The traditional filter weighing method has a cumbersome operation process, a long detection cycle, and a low degree of automation. Although it has high accuracy, it cannot meet the needs of real-time detection of dust concentration. An automatic dust mass concentration detection device was designed, and the temperature and humidity compensation model was established to replace the steps of filter membrane drying after sampling in the manual weighing method, so as to further reduce the dust concentration detection time and the volume of the dust concentration detection device. The prototype device was built and the experiment was conducted. The test results showed that the standard deviation of the CCZ-20A dust sampler commonly used in coal mines and the converted concentration of dust detected by this device was within 5%, and the fitting correlation of the experimental data under the univariate linear regression fitting analysis was good. In order to further improve the detection accuracy of the device, an error compensation method based on the combination of Fourier series, linear fitting and periodic fitting was studied, and the concentration calculation process of the device was established and brought into the original data, and the detection concentration error of the device was concentrated from the original (−7.20%, −1.26%) to (−3.64%, 3.65%). After the introduction of the device concentration calculation process, several comparative experiments were carried out, and the experimental results showed that the detection errors of the device concentration were within this range, which verified the reliability of the device concentration calculation process. The device shortens the time required for dust concentration detection, and at the same time controls the detection error within a reasonable range, which provides a reference for the research of filter membrane weighing method in the online monitoring of dust concentration.

Abstract The elevated level of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in colon cancer hinders complete cure with a single therapy. However, excessive H2S also offers a treatment target. A multifunctional cascade bioreactor based on the H2S-responsive mesoporous Cu2Cl(OH)3-loaded hypoxic prodrug tirapazamine (TPZ), in which the outer layer was coated with hyaluronic acid (HA) to form TPZ@Cu2Cl(OH)3-HA (TCuH) nanoparticles (NPs), demonstrated a synergistic antitumor effect through combining the H2S-driven cuproptosis and mild photothermal therapy. The HA coating endowed the NPs with targeting delivery to enhance drug accumulation in the tumor tissue. The presence of both the high level of H2S and the near-infrared II (NIR II) irradiation achieved the in situ generation of photothermic agent copper sulfide (Cu9S8) from the TCuH, followed with the release of TPZ. The depletion of H2S stimulated consumption of oxygen, resulting in hypoxic state and mitochondrial reprogramming. The hypoxic state activated prodrug TPZ to activated TPZ (TPZ-ed) for chemotherapy in turn. Furthermore, the exacerbated hypoxia inhibited the synthesis of adenosine triphosphate, decreasing expression of heat shock proteins and subsequently improving the photothermal therapy. The enriched Cu2+ induced not only cuproptosis by promoting lipoacylated dihydrolipoamide S-acetyltransferase (DLAT) heteromerization but also performed chemodynamic therapy though catalyzing H2O2 to produce highly toxic hydroxyl radicals ·OH. Therefore, the nanoparticles TCuH offer a versatile platform to exert copper-related synergistic antitumor therapy.

This study was conducted to explore the regulatory mechanism of leucine (Leu) on lipid metabolism of finishing pigs. Twenty-four Duroc × Landrace × Large cross pigs with an average body weight of 68.33 ± 0.97 kg were randomly allocated into 3 treatment groups with 8 replicates per group (1 pig per replicate). Background: Nuclear erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2), a transcription factor, is critically involved in the regulation of oxidative stress and inflammation. However, the role of endothelial Nrf2 in atherogenesis has yet to be defined. In addition, how endothelial Nrf2 is activated and whether Nrf2 can be targeted for the prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis is not explored. Methods: RNA-sequencing and single-cell RNA sequencing analysis of mouse atherosclerotic aortas were used to identify the differentially expressed genes. In vivo endothelial cell (EC)-specific activation of Nrf2 was achieved by injecting adeno-associated viruses into ApoE−/− mice, while EC-specific knockdown of Nrf2 was generated in Cdh5CreCas9floxed-stopApoE−/− mice. Results: Endothelial inflammation appeared as early as on day 3 after feeding of a high cholesterol diet (HCD) in ApoE−/− mice, as reflected by mRNA levels, immunostaining and global mRNA profiling, while the immunosignal of the end-product of lipid peroxidation (LPO), 4-hydroxynonenal (4-HNE), started to increase on day 10. TNF-α, 4-HNE, and erastin (LPO inducer), activated Nrf2 signaling in human ECs by increasing the mRNA and protein expression of Nrf2 target genes. Knockdown of endothelial Nrf2 resulted in augmented endothelial inflammation and LPO, and accelerated atherosclerosis in Cdh5CreCas9floxed-stopApoE−/− mice. By contrast, both EC-specific and pharmacological activation of Nrf2 inhibited endothelial inflammation, LPO, and atherogenesis. Conclusions: Upon HCD feeding in ApoE−/− mice, endothelial inflammation is an earliest event, followed by the appearance of LPO. EC-specific activation of Nrf2 inhibits atherosclerosis while EC-specific knockdown of Nrf2 results in the opposite effect. Pharmacological activators of endothelial Nrf2 may represent a novel therapeutic strategy for the treatment of atherosclerosis.

Tumor metabolic reprogramming requires high levels of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to maintain treatment resistance, which poses major challenges to chemotherapy and photothermal therapy. Especially, high levels of ATP promote copper ion efflux for limiting the curative effect of cuproptosis. Here, an H2S-responsive mesoporous Cu2Cl(OH)3-loading chemotherapeutic cisplatin (CDDP) was synthesized, and the final nanoparticle, CDDP@Cu2Cl(OH)3-CDs (CDCuCDs), was encapsulated by electrostatic action with carbon dots (CDs). CDCuCDs reacted with overproduction H2S in colon tumor to produce photothermic copper sulfide for photothermal therapy. CDDP was released by lysis to achieve chemotherapeutic effects. Importantly, CDDP elevated H2O2 levels in cells through a cascade reaction and continuously transforms H2O2 into highly cytotoxic •OH through chemodynamic therapy between H2O2 and Cu+, which enables nanoparticles to generate •OH and improve the chemotherapeutic efficacy. Highly toxic •OH disrupts mitochondrial homeostasis, prohibiting it from performing normal energy-supplying functions. Down-regulated ATP inhibits heat shock protein expression, which promotes the therapeutic effect of mild photothermal therapy and reduces the efflux of intracellular copper ions, thus improving the therapeutic effect of cuproptosis. Our research provides a potential therapeutic strategy using overproduction H2S responses in tumors, allowing tumor microenvironment-activated •OH nanogenerators to promote tumor energy remodeling for cancer treatment.

