Introduction. In the contemporary world, alternative electrical energy has become an integral part of our daily existence, with the majority of our electrical materials, electronic devices, and industrial equipment relying on this energy source. Consequently, ensuring the quality of the electrical signal obtained is of paramount importance in the process of converting and distributing electrical energy. The improvement of the output voltage inverter can be achieved through adjustments to the inverter structure or by refining the control strategy. The novelty of the presented research lies in an innovative approach that employs real-time modulation for efficient control over the reduction of harmonics, alongside managing the fundamental component. This approach is applicable to both bipolar and unipolar configurations, featuring quarter-wave and half-wave symmetries. Purpose. Employing this modulation strategy aims to enhance the durability of the switching components and enhance the voltage output of the inverter. Methods. The methodology is founded on a sine-sine modulation as its foundational model. It constitutes an inventive pulse width modulation technique in which a reference sinusoidal waveform, operating at the desired signal frequency, is compared to a modified carrier signal with an identical time period as the reference signal. Results. This paper introduces a broader and more comprehensive approach, alongside specific solutions, for the control and mitigation of harmonics in three phase voltage source inverters. The proposed method offers precise control over the reduction of harmonics and the fundamental component, and it can be implemented in extensive power electronic converters. Practical value. To assess the effectiveness of the given control approach, we conducted simulations as well as real-time implementation employing Dspace DS1104 controller board. The outcomes were highly favorable, confirming the effectiveness and validity of the suggested control algorithm. References 15, tables 4, figures 7.

Introduction. Currently, in the solar energy systems and a variety of electrical applications, the power converters are essential part. The main challenge for similar systems is controller design. In the literature, the PID controller has proved its effectiveness in many industrial applications, but determining its parameters remains one of the challenges in control theory field. The novelty of the work resides in the design and experimental implementation of a two-level boost DC-DC converter controlled by a PID controller for photovoltaic (PV) maximum power extraction. Purpose. Analysis and control of the two-level boost topology with renewable energy source and design of the PID controller parameters using simple and accurate method. Methods. PID coefficients are optimized using Coefficient Diagram Method (CDM) in the MATLAB environment. Results. A mathematical model of a two-level boost converter with PID controller and PV energy source was developed and analyzed. The model allows to design the controller parameters of the proposed system. Practical value. A prototype steered by the proposed CDM-PID controller was tested using an Arduino embedded board. A comparison between the simulation results and the experimental one is presented. The obtained results illustrate that the experimental results match the simulation closely, and the proposed CDM-PID controller provides a fast and precise results.

Introduction. Through-silicon-via (TSV) is one of the most important components of 3D integrated circuits. Similar to two-dimensional circuits, the performance evaluation of 3D circuits depends on both the quality factor and inductance. Therefore, accurate TSV-inductor modeling is required for the design and analysis of 3D integrated circuits. Aim. This work proposes the equivalent circuit model of the TSV-inductor to derive the relations that determine both the quality factor and the inductance by Y-parameters. Methods. The model developed was simulated using MATLAB software, and it was used to evaluate the effect of redistribution lines width, TSV radius, and the number of turns on inductance and quality factor. Additionally, a comparative study was presented between TSV-based inductors and conventional inductors (i.e., spiral and racetrack inductors). Results. These studies show that replacing conventional inductors with TSV-inductors improved the quality factor by 64 % compared to a spiral inductor and 60 % compared to a racetrack inductor. Furthermore, the area of the TSV-inductor was reduced up to 1.2 mm². Using a PSIM simulator, the application of an integrated TSV-inductor in a buck converter was studied, and the simulation gave very good results in 3D integration compared to 2D integration. Moreover, the simulation results demonstrated that using a TSV-inductor in a buck converter could increase its efficiency by up to 15 % and 6 % compared to spiral and racetrack inductors, respectively.

