rhys’s novel, even if the protagonist is crushed at the end by the private side of the emerging totalitarian regimes on the eve of the Second World War., RESUMEN: En este artículo, analizo la deconstrucción de la dicotomía de las esferas pública y privada en la ciudad de París en «Good Morning Midnight» (1939) de Jean Rhys.

In this text, the editors of the special edition “Verse, Prose, Drama and Fiction: Literature and Organizations” propose to make a brief journey, raising, in a non-exhaustive way, the production related to the provocative intercession between Literature and Organization Studies. From the problematization of art, which finds itself under pressure to deal with economics, the discussion evolves towards intersections between aesthetics and organizations, which precedes a discussion specifically dedicated to the relationship between literature and organizational studies. In this section, the discussion revolves around issues of narrative and fiction, possible dialogues based on cartoons, poetry and the novel. A brief mapping of national and foreign production is made and, in the last section, the special edition is presented. more...

Panels of Polish production ranked further down, which means that Polish producers do not offer products that are tailored to the needs of PV installations for households in Poland. more...

In the 1960s, Vittorio Sereni publishes not only his third and most important poetic collection, Gli strumenti umani, but also one of his greatest prose pieces, L’opzione. The short story first appeared in a journal but was promptly included in a volume, together with some ‘attachments’ among which the poem La pietà ingiusta. Fifteen years later, the two texts, in prose and verse, were republished under the title of Il sabato tedesco, together with the eponymous short story considered by Sereni a follow-up of L’opzione. He therefore recommends reading these texts together. However, when he plans to collect the whole of his narrative pieces, not only does he omit the poem, but he also interposes a third short story, Ventisei, between L’opzione and Il sabato tedesco. This article will explore modifications and adjustments as well as internal references and quotations in order to shed light on Sereni’s attitude towards literary genres. In particular, it will investigate whether the geography of texts, the problem of placement and borders, can reveal something about the relationship between prose and poetry in Sereni’s work. more...

This study, written by two teachers of literary theory, aims to highlight that Francisco de Quevedo, both poet and prose writer, is the Spanish author of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, aside from Cervantes, who has been most assiduously and penetratingly studied by central figures of literary theory, in such a way that his work has served to raise, explain or develop fundamental concepts of literary theory. It is no coincidence that Quevedo is referred to by Bakhtin, Spitzer (who received his doctorate with a thesis on El Buscón), the stylistics of Dámaso Alonso, Lázaro Carreter and Alessandro Martinengo, the Slavic formalism, the literary sociology of Edmond Cros, or the theories on satire, parody and the grotesque.

Background: Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) is a common pregnancy complication that occurs in 0.3–2% of pregnancies. Growth/Differentiation Factor (GDF) 15 serum levels are abnormally high in patients associated with HG. In silico analysis provides information about structure and function of GDF15. Aim and Objectives: The aim of this study was to enlist biochemical and functional properties of GDF15 protein and determine its three-dimensional structure, as GDF15 is known to be associated with risk of HG. Material and Methods: The PDB file of GDF15 [NP_004855] was created by RaptorX structure prediction server. The UCLA-DOE server was used to visual analysis of crystal structure of protein. The validation for structure models was performed by using PROCHECK. Model quality estimates were based on the QMEAN and ProSA. Results: The model showed good stereo-chemical property in terms of G-factor value -0.64, that indicates geometry of model corresponds to probability conformation with 95% residue in the favored region of Ramachandran plot, showing high accuracy of model prediction. The Zscore of -4.04 predicted by ProSA represents the good quality of the model. The energy plot shows the local model quality by plotting knowledge-based energies as a function of amino acid sequence position. Conclusion: The generated model could be supportive to understand the structure and functional characteristics of Homo sapiens growth/differentiation factor 15 [NP_004855]. As abnormal high serum levels of GDF15 were observe in patients associated with HG. Therefore, the structure model of GDF15 [NP_004855] is useful to understand its role in development of HG. In Silico docking study could be explain the molecular association of GDF15 [NP_004855] with HG and new drug designing, for that structure model is very useful. more...

Abstract: Versification structures written in Portuguese language prose are still an unexplored phenomenon to literary theorists and historians, and the automatic mining of such structures is still unseen in Computational Linguistics. The MIVES (Mining Verse Structure) system was developed for computational scansion of metric versification structures in Portuguese language prose. It is able to identify, classify and compare, frequency, density and dispersion of heterometric structures of versification, distributed at different scales of observation, from a work or author, to historical periods and movements. We present the system, and a preliminary validation analysing three works by Euclides da Cunha (Os Sertões, À Margem da História, Contrastes e Confrontos). They were selected because they constitute the main corpus of one of the most important Portuguese-language writers, and because Os Sertões was the object of what Augusto de Campos (2010, p. 14) called “verse-spectral reading”, an operation able of revealing “more than 500 decasyllables in the book, among sapphic and heroic verses, and more than two hundred dodecasyllables. MIVES identified metric structures in 48.18% of the sentences of Os Sertões, 48.96% of À Margem da História and 37.48% of Contrastes e Confrontos, an unexpected rate when compared to the partial results of Augusto de Campos. It can be said that MIVES inaugurates new patterns of observation and analysis of structures not yet investigated in Portuguese language literary prose.
