Abstract The commercial utilization of Zn metal anodes with high plating capacity is significantly hindered by the uncontrolled growth of dendrites and associated side reactions. Herein, a robust artificial ion‐sieving MXene flake (MXF)‐coating layer, with abundant polar terminated groups, is constructed to regulate the interfacial Zn2+ deposition behavior. In particular, the fragmented MXF coupled with in situ generated quantum dots not only has strong Zn affinity to homogenize electric fields but also generates numerous zincophilic sites to reduce nucleation energy, thus securing a uniform dendrite‐free surface. Additionally, the porous coating layer with polar groups allows the downward diffusion of Zn2+ to achieve bottom‐up deposition and repels the excessive free water and anions to prevent parasitic reactions. The ion‐sieving effect of MXF is firmly verified in symmetric cells with high areal capacity of 10–40 mAh cm−2 (1.0 mA cm−2) and depth of discharge of 15%–60%. Therefore, the functional MXF‐coated anode manifests long‐term cycling with 2700 h of stable plating/stripping in Zn||Zn cell. Such rational design of MXF protective layer breaks new ground in developing high plating capacity zinc anodes for practical applications.

Abstract MXene‐based Zn‐ion capacitors (ZICs) with adsorption‐type and battery‐type electrodes demonstrate high energy storage and anti‐self‐discharge capabilities, potentially being paired with triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) to construct self‐powered systems. Nevertheless, inadequate interlayer spacing, deficient active sites, and compact self‐restacking of MXene flakes pose hurdles for MXene‐based ZICs, limiting their applications. Herein, black phosphorus (BP)‐Zn‐MXene hybrid is formulated for MXene‐based ZIC via a two‐step molecular engineering strategy of Zn‐ion pre‐intercalation and BP nanosheet assembly. Zn ions as intercalators induce cross‐linking of MXene flakes with expandable interlayer spacing to serve as scaffolds for BP nanosheets, thereby providing sufficient accessible active sites and efficient migration routes for enhanced Zn‐ion storage. The density functional theory calculations affirm that zinc adsorption and diffusion kinetics are significantly improved in the hybrid. A wearable ZIC with the hybrid delivers a competitive areal energy of 426.3 µWh cm−2 and ultra‐low self‐discharge rate of 7.0 mV h−1, achieving remarkable electrochemical matching with TENGs in terms of low energy loss, matched capacity, and fast Zn‐ion storage. The resultant self‐powered system efficiently collects and stores energy from human motion to power microelectronics. This work advances the Zn‐ion storage of MXene‐based ZICs and their synergy with TENG in self‐powered systems.

Objective Currently, there is no simple and valid method to predict the length and size of the native anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in each adult patient who will undergo ACL reconstruction. This study aimed to develop an imaging prediction method that can predict the length and size of ACL grafts using the intact posterior cruciate ligament (PCL), in order to enhance the graft preparation individualized sizing. Methods Three hundred and nineteen patients aged 18 years or older who underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the knee at an orthopaedic clinic between September 9, 2021, and February 5, 2023, were included. The length, sagittal diameter, and coronal diameter of the ACL and PCL were measured in all patients, and F‐test were performed to explore linear relationship between ligament measurements. Results Equations were established to predict a variable of the native ACL for the corresponding variable of the intact PCL (i.e., sagittal diameter of the ACL = 4.32 + 1.08 × sagittal diameter of the PCL, and coronal diameter of the ACL = 2.45 + 0.59 × coronal diameter of the PCL, length of the male ACL = 10.92 + 0.64 × length of the male PCL, length of the female ACL = 11.76 + 0.58 × length of the female PCL) (R2 = 0.532; R2 = 0.417; R2 = 0.488; R2 = 0.509; respectively). Conclusions The length and size of the intact PCL in cases without PCL buckling are predictors of the length and size of the native ACL in adults, respectively. The use of this information to optimize graft diameter may lower the rates of ACL graft failure in the future.

This paper focuses on a typical pressure-controlled slide valve, utilizing momentum analysis and computational fluid dynamics to simulate and analyze the asymmetry of steady flow force curves under bidirectional throttling patterns. The entropy production theory is employed to reveal the causes of nonlinearity in the steady flow force of an inlet throttling slide valve. Based on flow field analysis, a flow force compensation scheme is proposed by adding a guiding shoulder and matching it with a suitably sized inner annular cavity. The study reveals that fluid momentum at the non-throttling valve port is the primary cause of the bidirectional throttling flow force difference, and under large-opening inlet throttling conditions, it may reverse the direction of the flow force. Vortex separation caused by turbulent pulsations is one of the intrinsic reasons for the nonlinearity of steady flow force.

