Introduction: Whole-body autopsies may be crucial to understand coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pathophysiology. We aimed to analyze pathological findings in a large series of full-body autopsies, with a special focus on superinfections., Methods: This was a prospective multicenter study that included 70 COVID-19 autopsies performed between April 2020 and February 2021. Epidemiological, clinical and pathological information was collected using a standardized case report form., Results: Median (IQR) age was 70 (range 63.75-74.25) years and 76% of cases were males. Most patients (90%,) had at least one comorbidity prior to COVID-19 diagnosis, with vascular risk factors being the most frequent. Infectious complications were developed by 65.71% of the patients during their follow-up. Mechanical ventilation was required in most patients (75.71%) and was mainly invasive. In multivariate analyses, length of hospital stay and invasive mechanical ventilation were significantly associated with infections ( p  = 0.036 and p  = 0.013, respectively). We present the case of a 17-year-old male patient with Hodgkin's lymphoma (nodular sclerosis) in the mediastinum. During the postoperative period treatment with erythromycin was started and the patient developed progressive jaundice and cholestasis. Treatment modified for the lymphoma was initiated, which achieved complete remission and subsequent improvement and resolution of the cholestasis. Histological study of the liver revealed massive loss of bile ducts. After resolution of the cholestasis, consecutive biopsies revealed ductal proliferation. The present report therefore illustrates a case of ductopenia or vanishing bile duct syndrome (VBDS) with ad integrum regeneration of the bile ducts simultaneous with lymphoma remission. Because the 2 possible causes, erythromycin toxicity and Hodgkin's lymphoma, occurred simultaneously, the etiology of the VBDS cannot be definitively established.

Secondary (AA) amyloidosis is a rare but serious complication of longstanding inflammatory bowel disease that can affect the patient's prognosis more than the underlying disease. Although early diagnosis of this complication is becoming more frequent, its effective treatment continues to pose a challenge to the clinician. We present two cases of Crohn's disease complicated by secondary amyloidosis after two years, and describe their outcome.

Objectives: Clinical and pathological study of eight cases of localized amyloidosis of the seminal vesicles. Review of the literature., Methods: Immunohistochemical and histochemical study in surgical specimens., Results: Two of the eight cases studied for amyloidosis in seminal vesicles, were obtained from radical prostatectomy specimens; patients had prior androgen deprivation therapy for two months. Four cases were obtained from radical cistoprostatectomy specimens because of urothelial carcinoma and the last two cases were diagnosed by transrectal prostatic needle biopsy which including a portion of seminal vesicle. Amyloidosis of seminal the vesicle is permanganate-sensitive; A-Amyloid, laminin, amyloid P protein and collagen IV negative., Conclusion: Localized amyloidosis ot the seminal vesicle is not an unusual finding. The incidence increases with age. The histochemical and immunohistochemical features are different from other amyloid deposits.
