COVID-19 merupakan pandemi global yang penyebarannya sangat cepat, termasuk di Indonesia. Untuk memulihkan perekonomian di tengah kondisi pandemi ini, pemerintah berupaya memberikan dana bantuan sosial (bansos) COVID-19 disetiap kecamatan di berbagai wilayah, termasuk Kecamatan Mandau di Kota Duri seperti bantuan bahan pokok makanan. Namun dalam pelaksanaannya terdapat kendala dalam penyaluran dana bantuan sosial tersebut karena data yang diterima oleh petugas kecamatan masih menggunakan sistem pencatatan manual sehingga pendataan penerima bantuan tidak akurat dan tidak memiliki acuan kriteria persyaratan sebagai penerima bantuan, yang menyebabkan penerima bantuan sosial tidak tepat sasaran. Dalam penelitian ini, untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut telah dirancang analisa perhitungan berbasis website dengan menggunakan metode Preference Selection Index (PSI) yang mampu mengklasifikasikan penerima bantuan sesuai kriteria yang diharapkan. Hasil dari penerapan metode PSI kedalam aplikasi berbasis web ini memberikan kemudahan bagi calon penerima bantuan untuk mendaftar secara online, dan untuk proses penyaluran bantuan sosial menjadi lebih mudah, transparan, dan tepat sasaran. dengan kriteria data yang akurat dengan skala prioritas pengurutan secara descending untuk nilai tertinggi yaitu 0.883, dan hasil nilai terendah atau non prioritas yaitu 0.322. Abstract COVID-19 is a global pandemic with rapid spread, including in Indonesia. To restore the economy amid this pandemic, the government is trying to provide COVID-19 social assistance funds in every sub-district in various regions, including Mandau District in Duri City, such as assistance with staple foods. However, in practice there are obstacles in the distribution of social assistance funds because the data received by sub-district officials still uses a manual recording system so that the data collection on beneficiaries is inaccurate and does not have a reference to the eligibility criteria as beneficiaries, which causes social assistance recipients to be not on target. In this study, to overcome this problem a website-based calculation analysis has been designed using the Preference Selection Index (PSI) method that can classify the beneficiaries according to the expected criteria, and after this calculation analysis is implemented in this sub-district, the social assistance distribution process becomes easier and on target with accurate criteria.

Schools are A tool to gain formal education. Schools have rules that must be followed, these rules are called the Code of Conduct. This code of conduct is binding and has sanctions based on points for each violation. Each student is given a book that contains school rules that must be followed. If a violation is committed by a student, the teacher who processes it will mark the violation committed in the code of conduct book. This book is held by each student, of course this is very risky, if this book is lost it can be difficult for the teacher who will process other student violations if the student commits another violation. So because it is designed an application that can manage this order so that no longer need the code of conduct held by each student. Each violation will be input directly by the teacher who processes it into the application and the number of points will increase along with the number of violations committed by students

Terms such as 'compulsion' and 'addiction' are often used when describing young adults' response behaviors regarding texts and messages. Purpose of the Research: The present study documents response patterns for texts and messages in a higher education classroom context. Both the number of texts and messages responded to and the time taken between receipt and response were examined. These measures, as well as perceptions about multitasking and learning, were examined with respect to performance for lecture content. Students were assigned to either a texting or social media message condition. Within each of these conditions, students were either instructed to respond to texts/messages immediately or at their own discretion. Principal Results: Consistent with characterizations of habits/compulsions, the majority of participants in all conditions responded to most of the individual texts/messages. In no condition did all participants respond to all of the texts/messages. Students in the discretionary texting condition took longer to reply to texts/messages than those in the immediate social media condition for the vast majority of texts/messages received. Higher performance scores were found for test items not associated with the arrival of texts/messages. Students acknowledged some potential for multitasking to impact learning, however, these perceptions were not related to the volume or timing of text/message responses. Major Conclusions: This study identifies that students responding to texts/messages in the educational context is more complex than a simple habitual behaviour and that the pervasiveness may make the behavior a challenge even in live lecture contexts.

Several heritage cities face the need to modernize public lighting systems that are installed on the facades of buildings. The legal obstacles to intervene in heritage infrastructures create a different scenario than other cities. This circumstance raises the question if it is possible to install a modern, innovative lighting system, isolated from the electrical distribution system. This research analyzes the feasibility of modernizing the system using 304 mini photovoltaic generation plants, implementing a novel lighting system control process that indirectly uses sky brightness measurements based on current research at the Catholic University of Cuenca. As a case study, the Historic Center of the City of Cuenca-Ecuador, a World Heritage Site, whose system is made up of 1,252 luminaires, is analyzed. The results conclude that it is feasible to modernize the lighting service with the adoption of the proposed technologies and for control, a novel system based on indirect measurement of sky clarity has been developed. Finally, the political implications are analyzed in the framework of energy efficiency and modernization of the systems, as well as the recommendation to the political decision-makers. The study can be replicated in other cities of the world with similar characteristics.