The introduction of new internal fixation devices and arthroscopic techniques has led to significant changes in the surgical treatment of tibial eminence fractures (TEFs) in children. In recent years, arthroscopic surgery has arisen as the gold standard for the treatment of TEFs. This popularity of arthroscopic techniques has reduced surgical complications and improved patient prognosis. In this paper, we investigate the current situation of the use of arthroscopic fixation techniques for pediatric TEFs. We searched the PubMed database using the terms “arthroscopic treatment and tibial eminence,” “arthroscopic treatment and tibial spine,” “tibial eminence avulsion”, “tibial spine fracture”, with no limit on the year of publication. From these articles, we reviewed the use of various arthroscopic TEFs fixation techniques reported in the current literature. Overall, we found that the choice of fixation method seems to have no effect on clinical outcomes or imaging results. However, if an easy, strong fixation that is less prone to epiphyseal damage is desired, as a junior practitioner, the anchor technique should be mastered first, whereas for senior practitioners, a variety of fixation techniques for TEFs should be mastered, including anchors, sutures, and screws, so that personalized fixation can be achieved with the least amount of trauma, operative time, and complications. Higher quality studies are needed in the future to provide Useful evidence to determine the optimal fixation technique in terms of clinical outcomes, function, and complications.

Abstract. Background:. Synovectomy has been introduced into total knee arthroplasty (TKA) with the aim of relieving pain and inflammation of the synovium. However, there are no long-term, comparative data to evaluate the effect of synovectomy in TKA. This study was aimed at assessing pain, function, and complications in patients undergoing synovectomy during TKA for osteoarthritis (OA) at long-term follow-up. Methods:. This was a prospective randomized controlled trial of 42 consecutive patients who underwent staged bilateral TKA. Patients undergoing the first-side TKA were allocated to receive TKA with or without synovectomy followed by a 3-month washout period and crossover to the other strategy for the opposite-side TKA. The overall efficacy of both strategies was evaluated by determination of blood loss, the Knee Society score (KSS), and knee inflammation conditions during a 3-month postoperative period. The postoperative pain, range of motion (ROM), and complications were sequentially evaluated to compare the two groups until 10 years after surgery. Results:. At the 10-year follow-up, both groups had a similarly significantly improved ROM (114.88 ± 9.84° vs. 114.02 ± 9.43°, t = 0.221, P = 0.815) and pain relief with no differences between the two groups (1.0 [1.0] vs. 1.0 [1.5], U = 789.500, P = 0.613). Similar changes in total blood loss, KSS, and knee inflammation were found in both groups during 3 months postoperatively (P > 0.05). Additionally, there was no significant difference regarding complications and satisfaction between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusions:. Synovectomy in conjunction with TKA for primary OA does not seem to provide any benefit regarding postoperative pain, ROM, and satisfaction during a 10-year follow-up. In addition, it may not result in more blood loss and increased incidence of long-term complications. Based on our long-term findings, it should not be performed routinely. Trial registration:. Abstract The fast OH− transfer between hydroxide layers is the key to enhancing the charge storage efficiency of layered double hydroxides (LDH)‐based supercapacitors (SCs). Constructing interlayer reactive sites in LDH is much expected but still a huge challenge. In this work, CdS nano‐dots (NDs) are introduced to interlayers of ultra‐thin NiFe‐LDH (denoted CdSinter.‐NiFe‐LDH), promoting the interlayer ions flow for higher redox activity. The excellent performance is not only due to the enlarged layer spacing (from 0.70 to 0.81 nm) but also stems from anchored interlayer reactive units and the undamaged original layered structure of LDH, which contribute to the improvement of OH− diffusion coefficient (1.6 × 10−8 cm2 s−1) and electrochemical active area (601 mF cm−2) better than that of CdS NDs on the surface of NiFe‐LDH (2.1 × 10−9 cm2 s−1 and 350 mF cm−2). The champion CdSinter.‐NiFe‐LDH electrode displays high capacitance of 3330.0 F g−1 at 1 A g−1 and excellent retention capacitance of 90.9% at 10 A g−1, which is better than the NiFe‐LDH with CdS NDs on the surface (1966.6 F g−1). Moreover, the assembled asymmetric SCs (ASC) device demonstrate an outstanding energy density/power density (121.56 Wh kg−1/754.5 W kg−1).

