ABSTRACT Background Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is a rare malignancy of invasive epithelium with keratinocyte differentiation, and it is the most common form of eyelid malignant neoplasm, comprising 5%–10% of malignancies. While SCC rarely affects the orbit, it may be involved through local invasion from a cutaneous primary site or extension by perineural invasion. Only 12 cases of primary orbital SCC have been reported until now. Here, we present a case of primary carcinoma of the right orbit with coexisting Carney's syndrome, a rare genetic disorder associated with multiple endocrine neoplasias (MEN) syndromes. Case A 62‐year‐old South Asian male presented with a painful swelling in the lateral aspect of the right eyebrow and protrusion of the eyeball in August 2020. He had a history of excision of Right atrial Myxoma in March 2020. Orbital computerized tomography (CT) and positron emission tomography (PET‐CT) scans revealed an enhancing soft tissue lesion in the right orbit with the involvement of frontal and ethmoid sinuses. Biopsy confirmed HPV‐related poorly differentiated SCC, positive for HPV‐related markers. The patient received concurrent chemo irradiation with Cisplatin. Follow‐up PET‐CT done 3 months later showed a new lesion appeared in the right orbital region and right lobe of thyroid. Later had surgical excision and total thyroidectomy, and histopathological examination (HPE) from orbit was reported as invasive SCC and from the thyroid was reported as synchronous papillary thyroid cancer. The patient's proptosis resolved, and subsequent PET‐CT and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans did not show any residual or recurrent disease. Conclusion Primary SCC of the orbit is an extremely rare disease, and this case report presents the 13th reported case and the first one associated with Carney's syndrome. As there is no standard treatment regimen for primary SCC of the orbit, this case highlights the use of multimodality treatment, including surgical excision and chemo irradiation. The findings emphasize the importance of early detection and management of this uncommon and life‐threatening condition, providing hope for patients and aiding in the prevention of recurrence.

ABSTRACT Background Primary tracheal carcinoma is an exceptionally rare and life‐threatening disease that presents significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Delayed diagnosis due to misinterpretation of airway obstruction symptoms often leads to poorer prognoses for patients. This study aimed to explore the clinical manifestations and multidisciplinary treatment approaches for primary tracheal carcinoma in Bangladesh, with a focus on recent advancements in diagnosis and treatment. Methods A retrospective observational study was conducted at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital Limited, involving patients aged over 30 who were diagnosed with tracheal carcinoma and underwent multidisiplinary treatment from July 2018 to June 2019. Data were collected through patient interviews and medical record reviews. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were performed to examine demographic characteristics, histological variations, tumor locations, clinical signs and symptoms, treatment approaches, and outcomes. Results The study illuminated varied clinical presentations and the successful application of multidisciplinary approaches among the 13 patients. Invasive squamous cell carcinoma and adenoid cystic carcinoma were the predominant histological subtypes. Symptomatology, including dyspnea, cough, and hemoptysis, highlighted the challenge of early detection. Despite the rarity and intricacies associated with primary tracheal carcinoma, the multidisciplinary strategy yielded generally positive outcomes, as evidenced by a 1‐year survival rate of 92.31% and a 5‐year survival rate of 76.92%. Kaplan–Meier survival curves underscored the superior efficacy of surgical interventions over non‐surgical approaches. Conclusion Despite some limitations, this study contributes crucial insights into the nuanced management of primary tracheal carcinoma in the Bangladeshi context. The demonstrated success of the multidisciplinary strategy, especially surgical interventions, accentuates the importance of definitive resection. The lone case of local recurrence emphasizes the necessity for vigilant follow‐up.

Lung cancer is responsible for causing one of the highest numbers of cancer deaths. In Bangladesh, both men and women are affected by lung cancer, and environmental contaminants are believed to be one of the main risk factors apart from smoking. The diagnosis of lung cancer is difficult due to the delicate structure and complexity of the lungs. Diagnosis in later stages results in a poor prognosis of the disease. Tissue biopsy is the most reliable way of identifying lung cancer, but it is invasive and requires identification of the primary neoplasm within the lungs. As inflammation is involved in carcinogenesis, circulating levels of cytokines might be elevated in patients during the early stages of cancer. Increased IL-6 levels have been associated with the promotion of tumor growth, and IL-17 is believed to aid metastasis of lung cancer. In this study, the use of IL-6 and IL-17 was investigated as diagnostic markers for lung cancer. IL-6 and IL-17 levels were compared between 35 lung cancer patients and 19 healthy individuals. Squamous cell carcinoma in children and adolescents is extremely rare. Less than 80 case reports have been reported in the literature since it was first reported in 1868. In this article, we intend to report a case where a 16-year-old girl who presented with complaints of change in voice was found to have early-stage vocal cord carcinoma on evaluation.