Abstract. This paper investigates the use of fractional order Proportional, Integral and Derivative (FOPID) controllers for the frequency and power regulation in a microgrid power system. The proposed microgrid system composes of renewable energy resources such as solar and wind generators, diesel engine generators as a secondary source to support the principle generators, and along with different energy storage devices like fuel cell, battery and flywheel. Due to the intermittent nature of integrated renewable energy like wind turbine and photovoltaic generators, which depend on the weather conditions and climate change this affects the microgrid stability by considered fluctuation in frequency and power deviations which can be improved using the selected controller. The fractional-order controller has five parameters in comparison with the classical PID controller, and that makes it more flexible and robust against the microgrid perturbation. The Fractional Order PID controller parameters are optimized using a new optimization technique called Krill Herd which selected as a suitable optimization method in comparison with other techniques like Particle Swarm Optimization. The results show better performance of this system using the fractional order PID controller-based Krill Herd algorithm by eliminates the fluctuations in frequency and power deviation in comparison with the classical PID controller. The obtained results are compared with the fractional order PID controller optimized using Particle Swarm Optimization. The proposed system is simulated under nominal conditions and using the disconnecting of storage devices like battery and Flywheel system in order to test the robustness of the proposed methods and the obtained results are compared.

This paper deals with the synthesis of a speed control strategy for a six-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive based on backstepping controller (BC). The Backstepping control is a systematic and recursive design methodology for nonlinear feedback control. The results demonstrate that backstepping controller has the advantage of rapid response, no overshoot and stability compared with PI controller.

This paper presents a fuzzy-logic-based vector control for a five-phase permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The high-performance of the proposed fuzzy logic control (FLC)-based PMSM drive are investigated and compared with the conventional proportional-integral (PI) controller at different conditions, such as step change in command speed and load, and robustness against machine parameter variations. Finally, Simulation results shows that FLC presents better performances and high robustness compared to the conventional PI controller.

Cet article consiste à étudier la commande des onduleurs multi-niveaux asymétrique appliquée à la conduite d’une machine asynchrone triphasée. On a étudié ce type d’onduleurs parce qu’il est susceptible de générer des tensions quasi sinusoïdale ayant un nombre de niveau impair largement qui peuvent atteindre entre 2K+1 et 3K niveaux (K: cellules à pont complet). L’utilisation de la structure multi-niveaux cascade afin d’améliorer beaucoup plus la qualité de tension de sortie sans augmenter à priori le nombre de cellules d’onduleurs à pont complet ainsi que cette structure est un intérêt certain car elle contient un nombre réduit d’interrupteurs en comparaison avec les autres. Pour l’entraînement à la vitesse variable pour cette machine, la commande vectorielle avec des correcteurs classiques est appliquée ensuite. Les résultats de simulation confirment la validité et l’efficacité de ce type d’onduleur.

Les onduleurs multi niveaux asymétriques triphasés, étudiés sont constitués de la mise en série d’onduleurs partiels par phase. La commande de ces derniers par la stratégie de l’élimination des ’harmoniques fait appel à la résolution des systèmes d’équations non linéaires pour obtenir les angles d’amorçage des composants électroniques, et l’implémentation pratique de cette stratégie nécessite une très grande capacité mémoire. Dans cet article, nous proposons une approche mathématique exigeant moins de calculs et d’implémentation facile est souhaitée. Cette approche est réalisée par les réseaux de neurones artificiels (RNA). Ces onduleurs sont utilisés pour l’entraînement de la machine asynchrone double étoile (MASDE). Les résultats de simulations obtenus ont montré un comportement très satisfaisant de la machine.

This paper presents independent vector control of six-phase two-motor drive machine series-connected fed by a three-level six-phase inverter. Via appropriate phase transposition during the series connection of the stator windings, the fully decoupled control of the two machines is possible. The control system multi machines classic based on vector control with conventional inverters comprise various problems are related to low power quality, pressure on motor bearing, etc. However, decoupling control of a series- six-phase two-motor drive machine by a three-level six-phase inverter is developed. A simulations results clearly shows the possibility of independent vector control of the two machines, although a single three-level six-phase inverter is used as the supply.

Currently, the permanent magnet generators find wide application in the renewable energies field such as the conversion of the wind energy or the tidal energy to an electrical energy. The main objective of this work is the calculation of the magnetic field created by the permanent magnets of the both selected rotor types (magnets on surface and inset type magnets) by taking into account the rotation of the rotor, and therefore the calculation of the electric field induced in the stator, which allows us to calculate the electromotive force exerted on the conductors of the stator coils in order to know the induced voltage by each generator, then, we make a comparison between them to determine the type of generator most answered in the industry. To reach our goal we use the finite elements method to solve the partial derivative equations those describe this physics problem.

