1. Research and analysis of selected LED lamps with E27 base in the field of harmonic distortion

Abstract

The article presents the results of testing of three compact LED lamps with the E27 base. Power quality parameters were subject to the testing in the circuit which powered the LED light sources. Particular attention was paid to higher harmonics of current and the total harmonic distortion. Risks which could follow from the application of the great number of electroluminescent light sources were discussed. The research have been conducted. Then, the obtained testing results for the respective LED lamps were analyzed in comparison with the requirements of the IEC 61000-3-2:2014-10 Standard [1].

Abstract

Featured Application: The article materials can be used in modernization works of lighting systems in commercial facilities. The paper deals with electromagnetic disturbances in the form of current higher harmonics, which are generated by LED lighting elements. It presents the problems related to the formation and impact of higher harmonics in the electrical systems of commercial facilities. The results of tests and analyses of current distortions for two different LED lamps are included, and these are in reference to the parameters set out in the normal applicable standards. A system was then proposed to improve the quality of energy in the mains of commercial facilities in the form of a two-stage power supply. Tests of the systems with the aforementioned LED lamps were conducted and commented upon after introduction of the two-stage power supply. Abstract

In the paper analyzed levels of higher harmonics of voltage and current, which generates a light installation in the lobby of an office building. In the luminaires were used as a source light emitting diodes. These measurements allowed to determine which elements of the lighting system cause the most disruption. Of these elements will be carried out further investigations.

The article presents the results of energy efficiency tests performed in the lobby of the JET OFFICE office building located in Poznań on the basis of the PN-EN 15193 standard. It characterizes the most important factors on the basis of which the analysis of the energy efficiency of the lighting was performed, and presents specific calculations.

Abstract

The article presents a detailed analysis of the TSI (Turbo Straight Injection) gasoline direct injection system used in the vehicles manufactured by Volkswagen Group. The work presents the characteristic construction elements of this type of engine together with the descriptions of their influence on its operation. Next, it presents the results of engine power, torque, pollution emission levels, and fuel consumption tests conducted for the Skoda Superb 1.8 TSI and a comparison of the results with the results obtained for an equivalent engine with indirect fuel injection – Skoda Superb 1.8 T.

Abstract

The publication discusses and compares traditional fluorescent lamps, which are still in use for the most part, with modern electroluminescent lamps, which are being more and more often installed. An energy balance was prepared for both types of lighting. Then, a cost-effectiveness analysis was made to present the features of LED lighting in relation to the current prices of illumination equipment and electric energy. Finally, the article presents conclusions based on the analyses.
