AIM: To analyze the research status and future development trends of intermittent exotropia(IXT)by bibliometric study.METHODS: Bibliometrics methods were used and the related literatures in the Web of Science Core Collection(WoSCC)database from 2003 to 2022 were retrieved. CiteSpace6.2.R2 software was used to conduct visualized analysis of publications of one year, countries, institutions, journals, authors, references and keywords.RESULTS: A total of 620 literatures on IXT were retrieved from 2003 to 2022, and there has been a progressive increase in the number of publications. South Korea and the United States, Mayo Clinc and Holmes JM were the most productive and impactful country, institution and author, respectively. The Journal of American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus(J AAPOS)published the most manuscripts(78 publications). The keywords with the strongest citation burst were surgery, epidemiology, alignment and recurrence.CONCLUSION: Visualized analysis conducted by CiteSpace software could objectively show the quantity changes and distribution of literatures on IXT from 2003 to 2022. Furthermore, the research hotspot of IXT has gradually shifted from surgery and epidemiology to fusion and recurrence.

Vibrio parahaemolyticus （VP） is one of the most common pathogens that cause food poisoning in coastal areas of China. In fact， the food safety incidents of VP have been increasing on a yearly basis. The current national standard method for quantitatively detecting VP in food is the most probable number method. This method is time-consuming and tedious， and cannot be used to achieve rapid quantitative detection. Owing to modern biotechnology， new quantitative methods have been generated. In fact， a series of rapid and sensitive methods have been developed to quantify VP. This review seeks to discuss recent research and application progress of rapid methods for quantifying VP using biotechnology methods， and highlight the characteristics of each rapid method to provide a theoretical reference and development direction for the rapid and accurate quantitation of VP in food.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic degenerative joint disease whose main characteristic is the destruction of articular cartilage, causing pain and disability in patients and seriously affecting their quality of life. OA can be induced by a variety of causes, and pathological changes in articular cartilage are considered to be one of the key driving factors for the occurrence of OA. High mobility group box-1 protein (HMGB1), as a non-histone protein in eukaryotic cells, can participate in regulating the inflammation and apoptosis process of OA chondrocytes, thus leading to the occurrence of OA. This article reviews the research on the mechanism of HMGB1 in OA chondrocytes, with a view to providing new ideas for the clinical prevention and treatment of OA.

Abstract Background The triglyceride glucose-body mass index (TyG-BMI index) has been suggested as a novel predictor of insulin resistance. However, its predictive value for slow coronary flow phenomenon (SCFP) in patients with ischemia and nonobstructive coronary arteries (INOCA) remains unclear. Methods We consecutively recruited 1625 patients with INOCA from February 2019 to February 2023 and divided them into two groups based on thrombolysis in myocardial infarction (TIMI) frame counts (TFCs): the SCFP group (n = 79) and the control group. Abstract China contributed nearly one-fifth of the world maize production over the past few years. Mapping the distributions of maize cropland in China is crucial to ensure global food security. Nonetheless, 10 m maize cropland maps in China are still unavailable, restricting the promotion of sustainable agriculture. In this paper, we collect numerous samples to produce annual 10-m maize cropland maps in China from 2017 to 2021 with a machine learning based classification framework. To overcome the temporal variations of plants, the proposed framework takes Sentinel-2 sequence images as input and utilizes deep neural networks and random forest as classifiers to map maize in a zone-specific way. The generated maps have an overall accuracy (OA) spanning from 0.87 to 0.95 and the maize-cultivated areas estimated by the maps are highly consistent with the records in statistical yearbooks (R 2 varying from 0.83 to 0.95). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first annual 10-m maize maps across China, which largely facilitates the sustainable agriculture development in China dominated by smallholder farmlands.

Accurately predicting the fatigue crack propagation process of aircraft structure is the basis for conducting life monitoring and residual life estimation of individual aircraft. In this paper, a prediction method of structural fatigue crack propagation based on dynamic Bayesian network is proposed, which combines the prior knowledge and the posterior knowledge of fatigue crack propagation to accurately infer the crack length. The influence of different particle numbers on the inference accuracy of the dynamic Bayesian network was studied. Through the study of crack propagation of a single hole plate and a lug under random load spectrum, it is shown that the dynamic Bayesian network method can accurately predict the fatigue crack propagation, and the prediction accuracy is more than 50% higher than that of the traditional method.

The objective of this study was to explore the clinical characteristics and prognosis of diabetic foot in hospitalized patients with diabetes in Tibet. To achieve that, patients hospitalized in People’s Hospital of Tibet Autonomous Region and diagnosed with diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2020 were enrolled in the study, and DFU cases of Peking University First Hospital were collected as control group. Analysis and comparison of clinical characteristics of DFU in plateau and plain areas were conducted. Normal distribution data or non-normal distribution data between groups were analyzed by t-test analysis or the nonparametric Mann–Whitney U test, and categorical variants were compared by Chi-square of Pearson. A total of 54 DFU cases were enrolled in the study in the People’s Hospital of Tibet Autonomous Region (Tibet group for short). Males accounted for 83.3% (45 cases) in Tibet group, which was higher than that of Peking University First Hospital (Beijing group for short), which accounted for 67.0%. Compared with the DFU patients in the Beijing group, the Tibet group was younger (58.11 ± 12.25 years vs 64.18 ± 11.37 years, P < 0.05), with a shorter disease duration (7.00 years vs 12.00 years, P < 0.05). In contrast, alcohol consumption was higher in the Tibet group (44.4 vs 27.4%, P < 0.05), and the number of patients with smoking habit was higher in the Beijing group (29.6 vs 43.7%, P < 0.05). The Tibet group had higher HbA1c (10.2 vs 8.7%, P < 0.05) and lower DFU proportion (22.2 vs 44.2%, P < 0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the proportion of moderate to severe infections between the two groups (58.5 vs 59.6%, P = 0.887). Leukocytes (6.75 × 109/L vs 8.72 × 109/L, P < 0.05) and neutrophils (4.07 × 109/L vs 6.26 × 109/L, P < 0.05) in Tibet group were lower. Although the DFU amputation rate in the Tibet group was lower than that in the Beijing group (9.3 vs 29.8%, P < 0.05), there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of treatment cost, hospital stay, and mortality. In conclusion, patients with DFU in Tibet had a smaller age, shorter duration of diabetes, and more male predominance. The proportions of gangrene and amputation were lower in Tibet, with gangrene accounting for 80% of all amputees.