Precipitation products play an important role in monitoring rainstorm processes. This study takes a rare historical event of extreme, heavy precipitation that occurred in Henan Province, China, in July 2021 as a research case. By analyzing the distribution of the spatial and temporal characteristics of precipitation errors, using a probability density function of the occurrence of precipitation and the daily variation pattern, we assess the capability of a radar precipitation estimation product (RADAR), satellite precipitation products (IMERG and GSMAP), a reanalysis product (ERA5) and a precipitation fusion product (the CMPAS) to monitor an extreme rainstorm in the Henan region. The CMPAS has the best fit with the gauge observations in terms of the precipitation area, precipitation maximum and the evolution of the whole process, with a low spatial variability of errors. However, the CMPAS slightly underestimated the precipitation extremum at the peak moment (06:00–08:00). The RADAR product was prone to a spurious overestimation of the originally small rainfall, especially during peak precipitation times, with deviations concentrated in the core precipitation area. The IMERG, GSMAP and ERA5 products have similar performances, all of which failed to effectively capture heavy precipitation in excess of 60 mm/h, with negative deviations in precipitation at mountainfront locations west of northern Henan Province. There is still a need for terrain-specific error revisions for areas with large topographic relief. By merging and processing precipitation data from multiple sources, the accuracy of the CMPAS is better than any single-source precipitation product. The CMPAS has the characteristic advantage of high spatial and temporal resolutions (0.01° × 0.01°/1 h), which play a positive role in precipitation dynamic monitoring, providing early warnings of heavy rainfall processes and hydrological application research.

Objective Diffusion tensor imaging research on the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is limited, and no study has revealed the ACL fibrous microstructure by 7.0-Tesla magnetic resonance imaging. Therefore, we used magnetic resonance imaging to assess the ACL. Methods Eight porcine ACLs were investigated by diffusion tensor imaging. Imaging was performed with a 7.0-Tesla scanner using a diffusion-weighted two-dimensional spin-echo echo-planar imaging pulse sequence optimised for muscle. The diffusion tensor eigenparameters, fractional anisotropy (FA), and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) were used for bones and muscles. Three-dimensional projection maps of the principal eigenvectors were plotted to visualise the microstructure. Results The mean FA and ADC for the ACL were 0.27 ± 0.079 and 0.0012 ± 0.0005, respectively. There were no significant differences between the values in the proximal and distal portions . However, the ADC was smaller in the centre than on the sides (0.0015 ± 0.0007), and the mean FA was larger in the centre than on the sides (0.42 ± 0.23). The ACL fibres were parallel on the proximal and distal sides but interweaved in the centre. Conclusions These findings may be beneficial for artificial ligaments.

ObjectivesTo dynamically investigate otolith function in patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) before, after, and 1 month after repositioning, and explore the possible compensation mechanisms.MethodsThirty-six patients confirmed with BPPV (canal lithiasis) treated in our hospital between August 2020 and March 2021, as well as 36 health controls matched for age and gender (normal control group, NC group) were enrolled. For NC group, the virtual reality (VR) auxiliary static subjective visual vertical (SVV), subjective visual horizontal (SVH), and SVV of dynamic unilateral centrifugation (DUC), were measured at inclusion. For the BPPV group, visual analog scale (VAS) was used to assess the vertigo degree, while static SVV, SVH, and DUC were performed before, after, and 1 month after repositioning. First, we compare the deviations of SVV0/SVH0° when the subject's head is in the positive position, and SVV of DUC between BPPV and NC groups before repositioning, after which we compared the deviations in SVV45, SVV90, SVH45, SVH90°, and SVV of DUC between the affected and unaffected sides before repositioning. Finally, paired t-test was used to compare the VAS score, deviations in static SVV0, SVV45, SVV90, SVH0, SVH45, and SVH90°, and deviations in SVV of DUC before, after, and 1 month after repositioning. (Here, 0, 45, and 90° refer to the angle which the center axis of head deviates from the gravity line.)ResultsSVV0 SVH0°, and SVV of DUC at 120 and 180°/s 0 significantly differed between BPPV and NC group before repositioning. The deviations in SVV45, SVV90, SVH45, SVH90°, and SVV of DUC at 120°/s-2 and 180°/s-4.5 did not significantly differ between bilateral sides in BPPV patients before repositioning. The deviation in SVH90° was significantly lower after repositioning than before. The deviation in SVH45° was significantly higher 1 month after repositioning than before. The deviation angle of SVV of DUC at 180°/s-0 was significantly lower after repositioning than before. The vertigo VAS score of patient with BPPV continued to decrease after repositioning.ConclusionBefore repositioning, the otolithic organ function of BPPV patients was obviously impaired, with no significant difference between the healthy and affected ear. After repositioning, there was a transient recovery of otolithic organ dysfunction followed by a sustained decline to similar levels to before repositioning.

