Soil stabilization is a technique for improving the property of soil by combining it with other materials. It involves enhancing the shear strength parameters of soil to increase its bearing capacity. Soil stabilization aims to reduce the permeability and compressibility of the soil mass in earth structures. Typically, soil stabilization involves altering the physical, chemical, and mechanical property of the soil to meet engineering requirements. This can be achieved through either in-situ stabilization or ex-situ stabilization methods. In the current investigation, the aim is to enhance the strength property of cohesive soil by partially replacing it with Bagasse ash, an agro waste. The scarcity of clean water due to heavy metal and microbial contamination is a global issue. In many parts of the world, heavy metals such as Pb, Cd, and U, along with bacteria like Escherichia coli, have been found to exceed permissible limits in groundwater and other water sources that the public depends on for daily drinking water. To address this, we have synthesized a novel composite material consisting of Ag-impregnated hydroxyapatite-coated activated carbon nanoparticles embedded in alginate beads, for the simultaneous removal of heavy metals (U, Pb, and Cd) and Escherichia coli from drinking water. The material's efficiency was evaluated through a series of batch and column experiments. Batch studies indicate 90 % sequestration of U within 5 hours and Pb and Cd within 7 hours, while Escherichia coli (107 cfu/mL) was eradicated instantly. The study confirms that sorption follows pseudo-second-order kinetics via chemisorption and ion-exchange mechanisms. Fixed-bed column studies, using a logistic growth model, showed strong agreement between theoretical and experimental parameters for the Bohart-Adams, Thomas, and Yoon-Nelson models. The beads demonstrated a high affinity for heavy metals, achieving complete removal and disinfection within an empty bed contact time of 1.12 minutes. Reusability studies indicate that even after the third regeneration and reuse cycle, removal efficiency remained about 95 % for U and Pb, and 85 % for Cd. Furthermore, the effects of variations in water quality parameters such as pH, dissolved carbonates, humic acid, and ionic strength (except for Cd) on removal efficiency were minimal. In summary, the study revealed that the Ag-impregnated hydroxyapatite-coated activated carbon nanoparticles embedded in alginate beads are an efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective material for the simultaneous removal of Pb, Cd, U, and Escherichia coli from water with diverse physicochemical properties.

In this paper, we report on the synthesis of strontium oxide nanoparticles (SONPs) using a novel probe sonication method. Powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) was used to characterize the physicochemical properties of the prepared materials, which confirmed that the average SrO crystallite size was 43 nm. The Kubelka-Monk function of diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) was used to confirm the average energy gap of SONPs (4.06 eV). SONPs have been successfully used in conjunction with inventive photocatalysts to remove dyes such as Methylene Blue (MB) and Acid Green (AG). MBand AG dyes were used as standard dyes to investigate the photocatalytic properties of NPs when exposed to UV light and sunlight. These nanometal oxides photodegrade methylene blue (87.70%) and acid green (71.20%) dyes with remarkable efficiency when exposed to UV light. These nanometal oxides demonstrated superior sensitivity when paracetamol was used as an analyte in cyclic voltammetry tests at various scan speeds (10 mV/s to 50 mV/s). The current work applied the spray pyrolysis (SP) approach to coat mixed-phase SnS thin films at 350 °C, and then air annealed at 400,450,500 °C for use in sensor and solar cells applications. A variety of methods were employed to evaluate the structural, morphological, compositional, optical, and electrical characteristics of synthesised mixed-phase films. Films annealed at 500 °C are reported to have bigger crystal sizes, and all deposited SnS films exhibit the orthorhombic phase in addition to tetragonal phase of SnO2, with other visible secondary phases like SnS2,Sn2S3. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and Raman analyses verified the molecular structure and vibrational mode of SnS films. The Scanning electron microscopy tests reveal a consistent, size-varying two-dimensional flake like grain structure, while the optical studies show a variation in optical direct band-gap from 1.79 to 2.75eV. The Hall-effect shows that films subsequently annealed at 400 °C have improved electrical properties. An efficient metal oxide semiconductor gas sensor was developed by applying mixed-SnS film on the conducting side of an indium tin oxide coated glass plate. To examine the sensor selectivity at room temperature, a variety of test gases, such as NO2, H2S, C2H5OH, NH3, were purged at different concentrations. The optimum working temperature and concentration for NH3 selective gas have been determined to be 350 °C and 5 ppm. The sensor sensitivity is found to be maximum at operating temperature of 200 °C towards NH3 gas. An inexpensive, fabricated MOS-gas sensor based on mixed-phase SnS can be easily mass produced and may find potential applications in industrial and environmental monitoring.

Abstract In wireless networking, the security of flying ad hoc networks (FANETs) is a major issue, and the use of drones is growing every day. A distributed network is created by a drone network in which nodes can enter and exit the network at any time. Because malicious nodes generate bogus identifiers, FANET is unstable. In this research study, we proposed a threat detection method for detecting malicious nodes in the network. The proposed method is found to be most effective compared to other methods. Malicious nodes fill the network with false information, thereby reducing network performance. The secure ad hoc on-demand distance vector (AODV) that has been suggested algorithm is used for detecting and isolating a malicious node in FANET. In addition, because temporary flying nodes are vulnerable to attacks, trust models based on direct or indirect reliability similar to trusted neighbors have been incorporated to overcome the vulnerability of malicious/selfish harassment. A node belonging to the malicious node class is disconnected from the network and is not used to forward or forward another message. The FANET security performance is measured by throughput, packet loss and routing overhead with the conventional algorithms of AODV (TAODV) and reliable AODV secure AODV power consumption decreased by 16.5%, efficiency increased by 7.4%, and packet delivery rate decreased by 9.1% when compared to the second ranking method. Reduced packet losses and routing expenses by 9.4%. In general, the results demonstrate that, in terms of energy consumption, throughput, delivered packet rate, the number of lost packets, and routing overhead, the proposed secure AODV algorithm performs better than the most recent, cutting-edge algorithms.