BackgroundIn sepsis patients, kidney damage is among the most dangerous complications, with a high mortality rate. In addition, major adverse kidney events within 30 days (MAKE30) served as a comprehensive and unbiased clinical outcome measure for sepsis patients due to the recent shift toward targeting patient-centered renal outcomes in clinical research. However, the underlying predictive model for the prediction of MAKE30 in sepsis patients has not been reported in any study.MethodsA cohort of 2,849 sepsis patients from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care (MIMIC)-IV database was selected and subsequently allocated into a training set (n = 2,137, 75%) and a validation set (n = 712, 25%) through randomization. In addition, 142 sepsis patients from the Xi’An No. 3 Hospital as an external validation group. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were conducted to ascertain the independent predictors of MAKE30. Subsequently, a nomogram was developed utilizing these predictors, with an area under curve (AUC) above 0.6. The performance of nomogram was assessed through calibration curve, receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curve, and decision curve analysis (DCA). The secondary outcome was 30-day mortality, persistent renal dysfunction (PRD), and new renal replacement therapy (RRT). MAKE30 were a composite of death, PRD, new RRT.ResultsThe construction of the nomogram was based on several independent predictors (AUC above 0.6), including age, respiratory rate (RR), PaO2, lactate, and blood urea nitrogen (BUN). The predictive model demonstrated satisfactory discrimination for MAKE30, with an AUC of 0.740, 0.753, and 0.821 in the training, internal validation, and external validation cohorts, respectively. Furthermore, the simple prediction model exhibited superior predictive value compared to the SOFA model in both the training (AUC = 0.710) and validation (AUC = 0.692) cohorts. The nomogram demonstrated satisfactory calibration and clinical utility as evidenced by the calibration curve and DCA. Additionally, the predictive model exhibited excellent accuracy in forecasting 30-day mortality (AUC = 0.737), PRD (AUC = 0.639), and new RRT (AUC = 0.846) within the training dataset. Additionally, the model displayed predictive power for 30-day mortality (AUC = 0.765), PRD (AUC = 0.667), and new RRT (AUC = 0.783) in the validation set.ConclusionThe proposed nomogram holds the potential to estimate the risk of MAKE30 promptly and efficiently in sepsis patients within the initial 24 h of admission, thereby equipping healthcare professionals with valuable insights to facilitate personalized interventions.

With the popularization of digital transformer substations, it is of great research significance to study the upgrade of electronic transformer calibration devices, especially in the scene of small signals and high precision. In this paper, a compensation correction method is proposed to obtain more accurate primary side current parameters of the tuning device. By establishing the J-A magnetic characteristic model of the CT, the relationship between the magnetic characteristics of the CT and the corresponding terminal voltage is analyzed, and the relationship model between the terminal voltage and the corresponding excitation current is established. The model is used as the correction value in the feedback loop of the current measurement of the integral inspection device, to obtain the accurate primary side current. This method is applied to an electronic transformer calibrator inspection device system based on the Beidou system, which improves the data measurement accuracy of the device sensor and ensures that the measurement data accuracy reaches 0.1S.

