【Objective】An efficient factory breeding technology system for tissue cultured seedlings of Mussaenda hybird was established to provide technical support for the large-scale production of the variety.【Method】The stem tips and stem segments of the mother plant of M. hybird were used as explants to study the effects of different disinfection types and treatments, basic medium types and hormone ratios and light quality on the reproductive efficiency of their seedlings. And the effects of different seasons on the survival rate and growth of transplanted seedlings were explored.【Result】Explants of M. hybird were easy to die when exposed to alcohol, and sterile water washing could reduce the toxicity of alcohol to explants; 10% H2O2 treatment for 10 min and 0.1% HgCl2 treatment for 8 min could obtain a large number of sterile materials. Explants had high bud induction rate and strong buds when cultured on 3/2MS + 6-BA 3.0 mg/L + NAA 0.2 mg/L. According to the results of the effects of proliferation methods under different formulations on factory production efficiency of tissue cultured seedlings, propagation of M. hybird was more efficient on 3/2MS + 6-BA 0.5 mg/L + NAA 0.1 mg/L + peptone 0.1 g/L by stems; the rooting rate of tissue cultured seedlings was 100% on 3/2 MS + NAA 0.04-0.05 mg/L + IBA 0.01 mg/L, the roots were strong, and the plants grew well. There were significant differences in the effects of different seasons on the domestication and transplanting of tissue cultured seedlings of M. hybird. It was found that significant differences in the growth and development and chlorophyll content of tissue culture seedlings with different light qualities. Fluorescent lamp treatment was suitable for proliferation and propagation, and LED with 80% red light +20% blue light was suitable for strong seedlings cultivation at rooting stage.【Conclusion】Effective disinfection method of explants, and suitable medium formula and light quality conditions for the induction and proliferation of buds were obtained, which provided a theoretical basis for the factory breeding of Mussaenda hybird.

Date palm regards as a valuable genomic resource for exploring the tolerance genes due to its ability to survive under the sever condition. Although a large number of differentiated genes were identified in date palm responding to salt stress, the genome-wide study of alternative splicing (AS) landscape under salt stress conditions remains unknown. In the current study, we identified the stress-related genes through transcriptomic analysis to characterize their function under salt. A total of 17,169 genes were differentially expressed under salt stress conditions. Gene expression analysis confirmed that the salt overly sensitive (SOS) pathway genes, such as PdSOS2;1, PdSOS2;2, PdSOS4, PdSOS5, and PdCIPK11 were involved in the regulation of salt response in date palm, which is consistent with the physiological analysis that high salinity affected the Na+/K+ homeostasis and amino acid profile of date palm resulted in the inhibition of plant growth. Interestingly, the pathway of “spliceosome” was enriched in the category of upregulation, indicating their potential role of AS in date palm response to salt stress. Expectedly, many differentially alternative splicing (DAS) events were found under salt stress conditions, and some splicing factors, such as PdRS40, PdRSZ21, PdSR45a, and PdU2Af genes were abnormally spliced under salt, suggesting that AS-related proteins might participated in regulating the salt stress pathway. Moreover, the number of differentially DAS-specific genes was gradually decreased, while the number of differentially expressed gene (DEG)-specific genes was increased with prolonged salt stress treatment, suggesting that AS and gene expression could be distinctively regulated in response to salt stress. Therefore, our study highlighted the pivotal role of AS in the regulation of salt stress and provided novel insights for enhancing the resistance to salt in date palm.

