This review addresses the applications of electrospinning in the thermal management of polymer matrix composites, mainly involving enhanced thermal conductivity, thermal insulation, and passive daytime radiative cooling.

Soil moisture is a key metric to assess soil health. Water held in the shallow subsurface between soil particles enables various biogeochemical and hydrological processes indispensable to soil functions. Potential soil moisture deficit may raise the irrigation demands, which further exacerbates the stress on the water supply. The changes in soil moisture can impact climate, further amplifying the climatic anomalies and intensifying extreme weather events. Thus, understanding soil moisture and its dynamics over time are of broad scientifical interest and practical implications. Despite the vital importance of soil moisture, it still lacks sufficient means to properly assess the parameter at a regional scale, which is an essential research dimension for addressing practical issues in the agricultural and environmental sectors. Ambient noise seismology provides new possibilities to infer subsurface changes in a real-time, non-intrusive, and costless manner. In this study, we map the temporal variations in soil moisture for the great Alpine region and the Italy peninsular with ambient seismic noise. It is the first time that the seismic method has been applied to map water resources at a regional scale using an ordinary seismic network setup. The seismic method helps in bridging the resolution gap between current pointwise (e.g., tensio-, electrical- and neutron-meter) and global (e.g., satellite-based remote sensing) investigations, providing complementary information for both scientific research and public decision-making.

Low-frequency earthquakes are repetitive seismic events that occur downdip of the seismogenic megathrust where slow aseismic fault slip dominates the tectonic budget. These tiny events, distinct from regular earthquakes, have the potential to provide in-situ constraints on the fault rheology where slow slip occurs, but are hard to study due to their small signal amplitudes. We take advantage of the unique geometry of seismicity in the Nankai subduction zone, where low-frequency earthquake sandwich regular earthquakes, to study the source signature of low-frequency earthquakes and the local seismic structure. We isolate two 10 km-radius depth columns, one where low-frequency earthquakes periodically occur and one where they do not. Taking the collocated regular earthquakes below and above the subducting plate interface, we develop a three-step cluster-based approach to correct for local site effects, extract the accurate Empirical Attenuation functions, and apply them to the correction of Low-frequency earthquakes. The falloff of corrected displacement spectra inversely obeys the 𝝎-square hypothesis with a maximum possible corner frequency of fc at ~2 - 3Hz. The local 1-D vertical structure inverted from earthquake travel times suggests a distinct difference in the ratios of seismic attenuation and velocity. Assuming seismic waves go through similar paths within depth column, the local attenuation is insufficient to generate specific low-frequency spectral content that differs from fast earthquakes. Instead, our results support a relative contrast of Q over depth with a higher Q at shallow depth above the zone of low-frequency earthquakes. This high Q layer may serve as an impermeable layer and produce an environment with enhanced pore-fluid pressure and heterogeneous frictional characteristics different from the zone with regular earthquakes. This particular condition favors low-frequency earthquakes and generates distinct nucleation procedures or/and rupture processes of low-frequency earthquakes from regular earthquakes.

Kluyveromyces marxianus is expected to be used in the production of yeast extracts due to its good fermentation ability and nutritional properties. Yeast autolysis is a key process to produce yeast extract and vacuum negative pressure stress can be used as an effective way to assist autolysis. However, the molecular mechanism of initiating Kluyveromyces marxianus autolysis induced by vacuum negative pressure and the higher temperature is still unclear. In this study, RNA-seq technology was performed mainly to analyze autolytic processes in Kluyveromyces marxianus strains. Considerable differentially expressed genes (DEGs) of downregulation were significantly enriched in 7 Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathways related to synthesis and transport of RNA and ribosome, which indicated that abnormal protein translations had already occurred in autolytic process. Interestingly, due to obvious change of related DEGs, endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation (ERAD) and autophagy were activated and cell wall integrity pathway was hindered. Under the continuous influence of the external stress environment, the long-term changes of the above pathways triggered a vicious circle of gradual damage to yeast cells, which is the main cause of yeast autolysis. These results may provide important clues for the in-depth interpretation of the yeast autolytic mechanism.