L-Proline (Pro) is an essential amino acid additive in livestock and aquaculture feeds. Previously, we created a Pro overproducing Halomonas elongata HN6 by introducing an engineered salt-inducible Pro biosynthetic mCherry - proBm1AC operon and deleting a putA gene that encoded a Pro catabolic enzyme in the genome of H. elongata OUT30018. Here, we report a generation of a novel Pro overproducing H. elongata HN10 strain with improved salt tolerance and higher Pro yield by expressing the mCherry - proBm1AC operon and deleting the putA gene in the genome of a spontaneous mutant H. elongata Glutamic acid Over-Producing, which overproduces glutamic acid (Glu) that is a precursor for Pro biosynthesis. The optimal salt concentration for growth of H. elongata HN10 was found to be 7% to 8% w/v NaCl, and the average Pro yield of 166 mg/L was achieved when H. elongata HN10 was cultivated in M63 minimal medium containing 4% w/v glucose and 8% w/v NaCl. Las áreas verdes hoy en día representan componentes importantes para la organización, desarrollo y funcionamiento de las ciudades. Estos espacios permiten mantener y alcanzar un equilibrio ecológico entre la biodiversidad y el ser humano. El presente artículo se basó en el análisis del Índice Verde Urbano y crecimiento en la ciudad de Machala, Provincia de El Oro, en los periodos 2000-2018, con la finalidad de conocer cuáles son los valores adecuados de áreas verdes que deberían encontrarse en esta ciudad. Esta investigación posee un enfoque cuantitativo porque se recolectó y analizó datos estadísticos, y según su alcance es de carácter descriptivo debido a la predicción, identificación y relación entre dos o más variables. Para la recolección y procesamiento de información cartográfica se utilizaron los programas Google Earth Pro y ArcGIS, como base de datos se consideró el informe de proyección de población dado por el INEC y, por último, con el geo portal del MAAE se obtuvieron las capas de Cobertura de Uso de Tierras para definir el área de Zona Antrópica. Como resultado se obtuvo un total de 2,73 m2/Hab de IVU, lo que significa que no cumple con la recomendación dada por la Organización Mundial de la Salud.

We live in a bizarre world that is constantly changing. While thousands fall into a country demarcated below poverty lines, the world's top ten wealthiest men appeared to have more than doubled their fortunes during the epidemic. 'Davos Man: How the Billionaires Destroyed the World,' a book written by New York Times reporter Peter Goodman, explored how the ultra-rich are responsible for things like climate change, violence, and the collapse of democracy. Social workers seem to go along with fixing the society and reach the last impoverished man on the planet, unmindful of what appears to happen to resources. The following is a report on the topics that were discussed at a meeting of social workers from around the world on 15 March 2022, which the Brisbane Institute of Strengths-Based Practice organised. Journal Space and Culture, India was also a part of this endeavour. There were nearly one hundred social workers attending the conference and a few thousand through other social media outlets.

Abstract The goal of the present research was to ascertain the potential root endophytic fungi against Dematophora necatrix, Hartig, the causal pathogen of white root rot in apples; however, it has an expanded range of hosts across different fruit trees. Out of 36 endophytic fungi segregated from symptomless roots of apple, wheat, maize, marigold, cherry, and garlic plants, only 9 isolates showed inhibitory effect during preliminary screening and were further assayed under in vitro, pot, and field conditions against the white root rot pathogen/disease. Under in vitro conditions, maximum mycelial inhibition of 81.48% was obtained with the isolate Aspergillus aculeatus strain C2. Microscopic studies on interaction between fungal endophyte with hyphal tips of D. necatrix revealed various morphological abnormalities in the hyphae. In glasshouse conditions, seed treatment pursued by soil application with Crinipellis tabtim strain M8 isolate was highly effective and exhibited 93.55% disease control. Similarly, under field conditions, the overall maximum disease control was exhibited by Crinipellis tabtim strain M8 (84.95%). The most promising root endophytes that were identified rely on morphological and ITS sequence analysis. Root colonization assay was performed which revealed maximum endosphere and rhizosphere colonization with Crinipellis tabtim strain M8. Additionally, confocal microscopic illustrations of transverse sections of root cells tenanted by fungal endophytes as compared to untreated control suggested the persistence and establishment of endophytes in the endosphere of apple seedlings. These findings present the first report on colonization of apple roots by fungal root endophytes suggesting an alternative and sustainable approach for management of white root rot disease.