Background. Joint articular injection of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) has emerged as a novel treatment approach for osteoarthritis (OA). However, the effectiveness of MSCs derived from different sources in treating OA patients remains unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the differences between the effectiveness and safety of different sources of MSCs. Materials and Methods. For inclusion consideration, we searched trial registries and published databases, including PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, and Web of Science databases. Revman (V5.3), STATA (V16.0), and R (V4.0) were utilized for conducting data analysis, while the Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool was employed for assessing the quality of the studies. We derived outcome measures at 6 and 12 months based on the duration of study follow-up, including visual analog scale (VAS) score, WOMAC score, WOMAC pain, WOMAC Functional Limitation, and WOMAC stiffness. The evaluation time for short-term effectiveness is set at 6 months, while 12 months is utilized as the longest follow-up time for most studies to assess long-term effectiveness. Results. The evaluation of literature quality showed that the included studies had excellent methodological quality. A meta-analysis revealed that different sources of MSCs improved knee function and pain more effectively among patients suffering from knee OA (KOA) than controls. The results of the network meta-analysis showed the following: short-term functional improvement (the indexes were evaluated after 6 months of follow-up) (WOMAC total score: bone marrow-derived MSC (BMMSC) vs. adipose-derived MSC (ADMSC) (mean difference (MD) = −20.12, 95% confidence interval (CI) −125.24 to 42.88), umbilical cord-derived MSC (UCMSC) (MD = −7.81, 95% CI −158.13 to 74.99); WOMAC stiffness: BMMSC vs. ADMSC (MD = −0.51, 95% CI −7.27 to 4.29), UCMSC (MD = −0.75, 95% CI −9.74 to 6.63); WOMAC functional limitation: BMMSC vs. ADMSC (MD = −12.22, 95% CI −35.05 to 18.86), UCMSC (MD = −9.31, 95% CI −44.26 to 35.27)). Long-term functional improvement (the indexes were evaluated after 12 months of follow-up) (WOMAC total: BMMSC vs. ADMSC (MD = −176.77, 95% CI −757.1 to 378.25), UCMSC (MD = −181.55, 95% CI −937.83 to 541.13); WOMAC stiffness: BMMSC vs. ADMSC (MD = −0.5, 95% CI −26.05 to 18.61), UCMSC (MD = −1.03, 95% CI −30.44 to 21.69); WOMAC functional limitation: BMMSC vs. ADMSC (MD = −5.18, 95% CI −316.72 to 177.1), UCMSC (MD = −8.33, 95% CI −358.78 to 218.76)). Short-term pain relief (the indexes were evaluated after 6 months of follow-up) (VAS score: UCMSC vs. BMMSC (MD = −10.92, 95% CI −31.79 to 12.03), ADMSC (MD = −14.02, 95% CI −36.01 to 9.81), PLMSC (MD = −17.09, 95% CI −46.31 to 13.17); WOMAC pain relief: BMMSC vs. ADMSC (MD = −11.42, 95% CI −39.52 to 11.77), UCMSC (MD = −6.73, 95% CI −47.36 to 29.15)). Long-term pain relief (the indexes were evaluated after 12 months of follow-up) (VAS score: BMMSC vs. UCMSC (MD = −4.33, 95% CI −36.81 to 27.08), ADMSC (MD = −11.43, 95% CI −37.5 to 13.42); WOMAC pain relief: UCMSC vs. ADMSC (MD = 0.23, 95% CI −37.87 to 38.11), BMMSC (MD = 5.89, 95% CI −25.39 to 51.41)). According to the GRADE scoring system, WOMAC, VAS, and AE scores were of low quality. Conclusion. Meta-analysis suggests MSCs can effectively treat KOA by improving pain and knee function compared to control groups. In terms of functional improvement in KOA patients, both short-term (6-month follow-up) and long-term (12-month follow-up) results indicated that while the differences between most treatments were not statistically significant, bone marrow-derived MSCs may have some advantages over other sources of MSCs. Additionally, BM-MSCs and UC-MSCs may offer certain benefits over ADMSCs in terms of pain relief for KOA patients, although the variances between most studies were not statistically significant. Therefore, this study suggests that BM-MSCs may present clinical advantages over other sources of MSCs.

ABSTRACTThe gut microbiota is involved in the production of numerous metabolites that maintain host wellbeing. The assembly of the gut microbiome is highly dynamic, and influenced by many postnatal factors, moreover, little is known about the development of the gut metabolome. We showed that geography has an important influence on the microbiome dynamics in the first year of life based on two independent cohorts from China and Sweden. Major compositional differences since birth were the high relative abundance of Bacteroides in the Swedish cohort and Streptococcus in the Chinese cohort. We analyzed the development of the fecal metabolome in the first year of life in the Chinese cohort. Lipid metabolism, especially acylcarnitines and bile acids, was the most abundant metabolic pathway in the newborn gut. Delivery mode and feeding induced particular differences in the gut metabolome since birth. In contrast to C-section newborns, medium- and long-chain acylcarnitines were abundant at newborn age only in vaginally delivered infants, associated by the presence of bacteria such as Bacteroides vulgatus and Parabacteroides merdae. Our data provide a basis for understanding the maturation of the fecal metabolome and the metabolic role of gut microbiota in infancy.

Abstracts As the major maize-cultivated areas, the one-season cropland of China is increasingly threatened by rapid urbanization and soybean rejuvenation. Quantifying the area changes of maize cropland is crucial for both food and energy security. Nonetheless, due to the lack of survey data related to planting types, long-term and fine-grained maize cropland maps in China dominated by small-scale farmlands are still unavailable. In this paper, we collect 75,657 samples based on field surveys and propose a deep learning-based method according to the phenology information of maize. With the generalization capability, the proposed method produces maize cropland maps with a resolution of 30 m from 2013 to 2021 in the one-season planting areas of China. The maize-cultivated areas derived from the maps are highly consistent with the data recorded by statistical yearbooks (R 2 = 0.85 on average), which indicates that the produced maps are reliable to facilitate the research on food and energy security.

Addressing the formidable challenges posed by multiple jammers jamming multiple radars, which arise from spatial discretization, many degrees of freedom, numerous model input parameters, and the complexity of constraints, along with a multi-peaked objective function, this paper proposes a cooperative jamming resource allocation method, based on evolutionary reinforcement learning, that uses joint multi-domain information. Firstly, an adversarial scenario model is established, characterizing the interaction between multiple jammers and radars based on a multi-beam jammer model and a radar detection model. Subsequently, considering real-world scenarios, this paper analyzes the constraints and objective function involved in cooperative jamming resource allocation by multiple jammers. Finally, accounting for the impact of spatial, frequency, and energy domain information on jamming resource allocation, matrices representing spatial condition constraints, jamming beam allocation, and jamming power allocation are formulated to characterize the cooperative jamming resource allocation problem. Based on this foundation, the joint allocation of the jamming beam and jamming power is optimized under the constraints of jamming resources. Through simulation experiments, it was determined that, compared to the dung beetle optimizer (DBO) algorithm and the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm, the proposed evolutionary reinforcement learning algorithm based on DBO and Q-Learning (DBO-QL) offers 3.03% and 6.25% improvements in terms of jamming benefit and 26.33% and 50.26% improvements in terms of optimization success rate, respectively. In terms of algorithm response time, the proposed hybrid DBO-QL algorithm has a response time of 0.11 s, which is 97.35% and 96.57% lower than the response times of the DBO and PSO algorithms, respectively. The results show that the method proposed in this paper has good convergence, stability, and timeliness.