BackgroundThe DTaP-Hib and DTaP-IPV/Hib combination vaccine can be used as a substitute for the diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis combined vaccine (DTaP). We aimed to evaluate the safety of multi-component vaccines containing DTaP by analyzing the reporting rates and characteristics of adverse events following immunization (AEFIs) in Linping District during the years 2019 to 2022.MethodsWe obtained data of AEFI and vaccination from the National AEFI Surveillance System of China and Zhejiang Municipal Immunization Information Management System, respectively, during 2019–2022 for a descriptive, epidemiological analysis.ResultsThe total number of AEFI reported following vaccinations with DTaP-containing combination vaccines was 802 in Linping District from 2019 to 2022. The overall reporting rates of AEFIs following DTaP, DTaP-Hib, and DTaP-IPV/Hib vaccinations were 445.72 (537 cases), 536.29 (45 cases), and 306.13 (220 cases) per 100,000 doses in Linping District from 2019 to 2022, respectively. Only one case of a serious AEFI following DTaP vaccination, with a reporting rate of 0.83 per 100,000 doses. The composition ratio of vaccine product-related reactions for DTaP, DTaP-Hib, and DTaP-IPV/Hib were 99.81, 97.78, and 100.00%, respectively. The composition ratio of coincidental events for DTaP and DTaP-Hib were 0.19 and 2.22%, respectively. The reporting rates of total AEFIs for DTaP-IPV/Hib were lower than for DTaP. The reporting rate of local induration for DTaP-Hib was lower than for DTaP, and the reporting rates of local redness & swelling and local induration for DTaP-IPV/Hib were both lower than for DTaP. DTaP-IPV/Hib had a higher proportion of AEFIs in first quarter compared to DTaP. The reporting rate after the second dose of DTaP-Hib was higher than that of DTaP, and the reporting rates of AEFIs after the first dose and third dose of DTaP-IPV/Hib were lower than DTaP.ConclusionThe reported AEFIs to multi-component vaccines containing DTaP components during 2019–2022 in Linping District were mainly mild vaccine reactions. DTaP-containing combination vaccines demonstrated a good safety profile.

Abstract With the development of deep mining of coal resources, the problem of deep roadway management is becoming increasingly prominent. This study aims to analyze the deformation and failure mechanism of deep-buried soft rock roadway under the influence of mining. Taking the material roadway of 3205 working face in Xin’an Coal Mine as the engineering background, this study analyzed the characteristics of roadway deformation and failure and its influencing factors through field investigation. This study firstly expounded the principles of graded continuous anchorage for roadway roof and then proposed a new support scheme whose feasibility was verified by numerical simulation. Field verification shows that the optimized support scheme can effectively control the deformation of roadway surrounding rock. Specifically, the deformation of roof and two sides is reduced by 91% and 50% respectively; the maximum crack depth decreases from 9.56 to 3.26 m, indicating that the roof crack development has been significantly inhibited. The new support scheme builds a solid anchored rock beam structure with thick roof layer, which can maintain the long-term stable bearing capacity of deep-buried composite roof roadway. This study provides a solution for the surrounding rock control of deep soft rock roadway.

To address the practical application challenges of conductive polymer composites (CPCs) in portable electronics equipment, such as their low thermal conductivity (TC) and poor electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding effectiveness (EMI SE), it is crucial to improve their TC, electrical conductivity(σ), and EMI SE of CPCs. In this work, we present a conducting composite made of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) and carbon nanostructures (CNS) with a unique segregated structure. This structure is achieved through a simple high-speed mechanical mixing and compression molding process. Microscopy characteristics demonstrated that both the matrix and segregated conductive network were in-situ oriented along the compress direction of UHMWPE granules under the static hot-pressing field. CNS are compacted together at the interface between UHMWPE granules to form an oriented and interconnected conductive pathways at low CNS loading levels. The resultant UHMWPE/CNS composites with 10 wt% CNS content exhibits excellent EMI shielding performance, with EMI SE of 60.7 dB (at X-band), high conductivity of 2.42 S/cm, and acceptable thermal conductivity of 0.7217 (W/m K). High EMI shielding performance and absorption dominant mechanism are beneficial from the unique segregated structure, and individual CNS coated UHMWPE granule are similar to an electromagnetic cage. Additionally, the ultimate tensile strength of the composite remains high at 37.6 MPa even at 10.0 wt% CNS loading, and it shows effective thermal stability. These properties are attributed to the strong interfacial bonding between CNS and UHMWPE. These materials have potential applications in efficient thermal management and EMI shielding for high-performance intelligent electrical devices.

Ferulic acid is a ubiquitous ingredient in cereals, vegetables, fruits and Chinese herbal medicines. Due to the ferulic phenolic nucleus coupled to an extended side chain, it readily forms a resonant-stable phenoxy radical, which explains its potent antioxidant potential. In addition, it also plays an important role in anti-cancer, pro-angiogenesis, anti-thrombosis, neuroprotection, food preservation, anti-aging, and improving the antioxidant performance of livestock and poultry. This review provides a comprehensive summary of the structure, mechanism of antioxidation, application status, molecular mechanism of pharmacological activity, existing problems, and application prospects of ferulic acid and its derivatives. The aim is to establish a theoretical foundation for the utilization of ferulic acid in medicine, food, cosmetics, livestock, and poultry.

Improving agricultural green total factor productivity (AGTFP) is the key to achieving sustainable agricultural development and empowering agricultural modernization. Based on the panel data of 30 provincial levels in China from 2011 to 2021, AGTFP is measured using the non-expected MinDS super-efficiency—MetaFrontier Malmquist model, and the impact of environmental regulation (ER) and digital finance on AGTFP is analyzed using the spatial Durbin model (SDM). The results show the following: (1) ER can increase local AGTFP and has a positive spatial spillover effect. Command-based ER has the highest impact on AGTFP, followed by market-incentive and public-voluntary ER. (2) Digital finance has a direct promotional effect on local AGTFP, while it has an inhibitory effect on AGTFP in neighboring regions due to the siphon effect. (3) Digital finance is an important regulatory variable affecting AGTFP concerning command-based, market-incentive and public-voluntary ER. Digital finance plays a significantly moderating role in the effectiveness of the three ERs on AGTFP, with the market-incentive ER being the highest in eastern China. Nonetheless, digital finance has a significantly moderating effect on the effectiveness of command-based and public-voluntary ER on AGTFP, with command-based ER being higher in central China. Meanwhile, digital finance only plays a significantly moderating role in the effectiveness of command-based environment regulation on AGTFP in western China. This study provides valuable reference for policymakers concerning agriculture green production in varied regions.