Long-term consumption of a Western diet is a major cause of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, the effects of diet on pancreatic structure and function remain unclear. Rats fed a high-fat, high-fructose (HFHF) diet were compared with rats fed a normal diet for 3 and 18 months. Plasma biochemical parameters and inflammatory factors were used to reflect metabolic profile and inflammatory status. The rats developed metabolic disorders, and the size of the islets in the pancreas increased after 3 months of HFHF treatment but decreased and became irregular after 18 months. Fasting insulin, C-peptide, proinsulin, and intact proinsulin levels were significantly higher in the HFHF group than those in the age-matched controls. Plasmatic oxidative parameters and nucleic acid oxidation markers (8-oxo-Gsn and 8-oxo-dGsn) became elevated before inflammatory factors, suggesting that the HFHF diet increased the degree of oxidative stress before affecting inflammation. Single-cell RNA sequencing also verified that the transcriptional level of oxidoreductase changed differently in islet subpopulations with aging and long-term HFHF diet. We demonstrated that long-term HFHF diet and aging-associated structural and transcriptomic changes that underlie pancreatic islet functional decay is a possible underlying mechanism of T2DM, and our study could provide new insights to prevent the development of diet-induced T2DM.

Hypoxic/ischemic brain injury is a potential etiology of Parkinson’s disease (PD). There is evidence suggesting that the up-regulation of enkephalin, an endogenous opioid, in the midbrain may have a compensatory effect against Parkinson’s disease (PD) related motor symptoms. To explore the potential mechanism underlying this action, we investigated the effects of hypoxia and MPP+, a pathological inducer PD, on enkephalin, δ-opioid receptor (DOR, an enkephalin receptor), and prohormone convertases 1 and 2 (PC1/PC2) on in- vitro PD model of PC12 cells. We found that (1) short-term hypoxia could inducing cell protection by up-regulating the level of enkephalin, accompanied by the synergistic up-regulation of δ-opioid receptor (DOR) ; (2) a longer period of hypoxia or MPP+ insult accelerated the proteolysis of proenkephalin by up-regulating PC1/PC2 which might produce more active enkephalin and thus activating DOR for cell protection; (3) The levels of enkephalin and DOR decreased significantly after a prolonged hypoxia or MPP+ insult; and (4) a certain degree of hypoxia improved cell viability and enhance the transcription of dopamine D1/D2 receptorby increasing their mRNA level. Our findings suggest that hypoxia may induce an interactive reaction of enkephalin, DOR and dopamine receptor D1/D2, which is potentially beneficial for cell surviving to severe/prolonged hypoxia and PD condition.

Detecting pesticide residues in human serum is a challenging process due to trace-level chronic exposure. Several methods using magnetic adsorbents have been developed for analyzing pesticide residue levels in human serum, but it is still difficult to achieve lower quantitative levels, and the adsorption mechanism for extracting pesticides is unclear. International audience; We use ambient-noise-based seismic monitoring to detect an anomalous seismic velocity decrease (∼0.01%) widely distributed in Honshu that arose about 1 year after the 2011 Mw 9.0 Tohoku-Oki earthquake. The anomaly is located along the central quaternary volcanic axis, and it suggests that the changes are related to volcanic processes. After correction for possible external environmental forcing-related velocity changes, the anomaly in the seismic velocity remains, which implies that it is associated with some internal physical process. We show a general strong positive correlation between the seismic velocity changes and the intensity of ground motion derived from the daily cumulative seismic moment. However, the lack of correlation during the anomaly itself reveals that this reduction is not directly caused by earthquake shaking. Tiltmeter low-pass observations show temporal variations that are correlated with the velocity changes. These observations strengthen the hypothesis of actual physical deformation. A previously reported decrease in fault strength (∼10%) for the same period as the velocity anomaly further supports a physical property change in the upper crust. We also note a simultaneous increase in activity of low-frequency events in the volcanic area, which suggests an increase in pore pressure in the upper crust. We propose that the observed anomalous seismic velocity decrease in early 2012 is due to an increase in pore pressure induced by an upward fluid migration, which at the same time triggered the increase in fluid-driven swarm seismicity and low-frequency events. We recall the depth-dependent seismic velocity changes in Honshu and derive an average diffusion of 1 m2/s over around 11 months after the Tohoku-Oki earthquake.