Human beings need abundant material support and energy supply in their exploration of the universe. The sustainable supply of materials is an important condition for long-term space exploration. In situ resource utilization technology (ISRU) is an important way to realize the sustainable development of space exploration, which uses the abundant raw materials in outer space to transform energy and materials. In this paper, a microfluidic reaction device based on in situ resource utilization is designed, which converts H2O and CO2 into O2 and organic matter through photoelectrocatalysis. The flow and mixing process of gas-liquid two-phase flow was studied, and both the characteristics of mass transfer and the chemical reaction of fluids in the microchannel were studied. The dynamic process of the fluid-in-microchannel chemical reaction was expounded, and a prediction model of the volumetric mass transfer coefficient was proposed. The results show that the mass transfer coefficient of the chemical reaction is affected by the gas-liquid flow characteristics, and the mass transfer affects the rate of the chemical reaction. The material conversion of in situ resources by using the microchannel device can improve efficiency and accurately control the reaction products.

In view of the current situation that adjustable electro-hydraulic actuators for pipeline depend on import, effortshave been made to the localization of adjustable electro-hydraulic actuator to guarantee the safety of national energy, toimprove the benefits of pipeline industry and to promote the development of national industry in China. The technical statusat home and abroad was sorted out, and based on the characteristics of pipeline industry, the adjustable electro-hydraulicactuator with dual power system was developed with the unique design technology of hydraulic loop, double closed loopPID control technology and non-contact high-precision measuring technology of magnetostrictive displacement, of whichthe industrial demonstration application was carried out in the oil stations such as Lishu Station and Linyuan Station ofDaqing-Tileling IV Pipeline. The results of factory test, field industrial test and application indicate that only little gap existsbetween the domestic and imported adjustable electro-hydraulic actuators in performance. The study results also providereference to further improve the performance of domestic adjustable electro-hydraulic actuator in future.

Better performance consistency of regrouped batteries retired from electric vehicles can guarantee the residual value maximized, which greatly improves the second-use application economy of retired batteries. This paper develops a fast identification approach for micro-health parameters characterizing negative electrode material and electrolyte in LiFePO4 batteries on the basis of a simplified pseudo two-dimensional model by using Padé approximation is developed. First, as the basis for accurately identifying micro-health parameters, the liquid-phase and solid-phase diffusion processes of pseudo two-dimensional model are simplified based on Padé approximation, especially according to enhanced boundary conditions of liquid-phase diffusion. Second, the reduced pseudo two-dimensional model with the lumped parameter is proposed, the target parameters characterizing negative electrode material (εn, Ds,n) and electrolyte (De, Ce) are grouped with other unknown but fixed parameters, which ensures that no matter whether the target parameters can be achieved, the corresponding varying traces is able to be effectively and independently monitored by lumped parameters. Third, the fast identification method for target micro-health parameters is developed based on the sensitivity of target parameters to constant-current charging voltage, which shortens the parameter identification time in comparison to that obtained by other approaches. Finally, the identification accuracy of the lumped micro-health parameters is verified under 1 C constant-current charging condition.