Cantonese soy sauce is an important type of traditional Chinese brewed soy sauce that was developed in southern China, mainly in Guangdong. Due to the long fermentation period and complex microbiota in Cantonese soy sauce, there are few reports on the microbial metaproteomics of Cantonese soy sauce. In this study, integrative metagenomic and metaproteomic analyzes were used to identify the changes in the dominant microbiota and amino acid synthesis-related enzymes and metabolism during Cantonese soy sauce fermentation. Metagenomic analysis revealed that Tetragenococcus halophilus, Weissella confusa, Weissella paramesenteroides, Enterobacter hormaechei, and Aspergillus oryzae were the dominant microbiota. Using the Top 15 dominant microbiota identified by metagenomics as the database, LTQ Orbitrap Velos Pro ETD mass spectrometry was used to obtain metaproteomic information about the microbes in the soy sauce, and the results indicated that the active enzymes involved in the metabolism of amino acids were secreted by microorganisms such as A. oryzae, T. halophilus, and Zygosaccharomyces rouxii. During the Cantonese soy sauce fermentation process. Among them, early fermentation (0-15d) was dominated by A. oryzae and T. halophilus, mid-term fermentation (60-90d) was dominated by Z. rouxii, A. oryzae, and T. halophilus, and late fermentation (90-120d) was dominated by A. oryzae, Z. rouxii, and T. halophilus. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analysis revealed that the main enzymes involved in the metabolism of umami amino acids were aspartate aminotransferase, citrate synthase, aconitase, and isocitrate dehydrogenase, which were produced by Z. rouxii and A. oryzae during early fermentation (0–15 d) and the middle fermentation stage (60–90 d). This study constructed a regulatory network of enzymes potentially involved in the metabolism of flavor amino acids, which provided a theoretical basis for studying the amino acid metabolism of Cantonese soy sauce.

Breast cancer is characterized by a high incidence rate and its treatment challenges, particularly in certain subtypes. Consequently, there is an urgent need for the development of novel therapeutic approaches. Immunotherapy utilizing immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) is currently gaining momentum for the treatment of breast cancer. Substantial progress has been made in clinical studies employing cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen-4 (CTLA-4) inhibitors for breast cancer, but the cure rates are relatively low. To improve the efficacy of CTLA-4-based therapy for breast cancer, further research is imperative to explore more effective immune-based treatment strategies. In addition to monotherapy, CTLA-4 inhibitors are also being investigated in combination with other ICIs or alternative medications. However, it should be noted that immune-based treatments may cause adverse events. This review focuses on the mechanisms of CTLA-4 inhibitor monotherapy or combination therapy in breast cancer. We systematically summarize the latest research and clinical advances in CTLA-4-based immunotherapy for breast cancer, providing new perspectives on the treatment of breast cancer. In addition, this review highlights the immune-related adverse events (irAEs) associated with CTLA-4 inhibitors, providing insights into the development of appropriate clinical tumor immunotherapy regimens and intervention strategies.

Precise control of selectivity in nitrobenzene hydrogenation is a long-standing challenge, especially under solvent-free conditions. The PdOx is the key species for enhancing H2 dissociation and nitrobenzene conversion. Here, we report that tuning the proportion of PdOx deposited on CeO2 with regulating methods of different preparation methods, CeO2 shape-selectivity and modifying Pd particle sizes could effectively tailor the selectivity of nitrobenzene hydrogenation. With calcination temperature of 450 °C, the Pd/CeO2–4.72 nm catalyst exhibited a satisfying azoxybenzene yield of 70.4% under solvent-free conditions. This work opens a new window for the stable and effective synthesis of intermediates in organic reactions.

Objective: This study aimed to study the changes of active components in irradiated Rhodiola rosea extracts （RRE） and their hypoglycemic effect. Methods: Rhodiola rosea was irradiated with 60Co-γ rays at doses of 5, 10, 20 and 30 kGy, respectively. High performance liquid chromatography （HPLC） was used to analyze RRE compounds before （0 kGy） and after irradiation. The type 1 diabetic mouse models established by intraperitoneal injection of Streptozotocin （STZ） were given a gavage. The body weight, fasting blood glucose, food intake and water intake of mice were measured regularly. Oral glucose tolerance was measured on the last day, after dissection, organ coefficient, serum total cholesterol （TC）, glycosylated hemoglobin （GHb）, total triglyceride （TG）, malondialdehyde （MDA）, superoxide dismutase （SOD） and catalase （CAT） were measured. Results: The content of salidroside in RRE was significantly decreased after irradiation （P＜0.05）, and the content of loxavir was significantly increased at 5, 10 and 20 kGy （P＜0.05）. Tyrosol was detected at 20 kGy. Compared with the model group, the body weight of mice was given a gavage with irradiation RRE was increased, the food intake, water intake and blood glucose level decreased, and the food utilization rate increased significantly （P＜0.05）. The levels of TC, GHb, TG and MDA were significantly decreased （P＜0.05）, while the activities of SOD and CAT were significantly increased （P＜0.05）. The phenomenon of organ swelling was improved, and the effect was better at 20 kGy, and there was a significant difference with other irradiation doses （P＜0.05）. Conclusion: The composition and content of RRE compounds changed after irradiation, and RRE can reduce the level of diabetes in type 1 diabetic mice before and after irradiation. The irradiation dose of 20 kGy is effective.