We theoretically analyze the effects of Cu/SC (superconductor) ratio, strain, and the ramp path on thermomagnetic instabilities of the superconducting coil. By considering the multi-filamentary structures, we find that a lower Cu/SC ratio leads to higher temperature peaks. The strain causes a higher frequency of flux jumps and higher voltage peaks. The temperatures recover to working temperature more difficultly and SC wires quench earlier in the presence of strain. For the jagged ramp cases, few flux jumps occur at the decreasing branch, whereas frequent flux jumps can be observed promptly when the applied current exceeds the pre-existing peak. Our simulated results agree well with experimental observations in Nb3Sn coils. Additionally, unlike the pulsed flux jumps observed in linear ramp cases, giant and prolonged flux jumps are observed at the increasing branch with a sinusoidal ramp path when the applied current is sufficiently large., Comment: 17 pages, 9 figures

For solving the problems of high dispersion of residual oil and low accuracy of residual oil description in late ultra-high water cut stage, a study on the integration technology of modeling and numerical simulation was carried out with X6D block as the target area, which had an area of 9.7 km2 and contains 586 wells with 100 sedimentary units. A small-scale, non-coarsening modeling and numerical simulation method had been provided to fulfill the anatomy of single sand body and internal architecture according to the geological idea of “defining vertical period, demarcating lateral boundary and identifying sedimentary pattern”. The two-step shale bedding fitting modeling with small-scale grid of 15 m × 15 m × 0.15 m was applied to establish fine 3D model, which included the internal architecture distribution information. At the same time, the grid non-coarsening and structured division technique were used in numerical simulation for better convergence and higher operation efficiency, which implemented the numerical simulation of 10.02 million node model in the study area. The simulation revealed that micro-geological boundaries such as interlayer rhythm and shale bedding control the distribution of residual oil. Based on the result, the paper established two interbeded flooding patterns of various types of sand bodies as “Uniform pattern” and “Penetration pattern”, quantified the distribution rules of interlayer residual oil and dominant seepage channels in thick oil layers, and effectively guided the optimal selection of fracturing and water shutoff measures in the study area. By the comparison of 7 wells before and after fracturing, a good development effect was obtained with the average oil production of single well increased by 3.74 t/d, the water content decreased by 3.21%, and the accumulated oil production increased by 5769.5 t within the effective period, which proved the wide application prospect of small-scale, non-coarsening numerical simulation technology in late ultra-high water cut stage.

Vortex penetration and vortex dynamics are significantly important to superconducting devices, for example, the superconducting cavities, since vortex motions will create substantial dissipation. In experiments, different kinds of defects as well as different degrees of surface roughness were observed. By considering these in superconductor–insulator–superconductor (SIS) structures, vortex penetration and vortex dynamics are very complex due to their interactions with defects and the influence of surface roughness, especially for radio-frequency (RF) magnetic fields, which are quite different from ideal defect-free SIS multilayer structures. In this paper, within the Ginzburg–Landau theory, we perform numerical simulations to study the effects of nanoscale defects, surface roughness, and cracks in the coating layer on the vortex penetration and superheating field in Nb3Sn–I–Nb multilayer structures exposed to a quasi-static magnetic field. The validation of the numerical simulations is verified by good consistency with previous theoretical results in ideal defect-free SIS multilayer and single Nb structures. Furthermore, we explore the vortex dynamics and induced voltages in SIS multilayer structures exposed to RF magnetic fields for both ideal defect-free structures and real situations that include surface roughness. Our numerical simulations indicate that, unlike the quasi-static case, the advantage of SIS multilayer structures over a single Nb structure depends on the degree of surface roughness as well as the frequency and amplitude of the RF magnetic field. The results of this paper provide deep insight to evaluate the actual performance-limiting characteristics of next-generation superconducting RF cavities with different proposed candidate materials, which are quite susceptible to nonideal surfaces.

Detecting pesticide residues in human serum is a challenging process due to trace-level chronic exposure. Several methods using magnetic adsorbents have been developed for analyzing pesticide residue levels in human serum, but it is still difficult to achieve lower quantitative levels, and the adsorption mechanism for extracting pesticides is unclear. Herein, we propose a feasibility concept of using C18-functionalized magnetic nanoparticles for the adsorption of target pesticides, focusing on the extensively used weakly polar pesticides based on molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. To support this, the facilitated target nanoparticles of Fe3O4@SiO2–C18 were synthesized at a size of 12–13 nm with a magnetic saturation of 40 emu/g. After optimizing and establishing the extraction conditions (1.8 mL C18 modifier, 10 mg sorbents, 3 min adsorption time, 1000 μL ACN for desorption eluent at pH 3.8 and 5 min desorption time), which exhibited recovery = 72.3%–118.3% with RSDs = 0.03–6.57, linearity at 0.01–10 ng/mL with R2 = 0.9561–0.9993, and LODs = 0.01–0.30 ng/mL for the 11 weakly polar pesticides in human serum. Furthermore, the mechanism by which the C18 group selectively extracts weakly polar pesticides was confirmed by binding van der Waals and electrostatic interactions under stable and strong binding energy. The extraction process of efficient adsorption and desorption with C18 functional magnetite nanoparticles suggests a simple method for detecting weakly polar pesticides. The concept may lead to a general approach to analyzing multiple pesticide residues in human serum at trace levels.