Dans ce contexte, le travail présenté porte sur l’étude, la modélisation d’une machine hexaphasée alimentée par un onduleur héxaphasé. Cette machine asynchrone hexaphasée (MASHP) n’est pas un système simple, car de nombreux phénomènes compliqués interviennent dans son fonctionnement, comme la saturation, l’effet de peau, etc..., [1]. L’objectif de ce travail est de présenter le modèle général de la MASHP dans le repère réel (abc). Ensuite, nous présenterons les différentes étapes permettant d’aboutir au modèle diphasé de la MASHP, obtenu à partir d’une matrice de transformation appropriée [2]. Afin de simplifier l’étude, la simulation numérique de la MASHP, le système de dimension six sera décomposé en trois sous-systèmes découplés. Après l’alimentation de la MASHP par un onduleur de tension héxaphasé sera présentée. Dans ce qui suit, nous allons étudier l’influence du changement de l’angle de déphasage sur le comportement de la MASHP et nous avons montré que les meilleures performances sont obtenues pour la configuration =30°.

This article presents the powers control of a variable speed wind turbine based on a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) because of their advantages in terms of economy and control. The considered system consists of a DFIG whose stator is connected directly to the electrical network and its rotor is supplied by a 19-level inverter with less number of switches for minimize the harmonics absorbed by the DFIG, reducing switching frequency, high power electronic applications because of their ability to generate a very good quality of waveforms, and their low voltage stress across the power devices. In order to control independently active and reactive powers provided by the stator side of the DFIG to the grid and ensure high performance and a better execution, three types of robust controllers have been studied and compared in terms of power reference tracking, response to sudden speed variations, sensitivity to perturbations and robustness against machine parameters variations.

Afin de pouvoir améliorer le rendement délivré à la charge, autrement dit la qualité de la tension de sortie des moyennes qui ont été utilisées parmi ces derniers: l'utilisation d'un onduleur multi-niveau au lieu de l'onduleur à deux niveaux, une seconde solution basée sur le choix de commande d'un moteur. Dans notre article, on a choisi la technique de commande par mode glissant d'ordre supérieure, cette commande conserve les mêmes performances de robustesse et de stabilité données par le mode glissant classique tout en réduisant le broutement.

Ce travail a été réalisé chez SAAB Bofors Dynamics. Le but était de dériver une conception de contrôle robuste pour un missile non linéaire en utilisant le recul. Une question particulièrement intéressante était de voir comment les différents choix de conception affectent la robustesse. Backstepping est une méthode de conception relativement nouvelle pour les systèmes non linéaires qui conduit à stabiliser globalement les lois de contrôle. En prenant des décisions judicieuses dans la conception, la boucle fermée qui en résulte peut recevoir une robustesse significative. Le procédé permet également de bénéficier de forces et de moments aérodynamiques naturellement stabilisateurs. Il est basé sur la théorie de Lyapunov et les lois de contrôle et une fonction de Lyapunov sont dérivées simultanément. Cette fonction de Lyapunov est utilisée pour garantir la stabilité. Dans ce papier, les lois de contrôle du missile sont d'abord dérivées en recourant au recul. La dynamique des missiles est décrite avec des coefficients aérodynamiques avec des incertitudes correspondantes. La robustesse du design w.r.t. les incertitudes aérodynamiques sont ensuite étudiées plus en détail. Les lois de contrôle conçues sont évaluées par des simulations qui donnent des résultats satisfaisants. Nous proposons également dans ce travail une technique de synthèse pour un gain non linéaire d'observateur élevé pour le missile. Une démonstration de convergence est donnée en utilisant la théorie de Lyaponov.

Le moteur asynchrone est apprécié dans le domaine industriel en raison de ses avantages de simplicité de construction, de robustesse et de faible coût d'achat et d'entretien. En revanche, il présente des difficultés inhérentes lors de leurs exploitations d’où la loi de commande classique ne répond pas aux exigences demandées telle que la robustesse. Dans ce contexte, l’application de la commande par mode de glissement nous a offert une robustesse par rapport aux variations paramétriques du moteur, malheureusement cette stratégie de commande a présenté un inconvénient majeur du au phénomène de broutement, Pour remédier à ce problème nous avons combiné la commande par mode glissant et la commande à base de la logique floue pour rallier les avantages des deux stratégies. Les résultats obtenus par la combinaison de deux stratégies mode glissant et la logique floue, ont fourni des performances meilleurs vis-à-vis aux variations des paramètres et une élimination du phénomène de broutement.