As a new type of energy storage device, aqueous zinc-ion capacitors (AZICs) have excellent performance, such as high power density, high energy density, long cycle life and high safety.AZICs have a high application prospect in the field of civil electronic equipment and military electrified weapons and equipment, and are expected to become a new generation of energy storage scheme instead of lithium-ion batteries.In this paper, the recent advances of carbon-based materials for zinc ion capacitors, such as activated carbon, carbon nanotubes, graphene and biomass derived carbon were summarized. The zinc ion storage performance of MXenes was analyzed in detail, and the energy storage mechanisms of transition metal oxides were revealed. It is pointed out that developing the cathode materials with high capacity, high voltage tolerance and low temperature adaptability is of great importance.

Abstract In this work, we study the $$D\bar{D}$$ D D ¯ , DD, $$D\bar{D}_s$$ D D ¯ s , $$DD_s$$ D D s , $$D_s\bar{D}_s$$ D s D ¯ s and $$D_sD_s$$ D s D s tetraquark molecular states with the $$J^{PC}=0^{++}$$ J PC = 0 + + via the QCD sum rules. The prediction $$M_{D_s\bar{D}_s} = 3.98\pm 0.10\, \text {GeV}$$ M D s D ¯ s = 3.98 ± 0.10 GeV is in very good agreement with the experimental value $$M_{X(3960)} = 3956 \pm 5\pm 10 \,\text {MeV}$$ M X ( 3960 ) = 3956 ± 5 ± 10 MeV from the LHCb collaboration and supports assigning the X(3960) as the $$D_s^+D_s^-$$ D s + D s - molecular state with the $$J^{PC}=0^{++}$$ J PC = 0 + + . We take account of our previous works on the four-quark states consisting of two color-neutral clusters and acquire the mass spectrum of the ground state hidden-charm and doubly-charm tetraquark molecular states.

Deep understanding of defect physics, excitonic properties and the ultrafast carrier dynamics in the high mobility p-type transparent CuI is vital for its optoelectronic applications. Here, Liu et al. employ a synergistic approach to unveil these fundamental properties.

Abstract Heterogeneous cells are the main feature of tumors with unique genetic and phenotypic characteristics, which can stimulate differentially the progression, metastasis, and drug resistance. Importantly, heterogeneity is pervasive in human malignant tumors, and identification of the degree of tumor heterogeneity in individual tumors and progression is a critical task for tumor treatment. However, current medical tests cannot meet these needs; in particular, the need for noninvasive visualization of single‐cell heterogeneity. Near‐infrared II (NIR‐II, 1000–1700 nm) imaging exhibits an exciting prospect for non‐invasive monitoring due to the high temporal‐spatial resolution. More importantly, NIR‐II imaging displays more extended tissue penetration depths and reduced tissue backgrounds because of the significantly lower photon scattering and tissue autofluorescence than traditional the near‐infrared I (NIR‐I) imaging. In this review, we summarize systematically the advances made in NIR‐II in tumor imaging, especially in the detection of tumor heterogeneity and progression as well as in tumor treatment. As a non‐invasive visual inspection modality, NIR‐II imaging shows promising prospects for understanding the differences in tumor heterogeneity and progression and is envisioned to have the potential to be used clinically.

BackgroundIn sepsis patients, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) was associated with an increased risk of kidney injury. Furthermore, kidney damage is among the dangerous complications, with a high mortality rate in sepsis patients. However, the underlying predictive model on the prediction of major adverse kidney events within 30 days (MAKE30) in sepsis patients with T2DM has not been reported by any study.MethodsA total of 406 sepsis patients with T2DM were retrospectively enrolled and divided into a non-MAKE30 group (261 cases) and a MAKE30 group (145 cases). In sepsis patients with T2DM, univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were conducted to identify independent predictors of MAKE30. Based on the findings of multivariate logistic regression analysis, the corresponding nomogram was constructed. The nomogram was evaluated using the calibration curve, Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve, and decision curve analysis. A composite of death, new Renal Replacement Therapy (RRT), or Persistent Renal Dysfunction (PRD) comprised MAKE30. Finally, subgroup analyses of the nomogram for 30-day mortality, new RRT, and PRD were performed.ResultsIn sepsis patients with T2DM, Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP), Platelet (PLT), cystatin C, High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL), and apolipoprotein E (apoE) were independent predictors for MAKE30. According to the ROC curve, calibration curve, and decision curve analysis, the nomogram model based on those predictors had satisfactory discrimination (AUC = 0.916), good calibration, and clinical application. Additionally, in sepsis patients with T2DM, the nomogram model exhibited a high ability to predict the occurrence of 30-day mortality (AUC = 0.822), new RRT (AUC = 0.874), and PRD (AUC = 0.801).ConclusionThe nomogram model, which is available within 24 hours after admission, had a robust and accurate assessment for the MAKE30 occurrence, and it provided information to better manage sepsis patients with T2DM.