Noise-based crustal seismic velocity changes are known to be affected by environmental perturbations, such as rainfall, atmospheric pressure loading, and temperature changes. Similar to geodetic observations, these external perturbations can mask the effects of tectonic and volcanic processes. In this study, we benefit from the dense Hi-net short-period seismic network that covers the entire Japan to measure continuous changes in seismic velocities over a few years, using noise-based seismic monitoring. Some strong seasonal seismic velocity changes are observed in both southern Japan (Kyushu Island) and northern Japan (Hokkaido Island). Decreasing of seismic velocities in summer in southern Japan can be clearly explained by a model of increased crustal fluid pore pressure associated with high rainfall. In northern Japan, it is necessary to adopt a more complex model to explain the observed seismic velocity variations, which takes into account precipitation, snow depth, and sea level changes. Moreover, western and eastern Hokkaido Island show very different responses to these different external perturbations. The models developed are used to remove the seasonal components of the seismic velocity changes. The minimum remaining detectable seismic velocity change reduces to 10−5, which allows detection of crustal responses to small earthquakes that are previously hidden in the strong seasonal perturbations.

Monitoring temporal changes in seismic wavespeed can inform our understanding of the evolution of crustal rocks’ mechanical state caused by perturbations in stress field, damages, and fluids. Furthermore, imaging these time-lapse changes in space can help unravel the response of rocks with different elastic properties. In this study, we analyze the spatiotemporal variations of seismic wavespeed in Southern California from 2007 to 2017. We compute the Green’s functions by daily cross-correlations using ambient noise at over three hundred broadband seismic stations. Instead of calculating simply the linear regressions of travel-time shifts over lag-times, which only resolves homogeneous changes, we scrutinize the variations of travel-time shifts at different lag-times and frequencies using coda-wave sensitivity kernels, in order to probe the spatial distribution of wavespeed changes. The long-term and large-scale analysis allows us to investigate the mechanical response of different crustal materials to various transient processes. As an example we use the 2010 Mw 7.2 El Mayor-Cucapah Earthquake (EMC) and show that large coseismic wavespeed reductions occur in Salton Sea area and the Los Angeles sedimentary basin. In the latter region, the ground motion amplification and high susceptibility of sedimentary materials explain the remote signature of the earthquake. In the Salton Sea region, particularly in the geothermal area with highly pressurized fluids, the non-linear crustal response illustrated by wavespeed changes can be analyzed with regard to the high-level micro-seismicity triggered by EMC.

International audience; Over the past two decades, the development of the ambient noise cross-correlation technology has spawned the exploration of underground structures. In addition, ambient noise-based monitoring has emerged because of the feasibility of reconstructing the continuous Green’s functions. Investigating the physical properties of a subsurface medium by tracking changes in seismic wave velocity that do not depend on the occurrence of earthquakes or the continuity of artificial sources dramatically increases the possibility of researching the evolution of crustal deformation. In this article, we outline some state-of-the-art techniques for noise-based monitoring, including moving-window cross-spectral analysis, the stretching method, dynamic time wrapping, wavelet cross-spectrum analysis, and a combination of these measurement methods, with either a Bayesian least-squares inversion or the Bayesian Markov chain Monte Carlo method. We briefly state the principles underlying the different methods and their pros and cons. By elaborating on some typical noise- based monitoring applications, we show how this technique can be widely applied in different scenarios and adapted to multiples scales. We list classical applications, such as following earthquake-related co- and postseismic velocity changes, forecasting volcanic eruptions, and tracking external environmental forcing-generated transient changes. By monitoring cases having different targets at different scales, we point out the applicability of this technology for disaster prediction and early warning of small-scale reservoirs, landslides, and so forth. Finally, we conclude with some possible developments of noise-based monitoring at present and summarize some prospective research directions. To improve the temporal and spatial resolution of passive-source noise monitoring, we propose integrating different methods and seismic sources. Further interdisciplinary collaboration is indispensable for comprehensively interpreting the observed changes.

