The present paper focuses on Mahatma Gandhi’s and Seyyed Hossein Nasr’s eco-philosophy in connection to the current environmental crises. Both scholars are considered as the pioneers of modern environmental movements of their respected faith. By correlating Gandhi’s and Nasr’s spiritual discussion with the environment, this article investigates how deeply the actions of human have impact on the equilibrium of this phenomenal world. The paper also tries to expose why Gandhi and Nasr understanding of natural world and suggestions in relation to the sustainability of natural world look meaningful. Here, descriptive, and analytical methods are used to define eco-spiritual and eco-philosophical ideas of both scholars from their prescribed religious tradition and how far their understanding is relevant to present situation. The comparative analysis highlights some similarities and disparateness in their eco-philosophy. In doing so, this research will contribute to current debate of environmental crises and spiritual crises of modern secular man. The study concludes that despite the differences in beliefs and practices, both eco scholars have shared a common goal of promoting ecological harmony. The goal of the current work is to bring a helpful substance to nanoscience and nanotechnology that might be a "problem solver" for ion storage. Carbon nanotubes/ PVA nanocomposites were prepared in five concentrations in aqueous medium following film formation. The resulting nanocomposites were characterized using “AC Impedance Spectroscopy, Differential Thermal Analysis, Thermal Gravimetric Analysis / (TG/DTA) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)”. Ionic conductivity of the nanocomposites was determined from impedance spectroscopy. CNT/PVA nanocomposites exhibited lower conductivity as compared with CNT or PVA separately. TG/DTA graphs exhibited a regular pattern, showing an increase in the thermal stability. Morphology of the prepared samples as shown by SEM reveals a favourable polymer-filler morphological arrangement at the interphase, which is suggestive of a favourable compatibility between the polymer and the filler substance.

We report the synthesis of novel rhenium and 99mTc ansa-arenophane complexes with bridging isoindolines. Inter-instead of intramolecular isoindoline formation leads to dinuclear macrocycles, one of which exhibits axial chirality.

The bond between them is so inextricably interwoven that whatsoever happens to the phenomena of Earth is reflected on the life of man, and whatever is the action of man is sure to have impact on the natural resources. The modern secular worldview has changed the harmonious attitude of man and created disequilibrium in nature. The consideration of mankind as the master and possessor of nature has changed the sustainability of our home planet Earth and caused environmental crisis such as deforestation, desertification, biodiversity loss, climate change, water, air, and soil pollution. In this respect, the deep ecological approach of Islam and Hinduism describe the sacredness of earth and natural resources. It considers mankind as an equal partner with the rest of God’s creatures and is originated in the bosom of creation. In contemporary period, Seyyed Hossein N?sr, Fazlun Majeed Kh?lid, Mah?tm? Gandhi and Ranchor Pr?me as eco- religious scholars have tried to interpret the deep ecology of Islam and Hinduism. On the basis of deep ecology, they attempt to solve present ecological crisis in purely religious understandings. N?sr and Kh?lid tried to address these issues from an Islamic understanding of nature while Gandhi and Pr?me attempted to deal with ecological crisis from Hindu faith. This interfaith research presents a comparative analysis of the deep ecological thoughts of contemporary scholars of Islam and Hinduism to sustain Man-Nature relationship in 21st century. Through discussion of their eco-religious views, this paper motivates mankind to divert his negative destructive attitudes into positive constructive ones to avoid future catastrophes and to ensure the sustainability of natural resources.

The oxidation of [Re(η6-C10H8)2]+ with AgI in acetonitrile yields [Re(NCCH3)6]2+. This fully solvated ReII compound was characterized by spectroscopic methods and X-ray structure analyses. We show that [Re(NCCH3)6]2+ acts as a precursor complex for a variety of substitution reactions. Treatment with monodentate triphenylphosphine (PPh3) and bidentate 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane (dppe) yields the complexes [trans-Re(PPh3)2(NCCH3)4]2+ and [trans-Re(dppe)2(NCCH3)2]+, respectively. [trans-Re(dppe)2(NCCH3)2]+ is oxidized under mild conditions by AgI to its ReII analogue [trans-Re(dppe)2(NCCH3)2]2+. Reactions of [Re(NCCH3)6]2+ with a halide mixture consisting of NaX and AgX (X = Cl, I) result in the formation of the corresponding ReIII complexes [trans-ReX2(NCCH3)4]+. [trans-ReBr2(NCCH3)4]+ can be obtained directly from [Re(η6-C10H8)2]+ by oxidation with FeBr3 in acetonitrile. The title compound is thus a convenient starting material for ReII and ReIII complexes by simple solvent exchange, which are otherwise difficult to access.