La commande par orientation des flux réalisée par un régulateur proportionnel intégral (PI) de la Génératrice Asynchrone Double Etoile (GASDE) présente plusieurs inconvénients, tels que la complication des paramètres de contrôle, des performances dynamiques médiocres et une robustesse réduite. Par conséquent, sur la base d'un modèle d-q de la GASDE associé à deux convertisseurs AC-DC, on propose un schéma de commande avancé basé sur le mode glissant d'ordre supérieur. La commande par mode glissant classique a un grand effet de chattering sur la tension continue à la sortie des deux redresseurs. Dans le but de résoudre ce problème, le contrôle par mode glissant supérieur est utilisé. Les résultats de simulation montrent l'avantage de la méthode proposée sur l'efficacité et la robustesse face à la variation paramétriques de la GASDE.

L’objectif de cet article est la contribution à l’amélioration des méthodes et différentes lois de commande permettant un fonctionnement optimal dans la chaîne de conversion mécanique de l’éolienne. De manière à maximiser en permanence la puissance produite, en recherchant le point de fonctionnement à puissance maximale communément appelé (Maximum Power Point Tracking) MPPT. Il a pour finalité la mise en place d’une modélisation et simulation numérique portée sur la turbine éolienne en matière de commande en vitesse. Une commande comparative entre trois contrôleurs, telle que PI classique, commande par mode glissant d’ordre 1, 'CMG 1' et commande par mode glissant d’ordre 2, 'CMG 2' est présentée.

Ce travail est consacré à la conception de connexion et la modélisation de système multi machines connectées en série, 'SMMCS'. Le premier objectif de ce travail est de présenter une analyse des différents cas possibles de mise en série des machines polyphasées à nombre de phases q. Le second objectif est de présenter la modélisation d’un système multi machines, 'SMMCS' constitué de deux machines asynchrones à cage d’écureuil: une machine hexaphasée symétrique et une machine triphasée alimentée par un seul convertisseur statique.

Comme tout processus industriel, un système photovoltaïque peut être soumis, au cours de son fonctionnement, à différents défauts et anomalies conduisant à une baisse de la performance du système et voire à son indisponibilité. Permettre de diagnostiquer finement et de faire de la détection et de localisation de défauts dans une installation photovoltaïque réduit les coûts de maintenance et surtout augmente la productivité. Dans ce travail, nous nous intéressons spécifiquement à la détection et la classification de défauts d'un générateur photovoltaïque (GPV) en utilisant l'approche neuronale. Les performances de l'approche neuronale sont analysées sur la base d’une comparaison avec la méthode de seuillage.

This paper is devoted to the study of the performances of a robust speed nonlinear control of five-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM).The dynamic response speed and overshoot is contradictory and the system is weak in terms of anti-interference in classical PI speed regulator. In this work, the controllers are designed using two methods: the first one using a nonlinear control based on sliding mode control (SMC). In the second, the super twisting algorithm sliding mode speed control (STSMC) is used to overcome the occurring chattering phenomena. This second solution shows good robustness with respect to parameter variations, measurement errors and noises. Finally, simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness and the good performance of the proposed control methods.

We hear a lot in the media about the solar car, and that it would be the future car. We see also several examples of this kind in various parts of the world. In this work we would try to do a study which will respond to this question: whether is there currently a solar car, which will be an alternative to cars working with fossil fuel? To get an answer to this question we have to examine some manufactured models and analyze their various data, by studying each element of the vehicle. In second step and in order to confirm what we have concluded, we have to manufacture our car and conduct various tests.

This paper presents an experimental performance comparison between differential evolution (DE) algorithm and Newton Raphson (NR) method for solving the optimal switching problem for multilevel inverters with the objective of improving the output AC voltage quality. The methods are used to compute optimal switching angles to control a multilevel inverter in such way that allows the elimination of low order harmonics; this control technique is called selective harmonic elimination. The proposed inverter in this article is composed of two H-bridge cells with non-equal DC voltage sources in order to generate seven voltage levels. The differential evolution (DE) optimization and the Newton Raphson (NR) algorithm is used to solve non-linear transcendental equations necessary for the (SHPWM). Computational results obtained from computer simulations presented a good agreement with the theoretical predictions. A laboratory prototype based on STM32F407 microcontroller was built in order to validate the simulation results.

Direct torque control (DTC) of induction motor (IM) is important in many applications. In this paper presents a three-level direct torque control with 24 sectors is applied for IM using PI-flou controller and hysteresis regulators based in artificial intelligence techniques. The DTC system is known to offer fast decoupled control between torque and flux via a simple control structure. Nevertheless, DTC system has two major drawbacks, with are the variable inverter switching frequency and high torque output ripple. The validity of the proposed control scheme is verified by simulation tests. The stator flux, torque, and current are determined and compared to the above technique.

