In the paper [20], the authors introduced a Gauss curvature flow to study the Aleksandrov problem and the dual Minkowski problem. The paper [20] treated the cases when one can establish the uniform estimate for the Gauss curvature flow. In this paper, we study the $ L_p $ dual Minkowski problem, an extension of the dual Minkowski problem. We deal with some cases in which there is no uniform estimate for the Gauss curvature flow. We adopt the topological method from [13] to find a special initial condition such that the Gauss curvature flow converges to a solution of the $ L_p $ dual Minkowski problem.

The bioactive ingredients of essential oil from Valerianae Jatamansi Rhizoma et Radix (the Rhizome et Radix from Valerianae Jatamansi Jones) (EOVJRR) on the efficacy of inhibiting microglial activation were investigated with the approach of spectrum-efficacy relationship. Fourteen batches of Valerianae Jatamansi Rhizoma et Radix were extracted and analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), and their activities in the efficacy of inhibiting microglial activation were assayed by measuring the inflammatory responses induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in microglia cells from mice. The spectrum-efficacy relationships between fingerprints and the efficacy of inhibiting microglial activation of EOVJRR were established by grey relational analysis (GRA). Twenty common peaks were obtained from the GC-MS fingerprints of EOVJRR. P12 (vetivenol), P1 (bornyl acetate), P5 (seychellene), and P3 (β-elemene) indicated inhibition on microglia activation together, according to the spectrum-efficacy relationships. The current results established a general model for the spectrum-efficacy relationships of EOVJRR by GC-MS and the efficacy of inhibiting microglial activation, which could be applied to identify the bioactive ingredient and control the quality of herbs.

In this article, we study the Musielak-Orlicz-Gauss image problem based on the Gauss curvature flow in Li et al. Guizhou and Yunnan Provinces (Yungui Plateau) in Southwestern China are well known as biodiversity hotspots. We introduce two new species in this study viz., Mucispora hydei (in Fuscosporellaceae, Fuscosporellales, Sordariomycetes) and Tolypocladium cucullae (Ophiocordycipitaceae, Hypocreales, Sordariomycetes) and six new records based on morpho-molecular analyses. Full descriptions, color photographs and phylogenetic trees to indicate the placements of new species are provided.

Five taxa that morphologically resemble Astrocystis and Collodiscula were collected on bamboo culms from Guizhou, Hainan and Yunnan provinces in China. Based on morphology and molecular analyses (combined ITS, RPB2, β-tubulin and α-actin genes), these species were identified as Astrocystis cocoes (a new record to China), A. bambusicola, Collodiscula japonica and two new species (A. multiloculata and C. lancangjiangensis). Astrocystis multiloculata can be distinguished from other Astrocystis species by its superficial stromata containing many perithecia and larger ascospores (19–25 × 7–11 μm). Collodiscula lancangjiangensis has larger ascospores (26–36.5 × 5–7.5 μm) than those of the most similar species C. fangjingshanensis (19–25.5 × 4.5–6 μm). It also has larger, 3-septate ascospores than C. japonica (1-septate, 19–26 × 4.5–5.5 μm).

In the process of studying the diversity of Xylariales in China, three species owning characteristics of Graphostromataceae were observed in China. Morphology of the described species with illustrations and their phylogeny based on regions of internal transcribed spacers (ITS), the second-largest subunit of the RNA polymerase II (RPB2), β-tubulin (TUB2) and α-actin (ACT) are provided. Two new species and one new record from China are identified. Morphologically, Biscogniauxia glaucae sp. nov. differs from B. atropunctata var. maritima, B. citriformis var. macrospora, B. fuscella and B. mediterranea by its stromata with raised margins, clear outlines, punctate ostioles openings and ascospores which are equilateral with broadly rounded ends, a straight spore-length germ slit on the more concave side, lacking appendages and sheathes. Graphostroma guizhouensis is identified as a new species based on the multi-gene phylogenetic tree. Camillea broomeana with scanning electron microscope description of ascospores is illustrated as a new record from China. Cryptostroma is proposed in Graphostromataceae based on molecular data. Vivantia is accepted in Graphostromataceae based on its morphological characteristics and Nodulisporiurn anamorphs which are similar to those of Biscogniauxia.