Summary: Ketamine is a treatment for both refractory depression and chronic pain syndromes. In order to explore ketamine’s potential mechanism of action and whether ketamine or its metabolites cross the blood brain barrier, we examined the pharmacokinetics of ketamine and its metabolites—norketamine (NK), dehydronorketamine (DHNK), and hydroxynorketamines (HNKs)—in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and plasma, as well as in an exploratory proteomic analysis in the CSF of nine healthy volunteers who received ketamine intravenously (0.5 mg/kg IV). ABSTRACTTeachers played an important role on the transmission of influenza in schools and communities. The study aims to investigate the influenza vaccination coverage and the factors determining flu vaccination acceptance among teachers in Hangzhou, China. A total of 1039 junior high school teachers in Hangzhou were recruited. The self-made questionnaire was used to investigate the influenza vaccine coverage among teachers and the influencing factors of influenza vaccination acceptance. Univariate analysis using the chi-square test and multivariable analysis using binary logistic regression were conducted to determine the relative predictors. The Influenza vaccine coverage among teachers was 5.9% (62/1039). 52.9% of teachers had the intention to receive influenza vaccine, 25.3% (247/977)/21.8% (213/977) of participants was hesitant/did not have the intention to get influenza vaccine. The top three sources for teachers to gain knowledge about influenza were website (72%), TV/radio (66.1%) and social media (58%). Whether get influenza vaccination before, knowledge about influenza and influenza vaccine, the beliefs for the likelihood of catching flu, the severity of getting flu, the effectiveness of influenza vaccine, the possibility of side effects after vaccination, and the troublesome of vaccination, doctors’ recommendation, as well as the situation of vaccination among other teachers were the associated factors of influenza vaccination acceptance. The influenza vaccination coverage was low but the intentions were relatively high among junior high school teachers. Future research should focus on the relationship between vaccination acceptance and behavior to increase influenza vaccination rates.

Social physics (or sociophysics) offers new research perspectives for addressing social issues in various domains. In this study, we explore the decision-making process of doctoral graduates during their transition from graduation to employment, drawing on the ideas of sociophysics. We divide the process into two decision steps and propose a generative model based on appropriate assumptions. This model effectively reproduces empirical data, allowing us to derive essential parameters that influence the decision-making process from empirical observations. Through a comparison of the best-fit parameters, we discover that doctoral graduates in business disciplines tend to exhibit more concentrated employment choices, while those in computer science and history disciplines demonstrate a greater diversity of options. Furthermore, we observe that universities consider factors beyond rankings when selecting doctoral graduates.

Abstract The piRNA pathway is essential for female fertility in golden hamsters and likely humans, but not in mice. However, the role of individual PIWIs in mammalian reproduction remains poorly understood outside of mice. Here, we describe the expression profiles, subcellular localization, and knockout-associated reproductive defects for all four PIWIs in golden hamsters. In female golden hamsters, PIWIL1 and PIWIL3 are highly expressed throughout oogenesis and early embryogenesis, while knockout of PIWIL1 leads to sterility, and PIWIL3 deficiency results in subfertility with lagging zygotic development. PIWIL1 can partially compensate for TE silencing in PIWIL3 knockout females, but not vice versa. PIWIL1 and PIWIL4 are the predominant PIWIs expressed in adult and postnatal testes, respectively, while PIWIL2 is present at both stages. Loss of any PIWI expressed in testes leads to sterility and severe but distinct spermatogenesis disorders. These findings illustrate the non-redundant regulatory functions of PIWI-piRNAs in gametogenesis and early embryogenesis in golden hamsters, facilitating study of their role in human fertility.

Abstract The indiscriminate utilization of nondegradable polyethylene terephthalate (PET)‐based products has triggered serious environmental pollution that has to be resolved vigorously. A simple synthesis of N‐doped carbon nanotubes from recycled PET (NCNTsr‐PET) was developed by a nitric acid‐assisted hydrothermal method. Experimental results and theoretical calculations show that the intrinsic defects in CNTsr‐PET would induce N‐doping by NH3 generated from nitric acid during the hydrothermal process, thus producing the NCNTsr‐PET. The life cycle assessment proves that the developed method for N‐doped CNTs using r‐PET as the carbon source is more environmentally friendly than the conventional chemical vapor deposition using acetylene as the carbon source. As a typical application, the NCNTsr‐PET delivered an impressive sodium storage capacity with an ultralong lifespan. This work not only provides a new route to upcycling waste plastics into valuable carbonaceous materials in an ecofriendly manner, but also reveals a basic understanding of the N‐doping mechanism in carbonaceous materials.

The loss of contact inhibition is a key step during carcinogenesis. The Hippo–Yes-associated protein (Hippo/YAP) pathway is an important regulator of cell growth in a cell density–dependent manner. However, how Hippo signaling senses cell density in this context remains elusive. Here, we report that high cell density induced the phosphorylation of spectrin α chain, nonerythrocytic 1 (SPTAN1), a plasma membrane–stabilizing protein, to recruit NUMB endocytic adaptor protein isoforms 1 and 2 (NUMB1/2), which further sequestered microtubule affinity–regulating kinases (MARKs) in the plasma membrane and rendered them inaccessible for phosphorylation and inhibition of the Hippo kinases sterile 20–like kinases MST1 and MST2 (MST1/2). WW45 interaction with MST1/2 was thereby enhanced, resulting in the activation of Hippo signaling to block YAP activity for cell contact inhibition. Importantly, low cell density led to SPTAN1 dephosphorylation and NUMB cytoplasmic location, along with MST1/2 inhibition and, consequently, YAP activation. Moreover, double KO of NUMB and WW45 in the liver led to appreciable organ enlargement and rapid tumorigenesis. Interestingly, NUMB isoforms 3 and 4, which have a truncated phosphotyrosine-binding (PTB) domain and are thus unable to interact with phosphorylated SPTAN1 and activate MST1/2, were selectively upregulated in liver cancer, which correlated with YAP activation. We have thus revealed a SPTAN1/NUMB1/2 axis that acts as a cell density sensor to restrain cell growth and oncogenesis by coupling external cell-cell contact signals to intracellular Hippo signaling.

Abstract Developing electrodes with long lifespan and wide‐temperature adaptability is crucial important to achieve high‐performance sodium/potassium‐ion batteries (SIBs/PIBs). Herein, the SnSe2‐SePAN composite was fabricated for extraordinarily stable and wide‐temperature range SIBs/PIBs through a coupling strategy between controllable electrospinning and selenylation, in which SnSe2 nanoparticles were uniformly encapsulated in the SePAN matrix. The unique structure of SnSe2‐SePAN not only relieves drastic volume variation but also guarantees the structural integrity of the composite, endowing SnSe2‐SePAN with excellent sodium/potassium storage properties. Consequently, SnSe2‐SePAN displays a high sodium storage capacity and excellent feasibility in a wide working temperature range (−15 to 60°C: 300 mAh g−1/700 cycles/−15°C; 352 mAh g−1/100 cycles/60°C at 0.5 A g−1). At room temperature, it delivers a record‐ultralong cycling life of 192 mAh g−1 that exceeds 66 000 cycles even at 15 A g−1. It exhibits extremely superb electrochemical performance in PIBs (157 mAh g−1 exceeding 15 000 cycles at 5 A g−1). The ex situ XRD and TEM results attest the conversion‐alloy mechanism of SnSe2‐SePAN. Also, computational calculations verify that SePAN takes an important role in intensifying the electrochemical performance of SnSe2‐SePAN electrode. Therefore, this study breaks new ground on solving the polyselenide dissolution issue and improving the wide temperature workable performance of sodium/potassium storage.