Primary adenocarcinoma of the trachea is extremely rare and a standard treatment does not exist due to nonavailability of evidence-based randomized control studies. This paper reports the case of a 60-year-old male, who presented with cough and occasional respiratory distress. Bronchoscopic examination and a computed tomography scan revealed a soft tissue mass in the trachea arising from the posterior tracheal wall. Cytological examination and immunochemistry confirmed primary adenocarcinoma of the trachea. Excision of the tumor followed by three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy was performed, and a dose of 56 Gy was delivered to the primary site. Two and a half years after treatment, the patient has no clinical or radiological evidence of the disease, and no late complication has occurred.

The study investigates the relationship between technological innovation, clean energy, trade openness, and natural resource rents on environmental sustainability within BRICS + T nations. Motivated by the urgent need to address escalating CO2 emissions—reaching 36.4 billion metric tons in 2022—the research aims to understand how these factors influence CO2 emissions, ecological footprint, load capacity factor, and its inverse, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The study uses panel data from BRICS + T countries spanning the period from 1990 to 2022. Employing advanced econometric techniques such as Dynamic Seemingly Unrelated Regression (DSUR), Cross-Sectionally Augmented Panel Unit Root (CUP-FM, CUP-BC), and nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) models, the research tests the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis and evaluates asymmetric effects of the variables. Key findings indicate that technological innovation consistently reduces CO2 emissions and ecological footprints, reinforcing its role in promoting sustainability through cleaner technologies and more efficient industrial processes. Clean energy adoption has also been shown to be a significant driver in reducing environmental degradation, with consistent negative effects on emissions and ecological footprint, while improving the load capacity factor. However, trade openness exhibits a dual effect. While it enhances resource use efficiency, it simultaneously increases CO2 emissions and the ecological footprint, likely due to heightened industrial activity. Natural resource rents display mixed results: in some cases, they exacerbate emissions, while in others, they contribute to sustainability by funding eco-friendly initiatives. The study recommends that BRICS + T nations prioritize investments in green technologies, strengthen environmental regulations, and enhance international collaboration to accelerate the transition to renewable energy. Policymakers should balance the benefits of trade openness with stricter environmental standards to mitigate its adverse effects on sustainability. The rapid technological and economic growth in CIVETS countries poses challenges to environmental sustainability. This study explores the intricate relationships between Information and Communication Technology (ICT), natural resource usage, and green innovation in these economies. Employing advanced statistical models uncovers long-term and short-term patterns, providing valuable insights for policymakers, stakeholders, and scholars. Key findings reveal that ICT diffusion can potentially reduce carbon emissions, while natural resource rent is linked to increased ecological footprints. Conversely, green technological innovation is promising in alleviating environmental degradation. The study underscores the importance of comprehensive policies integrating ICT diffusion, sustainable resource management, and green innovation. To achieve environmental sustainability, the study recommends responsible natural resource extraction, fiscal incentives for green innovation, digital tools for environmental monitoring, and international collaboration. Public awareness and sustainable urbanization practices guided by ICT are also crucial. Introduction: This study investigates the complex relationship between economic growth, remittances (REM), export earnings (EEs), infrastructural development (IFD), and environmental sustainability (ES) in Bangladesh over the period from 1990 to 2020. Framed within the context of the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis, the research explores how these factors influence environmental outcomes and contributes to ongoing discussions on sustainable development. Methods: Utilizing advanced time-series modeling techniques, including autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) and nonlinear ARDL (NARDL), this study applies unit root tests and co-integration analysis to examine the data. These methods allow for a detailed assessment of both short- and long-term relationships between the variables in question. Results: The findings confirm the EKC hypothesis, showing that economic growth initially leads to increased carbon emissions and environmental degradation, but further development contributes to environmental improvements. Remittances, however, significantly exacerbate carbon emissions and ecological degradation. On the other hand, technological innovation (TI) demonstrates a negative association with carbon emissions and ecological footprint (EF), highlighting its potential in supporting sustainable development. The impacts of export earnings and infrastructural development on environmental sustainability are mixed, with infrastructural growth in particular linked to environmental degradation. Discussion: The study's results underscore the importance of targeted policy interventions to balance economic growth with environmental sustainability. Policymakers should focus on mitigating the environmental impacts of remittance inflows and fostering technological innovation to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This study investigates the pivotal role of green strategies in achieving carbon neutrality by exploring the synergistic contributions of green finance, green technological innovation, and