During an investigation of Xylariaceae from 2019 to 2020, isolates representing eight Nemania (Xylariacese) species were collected from Yunnan, Guizhou and Hainan Provinces in China. Morphological and multi-gene phylogenetic analyses, based on combined ITS, α-actin, rpb2 and β-tubulin sequences, confirmed that six of them are new to science, viz. Nemania camelliae, N. changningensis, N. cyclobalanopsina, N. feicuiensis, N. lishuicola and N. rubi; one is a new record (N. caries) for China and one is a known species (N. diffusa). Morphological descriptions and illustrations of all species are detailed. In addition, the characteristics of Nemania are summarised and prevailing contradictions in generic concepts are discussed.

Chlorin e6 (Ce6) is a promising photosensitizer for tumor photodynamic therapy (PDT). However, the efficacy of Ce6 PDT is limited by Ce6's poor water solubility, rapid blood clearance, and inadequate accumulation in the tumor tissue. This problem is tackled in this work, wherein functionalized superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (IO-NPs) were used as carriers to deliver Ce6 to melanoma. The IO-NPs were coated with polyglycerol (PG) to afford good aqueous solubility. The chemotherapeutic agent doxorubicin (DOX) was attached to the PG coating via the hydrazone bond to afford affinity to the cell membrane and thereby promote the cell uptake. The hydrophobic nature of DOX also induced the aggregation of IO-NPs to form nanoclusters. Ce6 was then loaded onto the IO nanoclusters through physical adsorption and coordination with surface iron atoms, yielding the final composites IO-PG-DOX-Ce6. In vitro experiments showed that IO-PG-DOX-Ce6 markedly increased Ce6 uptake in mouse melanoma cells, leading to much-enhanced photocytotoxicity characterized by intensified reactive oxygen species production, loss of viability, DNA damage, and stimulation of tumor cell immunogenicity. In vivo experiments corroborated the in vitro findings and demonstrated prolonged blood clearance of IO-PG-DOX-Ce6. Importantly, IO-PG-DOX-Ce6 markedly increased the Ce6 distribution and retention in mouse subcutaneous melanoma grafts and significantly improved the efficacy of Ce6-mediated PDT. No apparent vital organ damage was observed at the same time. In conclusion, the IO-PG-DOX NPs provide a simple and safe delivery platform for efficient tumor enrichment of Ce6, thereby enhancing antimelanoma PDT.

Four species of Xylaria were collected from Guizhou and Hainan provinces in China. Morphological and phylogenetic analyses (based on β-tubulin, rpb2 and α-actin genes) revealed two new species (X. sylvatica sp. nov. and X. wuzhishanensis sp. nov.) and two known species (X. atrosphaerica and X. cubensis). Xylaria sylvatica is distinguished from X. spinulosa by lacking long thorns on the stromatal surface, and larger ascospores (23–28.5 × 7–9.5 μm vs. 19–23 × 6.5–8.5 μm) with a sigmoid germ slit. Xylaria wuzhishanensis differs from X. schweinitzii by its semi-globular or irregularly globose stromata, from X. atrosphaerica by its larger ascospores (23–30.5 × 7–9 μm vs. 17–25 × 6–10 μm). Their descriptions and illustrations are provided.

Sophora flavescens is a frequently used traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for the treatment of skin disorders, diarrhea, vaginal itching and inflammatory diseases. In particular, the root of S. flavescens combination with other herbs mainly treat eczema ailment in the clinical applications. However, a holistic network pharmacology approach to understanding the mechanism by which alkaloids in S. flavescens treat eczema has not been pursued.To examine the network pharmacological potential effect of S. flavescens on eczema, we studied the alkaloids, performed protein targets prediction and investigated interacting signal pathways. Furthermore, animal experiment was carried out to evaluate its efficacy and real-time quantitative polymerase chain reactions (RT-qPCR) analysis was explored the mechanism of action.The detail information on alkaloids from S. flavescens were obtained from a handful of public databases on the basis of oral bioavailability (OB ≥ 30%) and drug-likeness (DL ≥ 0.18). Then, correlations between compounds and protein targets were linked using the STRING database, and targets associated with eczema were gathered by the GeneCards database. Human genes were identified and subjected to Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis and Gene Ontology (GO) functional enrichment analysis. Particularly, matrine, the crucial alkaloid from S. flavescens, was estimated using a 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB)-induced eczema Kunming (KM) mice model, administered (50 mg/kg and 10 mg/kg) to mice for 22 days. On the last day, the activities of serum tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α), interleukin-4 (IL-4) and histopathologic examinations were determined. For further to elucidate the mechanisms, the mRNA levels of TNF-α, STAT3, TP53, AKT1, IL-6, JUN and EGFR in dorsal skin tissues were also tested.Network analysis collected and identified 35 alkaloids from S. flavescens. Among them, in total 10 dominating alkaloids, including matrine, oxymatrine, sophoridine, sophocarpine, oxysophocarpine, allomatrine, sophoramine, anagyrine, cytisine and N-methylcytisine. And 71 related targets were provided of alkaloids for the treatment of eczema from S. flavescens. Furthermore, matrine dose-dependently (50 or 10 mg/kg, 22 days, apply to dorsal skin) remarkable decreased the serum levels of TNF-α and IL-4, and significantly alleviated the skin lesions. The effects of 50 mg/kg of matrine were almost identical to those of 200 mg/kg of the positive drug dexamethasone (DXM). The further RT-qPCR analyses could reveal that matrine down-regulate TNF-α, STAT3 and TP53 at transcriptional level in dorsal skin tissues.Pharmacological network analysis can utilize to illuminate the pharmacodynamic substances and the potential molecular mechanism of S. flavescens for treating eczema. Matrine, as the crucial alkaloid from S. flavescens, could be a promising drug candidate for the treatment of eczema ailment.