Prior weights are necessary for the application of ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operators, but obtaining them is expensive and contentious, which restricts the application of operators. To address the weighting issue, the weight space is used to “replace” the conventional weight vector, and the operator comparison is then extended to a partial order comparison on the weight space. The results show that the partial order OWA operator can be used as long as the weight order is clear, that is, there is no need to take accurate values. The evaluation result is represented by a Hasse diagram. The partial order OWA operator retains the properties of the conventional operator, and the running cost is low. It can be seen from the example that the partial order OWA operator solves the time weight problem. It can compare, sort, and optimize data using the Hasse graph, and it can also implement hierarchical clustering. The comparison results have strong robustness.

Abstract Air brake systems are critical equipment for railway trains, which affects the running safety of the trains significantly. To study air braking characteristics of long freight trains, an approach for simulating air brake systems based on fluid dynamics theory was proposed. The structures and working mechanisms of locomotive and wagon air brakes are introduced, and mathematical models of the pipes, brake valves, reservoirs or chambers, cylinders, etc., are presented. Besides, the dynamic motions of parts in the main valve are considered. The simulation model of the whole air brake system is then formulated, and the solving method based on the finite-difference method is used. New efficient pipe boundary conditions without iterations are developed for brake pipes and branch pipes, which can achieve higher computational efficiency. The proposed approach for simulating the air brake system is validated by comparing with published measured data. Simulation results of different train formations indicate that models that consider the dynamic behavior of brake pipes are recommended for predicting the characteristics of long trains under service braking conditions.

Organic solid waste is a renewable resource as it can be transformed into a valuable product through various technologies. Composting is considered to be the most economical and effective technology for treating organic solid waste, but excessive amounts of heavy metals in organic solid waste compost are harmful to the environment. The current focus is on the addition of heavy metal passivators to organic solid waste to reduce the mobility and biotoxicity of heavy metals in situ or ex situ. The aims of this paper are to provide an overview of heavy metal passivators and their passivation mechanisms in the field of organic solid waste composting and to provide a reference for research on the control of heavy metal pollution in the treatment of organic solid waste.

Abstract Manganese‐based compounds have been regarded as the most promising cathode materials for rechargeable aqueous zinc‐ion batteries (AZIBs) due to their high theoretical capacity. Unfortunately, aqueous Zn–manganese dioxide (MnO2) batteries have poor cycling stability and are unstable across a wide temperature range, severely limiting their commercial application. Cationic preinsertion and defect engineering might increase active sites and electron delocalization, which render the high mobility of the MnO2 cathode when operated across a wide temperature range. In the present work, for the first time, we successfully introduced lithium ions and ammonium ions into manganese dioxide (LNMOd@CC) by an electrodeposition combined with low‐temperature calcination route using spent lithium manganate as a raw material. The obtained LNMOd@CC exhibits a high reversible capacity (300 mAh g−1 at 1 A g−1) and an outstanding long lifespan of over 9000 cycles at 5.0 A g−1 with a capacity of 152 mAh g−1, which is significant for both the high‐value recycling of spent lithium manganate batteries and high‐performance modification for MnO2 cathodes. Besides, the LNMOd@CC demonstrates excellent electrochemical performance across wide temperature ranges (0–50°C). This strategy simultaneously alleviates the shortage of raw materials and fabricates electrodes for new battery systems. This work provides a new strategy for recovering cathode materials of spent lithium‐ion batteries and designing aqueous multivalent ion batteries.

Grain growth directly influences the plasticity and strength of Mg alloys. As the grain size decreases from the microscale to the nanoscale, the plasticity of Mg alloys continually increases, whereas the strength first increases and later decreases. These trends are observed because the plastic deformation mechanism changes from dislocation–twinning dominance to grain boundary dominance. In this study, the factors influencing grain growth, such as the temperature of plastic deformation/annealing, second-phase particles and solute atoms, are examined to aid effective control of the grain size. Additionally, the mechanisms of grain growth, typically induced by strain and thermal activation, are clarified. Strain-induced grain boundary migration is attributable to the difference in the strain energy stored in adjacent grains with high-density dislocations. Heat-induced grain boundary migration is driven by the difference in the energy of the grain boundary/subgrain boundary and boundary curvature. Abnormal grain growth can be induced by anisotropy of the strain energy, anisotropy of the grain boundary mobility, depinning of the second phase and high misorientation gradient.

Abstract Using biodegradable blending materials is one of the most effective ways to address plastic pollution but it is hindered by its poor interfacial interaction along with high costs. Herein, an envirionmentally friendly filler, camellia seed powder (CSP)−a byproduct of camellia seed after defatting, is reported, which is first served as a compatibilizer in polylactic acid (PLA)/polybutylene succinate (PBS) blends without any other aids or complicated pretreatment, effectively toughening the PLA/PBS blends due to a better interfacial interaction. The results show that the toughness of composites increases with CSP content. With the addition of 30 phr CSP, its impact strength and elongation at break increase by 44.31% and 148.42%, respectively, as compared with the blend without CSP. The combined effects of improved interfacial bonding, reduced particle size of PBS and efficient stress transfer are responsible for the toughness enhancement. The compatibilization mechanism is proposed that ─COOH groups in PLA and PBS react with ─NH2 in CSP. The above finding of CSP as a compatibilizer provides a facile and inexpensive strategy in the fabrication of high‐performance biodegradable materials.

Background13-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide conjugate vaccine (PCV13) has been introduced in Hangzhou since 2017, whereas its current immunization state in children is not clear. Therefore, this study aims to describe the PCV13 vaccination distribution among children born in Hangzhou from 2017 to 2021 to provide data for reducing vaccination differences among different populations.MethodsDescriptive epidemiology was used for data analysis and PCV13 vaccination related information of children was collected from children vaccination management system of Zhejiang Province (ZJCVMS).ResultsAmong the 649,949 children born in Hangzhou from 2017 to 2021, 169,230 were vaccinated with an average full course vaccination rate of 26.0%. The full course vaccination rates in 5 years were different (P = 0.000) with an increasing trend (Pfortrend < 0.01). The first dose vaccination rates were different in 5 years (P = 0.000) with an increasing trend (Pfortrend < 0.01). The distribution of age when first dose PCV13 was administered varied, most people at 2 months and least people at 5 months. The full course vaccination rate varied by areas, highest in central urban areas and lowest in remote areas respectively (all P-value < 0.05). Overall, the full course vaccination rate of PCV13 was higher in the registered residence population than the non-registered residence population, which was 136,693 (31.4%) and 32,537 (15.1%) respectively (P = 0.000). The full course vaccination rates were the same between men and women (P = 0.502), which was 87,844 for men (26.0%) and 81,386 for women (26.1%).ConclusionAlthough the number of people who received PCV13 full course vaccination and received the first dose vaccination showed yearly increasing trends in Hangzhou, the full course vaccination rate for the whole population was relatively low. In addition, the PCV13 vaccination rates also differed by geography and household registration status. Measures such as expanding vaccination publicity or including national immunization should be taken to increase vaccination rates and reduce the differences in vaccination among groups with different characteristics.

