El Trabajo de Fin de Grado de revisión teórica que se expone a continuación pretende mostrar el concepto del arte povera aplicado en la Educación Infantil, unido a otras prácticas como son el reciclaje o la educación medioambiental. Con la finalidad, de fomentar desde una temprana edad la creatividad, la capacidad para reutilizar materiales de usos diversos, las rutinas y normas, así como las conductas apropiadas que contribuirán al mantenimiento del planeta. Durante el transcurso del documento se expondrán autores, obras e información relevante sobre el movimiento povera, relacionado con el ámbito de la didáctica, así como su posible vinculación con artistas canarios asociados a este enfoque artístico. Se observarán distintos proyectos educativos de arte en instituciones canarias y para finalizar discutiremos en base a propuestas innovadoras que puede aportar el arte povera en el ámbito educativo. Por otro lado, se podrá observar las distintas formas que tiene el arte povera y sus derivados para introducirse dentro de la educación, además del planteamiento de actividades enfocadas con esta temática. Diseñadas con la intención de transmitir los valores y conocimientos propuestos, de una forma activa y motivadora, mediante una enseñanza indirecta, que promueva el aprendizaje íntegro del niño o niña. The End of Degree work of theoretical review that is exposed next tries to show the concept of the arte povera applied in the Infant Education, together with other practices as they are the recycling or the environmental education. With the purpose, to promote from an early age the creativity, the capacity to reuse materials of diverse uses, the routines and norms, as well as the appropriate conducts that will contribute to the maintenance of the planet. During the course of the document, authors, works and relevant information about the povera movement, related to the field of education, as well as its possible links with Canarian artists associated with this artistic approach, will be presented. Different educational projects of art in Canarian institutions will be observed and to finish we will discuss on the basis of innovative proposals that can contribute the arte povera in the educational field. On the other hand, it will be possible to observe the different forms that arte povera and its derivatives have to be introduced into education, as well as the approach of activities focused on this subject. They are designed with the intention of transmitting the values and knowledge proposed, in an active and motivating way, by means of an indirect teaching, which promotes the integral learning of the child

El presente trabajo tiene por objeto realizar un análisis sobre las oportunidades de negocio que comienzan a surgir alrededor de la Logística Inversa, de tal forma que no sólo se contribuya a mejorar la eficiencia de las empresas industriales, sino que pueda llegar a constituir una opción estratégica en sí misma para la generación de valor. Se propone aquí la creación de un parque empresarial de Logística Inversa, que aglutine actividades diversas relacionadas con la valorización de residuos industriales y que se beneficie de las economías de escala, las sinergias generadas entre las empresas en él instaladas, la colaboración de los poderes públicos y el mejor acceso a la información. Los resultados empíricos obtenidos demuestran que el desarrollo de un parque de estas características también representa una oportunidad de negocio interesante para las empresas promotoras, en un momento de grave crisis del sector, especialmente en el caso de España.

El proyecto tiene como objetivo principal conservar los informes de investigación producidos por el Instituto de Investigación en Educación (INIE) de la Universidad de Costa Rica desde 1980 hasta el año 2009. Como el quehacer de esta actividad es operativo, el método consistió básicamente en ubicar el material y seleccionarlo por año; segundo escanear página por página todos los informes finales de investigación; tercero, una vez que este material estuvo escaneado, convertirlo en formato PDF o JPG; por último, la documentación digitalizada fue almacenada en carpetas con su correspondiente signatura, es decir, la misma con que se encuentra en los estantes de la Unidad de Información del INIE, para después ser almacenada en carpetas por año, con el fin de mantener un orden que permita su ubicación en un futuro repositorio. Al cerrar el proyecto, se registraron 301 informes de investigación generados por, aproximadamente, 632 investigadores e investigadoras, entre principales colaboradores, asistentes, cuyo trabajo fue reconocido, y participaciones especiales. Fueron escaneadas y recuperadas, en formato electrónico, cerca de 25345 páginas de los informes que van desde 1981 a 2009, quedando pendiente la incorporación de los nuevos informes generados a partir de esta fecha, cuyos formatos de escritura no necesitan este tipo de procedimientos, sino, la orientación, por medio de un protocolo, para seguir entregando los informes finales de investigación en formato electrónico. ABSTRACT: The main objective of the project is to preserve the research reports prepared by the Research Institute in Education (INIE) of the University of Costa Rica from 1980 to 2009. Since the task of this project is operational, the method used consisted basically of, first, locating the material and selecting it by year; second, scanning all the final research reports page by page; third, once the material was scanned, it was converted into a PDF or JPG format; lastly, the digital documents were saved in a file of its corresponding