As a kind of non-invasive, low-cost, and readily available brain examination, EEG has attached significance to the means of clinical diagnosis of epilepsy. However, the reading of long-term EEG records has brought a heavy burden to neurologists and experts. Therefore, automatic EEG classification for epileptic patients plays an essential role in epilepsy diagnosis and treatment. This paper proposes an Attention Mechanism-based Wavelet Convolution Neural Network for epilepsy EEG classification. Attention Mechanism-based Wavelet Convolution Neural Network firstly uses multi-scale wavelet analysis to decompose the input EEGs to obtain their components in different frequency bands. Then, these decomposed multi-scale EEGs are input into the Convolution Neural Network with an attention mechanism for further feature extraction and classification. The proposed algorithm achieves 98.89% triple classification accuracy on the Bonn EEG database and 99.70% binary classification accuracy on the Bern-Barcelona EEG database. Our experiments prove that the proposed algorithm achieves a state-of-the-art classification effect on epilepsy EEG.

The healthy growth of infants during early life is associated with lifelong consequences. Breastfeeding has positive impacts on reducing obesity risk, which is likely due to the varied components of breast milk, such as N-acetylneuraminic acid (Neu5Ac). However, the effect of breast milk Neu5Ac on infant growth has not been well studied. In this study, targeted metabolomic and metagenomic analyses were performed to illustrate the association between breast milk Neu5Ac and infant growth. Results demonstrated that Neu5Ac was significantly abundant in breast milk from infants with low obesity risk in two independent Chinese cohorts. Neu5Ac from breast milk altered infant gut microbiota and bile acid metabolism, resulting in a distinct fecal bile acid profile in the high-Neu5Ac group, which was characterized by reduced levels of primary bile acids and elevated levels of secondary bile acids. Taurodeoxycholic acid 3-sulfate and taurochenodeoxycholic acid 3-sulfate were correlated with high breast milk Neu5Ac and low obesity risk in infants, and their associations with healthy growth were reproduced in mice colonized with infant-derived microbiota. Parabacteroides might be linked to bile acid metabolism and act as a mediator between Neu5Ac and infant growth. These results showed the gut microbiota-dependent crosstalk between breast milk Neu5Ac and infant growth.

The key factors for resistance to chilling injury in apricot fruits were obtained by analyzing the low-temperature storage characteristics of 21 varieties of apricot fruits in the main producing areas of China. Twenty-one varieties of apricots from different production areas in China were stored at 0 °C for 50 d and then shelved at 25 °C. The storage quality, chilling injury, reactive oxygen species (ROS), antioxidant ability, and contents of bioactive substances of the apricots were measured and analyzed. The results showed that the 21 varieties of apricot fruits could be divided into two categories according to tolerance during low-temperature storage, where there was chilling tolerance and lack of chilling tolerance. Eleven varieties of apricots, of which Xiangbai and Yunbai are representative, suffered from severe chilling injury after cold storage and shelf life. After 50 d of storage at 0 °C, the levels of superoxide anions and hydrogen peroxide accumulated in the 11 varieties of apricots with a lack of chilling tolerance during storage were significantly higher than those in the remaining 10 varieties of apricots with chilling tolerance. In addition, the activities of ROS scavenging enzymes, represented by superoxide dismutase, catalase and peroxidase, were significantly decreased in 11 varieties of apricots with a lack of chilling tolerance during storage. The contents of bioactive substances with ROS scavenging ability, represented by ascorbic acid, total phenols, carotenoids, and total flavonoids, also significantly decreased. The 10 varieties of apricots, of which Akeximixi and Suanmao are representative, were less affected by chilling injury because the production and removal of ROS were maintained at normal levels, avoiding the damaging effects of ROS accumulation in the fruit. In addition, the 10 apricot varieties with chilling tolerance during storage had higher sugar and acid contents after harvest. This could supply energy for physiological metabolism during cold storage and provide carbon skeletons for secondary metabolism, thus enhancing the chilling tolerance of the fruits. Based on the results of cluster analysis combined with the geographical distribution of the 21 fruit varieties, it was found that apricot varieties with chilling tolerance during storage were all from the northwestern region of China where diurnal temperature differences and rapid climate changes occur. In conclusion, maintaining the balance of ROS production and removal in apricots during cold storage is a key factor to enhance the storage tolerance of apricots. Moreover, apricots with higher initial glycolic acid and bioactive substance contents are less susceptible to chilling injury.

Abstract Background Neurotrauma is a worldwide public health problem which can be divided into primary and secondary damge. The primary damge is caused by external forces and triggers the overproduction of peroxides and superoxides, leading to long-lasting secondary damage including oxidative stress, wound infection and immunological reactions. The emerging catalysts have shown great potential in the treatment of brain injury and neurogenic inflammation, but are limited to biosafety issues and delivery efficiency. Results Herein, we proposed the noninvasive delivery route to brain trauma by employing highly active gold clusters with enzyme-like activity to achieve the early intervention. The decomposition rate to H2O2 of the ultrasmall gold clusters is 10 times that of glassy carbon (GC) electrodes, indicating excellent catalytic activity. The gold clusters can relieve the oxidative stress and decrease the excessive O2 ·− and H2O2 both in vitro and in vivo. Besides, gold clusters can accelerate the wound healing of brain trauma and alleviate inflammation via inhibiting the activation of astrocytes and microglia through noninvasive adminstration. decrease the peroxide and superoxide of brain tissue. Conclusions Present work shows noninvasive treatment is a promising route for early intervention of brain trauma.