Introduction:Spodoptera frugiperda is an important nomadic agricultural pest with a diverse host range and resistance against several insecticides. The current study investigated the life history traits of two strains of the field-collected population against chlorantraniliprole using an age-stage two-sex life table.Method: For this, we established the chlorantraniliprole-susceptible (Crp-SUS G12), and chlorantraniliprole-reduced susceptible (Crp-RES G12) strains derived from the sixth generation of the QJ-20 population having a resistance ratio (RR) of 10.39-fold, compared with the reported susceptible population.Results: The results showed that the chlorantraniliprole-reduced susceptible strain attained a 4.0-fold RR, while the chlorantraniliprole-susceptible strain attained an RR of 0.85-fold, having overlapped fiducial limits (FLs) with the referred susceptible baseline. Meanwhile, the present study revealed that the development time of the susceptible strain was significantly longer than that of the reduced susceptible strain. Similarly, the mean longevity, adult pre-oviposition period (APOP), and total pre-oviposition period (TPOP) of the female chlorantraniliprole-susceptible strain were considerably longer than those of the female chlorantraniliprole-reduced susceptible strain. Contrarily, the population parameters, including the intrinsic rate of increase (r), finite rate of increase (λ), and net reproductive rate (R), of the chlorantraniliprole-susceptible strain were considerably lower than those of the chlorantraniliprole-reduced susceptible strain, while the mean generation time (T) of the chlorantraniliprole-susceptible strain was substantially longer than the chlorantraniliprole-reduced susceptible strain. The age-stage characteristic survival rate (sxj) and age-stage characteristic life expectancy (exj) of the chlorantraniliprole-susceptible strain were longer than those of the chlorantraniliprole-reduced susceptible strain, but the age-stage-specific reproductive value (vxj) of the chlorantraniliprole-susceptible strain was shorter than that of the chlorantraniliprole-reduced susceptible strain. Moreover, the contents of vitellogenin (Vg) and VgR in the chlorantraniliprole-reduced susceptible strain were higher than those in the chlorantraniliprole-susceptible strain.Discussion: These findings showed that reducing susceptibility to chlorantraniliprole promoted population growth in S. frugiperda. Therefore, this study could provide conceptual support for the integrated pest management (IPM) approach to control S. frugiperda in the field.

The next-generation satellite Internet Protocol (IP) router is required to achieve tens of millions of route lookups per second, since satellite Internet services based on low Earth orbit (LEO) constellations have become a reality. Due to the limitation of hardware resources on satellites and the high reliability requirements for equipment, a new satellite IP route lookup architecture is proposed in this paper. The proposed architecture uses a Bloom and cuckoo filter-based structure called cuckoo Bloom hybrid filter (CBHF), which guarantees only one off-chip memory access per lookup, to accelerate the Prefix-Route Trie (PR-Trie) algorithm. The proposed architecture has been evaluated through both a behavioral simulation in C++ language and a hardware implementation in Verilog hardware description language (HDL). Our simulation and implementation results show that the proposed satellite IP route lookup architecture can achieve a single-port throughput beyond 13 Gbps on a field programmable gate array (FPGA) board with a single DDR3 memory chip when operating at 200 MHz. In addition, the resource utilization in the FPGA shows that the proposed architecture also supports triple modular redundancy (TMR) to enhance reliability.

Abstract Background Hypoxia-induced pulmonary hypertension (HPH) is a lethal cardiovascular disease with the characteristic of severe remodeling of pulmonary vascular. Although a large number of dysregulated mRNAs, lncRNAs, circRNAs, and miRNAs related to HPH have been identified from extensive studies, the competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) regulatory network in the pulmonary artery that responds to hypoxia remains largely unknown. Results Transcriptomic profiles in the pulmonary arteries of HPH rats were characterized through high-throughput RNA sequencing in this study. Through relatively strict screening, a set of differentially expressed RNAs (DERNAs) including 19 DEmRNAs, 8 DElncRNAs, 19 DEcircRNAs, and 23 DEmiRNAs were identified between HPH and normal rats. The DEmRNAs were further found to be involved in cell adhesion, axon guidance, PPAR signaling pathway, and calcium signaling pathway, suggesting their crucial role in HPH. Moreover, a hypoxia-induced ceRNA regulatory network in the pulmonary arteries of HPH rats was constructed according to the ceRNA hypothesis. More specifically, the ceRNA network was composed of 10 miRNAs as hub nodes, which might be sponged by 6 circRNAs and 7 lncRNAs, and directed the expression of 18 downstream target genes that might play important role in the progression of HPH. The expression patterns of selected DERNAs in the ceRNA network were then validated to be consistent with sequencing results in another three independent batches of HPH and normal control rats. The diagnostic effectiveness of several hub mRNAs in ceRNA network was further evaluated through investigating their expression profiles in patients with pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH) recorded in the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) dataset GSE117261. Dysregulated POSTN, LTBP2, SPP1, and LSAMP were observed in both the pulmonary arteries of HPH rats and lung tissues of PAH patients. Conclusions A ceRNA regulatory network in the pulmonary arteries of HPH rats was constructed, 10 hub miRNAs and their corresponding interacting lncRNAs, circRNAs, and mRNAs were identified. The expression patterns of selected DERNAs were further validated to be consistent with the sequencing result. POSTN, LTBP2, SPP1, and LSAMP were suggested to be potential diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets for PAH.

Abstract Background Maternal and child health (MCH) hospitals play an essential role in providing MCH services in China, while the supply has become increasingly challenging in the past decade, especially among secondary MCH hospitals. In this study we aimed to evaluate the technical efficiency (TE) of secondary MCH hospitals in Hubei province (China) to generate evidence-based decision-making for efficiency improvement. Methods The data were collected from the Department of Maternal and Child Health of Health Commission of Hubei Province in 2019. A total of 59 out of 74 secondary MCH hospitals were included as our study sample. Four input indicators (number of health professionals, number of beds, number of equipment with value greater than 10,000 RMB Yuan, building area for hospital operations) and three output indicators (number of total diagnostic patients, number of discharged patients, and number of birth deliveries) were selected based on previous literature. TE scores of the sample hospitals were estimated by using Bootstrap-Data Envelopment Analysis (Bootstrap-DEA). Results After bias-correction with Bootstrap-DEA model, the average TE score of the MCH hospitals was 0.673. 20 (33.89%) MCH hospitals had TE scores below the average. No MCH hospitals achieved excellent efficiency; 16 (27.11%) MCH hospitals reached good efficiency; and 26 (44.06%) MCH hospitals fell into poor and failing efficiency. Besides, 17 MCH hospitals had TE scores of 1 before bias-corrections, while none of them reached 1 after bias correction. Conclusions Significant capacity variations existed among the secondary MCH hospitals in terms of input and output indicators and their overall TE was low in Hubei of China. For better improvement, the secondary MCH hospitals in Hubei need to improve their internal management and strengthen the construction of their information systems. A series of policy supports are needed from the health and insurance administrations to optimize health resources. Third-party performance evaluation can be piloted to improve efficiency and overall performance of the MCH hospitals. The policy recommendations we raise for MCH hospitals in Hubei can be worth learning for some low- and middle- income countries.