Bis-arene sandwich complexes are generally prepared by the Fischer-Hafner reaction, which conditions are incompatible with most O- and N- functional groups. We report a new way for the synthesis of sandwich type complexes [Re(I· 6 -arene) 2 ] + and [Re(I· 6 -arene)(benzene)] + from [Re(I· 6 -napht) 2 ] + and [Re(I· 6 -napht)(benzene)] + , with functionalized arenes and pharmaceuticals. N-methylpyrrolidine (NMP) facilitates the substitution of naphthalene with the incoming arene. A series of fully characterized rhenium sandwich complexes with simple arenes, such as aniline, as well as with active compounds like lidocaine and melatonin are presented. With these rhenium compounds in hand, the radioactive sandwich complexes [ 99m Tc(I· 6 -pharm) 2 ] + (pharm = pharmaceutical) can be unambiguously confirmed. The direct labelling of pharmaceuticals with 99m Tc through I· 6 -coordination to phenyl rings and the confirmation of the structures with the rhenium homologues opens a path into molecular theranostics.

The labeling of (bio)molecules with metallic radionuclides such as 99mTc demands conjugated, multidentate chelators. However, this is not always necessary since phenyl rings can directly serve as integrated, organometallic ligands. Bis‐arene sandwich complexes are generally prepared by the Fischer–Hafner reaction. In extension of this, we show that [99mTc(η6‐C6R6)2]+‐type complexes are directly accessible from water and [99mTcO4]−, even using arenes incompatible with Fischer–Hafner conditions. To unambiguously confirm the nature of these unprecedented 99mTc complexes, their rhenium homologous have been prepared by substituting naphthalene ligands in [Re(η6‐C10H8)2]+ with the corresponding phenyl groups. The ease with which highly stable [99mTc(η6‐C6R6)2]+ complexes are formed under standard labeling conditions enables a multitude of new potential imaging agents based on commercial pharmaceuticals or lead structures.

Atmospheric dispersion models based on Gaussian plume formulation are widely used for regulatory purposes in flat terrain. In this paper, the application of an advanced Gaussian plume modeling system, AERMOD, has been investigated over complex terrain setting through a field tracer test conducted in April 2018 near Islamabad, Pakistan. The model was validated through short term (2 h) release from a point elevated non buoyant source of SF6. The hourly averaged concentrations were measured at 47 discrete sampling points. The mesoscale meteorological model, WRF was coupled with AERMOD to provide hourly surface and upper boundary layer meteorological parameters. The statistical evaluation of model was carried out using Fractional Bias (FB) and Normalized Mean Square Error (NMSE). The quantile-quantile (Q-Q) plot was used to assess model's ability to follow the observed concentration distribution. For this field tracer test the model over-predicted ground level concentrations at the receptors close to the source and underestimated at the receptors located in a valley and far away from the source. Moreover, AERMOD overestimated the concentration at receptors which were at the point of direct impaction of plume and ridge. Overall, the model under-predicted the ground level concentration within a factor of two (FB = 0.63) for this field tracer test. It was found that the model better simulated the higher concentrations which are of primary interest for regulatory purposes.

Cycloruthenation is a well known process in organometallic ruthenium chemistry. In this work, we report unprecedented cycloruthenated rhenium bis-arene compounds with planar chirality. In a two-step process, the reaction of acetyl-pyridine with [Re(η6-C6H6)2]+ introduced a pyridinyl-methanol ligand at one of the arene rings. Coordination of [Ru(CO)2Cl2] led to cycloruthenation, and the products were obtained as two diastereomeric pairs of enantiomers. Under basic pH conditions, the two pairs of enantiomers undergo spontaneous and reversible dimerization. The cycloruthenated monomers were fully characterized, and the dimerization process was studied by NMR, IR spectroscopy, and DFT calculations.

The safety of the nuclear reactor revolves around the accurate analysis of rapid flow transient for the design and manufacturing of reactor coolant pumps. In this article, the coastdown transient initiated by the loss of offsite power is simulated. In this case, the pumps are operated by the inertia of the flywheel, therefore, the reliable operation of reactor coolant pumps is the key to the safety of the nuclear reactor. A new hydraulic, as well as the thermal model, is developed for simulating various core parameters during the coastdown period. The present hydraulic model accounts for both the pump half-time and the loop half-time, which is used to increase the accuracy of predicted results over a longer period of time. The results predicted by the hydraulic model are incorporated into a thermal model, which also includes the decay heat following the reactor shutdown. This new model depends upon the core time constant, loop time constant, pump half-time, and hydraulic constant coefficient. The predicted results of flow rate, pressure, temperature, and departure from nucleate boiling ratio are compared with the experimental data and have found good agreement between the two cases. Finally, the departure from nucleate boiling ratio shows that the transient behavior of the reactor is moving toward safety.