The alkylation reaction of thiophenic sulfides with olefin in model fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) gasoline has been carried out over many kinds of organic-inorganic heteropoly acids, H 3 PW 12 O 40 , and AlPW 12 O 40 . The results have showed that organic-inorganic heteropoly acid [Bmim]H 2 PW 12 O 40 exhibits the best catalytic activity for the alkylation of thiophene (T), 2-methyl thiophene (2-MT) and 3-methyl thiophene (3-MT). Many effect factors for the alkylation of thiophenic sulfides catalyzed by [Bmim]H 2 PW 12 O 40 have been fully investigated. Under the optimal reaction conditions (the catalyst dosage 1 wt%, reaction temperature 120 °C, reaction time 40 min and the stirring rate 500 rpm), the conversions of T, 2-MT and 3-MT all can nearly reach up to 100%. [Bmim]H 2 PW 12 O 40 has also exhibited good stability and recyclability. The conversions of thiophenic sulfides nearly remain unchanged during 11 recycles of [Bmim]H 2 PW 12 O 40 . Apparent reaction kinetics for the alkylation of thiophenic sulfides is studied. The alkylations of T, 2-MT and 3-MT all show the pseudo-first-order kinetic characteristics. The order of the reaction rate constants of three thiophenic sulfides is 2-MT > 3-MT > T. However, the calculated apparent activation energies of T, 2-MT and 3-MT are 62, 45.54 and 71.33 kJ/mol, respectively. So, the order of apparent activation energies is 3-MT > T > 2-MT.

In order to adapt the fast dynamic performances of Buck DC/DC converter, and reduce the influence on converter performance owing to uncertain factors such as the disturbances of parameters and load, a control strategy based on two-dimensional hybrid cloud model is proposed. Firstly, two cloud models corresponding to the specific control inputs are determined by maximum determination approach, respectively, and then a control rule decided by the two cloud models is selected by a rule selector, finally, according to the reasoning structure of the rule, the control increment is calculated out by a two-dimensional hybrid cloud decision module. Both the simulation and experiment results show that the strategy can dramatically improve the dynamic performances of the converter, and enhance the adaptive ability to resist the random disturbances, and its control effect is superior to that of the current-mode control.

The RANKL/RANK/OPG pathway plays an important role in regulating bone remodeling and bone turnover. However, the association of the genes variants with the risk of ONFH has rarely been reported. Here, we analyzed the correlation of the 10 SNPs polymorphisms of RANKL, RANK, OPG, TRAF6, and NFATC1 genes with the risk and development of ONFH in 200 ONFH patients and 177 health controls of Chinese population with using Mass ARRAY® platform. The results showed that the recessive model of NFATC1rs9518 was significantly associated with increased ONFH risk (OR:8.223, P=0.048); the proportion of stage Ⅳ patients in the rs9518TC genotype carriers was statistically higher than that of stage Ⅲ patients (P=0.03); in the T-C haplotype carriers of Naftac1, the proportion of bilateral hips lesions was also significantly enhanced than that of unilateral hip lesions(P=0.05). In addition, the proportion of idiopathic ONFH in the TT genotype carriers of OPGrs2073617 was significantly higher than that of steroid or alcohol-induced ONFH, respectively, while in the TC genotype carriers of the SNP, the proportion of idiopathic ONFH remarkably decreased compared with that of Alcohol-induced ONFH, P=0.021. Our results were first found that NFATC1rs9518 closely associated with the risk and the development of ONFH, while OPGrs2073617 statistically correlated with the etiological classification of ONFH.

The paper uses MSR-16 portable multispectral radiometer made in the USA and computes the numbers of the test units by pulling the formula on the radiometer effective observation area, which solves the problem on the uncertain numbers of computing the times on region visible light band spectral radiation ratio M_D. The paper uses CI-310 portable photosynthesis measurement system made by American CID Company and measures the net photosynthetic rate of a group of soybean plant. M_D and C_D are normalized by the normalization method [0,1]. Then, the normalization data M_D1 and C_D1 are gained . Based on the different test time, M_D1 is divided of M_D11 and M_D12. C_D1 is divided of C_D11 and C_D12. The paper uses polynomial kernel function, gauss kernel function, sigmoid kernel function and bio-selfadaption kernel function constructed by us with Support Vector Machine. Penalty parameter c and parameter g separately are optimized with optimization algorithms such as grid-search，genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization. Based on the formula epsilon-SVR and the formula nu-SVR with Support Vector Machine, the paper constructs the prediction model on the net photosynthetic rate of a group of soybean plant by using of the cross combination with four kernel functions, three optimization methods and two formulas. The test results are as follows: in the condition of S=17 m2 which is the test plan area of soybean plant and the H=2 m which is the high on MSR-16 portable multispectral radiometer above the canopy of soybean plant, the prediction accuracy is up to 85% on the No.1 prediction set C_D12 and the prediction accuracy is up to 82% on the No.2 prediction set C_D12 based on the model epsilon-SVR-bio-selfadaption-grid-search. In the condition of other combinations with S and H, the prediction accuracy is up to 81% on the No.2 prediction set C_D12 based on the model epsilon-SVR-bio-selfadaption-grid-search. The model epsilon-SVR-bio-selfadaption-grid-search indicates the validity of bio-selfadaption kernel functions which is constructed by our previous research with support vector machine. The model epsilon-SVR-bio-selfadaption-grid-search indicates the rationality of the measure method on visible spectral data in the test area. The model epsilon-SVR-bio-selfadaption-grid-search indicates the feasibility of the prediction method on net photosynthetic rate of soybean plant groups by using of visible spectrum.