Lung cancer recruits tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) massively, whose predominantly pro-tumor M2 phenotype leads to immunosuppression. Dihydroartemisinin (DHA) has been proven to remodel TAM into an anti-tumor M1 phenotype at certain concentrations in the present study, which was hypothesized to facilitate anti-lung cancer immunotherapy. However, how DHA remodels the TAM phenotype has not yet been uncovered. Our previous work revealed that DHA could trigger ferroptosis in lung cancer cells, which may also be observed in TAM thereupon. Sequentially, in the current study, DHA was found to remodel TAM into the M1 phenotype

A species of Hypoxylon, found on dead wood in China, differs from H. hypomiltum and H. samuelsii in having highly carbonaceous stromata, asci with a long stipe and wider ascospores. Based on morphology and molecular phylogeny, it is described as a new species, H. wujiangensis sp. nov. A detailed description and illustration are provided, along with molecular evidence for the new species.

Amphisphaeria yunnanensis sp. nov. and Lepteutypa qujingensis sp. nov. are introduced in this study from dead twigs collected from an evergreen broadleaf forest area in Yunnan Province, China. Both species have immersed, sub-globose ascomata and overlapping uniseriate asci and multi-guttulate, fusiform, brown ascospores. Amphisphaeria yunnanensis is distinguished among similar taxa in having long and narrow ostiole and comparatively small fusiform ascospores. Lepteutypa qujingensis is characterized by smaller ascomata and ascospores compare to other Lepteutypa species. Based on LSU-ITS phylogeny and macro-micro morphology, both species are placed in Amphisphaeriaceae. Morphological comparisons of the accepted species in Amphisphaeria and Lepteutypa are provided.

The Christoffel problem is equivalent to the existence of convex solutions to the Laplace equation on the unit sphere $${{\mathbb S}^n}$$. Necessary and sufficient conditions have been found by Firey (1967) and Berg (1969), by using the Green function of the Laplacian on the sphere. Expressing the Christoffel problem as the Laplace equation on the entire space ℝn+1, we observe that the second derivatives of the solution can be given by the fundamental solutions of the Laplace equation. Therefore we find new and simpler necessary and sufficient conditions for the solvability of the Christoffel problem. We also study the Lp extension of the Christoffel problem and provide sufficient conditions for the problem, for the case p ⩾ 2.

Strain 16W4-4-3 T was isolated from the oil-well production water in Qinghai Oilfield, China. Cells were Gram-stain-negative, rod-shaped, catalase- and oxidase-positive, facultatively anaerobic and motile by single polar flagellum. The 16S rRNA gene sequences of strain 16W4-4-3 T showed the highest similarities with Pseudomonas profundi M5T (98.8%), P. pelagia CL-AP6T (98.0%), P. salina XCD-X85T (97.7%), and P. sabulinigri J64T (97.5%). The phylogenetic trees based on multilocus sequence analyses with concatenating 16S rRNA, gyrB, rpoD and rpoB genes suggested that this strain should be affiliated to the genus Pseudomonas but remotely related from other species. In addition, whole genome analyses revealed that the digital DNA–DNA hybridization values and average nucleotide identities of strain 16W4-4-3 T against its close relatives were all below 28.8% and 86.5%, respectively. Furthermore, the isolate had totally different whole cell protein profile as compared to those of other species. Major fatty acids were summed feature 8 (C18:1ω7c and/or C18:1ω6c), C16:0, summed feature 3 (C16:1ω7c and/or C16:1ω6c) and C17:0cyclo. Major isoprenoid quinone was ubiquinone (Q-9), and major polar lipids were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, and phosphatidylethanolamine. The DNA G + C content was 58.5 mol%. Therefore, phenotypic, phylogenetic, genomic, chemotaxonomic, and proteomic traits showed that the isolate represented a novel species of the genus Pseudomonas, the name Pseudomonas saliphila sp. nov. is proposed. Type strain is 16W4-4-3 T (= CGMCC 1.13350 T = KCTC 72619 T).