BackgroundIn recent years, the number of elderly patients undergoing cardiac surgery has rapidly increased and is associated with poor outcomes. However, there is still a lack of adequate models for predicting the risk of death after cardiac surgery in elderly patients. This study sought to identify independent risk factors for 1-year all-cause mortality in elderly patients after cardiac surgery and to develop a predictive model.MethodsA total of 3,752 elderly patients with cardiac surgery were enrolled from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care III (MIMIC-III) dataset and randomly divided into training and validation sets. The primary outcome was the all-cause mortality at 1 year. The Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression was used to decrease data dimensionality and select features. Multivariate logistic regression was used to establish the prediction model. The concordance index (C-index), receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC), and decision curve analysis (DCA) were used to measure the predictive performance of the nomogram.ResultsOur results demonstrated that age, sex, Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA), respiratory rate (RR), creatinine, glucose, and RBC transfusion (red blood cell) were independent factors for elderly patient mortality after cardiac surgery. The C-index of the training and validation sets was 0.744 (95%CI: 0.707–0.781) and 0.751 (95%CI: 0.709–0.794), respectively. The area under the curve (AUC) and decision curve analysis (DCA) results substantiated that the nomogram yielded an excellent performance predicting the 1-year all-cause mortality after cardiac surgery.ConclusionsWe developed a novel nomogram model for predicting the 1-year all-cause mortality for elderly patients after cardiac surgery, which could be an effective and useful clinical tool for clinicians for tailored therapy and prognosis prediction.

Objective: This study focused on screening lactic acid bacteria strains with potential probiotic properties. Methods: Five strains of acid-tolerant lactic acid bacteria were screened from twelve low-salt pickles with salt content ≤6%, identified by 16S rDNA, and their probiotic properties were studied. Results: The five strains were Leuconostoc mesenteroides J2, Lactobacillus paracasei N6, Lactobacillu paraplantarum F8, Weissella cibaria M1 and Weissella cibaria M12. Among them, the relative growth rates of L. paracasei N6, W. cibaria M1 and W. cibaria M12 in pH 4.0 medium were 84.23%, 78.32% and 76.29%, respectively, which had strong acid-tolerant capacity. After digestion with gastric fluid at pH 3.0 and intestinal fluid at pH 8.0, the survival rates were 79.26%, 50.65% and 53.37%, respectively, which had strong tolerance to both artificial gastric fluid and intestinal fluid environments. After cultured in 0.3% bile salt for 8 h, the survival rates were more than 30%, and they had strong bile salt tolerance. The hydrophobic rates and self-aggregation rates were both above 60%, and they had strong hydrophobic and self-aggregating capacity. Conclusion: In this study, three strains of acid-tolerant lactic acid bacteria L. paracasei N6, W. cibaria M1 and W. cibaria M12 with probiotic properties were screened, which could be used in the study of compound probiotics.

2-Deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG) is a glucose analog used as a promising anticancer agent. It exerts its effects by inhibiting the glycolytic energy metabolism to deplete cells of energy. The larval stage of Echinococcus relies on glycolysis for energy production. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the in vitro and in vivo efficacy of 2-DG against the larval stage of Echinococcus granulosus and E. multilocularis. 2-DG exhibited significant time- and dose-dependent effects against in vitro cultured E. granulosus protoscoleces and E. multilocularis metacestodes. A daily oral administration of 500 mg/kg 2-DG in E. multilocularis-infected mice effectively reduced the weight of metacestodes. Notably, the combination treatment, either 2-DG (500 mg/kg/day) + albendazole (ABZ) (200 mg/kg/day) or 2-DG (500 mg/kg/day) + half-dose of ABZ (100 mg/kg/day), exhibited a potent therapeutic effect against E. multilocularis, significantly promoting the reduction of metacestodes weight compared with the administration of 2-DG or ABZ alone. Furthermore, the combination significantly promoted apoptosis of the cells of metacestodes and inhibited glycolysis in metacestodes, compared with the administration of 2-DG or ABZ alone. In conclusion, 2-DG exerts an effective activity against the larval stage of Echinococcus. Thus, it may be a promising anti-Echinococcus drug, and its combination with ABZ may provide a new strategy for the treatment of echinococcosis in humans.

Channelrhodopsin-2 (ChR2) has been one of the most important objects in the study of optogenetics. The retinal chromophore molecule absorbs photons and undergoes an isomerization reaction, which triggers the photocycle, resulting in a series of conformational changes. In this study, a series of intermediate structures (including D470, P500, P390-early, P390-late, and P520 states) of ChR2 in the photocycle were modeled, and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations were performed to elucidate the mechanism of ion channel opening of ChR2. The maximum absorption wavelength of these intermediates calculated by time-dependent density function theory (TD-DFT) is in general agreement with the experimental values, the distribution of water density gradually increases in the process of photocycle, and the radius of the ion channel is larger than 6 Å. All these results indicate that our structural models of the intermediates are reasonable. The evolution of protonation state of E90 during the photocycle is explained. E90 will deprotonate when the P390-early transforms into P390-late, in which the two conformations of P390-early and P390-late obtained from the simulations are consistent with the experimental descriptions. To validate the conductive P520 state, the potential mean force (PMF) of Na+ ions passing through the P520 intermediate was calculated by using steered molecular dynamics (SMD) simulation combined with umbrella sampling. The result shows that the Na+ ions passing through the channel with a very low energy barrier, especially in the central gate, is almost barrierless. This indicates that the channel is open in the P520 state.