Se analiza la reparación integral y la cuantificación del daño inmaterial y el proyecto de vida, categorías jurídicas incorporadas en nuestra Constitución vigente, pues al momento de reparar estos daños, se observa que no existen parámetros para determinar su cuantificación, ni una forma que permita fijar una cantidad de dinero suficiente para resarcir el daño sufrido. El objetivo que se pretende alcanzar es establecer parámetros legales que garanticen una adecuada cuantificación del daño inmaterial y el proyecto de vida en la reparación integral. La metodología científica investigativa parte del paradigma cualitativo, sustentado en métodos tales como análisis y síntesis bibliográficos. Se concluye que, el simple razonamiento de un juez, no es suficiente para que se pueda determinar la cuantificación del daño inmaterial y proyecto de vida, siendo necesario el establecimiento de parámetros que permitan una reparación integral adecuada y una cuantificación justa.

This study, written collaboratively with a native Rwandan author, briefly recalls the historical reality from a Rwandan perspective and addresses the consequences of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Furthermore, the way the Western world was a passive spectator to the economic, political and social pillage and Genocide that occurred in the last part of the 20th Century, that was, in 1994, is discussed. How is reconciliation fostered in the communities across Rwanda? In particular, the sites and communities where massacres were held? Strong community ties and community being central to social work practice is observed in most East African countries, with no exception to Rwanda. While social work pedagogy is something new and possibly introduced by Western idiom, the tradition of welfare and mutual caring (would have been/ has been part) of the Kinyarwanda culture, language, and manner of living. What factors have worked for reconciliation, reconstruction of the society? How were people made to understand violence, and what did they replace it with? How is the post-genocide moral narrative shaped? The traditional indigenous processes that have been utilised, including the Gacaca, unique court process, are briefly discussed. How do people implant hate into people? By the same token, how do people put peace and love into people? These are a few questions that were central to this study throughout.

M-Learning holds great potential for supporting the positive educational outcomes of underserved Indigenous communities in the Canadian North, and even in urban centers, that are at risk of exclusion from affordable, high-quality learning experiences. The technical advantages of having mobile technology to deliver educational curricula and assess outcomes, however, must not overshadow the continuing need for culturally relevant teaching modalities that work for Indigenous learners. When used innovatively, mobile learning can be integrated successfully into a context of existing practices, beliefs, experiences, and values related to Indigenous epistemologies and pedagogies. These mobile technologies are not only helping Indigenous learners to develop new media aptitudes, they are providing an opportunity for learners and instructors to develop stronger links between formal and informal learning opportunities, building on the inherently mobile and contextual traditions of Indigenous peoples.

Rapid climate change and forecasted damage from fossil fuel combustion, forced researchers to investigate renewable and clean energy sources for the sustainable development of societies throughout the world. Biomass-based energy is one of the most important renewable energy sources for meeting daily energy needs, which are gaining in popularity daily. Gasification-based bioenergy production is an effective way to replace fossil fuels and reduce CO2 emissions. Even though biomass gasification has been studied extensively, there is still much opportunity for improvement in terms of high-quality syngas generation (high H2/CO ratio) and reduced tar formation. Furthermore, the presence of tar has a considerable impact on syngas quality. Downdraft gasifiers have recently shown a significant potential for producing high-quality syngas with lower tar concentrations. This article presents a comprehensive review on the advancement in biomass downdraft gasification technologies for high-quality synthesis gas. In addition, factors affecting syngas production and composition e.g., equivalency ratio, temperature, particle size, and gasification medium on synthesis gas generation are also comprehensively studied. The up-gradation and various applications of synthesis gas are also discussed in brief in this review article.

Accurately assessing groundwater storage changes in Niger is critical for long-term water resource management but is difficult due to sparse field data. We present a study of groundwater storage changes and recharge in Southern Niger, computed using data from NASA Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) mission. We compute a groundwater storage anomaly estimate by subtracting the surface water anomaly provided by the Global Land Data Assimilation System (GLDAS) model from the GRACE total water storage anomaly. We use a statistical model to fill gaps in the GRACE data. We analyze the time period from 2002 to 2021, which corresponds to the life span of the GRACE mission, and show that there is little change in groundwater storage from 2002–2010, but a steep rise in storage from 2010–2021, which can partially be explained by a period of increased precipitation. We use the Water Table Fluctuation method to estimate recharge rates over this period and compare these values with previous estimates. We show that for the time range analyzed, groundwater resources in Niger are not being overutilized and could be further developed for beneficial use. Our estimated recharge rates compare favorably to previous estimates and provide managers with the data required to understand how much additional water could be extracted in a sustainable manner.