The present study aimed to determine the taxonomic positions of strains designated R-5-52-3T, R-5-33-5-1-2, R-5-48-2 and R-5-51-4 isolated from hot spring water samples. Cells of these strains were Gram-stain-negative, non-motile and rod-shaped. The strains shared highest 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity with Vulcaniibacterium thermophilum KCTC 32020T (95.1%). Growth occurred at 28–55 °C, at pH 6–8 and with up to 3 % (w/v) NaCl. DNA fingerprinting, biochemical, phylogenetic and 16S rRNA gene sequence analyses suggested that R-5-52-3T, R-5-33-5-1-2, R-5-48-2 and R-5-51-4 were different strains but belonged to the same species. Hence, R-5-52-3T was chosen for further analysis and R-5-33-5-1-2, R-5-48-2 and R-5-51-4 were considered as additional strains of this species. R-5-52-3T possessed Q-8 as the only quinone and iso-C15:0, iso-C11:0, C16 : 0 and iso-C17 : 0 as major fatty acids. The polar lipids were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, unidentified polar lipids and two unidentified phospholipids. The genomic G+C content was 71.6 mol%. Heat shock proteins (e.g. Hsp20, GroEL, DnaK and Clp ATPases) were noted in the R-5-52-3T genome, which could suggest its protection in the hot spring environment. Pan-genome analysis showed the number of singleton gene clusters among Vulcaniibacterium members varied. Average nucleotide identity (ANI) values between R-5-52-3T, Vulcaniibacterium tengchongense YIM 77520T and V. thermophilum KCTC 32020T were 80.1–85.8 %, which were below the cut-off level (95–96 %) recommended as the ANI criterion for interspecies identity. Thus, based on the above results, strain R-5-52-3T represents a novel species of the genus Vulcaniibacterium , for which the name Vulcaniibacterium gelatinicum sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is R-5-52-3T (=KCTC 72061T=CGMCC 1.16678T).

Suppression of the immune microenvironment is an important endogenous contributor to treatment failure in lung cancer. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is widely used in the treatment of malignant tumors owing to its photo-selectivity and minimal side effects. Some studies have shown the ability of photodynamic action not only to cause photo-cytotoxicity to tumor cells but also to induce immunogenic cell death (ICD). However, the mechanism by which PDT enhances tumor immunogenicity is poorly understood. The present study aimed to explore the immunogenicity effect of PDT on lung cancer and to reveal the underlying mechanism. First, we searched for effective conditions for PDT-induced apoptosis in lung cancer cells. Just as expected, chlorin e6 (Ce6) PDT could enhance the immunogenicity of lung cancer cells alongside the induction of apoptosis, characterized by up-regulation of CRT, HSP90, HMGB1 and MHC-I. Further results showed the generation of ROS by Ce6 PDT under the above conditions, which is an oxidative damaging agent. Simultaneously, PDT induced endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress in cells, as evidenced by enhanced Tht staining and up-regulated CHOP and GRP78 expression. Moreover, PDT led to DNA damage response (DDR) as well. However, the redox inhibitor NAC abolished the ER stress and DDR caused by PDT. More importantly, NAC also attenuated PDT-induced improvement of immunogenicity in lung cancer. On this basis, the PDT-induced CRT up-regulation was found to be attenuated in response to inhibition of ER stress. In addition, PDT-induced increase in HMGB1 and HSP90 release was blocked by inhibition of DDR. In summary, Ce6 PDT could produce ROS under certain conditions, which leads to ER stress that promotes CRT translocation to the cell membrane, and the resulting DNA damage causes the expression and release of nuclear HMGB1 and HSP90, thereby enhancing the immunogenicity of lung cancer. This current study elucidates the mechanism of PDT in ameliorating the immunogenicity of lung cancer, providing a rationale for PDT in regulating the immune microenvironment for the treatment of malignant tumors.