topic, that is, the same found in the files of the Information Department of INIE, in order to then be stored in files by year with the purpose of locating them in a future repository. At the end of the project, 301 research reports were registered which were conducted by approximately 632 researchers, main collaborators, assistants whose work received recognition, and special participation. Nearly 25345 pages of the reports from 1981 to 2009 were scanned and recovered, of which the incorporation of the new reports is still pending as of this date whose format does not require these type of procedures, but rather, the orientation through a protocol to continue delivering final research reports in electronic format. La experiencia con la que contamos en la enseñanza universitaria, la evolución de las TIC, la integración en el EEES, las nuevas titulaciones (Grados) y sobre todo el afán de mejorar, nos empujan a innovar y a poner en práctica nuevas metodologías en la enseñanza y aprendizaje de las asignaturas de Matemáticas y Estadística asignadas a nuestro departamento. Estos métodos renuevan totalmente el rol del profesor y la enseñanza tradicional, introduciendo herramientas multimedia, plataformas de apoyo y nuevos recursos que proporcionan al estudiante una autonomía de la que antes no disponía, modificando la organización del tiempo y del espacio, ampliando las modalidades y estrategias de enseñanza-aprendizaje-tutorización y por tanto desarrollando modelos más flexibles. Se pretende facilitar el aprendizaje de estas asignaturas, proporcionando un modelo b-learnig, un complemento o alternativa a las clases presénciales, reforzando el autoaprendizaje activo del alumno., The experience which we count with in the university education, the development of the ICT (Information and Communications Technology), the integration in the ESSE the new qualifications (or Grades) and mainly the desire to improve push us to innovate and to put into practice new methodologies in the teaching and learning of the subjects of Mathematics and Statistic assigned to our department. These methods totally renovate the lecturer’s roll and the traditional teaching, introducing multimedia tools, support platforms and new resources that provide students an autonomy which before they did not have, modifying the organization of time and space, increasing modalities and strategies of teaching-learning-tutorization and therefore developing more flexible models. Les catequines i els seus polímers, les procianidines, són flavonoids presents en hortalissesi fruits amb efectes beneficiosos sobre la salut. Actuen com a antioxidants segrestantespècies reactives d'oxigen (ROS) i quelant els metalls ferro i coure. També es comportencom a molècules senyalitzadores, modulant múltiples vies de senyalització i metabòliques il'expressió gènica, incloent-hi la d'enzims antioxidants. Resultats previs del Grup de Recercaen Nutrigenòmica mostren que una dosi oral aguda d'un extracte de procianidines de llavorde raïm (GSPE) reprimeix l'expressió de les metal·lotioneïnes (MT), proteïnes lligadores dezinc, a fetge de rates, i tanmateix incrementa l'expressió del receptor nuclear orfe smallheterodimer partner.(SHP/Nr0b2) (Del Bas et al., 2005). Igualment, es va demonstrar que lesprocianidines actuen com a coactivadors transcripcionals del receptor nuclear d'àcids biliarsFarnesoid X Receptor (FXR), el qual es responsable de la sobre-expressió de SHP causadaper GSPE a cèl·lules hepàtiques, i de l'efecte hipotrigliceridèmic de les prociandines effect(Del Bas et al., 2008; Del Bas et al., 2009).Els objectius d'aquesta Tesi van ser determinar si les catequines i procianidinesinteraccionen amb el zinc, avaluar el seu efecte sobre l'homeòstasi del zinc en cèl·luleshepàtiques -incloent l'efecte sobre l'expressió de genes MT, utilitzats aquí com abiomarcadors de l'activitat de les procianidines a cèl·lules hepàtiques-, i disseccionar elsmecanismes pels quals les procianidines afecten l'homeòstasi del zinc, en particularconfirmar si els gens MT són dianes de SHP i FXR.Els resultats obtinguts mostren que GSPE, així com diverses catequines i procianidinespures, incloent-hi el flavonoid del te verd (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), lliguencations de zinc en solució amb una afinitat més gran que el quelant específic de zincZinquin. Per tant, els gens MT són diana de FXRi, conseqüentment, FXR apareix com un receptor nuclear que modula l'homeòstasi del zinc.Per explicar aquests resultats, proposem que catequines i procianidines poden actuar tantcom a segrestadors de zinc -evitant la seva entrada a la cèl·lula a través dels transportadorsde zinc de membrana plasmàtica-, com d'ionòfors de zinc -cotransportant cations zinc através de la bicapa lipídica i incrementant així els nivells de zinc làbil citoplasmàtic. Larepressió de gens MT induïda per l'activació de FXR per GSPE podria també contribuir al'increment de zinc làbil, en impedir que els cations zinc siguin segrestats per apo-tioneïnasintetitzada de novo.Donat el paper del zinc làbil com a modulador de múltiples víes de senyalització imetabòlics, formulem la hipòtesi que la quelació extracel·lular de cations de zinc i l'elevacióde zinc làbil citoplasmàtic són mecanismes subjacents a l'activitat biològica de catequines iprocianidines i, per tant, que les vies metabòliques i de senyalització afectades pel zinc làbil,ho seràn també per aquests flavonoids.Effects of dietary catechins and proanthocyanidins on zinc homeostasis inhepatic cells.Catechins and their polymers procyanidins are health-promoting flavonoids found in ediblevegetables