In order to classify the quantitative characterization method of structural fracture length in low-permeability reservoirs, the Cambrian Longwangmiao Formation of Moxi-Gaoshiti areas in the Sichuan Basin is taken an example in this study. The relationship between structural fracture lengths of low-permeability reservoirs was derived from the perspective of structural stress field by the means of core fracture statistics and rock mechanical experiment. Quantitative relationships between fracture length and fracture volume density, strain energy density and rock mass stress state were established. Results showed a negative exponential power relationship between fracture length and number, a proportional linear relationship between fracture volume density and strain energy density, and a negative exponential power relationship between fracture length and volume density. The derived fracture length formula was applied to the Longwangmiao Formation in Moxi-Gaoshiti areas. Numerical simulation results showed that fracture density generally ranges from 1-5 m2/m3, and the highest value is 9 m2/m3, mainly distributed in fault and its surrounding areas. Fracture length is mainly between 1-20 m. The fractures in fault and surrounding areas are dense and short, usually less than 3 m.

Superoxide dismutase (SOD) is a class of enzymes that restrict the biological oxidant cluster enzyme system in the body, which can effectively respond to cellular oxidative stress, lipid metabolism, inflammation, and oxidation. Published studies have shown that SOD enzymes (SODs) could maintain a dynamic balance between the production and scavenging of biological oxidants in the body and prevent the toxic effects of free radicals, and have been shown to be effective in anti-tumor, anti-radiation, and anti-aging studies. This research summarizes the types, biological functions, and regulatory mechanisms of SODs, as well as their applications in medicine, food production, and cosmetic production. SODs have proven to be a useful tool in fighting disease, and mimetics and conjugates that report SODs have been developed successively to improve the effectiveness of SODs. There are still obstacles to solving the membrane permeability of SODs and the persistence of enzyme action, which is still a hot spot and difficulty in mining the effect of SODs and promoting their application in the future.

Hyperglycemia is a crucial risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. Chronic inflammation is a central characteristic of obesity, leading to many of its complications. Recent studies have shown that high glucose activates Yes-associated protein 1 (YAP) by suppressing AMPK activity in breast cancer cells. Metformin is a commonly prescribed anti-diabetic drug best known for its AMPK-activating effect. However, the role of YAP in the vasoprotective effect of metformin in diabetic endothelial cell dysfunction is still unknown. The present study aimed to investigate whether YAP activation plays a role in obesity-associated endothelial dysfunction and inflammation and examine whether the vasoprotective effect of metformin is related to YAP inhibition. Reanalysis of the clinical sequencing data revealed YAP signaling, and the YAP target genes CTGF and CYR61 were upregulated in aortic endothelial cells and retinal fibrovascular membranes from diabetic patients. YAP overexpression impaired endothelium-dependent relaxations (EDRs) in isolated mouse aortas and increased the expression of YAP target genes and inflammatory markers in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). High glucose-activated YAP in HUVECs and aortas was accompanied by increased production of oxygen-reactive species. AMPK inhibition was found to induce YAP activation, resulting in increased JNK activity. Metformin activated AMPK and promoted YAP phosphorylation, ultimately improving EDRs and suppressing the JNK activity. Targeting the AMPK–YAP–JNK axis could become a therapeutic strategy for alleviating vascular dysfunction in obesity and diabetes.

This paper studies the problem of planning and scheduling in selective maintenance tasks of mission requirements and the health condition of the fleet. In order to deal with the problems of high maintenance cost and long time consumption in maintenance systems, a two-stage fleet maintenance optimization method is proposed. Firstly, a selective maintenance model of fleets based on age reduction is established to maximize the probability of completing the next mission and minimize the maintenance cost. Secondly, a multiobjective sparrow search algorithm is designed to solve the maintenance planning problem in the first stage, and a nondominated solution set of maintenance strategies satisfying the mission constraint is obtained. In the second stage, the simulated annealing algorithm is used to schedule the maintenance task and obtain the minimum maintenance hours required by the maintenance strategy. An example analysis of a vehicle fleet is launched to prove the effectiveness of this method. In a word, this method not only meets the mission requirements but also achieves the purpose of reducing maintenance cost and maintenance hours, which can provide reference for other types of equipment maintenance.

Due to the high meat yield and rich nutritional content, jade perch (Scortum barcoo) has become an important commercial aquaculture species in China. Jade perch has a slow growth rate, taking 3–4 years to reach sexual maturity, and has almost no difference in body size between males and females. However, the study of its gonad development and reproduction regulation is still blank, which limited the yield increase. Herein, the gonad transcriptomes of juvenile males and females of S. barcoo were identified for the first time. A total of 107,060 unigenes were successfully annotated. By comparing male and female gonad transcriptomes, a total of 23,849 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified, of which 9517 were downregulated, and 14,332 were upregulated in the testis. In addition, a large number of DEGs involved in sex differentiation, gonadal development and differentiation and gametogenesis were identified, and the differential expression patterns of some genes were further verified using real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR. The results of this study will provide a valuable resource for further studies on sex determination and gonadal development of S. barcoo.

Abstract Background Large bone defects have always been a great challenge for orthopedic surgeons. The use of a good bone substitute obtained by bone tissue engineering (BTE) may be an effective treatment method. Artificial hydroxyapatite, a commonly used bone defect filler, is the main inorganic component of bones. Because of its high brittleness, fragility, and lack of osteogenic active elements, its application is limited. Therefore, its fragility should be reduced, its osteogenic activity should be improved, and a more suitable scaffold should be constructed. Methods In this study, a microhydroxyapatite whisker (mHAw) was developed, which was doped with the essential trace active elements Mg2+ and Sr2+ through a low-temperature sintering technique. After being formulated into a slurry, a bionic porous scaffold was manufactured by extrusion molding and freeze drying, and then SiO2 was used to improve the mechanical properties of the scaffold. The hydrophilicity, pore size, surface morphology, surface roughness, mechanical properties, and release rate of the osteogenic elements of the prepared scaffold were detected and analyzed. In in vitro experiments, Sprague–Dawley (SD) rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (rBMSCs) were cultured on the scaffold to evaluate cytotoxicity, cell proliferation, spreading, and osteogenic differentiation. Results Four types of scaffolds were obtained: mHAw-SiO2 (SHA), Mg-doped mHAw-SiO2 (SMHA), Sr-doped mHAw-SiO2 (SSHA), and Mg-Sr codoped mHAw-SiO2 (SMSHA). SHA was the most hydrophilic (WCA 5°), while SMHA was the least (WCA 8°); SMHA had the smallest pore size (247.40 ± 23.66 μm), while SSHA had the largest (286.20 ± 19.04 μm); SHA had the smallest Young's modulus (122.43 ± 28.79 MPa), while SSHA had the largest (188.44 ± 47.89 MPa); and SHA had the smallest compressive strength (1.72 ± 0.29 MPa), while SMHA had the largest (2.47 ± 0.25 MPa). The osteogenic active elements Si, Mg, and Sr were evenly distributed and could be sustainably released from the scaffolds. None of the scaffolds had cytotoxicity. SMSHA had the highest supporting cell proliferation and spreading rate, and its ability to promote osteogenic differentiation of rBMSCs was also the strongest. Conclusions These composite porous scaffolds not only have acceptable physical and chemical properties suitable for BTE but also have higher osteogenic bioactivity and can possibly serve as potential bone repair materials.