Objective:To observe the effect of spine nerves muscle stimulation technique(SNMS)combined with scalp acupuncture on early stroke patients with shoulder-hand syndrome(SHS).Methods:A total of 44 patients with shoulder-hand syndrome after early stroke were divided into control group and observation group according to the random number table method, with 22 cases in each group. The control group was treated with scalp acupuncture(The scalp movement area was needled and the midline of the vertex, anterior and posterior oblique line of the parietal of the healthy side were located according to the brain functional area)combined with conventional physiotherapy(included passive joint activity, neural booster and neuromuscular electrical stimulation therapy), 2 hours and 45 minutes per day, 5 days per week. The observation group was treated with spine nerves muscle stimulation combined with scalp acupuncture, 2 hours and 30 minutes per day, 5 days per week. Fugl-Meyer(FMA)of the upper limb motor function, visual analogue scale(VAS)for pain and modified Barthel index(MBI)scores were recorded and compared before and after treatment.Results:There were no significant differences in FMA, VAS and MBI scores between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).In the control group, the FMA score(27.41±6.82 vs 34.36±8.38, Pvs 2.23±1.23, Pvs 39.55±9.90, PPPPP

Objectives:To investigate the therapeutic effect of vocational rehabilitation training camp on patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) returning to society.Methods:A total of 34 patients with spinal cord injury who were hospitalized and received rehabilitation treatments in Xiangya Boai Rehabilitation Hospital from October 2017 to October 2019 were recruited and randomly divided into control group (16 cases) and observation group (18 cases) according to the random number table method. The control group received conventional rehabilitation treatment (including basic training, daily life activity training, traditional Chinese medicine therapy, etc.) for 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 12 weeks. The observation group added 2 weeks of vocational rehabilitation training camp on the basis of conventional rehabilitation treatment, 10 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 2 consecutive weeks, a total of 14 weeks. Patients in two groups were evaluated using general self-efficacy scale (GSES), community integration questionnaire (CIQ), and the lam assessment of stages of employment readiness (LASER) before and after treatment. The statuses of returning to work of patients were followed up by telephone six months after discharge.Results:There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in GSES scores and CIQ scores before treatment (P> 0.05). There were statistically significant differences in GSES scores (20.89±4.86∶31.44±3.42), CIQ-family integration scores (4.39±1.24∶10.50±1.72), CIQ-social integration scores (2.78±0.94∶8.06±1.86), CIQ-production activity scores (0.50±0.62∶3.06±0.80) and LASER scores of the observation group before and after treatment (P< 0.05). There were statistically significant differences in GSES scores (22.06±5.53∶28.63±4.54), CIQ-family integration scores (4.69±1.14∶6.69±1.49), CIQ-social integration scores (3.75±0.93∶6.19±1.17), CIQ-production activity scores (0.75±0.68∶2.13±0.62) and LASER scores of the control group before and after treatment (P< 0.05). After treatment, there were statistically significant differences in GSES scores (31.44±3.42∶28.63±4.54), CIQ-family integration scores (10.50±1.72∶6.69±1.49), CIQ-social integration scores (8.06±1.86∶6.19±1.17), CIQ-production activity scores (3.06±0.80∶2.13±0.62), and LASER scores between the two groups (P< 0.05). Six months after discharge, the rate of returning to work of SCI patients in the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P< 0.05).Conclusion:Vocational rehabilitation training camp can significantly improve the general self-efficacy, community integration, willingness to work and the rate of returning to work of patients with spinal cord injury.

Abstract Location data associated with wireless sensor networks represents critical information. Current developments in localization algorithms employed in industrial wireless sensor networks seek to adopt positioning methods that are more robust and stable, and more accurate and efficient while requiring a minimum of resources. Therefore, the present study capitalizes on the industrial wireless sensor network that has a strong correlation between applications to propose a positioning method design based on a Monte Carlo localization algorithm that is ideally suited to the narrow channel environment encountered in underground mining activities. The proposed positioning method offers very low computational complexity, which greatly reduces the use of network resources. Simulation experiments demonstrate that the proposed Monte Carlo localization algorithm provides strong stability and relatively high positioning accuracy.

In-situ resource utilization technology(ISRU) is the key technology for human beings to go out of the earth and realize deep space exploration. As an important resource in outer space, CO2 can be reduced to produce O2 and fuel. In this paper, the reduction of CO2 by ISRU is studied. Artificial photoelectrocatalytic synthesis technology is applied through a microfluidic device to realize the generation of O2 and the production of organic substances in extraterrestrial space. A multi-physical field coupled mathematical model was established for the reduction of CO2 in electrochemical catalytic reaction. The flow and diffusion of gas-liquid two-phase flow in microchannel was studied, and the mechanism of mass transfer and chemical reaction in microscale was analyzed. The gas-liquid mass transfer performance during electrochemical reaction was studied, and the effects of microchannel structure parameters on mass transfer were analyzed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