The MAX phase of the ternary layered compound and the recently attracted attention of the MAB phase have become the research hotspots in the field of structural ceramics for more than 20 years because of their common characteristics of ceramics and metals. The high damage tolerance and high fracture toughness are different from the essential characteristics of traditional ceramics. The overall development of MAX phase and the latest research progress of MAB phase were briefly reviewed in this article, focusing on the analysis of the effect of multi-scale layered structure on macro-mechanical behavior and its internal mechanism. Based on the results of first-principles calculations,the bond stiffness model was established and the quantitative characterization of chemical bond strength was realized, and more importantly, it was clarified that "sufficiently" weak interlayer bonding is the root cause for the extraordinary mechanical properties of ternary layered ceramics. The magnetocaloric effect (MCE) of Fe2AlB2 near room temperature shows the good application prospects of MAB phase compounds in the functional field. After more than 20 years of continuous research, the structure and performance of MAX-phase compounds have gradually become clear. At present, application research for specific scenarios is vigorously carried out all over the world. However, the current knowledge of MAB phase compounds is still very limited. Therefore, synthesizing and characterizing the structure, mechanical properties, physical properties, and service behaviour of existing MAB phase compounds are the important tasks at this stage. First-principles numerical simulation based on density functional theory (DFT) can play an important role, just as in understanding the extraordinary properties of MAX phase compounds and discovering new compounds.

In this work, we take all the color-antitriplet diquarks, such as the scalar, pseudoscalar, vector, axialvector and tensor diquarks, as the basic constituents to construct the local pseudoscalar four-quark currents without importing the explicit P-waves to implement the negative-parity, and investigate the mass spectroscopy of the pseudoscalar hidden-charm tetraquark states without strange, with strange and with hidden-strange in the framework of the QCD sum rules in a consistent and comprehensive way. We obtain the lowest mass 4.56±0.08GeV for the pseudoscalar tetraquark state with the symbolic quark constituents cc¯ud¯, which is much larger than the experimental value 4239±18−10+45MeV extracted by the LHCb collaboration.

Abstract Background Cystic echinococcosis (CE), caused by the larval stage of Echinococcus granulosus (sensu stricto), is a life-threatening but neglected zoonosis. Glycolytic enzymes are crucial molecules for the survival and development of E. granulosus. The aim of this study was to investigate the molecular characterization, immunogenicity, tissue distribution and serodiagnostic potential of E. granulosus hexokinase (EgHK), the first key enzyme in the glycolytic pathway. Methods EgHK was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli. Specific serum antibodies were evaluated in mice immunized with recombinant EgHK (rEgHK). The location of EgHK in the larval stage of E. granulosus was determined using fluorescence immunohistochemistry, and the potential of rEgHK as a diagnostic antigen was investigated in patients with CE using indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results Recombinant EgHK could be identified in the sera of patients with CE and in mouse anti-rEgHK sera. High titers of specific immunoglobulin G were induced in mice after immunization with rEgHK. EgHK was mainly located in the tegument, suckers and hooklets of protoscoleces and in the germinal layer and laminated layer of the cyst wall. The sensitivity and specificity of the rEgHK-ELISA reached 91.3% (42/46) and 87.8% (43/49), respectively. Conclusions We have characterized the sequence, structure and location of EgHK and investigated the immunoreactivity, immunogenicity and serodiagnostic potential of rEgHK. Our results suggest that EgHK may be a promising candidate for the development of vaccines against E. granulosus and an effective antigen for the diagnosis of human CE.

Here, the authors report Au25 clusterzymes which are endowed with high catalytic activity and selectivity in a range of enzyme-mimicking reactions.

Green innovation is the inevitable trend in the development of the supply chain, and thus the government adopts subsidy policies for the relevant enterprises to enhance their enthusiasm for green development. In view of the manufacturers’ fairness concerns in the dual-channel green supply chain that is composed of manufacturers and retailers, we propose a novel Stackelberg game model led by retailers and analyze the impact of manufacturers’ fairness concerns on the decision-making of manufacturers and retailers in the dual-channel green supply chain under government subsidies. The results show that only the wholesale price of products, manufacturers’ profits, and retailers’ profits are affected by manufacturer’s fair concerns. When manufacturer has fair concerns, product greenness and profits of supply chain members rise with the increase in government subsidies. The results can offer an effective reference for the dual-channel supply chain members with fairness concerns to make optimal decisions under government subsidies.

Mango (Mangifera indica L.) is an important tropical fruit with a delicate taste, pleasant aroma, and high nutritional value. In recent years, with the promotion of the rural revitalization strategy and the development of the poverty alleviation industry, China has gradually become an important mango producer. However, the short shelf life of mango fruit, the difficulty in regulating the postharvest quality, and the lack of preservation technology are the main problems that need to be solved in China‘s mango industry. In this paper, the physiological changes and mechanisms of mango during postharvest ripening were summarized, including sugar and acid changes, pigment synthesis and accumulation, and aroma formation and accumulation. The physical, chemical, and biological technologies (such as endogenous phytohormones, temperature, light, chemical preservatives, and edible coatings) commonly used in the regulation of mango postharvest ripening and their action principles were emphatically expounded. The shortcomings of the existing mango postharvest ripening regulation technology and physiological mechanism research were analyzed in order to provide a reference for the industrial application and development of mango postharvest.