Immobilization is considered as a promising strategy toward the practical applications of powdered adsorbent. Herein, three dimensional (3D) printing cylindrical capsules with cross-linked PVA hydrogels membrane in encapsulate Chlorella pyrenoidosa (Cp) were utilized for removal of lead ions. The chemical compositions, hydrogels performance and morphologies of the membranes were determined by Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), cross-linking degree, swelling degree, membrane flux and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). It is found that PVA cross-linking structure is successfully synthesized on the surface of capsule body and cap due to the presence of PVA in the filament. The lead ions adsorption capacity related to initial concentration of 50 mg/L in 48 h is reached 75.61%, revealing a good removal ability. The self-floating 3D printed capsules device also shows an excellent recovering property. After 7 runs of adsorption experiment, the lead ions adsorption ratio remains 78.56%, which will bring a broad prospect in wastewater treatment, chemical slow release along with sample preparation and separation.

In the field of bone tissue engineering, porous hydroxyapatite (HA) bone repair scaffolds with controlled architecture and porosity are challenging to manufacture and lack sufficient osteoinductive activity, which limit its wider clinical application. This study fabricated porous graphene oxide (GO)/HA composite ceramic scaffolds using digital light processing (DLP) technology. The properties of the composite ceramic slurry and the process parameters of curing, degreasing, and sintering were initially examined to ensure molding accuracy. The research showed that a small amount of GO (0.1–0.4 wt%) could better maintain the pore structure and improve the mechanical properties of composite ceramics. Porous scaffolds with pore sizes of 300–400 μm were prepared for co-culture with rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells to detect biocompatibility. The results showed that all scaffolds have no cytotoxicity. Compared with HA, the GO/HA ceramic scaffold significantly promoted the cell adhesion, proliferation, and expression of osteogenesis-related genes; GO (0.1–0.2 wt%) /HA scaffolds exhibited superior alkaline phosphatase activity and more effective bone mineralization, showing enhanced osteoinductivity. The porous GO/HA composite scaffold fabricated by DLP presented a strong potential for repairing bone defects.

Jade perch (Scortum barcoo) is a freshwater fish with substantial economic value, which has been widely cultivated all over the world. However, with the intensification and expansion of farming, several bacterial and viral diseases have occurred in jade perch. To understand the immune response of jade perch against Streptococcus agalactiae (Group B Streptococcus, GBS), we performed a histopathological examination and transcriptome sequencing of jade perch spleen after artificial bacterial infection. GBS infection can cause structural changes and even necrosis of the jade perch spleen, which may affect the survival of infected individuals. A total of 144,458 unigenes were obtained through de novo assembly of spleen transcriptome. Among them, 1821 unigenes were identified as DEGs, including 1415 up-regulated and 406 down-regulated unigenes in the infection group. Moreover, the analysis of GO and KEGG revealed that many GO terms and pathways were involved in the host immune response, such as Toll-like receptor signaling pathway, Cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction, and TNF signaling pathway. In addition, according to transcriptome data and qRT-PCR analysis, the expression levels of many cytokines that participate in the inflammatory response changed a lot after GBS infection. Overall, this transcriptomic analysis provided valuable information for studying the immune response of jade perch against bacterial infection.

The interrelationship between brain, gut and skeletal muscle plays a key role in energy homeostasis of the body, and is becoming a hot topic of research. Intestinal microbial metabolites, such as short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), bile acids (BAs) and tryptophan metabolites, communicate with the central nervous system (CNS) by binding to their receptors. In fact, there is a cross-talk between the CNS and the gut. The CNS, under the stimulation of pressure, will also affect the stability of the intestinal system, including the local intestinal transport, secretion and permeability of the intestinal system. After the gastrointestinal tract collects information about food absorption, it sends signals to the central system through vagus nerve and other channels to stimulate the secretion of brain-gut peptide and produce feeding behavior, which is also an important part of maintaining energy homeostasis. Skeletal muscle has receptors for SCFAs and BAs. Therefore, intestinal microbiota can participate in skeletal muscle energy metabolism and muscle fiber conversion through their metabolites. Skeletal muscles can also communicate with the gut system during exercise. Under the stimulation of exercise, myokines secreted by skeletal muscle causes the secretion of intestinal hormones, and these hormones can act on the central system and affect food intake. The idea of the brain-gut-muscle axis is gradually being confirmed, and at present it is important for regulating energy homeostasis, which also seems to be relevant to human health. This article focuses on the interaction of intestinal microbiota, central nervous, skeletal muscle energy metabolism, and feeding behavior regulation, which will provide new insight into the diagnostic and treatment strategies for obesity, diabetes, and other metabolic diseases.

Abstract Aqueous Zn‐ion batteries (AZIBs) have been recognized as promising energy storage devices due to their high theoretical energy density and cost‐effectiveness. However, side reactions and Zn dendrite generation during cycling limit their practical application. Herein, ammonium acetate (CH3COONH4) is selected as a trifunctional electrolyte additive to enhance the electrochemical performance of AZIBs. Research findings show that NH4+ (oxygen ligand) and CH3COO– (hydrogenligand) with preferential adsorption on the Zn electrode surface can not only hinder Zn anode directly contact with active H2O, but also regulate the pH value of the electrolyte, thus suppressing the parasitic reactions. Additionally, the formed SEI is mainly consisted of Zn5(CO3)2(OH)6 with a high Zn2+ transference number, which could achieve a dendrite‐free Zn anode by homogenizing Zn deposition. Consequently, the Zn||Zn symmetric batteries with CH3COONH4‐based electrolyte can operate steadily at an ultrahigh current density of 40 mA cm–2 with a cumulative capacity of 6880 mAh cm–2, especially stable cycling at −10 °C. The assembled Zn||MnO2 full cell and Zn||activated carbon capacitor also deliver prominent electrochemical reversibility. This work provides unique understanding of designing multi‐functional electrolyte additive and promotes a long lifespan at ultrahigh current density for AZIBs.