[ Objectives J To study the breeding of a new sugarcane variety Yuetang 08776 suitable for mechanized production. [ Methods J With Yuetang 96-86 as the female parent and Yuetang 99-66 as the male parent, Yuetang 08776 was bred by the Bioengineering Institute of Guangdong Academy of Sciences. It was approved as a non-major crop variety by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in December, 2019. Through many years of multi-pilot trials, the characters, traits and disease resistance of Yuetang 08776 were investigated, and the key points of its cultivation technique were summarized. [ Results] Yuetang 08776 is characterized by medium maturity, high sugar content, high and stable yield, strong cold and drought resistance, large number of effective stems, strong ratooning ability and lodging resistance. Yuetang 08776 has excellent agronomic traits, and has been identified as moderately resistant to smut and mosaic disease. The average cane yield of Yuetang 08776 was 119. 89 t/ha, 18. 50 t/ha higher than that of CK, an increase of 18. 25%. The average sugar yield was 17. 15, 2. 11 t/ha higher than that of CK, an increase of 14. 03%. The average sucrose content of Yuetang 08776 in the early period (November to December) was 13. 20%, 0. 71 percentage points lower than that of CK; in the middle and late period ( January to March of the following year), the average sucrose content was 15. 23 %, 0. 22 percentage points lower than that of CK; and the average sucrose content of the whole period was 14. 21 %, 0. 47 percentage points lower than that of CK. [Conclusions] Yuetang 08776 is a sugarcane variety with medium maturity, high sugar, high and stable yield, strong resistance and good ratooning. It is suitable for mechanized seeding, management and harvesting, and suitable for planting and popularizing in most sugarcane production areas of Guangdong, Guangxi and Yunnan. As the largest developing country in the world, China is currently facing the contradiction between power supply shortage and demand growth. Almost three quarters of the electricity supply of China is derived from thermal power (mainly coal combustion). A proper projection of electricity consumption is helpful to deduce China's dependence on coal as a source of energy and thus will be helpful for the health of the environment. Therefore, it is necessary for the government to accurately predict the electricity demand. This paper employs both rolling mechanism and differential evolution algorithm to improve the prediction accuracy of the original grey model. Then, data from the China Federation of Electric Power Industry Development and Environmental Resources Department was adopted as database to test both the efficiency and accuracy of the improved prediction model. Experimental results show that the proposed model clearly outperforms the original grey model with regard to prediction accuracy. In addition, the future electricity consumption and power generation of China have been forecasted until 2025. Six sugarcane plant lines were selected from seedlings owing to good performance in agronomic characters under drought conditions. A special test with drought stress to death under groove was carried out to select the best drought tolerant clones among them. The proportion of bound water to free water content in leaves, cell cytoplasm membrane permeability in leaves, yield components, etc., which were regarded as reasonable indexes to identify drought resistance of sugarcane, were measured. The results showed that both YT06-868 and YT05-339 were winners. The two were high-class drought-resistant clones. On some measured indexes, both of them had higher values than ROC22( the main check variety) and on the other ones, they both had the same values as ROC22. The drought resistance of YT05-291 was moderate and between ROC22 and ROC16( the secondary check variety), while the others had poor drought-resistant according to these indexes. [Objectives] The purpose of this study was to provide reference for cultivation and promotion of a new sugarcane variety Yuetang 03-373, on the basis of analyzing and summarizing the characters of the variety. [Methods] Correlation, multiple regression and path analyses were performed for the yield and yield components of Yuetang 03-373. [Results] Correlation analysis shows that cane yield was significantly correlated with millable stalk number, stalk length and stalk diameter, and among them, the correlation with millable stalk number was the strongest. Multiple regression and path analyses show that millable stalk number contributed the most to cane yield, followed by stalk length, and stalk diameter contributed the least. The regression equation of cane yield against the three yield components was y = -2. 871 3 +1. 549 7x1 +5. 899 0x2 -395.429 4x3 (R=0. 967 2** ). [Conclusions] Millable stalls number and stalls length were the important and major factors for high yield of Yuetang 03-373, indicating that Yuetang 03-373 is a sugarcane variety of millable stalk type. In cultivation, full play should be given to the advantage of Yuetang 03-373 in millable stalk number, a well as stalk length (plant height), in order to achieve the purpose of increasing yield.
