Background Surgery is one of the main means of treating colorectal cancer. However, patients with colorectal cancer need to face many physical and psychological problems after surgery, which seriously affects patients' treatment outcomes and quality of life, so how to carry out effective postoperative management is extremely important. Objective To investigate the effectiveness of an integrated hospital-community-patient chronic disease management pathway intervention for postoperative colorectal cancer patients. Methods Based on different postoperative interventions, colorectal cancer patients were divided into a control group (n=40) and a co-management group (n=36) , with the control group implementing conventional postoperative interventions and the co-management group following a constructed integrated chronic disease pathway for co-management. Changes in laboratory indices, recurrent metastasis, death, postoperative complications, quality of life, and anxiety were compared between the two groups before and after surgery. Results Retrospectively selected 80 patients with colorectal cancer who were discharged from the Department of General Surgery at Yangpu Hospital, affiliated with Tongji University, between January 2021 and April 2022, as study subjects. At 3 and 6 months postoperatively, patients in the co-management group had lower carcinoembryonic antigen levels than patients in the control group (P0.05) , while at 6 months postoperatively, the incidence of recurrent metastases was lower in the co-management group than in the control group (5.6% vs. 22.5%, χ2=4.395, P=0.036) ; in addition, the incidence of complications was lower in the co-management group than in the control group at both 3 and 6 months postoperatively (0 vs. 16.2%, χ2=3.981, P=0.046; 5.6% vs. 25.0%, χ2=5.388, P=0.020) . As a central topic in Behavioral Ecology, animal space use involves dynamic responses to social and ecological factors. We collared 22 rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta) from six groups on Neilingding Island, China, and collected 80,625 hourly fixes over a year. Using this high‐resolution location data set, we quantified the macaques' space use at the individual level and tested the ecological constraints model while considering various environmental and human interfering factors. As predicted by the ecological constraints model, macaques in larger groups had longer daily path lengths (DPLs) and larger home ranges. We found an inverted U‐shape relationship between mean daily temperatures and DPLs, indicating that macaques traveled farther on mild temperature days, while they decreased DPLs when temperatures were too high or too low. Anthropogenic food subsidies were positively correlated to DPLs, while the effect of rainfall was negative. Macaques decreased their DPLs and core areas when more flowers and less leaves were available, suggesting that macaques shifted their space use patterns to adapt to the seasonal differences in food resources. By applying GPS collars on a large number of individuals living on a small island, we gained valuable insights into within‐group exploitation competition in wild rhesus macaques. Brain glioma is the most common primary tumour of the central nervous system. Complete surgical removal of the brain glioma is virtually impossible. Chemotherapy is still an important treatment for brain glioma. However, blood–brain barrier (BBB) and vasculogenic mimicry (VM) channels remain two hindrances in regular treatments. Herein, we developed a novel nanoscaled dual targeting daunorubicin plus rofecoxib liposomes which could transport across the BBB, and eliminate brain glioma cells along with the VM channels. The liposomes were modified with two functional materials, and showed round in shape with a diameter about 120 nm. Evaluations were performed on human brain glioma U87MG cells in vitro and on intracranial brain glioma-bearing nude mice. The dual targeting liposomes demonstrated a long circulatory effect in the blood system, were able to transport across the BBB, and were accumulated into the brain. The results indicated that the dual targeting daunorubicin plus rofecoxib liposomes could inhibit the brain glioma VM channels and exhibited a significant efficacy in the treatment of intracranial glioma-bearing nude mice. The mechanisms are related to down regulations MMP-2, MMP-9, FAK and HIF-α. Hence, the established dual targeting liposomes could be a potential formulation to treat the brain glioma along with eliminating VM channels.

The microbiome provides resistance to infection. However, the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood. We demonstrate that colonization with the intestinal bacterium Clostridium scindens protects from Entamoeba histolytica colitis via innate immunity. Introduction of C. scindens into the gut microbiota epigenetically altered and expanded bone marrow granulocyte-monocyte progenitors (GMPs) and resulted in increased intestinal neutrophils with subsequent challenge with E. histolytica. Introduction of C. scindens alone was sufficient to expand GMPs in gnotobiotic mice. Adoptive transfer of bone marrow from C. scindens-colonized mice into naive mice protected against amebic colitis and increased intestinal neutrophils. Children without E. histolytica diarrhea also had a higher abundance of Lachnoclostridia. Lachnoclostridia C. scindens can metabolize the bile salt cholate, so we measured deoxycholate and discovered that it was increased in the sera of C. scindens-colonized specific pathogen-free and gnotobiotic mice, as well as in children protected from amebiasis. Administration of deoxycholate alone increased GMPs and provided protection from amebiasis. Laser ablated Be atoms have been reacted with acetonitrile molecules in 4 K solid neon matrix. The diberyllium products BeBeNCCH3 and CNBeBeCH3 have been identified by D and 13C isotopic substitutions and quantum chemical calculations. The stabilization of the diberyllium species is rationalized from the formation of the real Be−Be single bonds with bond distances as 2.077 and 2.058 Å and binding energies as −27.1 and −77.2 kcal/mol calculated at CCSD (T)/aug-cc-pVTZ level of theory for BeBeNCCH3 and CNBeBeCH3, respectively. EDA-NOCV analysis described the interaction between Be2 and NC···CH3 fragments as Lewis "acid−base" interactions. In the complexes, the Be2 moiety carries positive charges which transfer from antibonding orbital of Be2 to the bonding fragments significantly strengthen the Be−Be bonds that are corroborated by AIM, LOL and NBO analyses. This paper presents an improved smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) model through a rigorous mathematical derivation based on the principle of virtual work, aiming at establishing a three-dimensional numerical wave tank overcoming excessive numerical dissipation that has been usually encountered in traditional SPH models in practical applications. In order to demonstrate the accuracy and convergence of the new scheme, the viscous damping of a standing wave is first investigated as a quantitative validation, with particular attention on emphasizing (1) its physical rationality with respect to energy conservation and (2) its ability to alleviate wave over-attenuation even using fewer neighbors compared with the traditional δ-SPH model. Subsequently, several fully three-dimensional engineering problems, with respect to water wave propagation and the interaction with structures, are investigated to demonstrate the effectiveness of the new scheme in alleviating wave over-attenuation. It is demonstrated that the present model can be performed with relatively few neighbors (i.e., higher computational efficiency) to obtain accurate and convergent numerical results for those SPH simulations involving long-term and long-distance water wave propagation. Reactions of laser-ablated B and Al atoms with BF3 have been explored in the 4 K excess neon through the matrix isolation infrared spectrum, isotopic substitutions and quantum chemical calculations. The inserted complexes F2BMF (M = B, Al) were identified by anti-symmetric and symmetric stretching modes of F-B-F, and the F-11B-F stretch modes are at 1336.9 and 1202.4 cm−1 for F211B11BF and at 1281.5 and 1180.8 cm−1 for F211BAlF. The CASSCF analysis, EDA-NOCV calculation and the theory of atoms-in-molecules (AIM) are applied to investigate the bonding characters of F2BBF and F2BAlF molecules. The bonding difference between boron and aluminum complexes reveals interesting chemistries, and the FB species stabilization by a main group atom was first observed in this article.