Good interfacial adhesion is one of the key factors to ensure the excellent performance of composite materials. However, the interfacial effect of fiber-polymer composites remain incompletely understood. Herein, a self-designed mold was used to prepare UHMWPE (Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene)-fiber/LDPE (Low density polyethylene)-matrix (LU) and PET (polyethylene terephthalate)-fiber/LDPE-matrix composite materials (LP). The interfacial bonding effect was explored by the interfacial shear strength (IFSS), and the interfacial structure and failure mechanism during the fiber pull-out process were analyzed by the combination of experiment and finite element simulation. The results show that the IFSS of LU (3.59 MPa) is 3 times greater than that of LP (1.18 MPa), giving rise to a higher tensile strength. Moreover, Raman mapping and DSC results suggest that UHMWPE-fiber act as nucleation sites to improve the orientation and crystallization of LDPE molecular chains, generating an obvious interfacial transition zone between UHMWPE-fiber and LDPE, while no obvious interfacial transition zone is found between PET-fiber and LDPE. These findings will be expected to give some guidelines for the design and manufacturing high-performance fiber-polymer composites.

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of different proteases alone or in combination on protein digestibility of broilers. In vitro, the properties of four proteases in broilers, including acidic protease (AcP), alkaline protease (AlP), neutral protease (NeP) and keratinase (Ker), on endogenous protease activity and their effects on protein digestibility of common ingredients in broiler diets were investigated using a gut-mimicking model. In vivo, 640 1-day-old male broilers were randomly divided into 8 groups of 10 with 8 replicates of 10 birds per replicate cage. Eight dietary treatments included a corn–soybean meal basal diet (control), and the basal diet with 1.6 U AcP/g, 0.8 U NeP/g, 0.8 U AlP/g, 0.4 U Ker/g, 1.6 U AcP/g + 0.8 U NeP/g, 1.6 U AcP/g + 0.8 U AlP/g, or 1.6 U AcP/g + 0.4 U Ker/g added. The experiment lasted for 31 days. The results showed that the optimum pH values of AcP, NeP, AlP and Ker were 3.0, 9.0, 11.0 and 11.0 in vitro, respectively. Ker recovery proportion was 37.68% at pH 3.3–6.2. AcP alone or in combination with NeP, AlP or Ker increased in vitro crude protein digestibility (IVCPD) and decreased ileal apparent digestibility of crude protein in 31-day-old broilers (p < 0.05). All protease supplementation reduced the ileal apparent digestibility of amino acids compared to the control (p < 0.05). Acidic protease had a positive effect on trypsin and chymotrypsin activities, while AlP and Ker showed a negative effect. In vivo, average daily gain and average daily feed intake were significantly (p < 0.05) increased in broiler diets supplemented with AcP compared to the control group. When adding exogenous proteases to broiler diets, their sensitivity to digestive pH and their negative effects on endogenous protease activity, dosage and combination effects should be taken into account. In addition, the properties and dosage of proteases and the protein level in the feed should be considered.

In China, the treatment of pig manure for land application is an important issue. In this paper, green synthesized iron nanoparticles (G-nFe) were evaluated for their effectiveness in the aerobic composting of pig manure. G-nFe were evenly mixed into the compost, and the pH and oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) of the compost in the presence of G-nFe both decreased. FTIR showed that G-nFe promoted the formation of humus during composting. The addition of G-nFe (200 mL kg−1) to the compost also promoted bacterial growth, significantly increasing the colony-forming units (CFU, up to 25.6 × 104 CFU mL−1) and OD600 (up to 0.634) in 5 days. Furthermore, G-nFe promoted the fermentation of the pig manure, thus reducing the phytotoxicity of the compost produced. For example, the final volatile solids (VS) degradation rate and seed germination index (GI) of the compost were the highest and reached 20.8% and 0.76%, respectively. Finally, G-nFe improved both the bacterial diversity and community richness of the compost. This indicated that the addition of G-nFe could result in the prolonging of the acidic fermentation time during composting, leading to increased compost maturity. Overall, the beneficial impact of G-nFe on compost was far greater than the potential harm to bacterial communities in the compost and perceived phytotoxicity.

Reservoir rock mechanics plays a key role in oil and gas field development. The relationship between lithology, temperature, fluid and confining pressure and the mechanical properties of sandstone reservoirs and the influence mechanism of each factor were discussed using rock mechanics tests, X-ray diffraction, cast thin section and scanning electron microscopy analyses of core samples from the Funing Formation in the Jinhu Sag of Subei Basin. Lithology is a decisive factor for the mechanical properties of sandstones, which are related to particle size, quartz content, clay mineral content, particle contact and cement content. The influence of temperature on the mechanical properties of sandstones is segmented. At 25-100 ℃, minerals expand and contract, while interlayer water escapes. At 100-180 ℃, thermal cracking is dominant. As the oil-water ratio decreases, the mechanical parameters of sandstones change regularly, and the weakening of sandstone strength is related to pore fluid pressure, partial saturation and chemical effects. Artificial measures in oilfield development have a significant impact on the mechanical properties of sandstone reservoirs, and attention should be paid on sand production prediction and wellbore stability analysis.

Abstract The interface properties of organic–inorganic mixed halide perovskite solar cells play a significant role in their photovoltaic performance. Defect states at the interface can decrease the power conversion efficiency through defect‐assisted charge recombination and degrade the long‐term stability. Low‐dimensional perovskites exhibit excellent stabilities. They can be combined with three dimensional (3D) perovskites to utilize their advantages for fabrication of high‐performance devices. In this study, we successfully construct a robust interface for perovskite films through mixed‐dimensional engineering. After the introduction of a one dimensional (1D)‐structured capping layer on the 3D perovskite through post‐treatment, the number of defect states in the perovskite film is significantly decreased, while the lifetime of the photocarriers is increased. In addition, the 1D capping layer can serve as a diffusion barrier to reduce the ion migration and protect the vulnerable 3D perovskite against moisture. Perovskite solar cells based on stacked 1D/3D structures exhibit a power conversion efficiency of 23.3% and maintain 80% of the initial efficiency after storage for over 800 h under ambient conditions with a humidity of 50%. Their performances are superior to those of the 3D devices. This study provides a simple approach to simultaneously enhance the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells and may guide the development of other solar cells.

Based on the traditional elastic tube bundle (ETB) heat exchanger, an improved elastic tube bundle (IETB) heat exchanger with ETB structure upgraded and baffles installed was proposed to study its comprehensive heat transfer performance. The influence of inlet velocity and baffles installation on IETBs vibration and heat transfer features were studied. Numerical results show that the IETB heat exchanger has obviously improved the comprehensive heat transfer performance. The average amplitude of out-of-plane vibration and the heat transfer features of IETBs is significantly elevated by increasing inlet velocity and installing baffles. With the inlet velocity increased and baffles installation, the average amplitude of out-of-plane vibration of IETBs is improved maximum by 616.19% and 26.06%, the average heat transfer coefficient (HTC) is improved maximum by 97.89% and 23.24%, and the performance evaluation criteria (PEC) of IETBs is improved maximum by 3.45% and 2.06%, respectively. In addition, while the installation of the baffles can restrain the total vibration of IETBs (maximum reduction, 4.60%), it can strengthen the heat transfer capacity of IETB heat exchanger.