We share two observations based on what we have seen in India. First, that the hegemonic politics in India ushered in institutional and structural inequalities in their wake and second, that the political leadership continued to be aspirational irrespective of ideologies desiring to scale up in the hierarchy of global economic and political power. These two observations pertain to the contemporary history of five decades of development in India. As a result of the above two observations, we make a further two observations that for the Aām Aādmi (the common man), the political parties that sit in the government and their respective ideologies do not matter. And for the state and the political elites, the negative consequences such as marginalisation, exclusion and desperation of the common folks that emanate from the models chosen for development do not matter. It is in such contexts, social activists argue for a legitimate space for the vying intersects of poverty, caste, class, occupations, habitats amidst such motivated globalisation. They also continue to raise difficult conversations around patriarchy, religious hierarchy, bonded labour, and the girl child. One such social activist that was concerned about all the above issues was Swami Agnivesh. He was not antigovernment, anti-democracy, anti-institutional, anti-hierarchy, anti-religious. He sought to restore a new and deeper meaning of freedom (democracy), a new meaning of hierarchy, social care, and even a new definition of spirituality that is social. He was a man who never stopped dreaming of humanising India. In this article, we reminisce about our association with Swami Agnivesh and attempt to espouse his thought based on our hearing, reading, and reflection. Briefly, we present his life, achievements, and social activism, and more importantly, we attempt to interpret his conception of social spirituality and the ‘power of love’.

An argument about indigenous social work education often surfaces in South Asian schools of social work. In this study, central concerns around the indigenous argument, together with a review of the pervasive influence of the western model of social work in Asia is undertaken. The three author- research team, utilised a methodology that featured a desk review and an analysis of communications with select South Asian scholars and academics that were respondents for the study. Additionally, the authors present their personal reflections, that prudently address their positionality and reflexivity. The primary finding in this research paper is that the legacy of Western-influenced social work education is thriving within the region, despite criticism from different quarters about its effectiveness. The secondary finding is the admittance by respondent academics in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India and Nepal that relevant to their societal context, limited adaptations have been introduced and are working in their respective countries. The current research provided an opportunity to research participants to view and summarily reject claims by certain bogies that western influence in social work is solely responsible for lack of cultural appropriation within the curriculum in South Asia. The study suggests that there is a lot that can take place by way of adaptation without sacrificing the cultural elements while rearranging the social work curriculum within the region. The authors strongly advocate a blended approach as a suitable course of moderation in the re-construction attempts of social work futures in South Asia.

Cuando el Movimiento Moderno llegó a Latinoamérica en los años 40, la comprensión de sus atributos universales propició, en muchos casos, una adaptación al contexto y el desarrollo de características locales. Cuenca, Ecuador, no fue la excepción. Durante la década de los 60, el arquitecto uruguayo Gilberto Gatto Sobral diseñó dos edificios institucionales en el Centro Histórico: la Casa de la Cultura y el Palacio Municipal. Sin embargo, al pasar de los años la calidad de la obra moderna del siglo XX comenzó a decaer, lo cual llevo a que sea poco reconocida y estudiada. A sabiendas que la valoración patrimonial de un inmueble requiere un análisis sobre componentes estéticos, históricos, sociales, etc.; la presente investigación propone un aporte, si bien leve, al valor estético desde un punto de vista arquitectónico y su relación con el entorno construido. Surge, de este modo, la pregunta ¿son la Casa de Cultura y el Palacio Municipal obras modernas? una respuesta implicó el análisis de casos de estudio del siglo XX, sobre las connotaciones de la implantación de obras modernas en contextos históricos; así como la revisión de las herramientas existentes de valoración del INPC (Instituto nacional de patrimonio cultural) y el Docomomo (Documentación y conservación de la arquitectura y urbanismo del Movimiento Moderno). Es así que, se propone una ficha de documentación y valoración que reúne nociones de catalogación, clasificación y, de hecho, valoración en relación al contexto, del Palacio Municipal y la Casa de la Cultura. Aunque los orígenes de esta ficha se originan en estas dos obras, pueden ampliarse a un espectro mayor de proyectos de Gilberto Gatto Sobral, e incluso trascenderlos; al dirigirse hacia la inserción de obras modernas en centros históricos y, en general, a manzanas consolidadas de primeros ensanches urbanos.