The occurrence of greenhouse vegetable diseases and its epidemic seriously affect the production and management of facility agriculture, which greatly reduce the economic benefits of facility agriculture. In order to achieve nondestructive and accurate prediction of greenhouse vegetable diseases, this paper taking cucumber downy mildew disease as the research object, constructed spectrum characteristic index by using chlorophyll fluorescence induced by laser and established the prediction model of greenhouse vegetable diseases. In this paper, the experiment used comparative analysis method. The healthy leaves of the crops were inoculated with the pathogen spores, the spectrum curves of four groups of test samples: healthy, 2 d inoculated, 6 d inoculated and the ones with obvious symptoms were collected; then qualitative analysis was given to the variation regulation of the fluorescence intensity with the leaf samples infected with the pathogen spores. The chlorophyll fluorescence spectrum index k1=F685/F512 and k2=F734/F512 were created by using the peak and valley values of different bands. According to the range of values, set k1=20 and k2=10 as the characteristic value to judge the sample with obvious symptoms or with no obvious symptoms, and the accuracy rate of the judgment was 96% and 94% respectively. Based on spectrum index created and the classification results of sample health status, we selected the spectrum index F685/F512, F685-F734, F715/F612 to determine the health status of the sample and selected spectrum index F685/F512, F734/F512, F685-F734, F715/F612 as the inputs of quantitative analysis model. Regarding classification accuracy of prediction set as the evaluation criteria, we compared three data modeling methods: discriminant analysis, BP neural network and support vector machine. The results showed that the forecasting ability can reach 91.38% when the support vector machine was used as the modeling method for predicting the downy mildew disease. Use the method with chlorophyll fluorescence induced by laser to construct spectrum index to study the prediction of plant diseases, which has a good classification and identification effect.

HLA-haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (haplo-HSCT) is an effective and immediate treatment for high-risk acute myeloid leukemia (HR-AML) patients lacking matched donors. Relapse remains the leading cause of death for HR-AML patients after haplo-HSCT. Accordingly, the prevention of relapse remains a challenge in the treatment of HR-AML. In a multicenter randomized controlled trial in southwestern China, 178 HR-AML patients received haplo-HSCT with conditioning regimens involving recombinant human granulocyte colony–stimulating factor (rhG-CSF) or non–rhG-CSF. The cumulative incidences of relapse and graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), 2-year leukemia-free survival (LFS), and overall survival (OS) were evaluated. HR-AML patients who underwent the priming conditioning regimen with rhG-CSF had a lower relapse rate than those who were treated with non-rhG-CSF (38.2%; 95% confidence interval [CI], 28.1% to 48.3% versus 60.7%, 95% CI, 50.5% to 70.8%; P < .01). The cumulative incidences of acute GVHD, chronic GVHD, transplantation-related toxicity, and infectious complications appeared to be equivalent. In total, 53 patients in the rhG-CSF–priming group and 31 patients in the non-rhG-CSF–priming group were still alive at the median follow-up time of 42 months (range, 24 to 80 months). The 2-year probabilities of LFS and OS in the rhG-CSF–priming and non-rhG-CSF–priming groups were 55.1% (95% CI, 44.7% to 65.4%) versus 32.6% (95% CI, 22.8% to 42.3%) (P < .01) and 59.6% (95% CI, 49.4% to 69.7%) versus 34.8% (95% CI, 24.9% to 44.7%) (P < .01), respectively. Multivariate analyses indicated that the 2-year probability of LFS of patients who achieved complete remission (CR) before transplantation was better than that of patients who did not achieve CR. The 2-year probability of LFS of patients with no M4/M5/M6 subtype was better than that of patients with the M4/M5/M6 subtype in the G-CSF–priming group (67.4%; 95% CI, 53.8% to 80.9% versus 41.9%; 95% CI, 27.1% to 56.6%; P < .05). This study suggests that the rhG-CSF–priming conditioning regimen is an acceptable choice for HR-AML patients, especially for the patients with no M4/M5/M6 subtype who achieved CR before transplantation.

LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) submerged combustion vaporiser is applied to convert Liquefied natural gas to gas phase natural gas through using the hot combustion gas generated from submerged combustion. This paper investigated the vaporisation and heat transfer process of a single horizontal tube, a simplified model, to simulate the heat transfer of circular tube heat exchanger used in LNG submerged combustion vaporiser. This work provides a useful computer model for the design of heat exchanger used in LNG submerged combustion vaporiser. The overall heat transfer and vaporisation process of the tube was separated into single-phase liquid, two-phase mixture and single-phase vapour heat transfer regions for calculation and analysis. Through development of a dedicated computer model, a parametric study was carried out to analyse the effects of geometrical size and operating conditions on inner surface convective heat transfer of tube. The results of study suggested that the preferable tube surface temperature for design was found between 280 K and 288 K in order to avoid frost deposition. The minimum tube length required for the overall vaporisation is predicted to be about 16 m when the inner tube diameter set between 0.24 m and 0.28 m.

NOx damages to the environment. It also endangers human body health. It has become a major air pollutant. Only the nitric oxide emissions could be reduced by the improvement of combustion. The economical and reasonable technical measures, which is through selecting rational parameters and combustion process, could decrease the formation of NOx in fuel combustion phase. According to the national bureau of statistics data released, the national NOx emissions will reach 29.14 million ~ 42.96 million t in 2030,what is more ,China will surpass the United States to be the world's largest NOx emissions country. Environmental pollution has become one of the main factors restricting the development of economy in China [1].

Soybean isoflavones play diverse roles in human health, including cancers, osteoporosis, heart disease, menopausal symptoms and pabulums. The objective of this study was to identify the quantitative trait loci (QTL) associated with the isoflavones daidzein (DC), genistein (GeC), glycitein (GlC) and total isoflavone contents (TIC) in soybean seeds. A population of 184 F2:10 recombinant inbred lines derived from a 'Xiaoheidou' x 'GR8836' cross was planted in pot and field conditions to evaluate soybean isoflavones. Twenty-one QTL were detected by composite interval mapping. Several QTL were associated with the traits for DC, GeC, GlC and TIC only. QDGeGlTIC4_1 and QDGlTIC12_1 are reported first in this study and were associated with the DC, GeC, GlC and TIC traits simultaneously. The QTL identified have potential value for marker-assisted selection to develop soybean varieties with desirable isoflavone content.

The state transition matrix are obtained by solving state equations in terms of Laplace inverse transformation and Cayley-Hamilton theorem, and an establishment of a precise discreteiterative mapping of the voltage-fed buck-boost converter operating in discontinuous conduction mode is made. On the basis of the mapping, the converter bifurcation diagrams and Lyapunov exponent diagrams with the input voltage, the resistance, the inductance and the capacitance as the bifurcation parameters are obtained, and the effect of the parameters on the system stability is deeply studied. The results obtained show that they have a great influence on the stability of the system, and the general trend is that the increase of either the voltage-fed coefficient, input voltage or the load resistance, or the decrease of the filtering inductance, capacitance will make the system stability become poorer, and that all the parameters have a critical value, and when they are greater or less than the values, the system will go through stable 1T orbits, stable 2T orbits, 4T orbits, 8T orbits and eventually approaches chaos.

An ant colony optimization (ACO) approach has been developed to deal with process planning problem to achieve the optimal process plan. A disjunctive weighted directed graph is conducted to describe the operations, precedence constraints between operations, and the possible visited path between operation nodes. A represent of process plan is described based on the disjunctive weighted directed graph. Ant colony goes through the necessary nodes on the graph to achieve the optimal solution with the objective of minimizing Total Production Costs (TPC). Extensive comparative experiments have been carried out to demonstrate the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed approach.

Landfill Leachate is a kind of organic wastewater with high concentration and non-biochemical character, and Catalytic Wet Air Oxidation (CWAO) is suitable for this kind of wastewater treatment. In this study, Landfill leachate was treated with Catalytic Wet Air Oxidation (CWAO) method. The monitoring indicators consist of CODCr, absorbance, pH and chroma. The results show that: CODCr removal rate and decolorization rate of landfill leachate reduce with the reduction of the influent pH, the increment of water concentration and the extension of the reaction time; Under the optimized operating conditions: the influent pH of 8.10, the influent CODCr of 16611 mg/L, the reaction time of 90 min, the CODCr removal rate and decolorization rate of landfill leachate reach 56.8% and 83.7%, respectively. The effluent pH is 8.33 and chroma is 1600 times.