green energy adoption. The study has implemented several panel data estimation techniques including second generation panel unit root test commonly known as CADF and CIPS, an error correction-based panel cointegration test, for documenting the elasticities of GF, GTI, and GE on carbon neutrality through Continuously-Update Fully Modified[CUP-FM], Continuously-Update Bias-Corrected [CUP-BC], and Dynamic Seemingly Unrelated Regression [DSUR]. The asymmetric coefficients have exploded with the implementation of a nonlinear framework, which is well known as NARDL. Our findings underscore the significance of green finance mechanisms in mobilizing resources for sustainable initiatives, including renewable energy projects and energy-efficient technologies. Study shed light on the catalytic impact of green Technological innovation in driving technological advancements, reducing emissions, and fostering economic growth. Furthermore, our study delves into the transformative potential of clean energy adoption, elucidating how it can substantially reduce carbon footprints and bolster the transition to a low-carbon economy. This study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on the critical nexus of green strategies and carbon neutrality, offering a roadmap for a more sustainable and environmentally responsible future. The environmental degradation in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region leads to significant challenges regarding economic sustainability and the attainment of sustainable development goals (SDGs). The extensive use of fossil fuels in the region, as well as rapid urbanization and economic growth, has led to significant carbon emissions, together with unprecedented ecological footprints compromising environmental sustainability. The study aims to elucidate the influence exerted by technological innovation, trade openness, and natural resources on environmental sustainability in Turkey and Egypt for the period 1990–2022. In assessing the empirical relations, the study employed the Fourier function incorporate estimation techniques, that is, Fourier ADF for unit root test, Fourier ARDL, and Fourier NARDL for long-run and short-run elasticities of technological innovation (TI), trade openness (TO,) and natural resources rent (NRR) on load capacity factor (LCF) and inverted LCF (ILCF); finally, the directional causality evaluate through Fourier TY causality test. The results revealed that both Turkey and Egypt have severe environmental problems due to their high carbon emissions and ecological footprints. Technological change and international trade separately negatively affect environmental sustainability; however, these negative impacts have mixed character. On the one hand, technology can improve efficiency and reduce ecological footprints by obviating the use of high-impact processes or allowing cleaner production systems. In the same vein, trade openness helps transfer green technologies more quickly, but it can also lead to unsustainable resource extraction and pollution. The findings of the paper propose that in order to move forward, Turkey and Egypt need strategic policy shifts to ensure environmental sustainability, including transitioning towards renewable energy from fossil fuels while bolstering their capacity for energy efficiency. Policymakers must balance economic development with environmental conservation to reduce the harmful effects of climate degradation and help safeguard continued economic survival in the face of increasing climatic instability. To have enough financial literacy, an investor must be able to make intelligent investment choices, and on the other hand, the heuristic bias, the framing effect, cognitive illusions, and herd mentality are all variables that contribute to the formation of behavioral biases, also known as illogical conduct, in the decision-making process. The current research looks specifically at behavioral biases and financial literacy influence investment choices, particularly on stock market investment. For the research, a representative sample of 450 individual investors was evaluated. A structured questionnaire was designed using the Likert's scale method to elicit the research variables, and the data acquired were analyzed using the SEM method. According to the findings, there was a statistically significant link between heuristic bias and the development of behavioral bias in decision-making. Nevertheless, cognitive illusions, the herd mentality, and the framing effect all have a deleterious impact on behavioral biases. In addition, investors often adhere to heuristic biases rather than other irrational strategies when making investment judgments. This study aims to explore the complex connection between green supply chain Management (GSCM) practices, relational efficiency, Job satisfaction, and operational efficiency, as well as the overall organizational performance of manufacturing companies. Utilizing a qualitative model as the basis of our study is essential for navigating this terrain. The present study used carefully designed questionnaires for collecting responses from operational-level managers and applied structural equation modeling (SEM) for inferential analysis, offering a detailed insight into the variables affecting organizational performance in GSCM. This study revealed a significant finding about the role of GSCM practices in connecting business performance and environmental responsibility, highlighting the vital link between sustainable business practices and organizational success. Manufacturing companies should acknowledge and manage the intricate relationship between internal and external aspects of GSCM to achieve smooth operational integration while reducing environmental impact. Our study emphasizes the importance of comprehensively analyzing the connection between GSCM practices and organizational performance. It highlights the need to address challenges to implement sustainable practices. By confronting these challenges directly, organizations can realize the complete capabilities of GSCM and strengthen their dedication to environmental responsibility.