An induratia-like fungus was collected in Thailand from a deadwood piece of an unidentified plant. Phylogenetic analyses based on ITS, LSU, rpb2, and β-tubulin sequence data and morphological characteristics showed that the fungus is Induratia coffeana. Induratia coffeana differs from I. ziziphi, I. thailandica and I. apiospora by its 2-celled ascospores with equal divisions. Full description, illustrations, and a phylogenetic tree to show the placement of I. coffeana are provided. Induratia coffeana is reported herein as a new record for Thailand based on its sexual morph.

In this study, three species of Astrocystis were collected from bamboo culms in Guizhou and Yunnan Provinces in China. Morphological characteristics and phylogenetic analyses (based on ITS, rpb2, βtubulin and α-actin gene regions) supported the proposal of two new species viz., Astrocystis pseudomirabilis sp. nov. and A. tessellati sp. nov. and a new record of A. sublimbata from China. Astrocystis pseudomirabilis can be distinguished from A. mirabilis by its larger stromata (0.64–0.83 × 0.38–0.52 mm vs. 0.4–0.6 × 0.2–0.5 mm) and larger ascospores (11–14 × 6–8 μm vs. 10–12 × 4.5–6 μm). Astrocystis tessellati differs from A. multiloculata by its smaller ascospores (16.2–19.2 × 7.2–9 μm vs. 19–25 × 7–11 μm). Astrocystis pseudomirabilis and A. tessellati form two distinct clades within Astrocystis.

The tumor-associated macrophage (TAM) serves as an immunosuppressive agent in the malignant tumor microenvironment, facilitating the development and metastasis of lung cancer. The photodynamic effect destabilizes cellular homeostasis owing to the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), resulting in the enhanced pro-inflammatory function of immunocytes. In our previous study, the Ce6-mediated photodynamic effect was found to have kept the viability of macrophages and to remodel them into the M1 phenotype. However, the mechanism remains unrevealed. The present study now explores the mechanism of photodynamic therapy (PDT)-mediated reprogramming of macrophages. As expected, Ce6-mediated PDT was capable of generating reactive oxygen species, which was continuously degraded, causing “low intensity” damage to DNA and thereby triggering subsequent DNA damage response in macrophages. The autophagy was thus observed in Ce6-treated macrophages and was shown to protect cells from being photodynamically apoptotic. More importantly, Ce6 PDT could activate the stimulator of interferon genes (STING) molecule, a sensor of DNA damage, which could activate the downstream nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB) upon activation, mediating the polarization of macrophages towards the M1 phenotype thereupon. In addition, inhibition of ROS induced by PDT attenuated the DNA damage, STING activation, and M1-phenotype reprogramming. Furthermore, the silence of the STING weakened Ce6 treatment-mediated M1 remodeling of macrophages as well. Altogether, these findings indicate the Ce6-induced photodynamic effect polarizes macrophages into an M1 phenotype through oxidative DNA damage and subsequent activation of the STING. This work reveals the crucial mechanism by which photodynamic therapy regulates the macrophage phenotype and also provides a novel intervenable signaling target for remodeling macrophages into the M1 phenotype.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is noninvasive, low toxicity, and photo-selective, but may be resisted by malignant cells. A previous study found chlorin e6 (Ce6) mediated PDT showed drug resistance in lung cancer cells (LLC), which may be associated with PDT-induced DNA damage response (DDR). DDR may up-regulate glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4), which in turn degrade ROS induced by PDT. However, dihydroartemisinin (DHA) was found to down-regulate GPX4. Accordingly, the DHA was hypothesized to improve the resistance to PDT. The present work explores the mechanism of Ce6 mediated drug resistance and reveals whether DHA can enhance the efficacy of PDT by suppressing GPX4. The in vitro experiments found Ce6 treatment did not inhibit the viability of LLC within 6 h without inducing significant apoptosis, suggesting LLC were resistant to PDT. Further investigation demonstrated PDT could damage DNA and up-regulate GPX4, thus degrading the generated ROS. DHA effectively inhibited the viability of LLC and induced apoptosis. Importantly, DHA displayed a prominent inhibitory effect on the GPX4 expression and thereby triggered ferroptosis. Combining DHA with Ce6 for treatment of LLC resulted in the suppressed GPX4 and elevated ROS. Finally, the findings showed DHA combined with Ce6 exhibited superb anti-lung cancer efficacy. In summary, Ce6 PDT damages DNA, up-regulates GPX4 to degrade ROS, thereby inducing drug resistance. Down-regulation of GPX4 by DHA-triggered ferroptosis significantly enhances the efficacy of PDT. This study provides an outstanding theoretical basis for the regulation of the intratumoral redox system and improving PDT efficacy against lung cancer by herbal monomer DHA.