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (APBSCT) in combination with rituximab in treatment of CD20+ B cellulous non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (B-NHL). Methods Sixty patients with CD20+ aggressive or refractory and recurrent B-NHL and treated with APBSCT in our department from Jan. 2005 to Jan. 2011 were admitted. All the subjects were divided into 2 groups according to their own choice: 25 patients received rituximab treatment (treatment group) and 35 patients were treated without rituximab treatment (control group). All patients underwent chemotherapy and APBSCT. For patients in treatment group, rituximab was used with CHOP before collecting the stem cells and after the transplantation. After transplantation, rituximab and IL-2 were used in treatment group every 3-6 months as maintenance treatment. Results No side effect was observed during the use of rituximab either before or after transplantation. The mononuclear cell count in treatment and control group was (8.2±2.9)×108/kg and (8.4±3.9)×108/kg (P=0.822), respectively; CD34+cell count was (12.3±12.7)×106/kg and (13.2±13.9)×106/kg (P=0.799), respectively. Haemopoiesis reconstruction was successfully achieved in the patients of treatment group, while 3 patients in control group failed to have haemopoiesis reconstruction. No significant difference was found between two groups on the recovery time of neutrophilic granulocytes and platelets. All patients achieved complete remission. The average follow-up time was 22 months. The disease relapsed in two patients in treatment group and six in control group. The 3-year overall survival rate in treatment group (91.6%) was a little higher than that in control group (69.5%, P=0.060). Conclusion To patients of CD20+ B lymphoma, the use of rituximab shows no side effect before or after collection of stem cell and hemopoiesis reconstruction, and the overall survival rate may be improved.

In a well-controlled multi-center randomized trial in southwestern China, 228 patients with refractory or relapsed AML were received a low-dose CAG regimen either with etoposide (E-CAG) or without etoposide (CAG). The complete remission (CR) rate, overall survival (OS) and toxicity were evaluated. Patients with E-CAG had a higher CR rate (71.1% vs. CAG 50.9%, P=0.0002). The tolerability appeared to be equivalent. Patients with CR who underwent allogenic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) had a higher five-year OS over those without allo-HSCT (73.8% vs. 10.8%, P=0.000). The E-CAG regimen is expected to become a bridge between relapsed or refractory AML and allo-HSCT.

The purposes of this research were to investigate the long-term responses of mandibular condylar cartilage to experimentally induced disordered occlusion and to evaluate changes in the expression of the SDF-1/CXCR4 axis.Experimentally induced disordered occlusions were created in 8-week-old female Sprague-Dawley rats by orthodontic methods. After 24 weeks, remodeling of the mandibular condylar cartilage was assessed by hematoxylin and eosin staining. Protein and mRNA expression of SDF-1, CXCR4, MMP9, IL6, OPG, and RANKL were investigated by means of immunohistochemical staining and real-time polymerase chain reaction.Obvious cartilage degenerative remodeling responses were observed; they appeared as uneven distributions of cellular disposition, loss of cartilage surface integrity, and cell-free areas. Regenerative responses presenting as thickening of the whole and the calcified cartilage layers in the experimental group were also observed. Compared with the age-matched controls, the protein and mRNA levels of SDF-1, CXCR4, MMP9, IL6, and OPG, but not RANKL, were increased in the experimental group (all, P 0.05). In addition, the mRNA level of RANKL/OPG showed a decreasing trend in the experimental group compared with the age-matched controls (P = 0.052).This study demonstrated that long-term experimentally induced disordered occlusion leads to a combined response in degeneration and regeneration of mandibular cartilage, accompanied by active interaction of the SDF-1/CXCR4 axis and local upregulation of MMP9, IL6, and OPG.

The wastewater of halogen products were treated with UASB-SBR method, and the influence of the UASB reactor operation days on the CODCr removal were experiment, decolorization removal and turbidity removal, aeration time, as well as water load. The results showed that: the halogen products wastewater was treated by UASB process; the CODCr removal of wastewater can reach 86.2 %. Then the wastewater were treated with SBR process, and the CODCr of wastewater fell below 100 mg/L, which can meet the second grade discharge standard of “Integrated Wastewater Discharge Standard”（GB8978-1996）.