In this paper the mesoscale application of the 3D Lagrangian particle dispersion model LAPMOD has been assessed for a field tracer test performed in a short-range complex terrain. The meteorological input was provided through the diagnostic model CALMET, the meteorological pre-processor of the CALPUFF model. The CALMET/LAPMOD coupled system was used to simulate the hourly averaged ground level concentration at 47 discrete receptors. The LAPMOD model has a general tendency to slightly underestimate the hourly averaged ground-level concentrations. A Q-Q plot shows that the predicted concentration distribution has a good comparison with observed one. The Robust Highest Concentration (RHC) indicates that the LAPMOD model slightly underestimates the simulated peak concentration in short-term release conditions. The Fractional Bias (FB), Normalized Mean Squared Error (NMSE), Factor of Two (FAC2), Factor of Four (FAC4) and Factor of Exceedance (FOEX) statistical indices were calculated. The predicted results by LAPMOD are generally in good agreement with observed ones and the model is justified for the use in complex terrain for short-term near-field applications.

In this study the Mn 1–2x Zr x Fe 2−y Ni y O 4 nanoparticles fabricated by co-precipitation technique were investigated. Thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA) exhibited the annealing temperature of the nanoparticles ~990 °C. Cubic spinel structure of Mn 1–2x Zr x Fe 2−y Ni y O 4 nanoparticles was confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) analysis. Crystallite size was calculated by XRD data and found in the range of 32–58 nm. Photocatalytic activity of Mn 0.92 Zr 0.04 Fe 1.88 Ni 0.12 O 4 /graphene nanocomposites was tested by degrading methylene blue (MB) under visible light irradiation. The MB was almost completely degraded in the presence of Mn 0.92 Zr 0.04 Fe 1.88 Ni 0.12 O 4 -graphene nanocomposites under visible light irradiation. Dielectric parameters were also investigated in the frequency range 1×10 6 –3×10 9 Hz. An overall decrease in the values of dielectric constant, dielectric loss and tangent loss was observed on account of the substitution of Zr and Ni with Mn and Fe cations.

PVP stabilized Silver nanoparticles were synthesized and were used to prepare different compositions of polymer nanocomposites using poly (vinyl alcohol) as a polymer matrix. AC impedance spectroscopy, tensile testing (tensile strength, Young's modulus, elongation at break), atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA/DTA) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) were used to characterize the prepared nanocomposite samples. Through this communication, we are reporting a much-enhanced electrical conductivity and mechanical properties of the nanocomposite films. The AFM and SEM propose a smooth surface morphology with uniformly dispersed nanoparticles. A fairly controlled size and uniform morphology discloses that PVP has played its role in controlling the diameter and dispensability of the nanoparticles. The outcome of the XRD suggests a semi crystalline structure of XRD results suggest that the prepared nanocomposite exhibits the semi-crystalline nature. Thermal analysis depicts that the thermal stability enhances as a function of the silver nanoparticles.

The present study reports the syntheses of half-sandwich complexes of the type [M(η5 -C5 H4 CONH-R)(CO)3 ] (M═Re,99m Tc;R═cyclic RGD peptide (cRGDyK) for potential imaging of αv β3 integrin expression. The 99m Tc complex was prepared directly from the reaction of [99m Tc(OH2 )3 (CO)3 ]+ with cRGDyK, doubly conjugated to Thiele's acid [(C5 H5 COOH)2 ] in water. This approach extends the viability of metal-mediated retro Diels-Alder reactions for the preparation of small molecules such as linear tripeptides to a more complex cyclic peptide carrying a [(η5 -C5 H4 )99m Tc(CO)3 ] tag. The Diels-Alder product [(C5 H5 CONH-cRGDyK)2 ] was prepared from Thiele's acid via double peptide coupling. The Re-complex [Re(η5 -C5 H4 CONH-cRGDyK)(CO)3 ] was obtained by attaching [Re(η5 -C5 H4 COOH)(CO)3 ] directly to the N-terminus of cRGDyK. The identity of the 99m Tc-complex is confirmed by chromatographic comparison with the corresponding rhenium complex, fully characterized by spectroscopic techniques.

We describe the syntheses of half-sandwich complexes of the type [(η(5)-Cp(CONH-R))M(CO)3] with M = Re or (99m)Tc. The R group represents different tri-peptides (tpe) which display high binding affinities for oligopeptide transporters PEPT2. The (99m)Tc complexes were prepared directly from [(99m)Tc(OH2)3(CO)3](+) and Diels-Alder dimerized, cyclopentadienyl derivatized peptides in water. This approach corroborates the feasibility of metal-mediated retro Diels-Alder reactions for the preparation of not only small molecules but also peptides carrying a [(η(5)-Cp)(99m)Tc(CO)3] tag. We synthesized the Diels-Alder product [(HCpCONH-tpe)2] from Thiele's acid [(η(5)-HCpCOOH)2] via double peptide coupling. The Re-complexes [(η(5)-CpCONH-tpe)Re(CO)3] were obtained by attaching [(Cp-COOH)Re(CO)3] directly to the N-terminus of peptides as received from SPPS. The authenticity of the (99m)Tc-complexes is confirmed by chromatographic comparison with the corresponding rhenium complexes, fully characterized by spectroscopic techniques.
