The transparent AgInS2 quantum dots/NiO/Ti3+-TiO2 orderly nanoarray pn junction is synthesized by a hydrothermal-solid reduction-chemical-sputtering method. The obtained AgInS2 QDs/NiO/Ti3+-TiO2 exhibits a transmittance of ∼85%, photovoltaic enhancement of ∼5.0 × 103 folds (photovoltaic conversion efficiency of ∼1.21%) and stable output for a duration of 6 months' cycle. These features are mainly attributed to the synergism of AgInS2 QDs and Ti3+/Ov. Herein, the AgInS2 QDs with high quantum yield and Ti3+/Ov with appropriate shallow donor level can efficiently optimize the carrier kinetic equilibrium, while sustaining good transparency. In addition, the TiO2 nanoarrays with orderly array interval can increase the solar efficiency to further optimize the carrier kinetic equilibrium, while increasing the photovoltaic stability via high Youngs modulus. The dual metal–organic framework template auxiliary Co3O4 nanoparticles/In2O3 nanotubes pn junction is fabricated via a simple chemical calcination method. As revealed, the kinetic curve slope of photodegradation of TC–HCl (tetracycline hydrochloride) of Co3O4/In2O3 pn junction (Co3O4/In2O3-3) can reach to ~ 0.07816 min−1, which exhibits an obvious enhancement than that of single In2O3 (~ 0.01229 min−1, ~ 6.5-fold) and single Co3O4 (~ 0.02010 min−1, ~ fourfold), and achieves a decent photocatalytic stability during 24 h cycling (decreasing by ~ 7–8%). It can be mainly ascribed to that the formed Co3O4/In2O3 pn junction with appropriate potential gradient can improve carrier transportation, including increased carrier transportation, prolonged lifetime and decreased recombination, and the Co3O4 with narrower band gap can increase solar efficiency. Additionally, the three-dimensional tubular structure can provide sufficient specific surface areas (~ 130.84 m2/g) and increase photodegradation stability. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The transparent Mg:NiO/SnO2 pn junction with potential regulation of Mg-doping has been fabricated via a co-sputtering method. The transparent Mg-doped NiO/SnO2 pn junction (2Mg:NiO/SnO2) exhibits highly transmittance of ~ 85%, photovoltaic conversion enhancement of ~ 3.5 × 103 folds than intrinsic NiO/SnO2 pn junction, and decent stability during 10 week's continuous cycle. It can be ascribed to the Mg-doping with potential regulation, carrier increasing and band gap extension, can optimize the photo-generated carrier concentration-mobility kinetic equilibrium efficiently to achieve a higher transparent photovoltaic conversion.