and fruits. They act as antioxidants by scavenging reactive oxygen species andby chelating the redox-active metals iron and copper. They also behave as signalingmolecules, modulating multiple cell signaling and metabolic pathways and gene expression,including that of antioxidant enzymes. Previous results of the Nutrigenomics Reseach Groupshowed that an oral acute dose of a grape-seed procyanidin extract (GSPE) represses theexpression of the zinc-binding protein metallothionein (MT) genes in rat liver, and enhancesthe expression of the orfan nuclear receptor small heterodimer partner (SHP/Nr0b2) (Del Baset al., 2005). In addition, it was shown that procyanidins act as transcriptional coactivators ofthe nuclear bile acid receptor Farnesoid X Receptor (FXR), which in turns upregulates SHPexpression, thereby exerting an hypotrygliceridemic effect (Del Bas et al., 2008; Del Bas etal., 2009).The objectives of this Ph.D. Thesis were to determine whether catechins and procyanidinsinteract with the redox-inactive metal zinc, to evaluate their effect on zinc homeostasis inhepatic cells -including the expression of MT genes, used here as a biomarkers ofprocyanidin activity in hepatic cells-, and to disect the mechanisms by which procyanidinsaffect cellular zinc homeostasis, in particular to asses whether MT genes are targets of SHPand FXR.Our results show that GSPE, as well as individual catechins and procyanidins tested,including the green tea flavonoid (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), bind zinc cations insolution with higher affinity than the zinc-specific chelator Zinquin. In humanhepatocarcinoma HepG2 cells, GSPE inhibits intracellular zinc accumulation and counteractsthe toxic effects of excess zinc on cell viability. At the mRNA expression level, GSPEdownregulates MTs and zinc-efflux transporters while upregulating zinc-influx transporters.Zinc importers of the Trans-Golgi network are upregulated by GSPE. In addition, GSPEblocks the induction of MTs expression by the proinflammatory cytokine IL-6, the ROSgenerator tBOOH, the glucocorticoid receptor agonist dexamethasone, and the metalscopper and zinc.EGCG reproduces the major effects of GSPE on zinc homeostasis in HepG2, downregulingthe expression of MTs and zinc-efflux transporters, while upregulating the expression of zincinfluxtransporters, concomitantly inhibiting intracellular zinc accumulation and the toxicity of high zinc doses. Procyanidin dimer B1 and trimer C1 behave opposite to GSPE and EGCGwith regard to MT expression and intracellular zinc accumulation in HepG2 cells.Concerning cytoplasmic labile zinc, the tiny fraction of total cellular zinc that modulatessignaling and metabolic pathways, we found that GSPE, EGCG and trimeric procyanidin C1greatly elevate Zinquin-detectable labile zinc in HepG2 cells.Experiments with SHP-null and FXR-null mice demonstrate that GSPE downregulatespostprandial expression of MT genes in the liver, in a SHP-independent but FXR-dependentmanner. In addition, chenodeoxycholic acid, a physiological ligand and activator of FXR,represses the expression of MT genes in HepG2 cells. Thus, MT genes are targets of FXRand, consequently, FXR is revealed as a modulator of zinc homeostasis.To explain these results, we postulate that catechins and procyanidis may act both assequestrants of zinc -thereby impeding the entrance of zinc cations to the cell throughplasma membrane zinc transporters-, and as zinc ionophores -thereby cotransporting zinccations through the lipid bilayer and increasing the levels of cytoplasmic labile zinc.Repression of MT expression by procyanidin-activated FXR might also contribute to theincrement of the labile pool of zinc, by hindering the sequestration of zinc-cations by de novosynthesized apo-thionein.Given the role of labile zinc as modulator of multiple intracellular signaling and metabolicpathways, we forward the hypothesis that extracellular complexation of zinc cations andsubsequent elevation of cytoplasmic labile zinc may be relevant mechanisms underlying thehealth-promoting activity of catechins and procyanidins and, therefore, that the signaling andmetabolic pathways modulated by labile zinc will be aslo a target of these flavonoids.

The human Factor VIII ( F8 ) protein is essential for the blood coagulation cascade and specific F8 mutations cause the rare bleeding disorder Hemophilia A (HA). Here, we investigated the impact of HA-causing single-nucleotide mutations on F8 pre-mRNA splicing. We found that 14/97 (∼14.4%) coding sequence mutations tested in our study induced exon skipping. Splicing patterns of 4/11 (∼36.4%) F8 exons tested were especially sensitive to the presence of common disease-causing mutations. RNA-chemical probing analyses revealed a three-way junction structure at the 3' end of intron 15 (TWJ-3-15). TWJ-3-15 sequesters the polypyrimidine tract, a key determinant of 3' splice site strength. Using exon-16 of the F8 gene as a model, we designed specific antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) that target TWJ-3-15 and identified three that promote the splicing of F8 exon-16. Interaction of TWJ-3-15 with ASOs increases accessibility of the polypyrimidine tract and inhibits the binding of hnRNPA1-dependent splicing silencing factors. Moreover, ASOs targeting TWJ-3-15 rescue diverse splicing-sensitive HA-causing mutations, most of which are distal to the 3' splice site being impacted. The TWJ-3-15 structure and its effect on mRNA splicing provide a model for HA etiology in patients harboring specific F8 mutations and provide a framework for precision RNA-based HA therapies.