Non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most common malignant lung tumor and is difficult to be eradicated due to its immunosuppressive microenvironment. Chlorin e6 (Ce6)-mediated photodynamic therapy (PDT) could improve immunogenicity while destroying malignant tumor cells. However, the clinic application of Ce6-mediated PDT is limited by Ce6's poor water solubility and insufficient accumulation in lung cancer. To address this issue, Ce6 was loaded onto functionalized iron oxide nanoparticles linked with glucose to improve the distribution of Ce6 in lung cancer.The results of transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV-Vis spectrophotometry, dynamic light scattering and near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy confirmed the successful preparation of the composites. Confocal and flow cytometry showed IO-PG-GLU-Ce6 significantly enhanced the uptake of Ce6 by lung cancer cells and produced more reactive oxygen species (ROS) under NIR light irradiation. In addition, the detection of cell viability, proliferation and apoptosis indicated IO-PG-GLU-Ce6 achieved stronger photo-toxicity to lung cancer cells. Moreover, IO-PG-GLU-Ce6 treatment effectively damaged the DNA of lung cancer cells and thereby activated STING, up-regulated the expression of IFN-β, HMGB1 and HSP90, indicating augmented immunogenicity of lung cancer cells. Further results of in vivo, organ imaging and tissue fluorescence sections demonstrated IO-PG-GLU-Ce6 significantly improved the distribution of Ce6 in tumor tissues of lung cancer-bearing mice as well. Finally, the findings of in vivo study and immunohistochemistry confirmed the better efficacy of IO-PG-GLU-Ce6. HE staining results of vital organs suggested that the composites were less toxic.In conclusion, Ce6 loaded by functionalized iron oxide nanoparticles linked with glucose exhibited both target photodynamic efficacy and the ability to enhance its immunogenicity in lung cancer. This study provides a promising strategy for augment of the targeting delivery of Ce6 and its mediated photodynamic and immunotherapy.

A new Collodiscula, found on a bamboo culms in China, differs from C. japonica, C. fangjingshanensis, C. leigongshanensis, C. bambusae and C. chiangraiensis in having 5-septate ascospores (42.5–65 × 10–15.5 µm). It is described as a new species, Collodiscula tubulosa sp. nov. based on the morphology and molecular phylogeny.

In this paper we study a contracting flow of closed, convex hypersurfaces in the Euclidean space $\mathbb R^{n+1}$ with speed $f r^{\alpha} K$, where $K$ is the Gauss curvature, $r$ is the distance from the hypersurface to the origin, and $f$ is a positive and smooth function. If $\alpha \ge n+1$, we prove that the flow exists for all time and converges smoothly after normalisation to a soliton, which is a sphere centred at the origin if $f \equiv 1$. Our argument provides a parabolic proof in the smooth category for the classical Aleksandrov problem, and resolves the dual q-Minkowski problem introduced by Huang, Lutwak, Yang and Zhang (Acta Math. 216 (2016): 325-388), for the case $q0$, we also establish the same results for even function $f$ and origin-symmetric initial condition, but for non-symmetric $f$, counterexample is given for the above smooth convergence., Comment: 34 pages

Four Durotheca-like taxa have been collected from Guizhou Province, China. ITS, RPB2, LSU, and β-tubulin loci sequences were amplified and analyzed using maximum likelihood and Bayesian analyses. Phylogenetic analyses of a combined ITS, LSU, RPB2, and β-tubulin gene dataset showed that our strains were species of Durotheca. Both morphological and molecular evidence confirmed that two are new species, Durotheca crateriformis and Durotheca guizhouensis, while Durotheca eurima (≡ Theissenia eurima) is a new record for China. Durotheca rogersii (≡ Theissenia rogersii) is a new record for Chinese mainland. Durotheca crateriformis differs from other species by its ascospores (13.5 × 5.5 μm) and crater-shaped ostioles. D. guizhouensis has unique smaller ascospores (10.5 × 4 μm). All new collections are illustrated and morphological descriptions are provided.