L’objectif de ce travail est d’apporter des contributions à une méthodologie intégrée pour l’identification et la commande des procédés industriels en temps réel. La première ambition de proposer une réalisation d’un outil d’identification et de commande numérique, puis faire appliquer la commande PI, PID, RS, RST, RSTM et floue sur un système de pompage d’eau et un moteur à courant continu. Nous avons proposé une méthode qui conduit rapidement au calcule d’un régulateur robuste pour un large nombre d’applications réelles en suivant les trois étapes fondamentales: acquisition des données E/S, identification du modèle, calcul du régulateur.

Solar Electric Vehicles (SEV) are considered the future vehicles to solve the issues of air pollution, global warming, and the rapid decreases of the petroleum resources facing the current transportation technology. However, SEV are still facing important technical obstacles to overcome. They include batteries energy storage capacity, charging times, efficiency of the solar panels and electrical propulsion systems. Solving any of those problems and electric vehicles will compete-complement the internal combustion engines vehicles. In the present work, we propose an electrical propulsion system based on three phase induction motor in order to obtain the desired speed and torque with less power loss. Because of the need to lightweight nature, small volume, low cost, less maintenance and high efficiency system, a three phase squirrel cage induction motor (IM) is selected in the electrical propulsion system. The IM is fed from three phase inverter operated by a constant V/F control method and Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) algorithm. The proposed control strategy has been implemented on the texas instruments TM320F2812 Digital Signal Processor (DSP) to generate SVPWM signal needed to trigger the gates of IGBT based inverter. The inverter used in this work is a three phase inverter IRAMY20UP60B type. The experimental results show the ability of the proposed control strategy to generate a three-phase sine wave signal with desired frequency. The proposed control strategy is experimented on a locally manufactured EV prototype. The results show that the EV prototype can be propelled to speed up to 60km/h under different road conditions.

Dans ce contexte, le travail présenté porte sur la commande d’un système d’entraînement multi machines mono convertisseur (S3MC). La commande découplée du système d’entraînement multi machines mono convertisseur (S3MC), est possible suivant le modèle mathématique. Ce modèle montre que la commande indépendante de deux machines hexaphasées connectée en série avec triphasé est possible, grâce au contrôle des courants statoriques à la sortie de l’onduleur de tension. Parmi les techniques de commande basées sur le contrôle du courant, en trouve la commande vectorielle qui est largement développée et testée sur des processus industriels de différentes puissances. Ainsi, la commande que nous avons choisie et appliquée au S3MC est basée sur le principe de la commande vectorielle développée pour les machines à courant alternatif.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the genetic relationships of 28 chickpea accessions from diverse origin using AFLP markers. On average, 13 polymorphic bands per primer were observed in AFLP analysis. The average polymorphic information content (PIC) was 0.71, ranging from 0.48 to 0.92. The lowest and the highest PIC value were recorded for primer P-GAG/M-GC and P-AT/M-GC, respectively. The average GD, based on Fst values among the 21 accessions was 0.42, ranging from 0.61 to 0.16. From the UPGMA dendrogram, it is discernible that material taken for the analysis can be divided in four clusters. The results indicate that the greatest genetic diversity occurs in Afghanistan, Iran and Lebanon. In many cases, the diversity between individuals of an accession is as great as between individuals of different accessions. Based on DNA markers it is concluded that there are three centers of diversity for chickpea: Pakistan-Afghanistan, Iran-Turkey and Syria-Lebanon. India and Ethiopia, which were previously considered as a secondary center of diversity for chickpea, showed lower diversity than the above regions.

This paper presents an approach that allows optimizing gear ratio and vehicle dimension to achieve optimum gear transmission. Therefore, augmented Lagrangian multiplier method, defined as classical method, is utilized to find the optimum gear ratios and the corresponding number of gear teeth applied to all epicyclical gears. The new method is able to calculate and also to optimize the gear ratio based on dynamics of 4WD vehicles. Therefore, 4WD vehicles dynamic equations are employed assuming that the rear wheels or the front wheels are at the point of slip. In addition, a genetic algorithm is modified to preserve feasibility of the encountered solutions. The basic dimension of a sample commercial vehicle (2009 hummer H3 4dr AWD SUV) and its gearbox are optimized, and then the effects of changing slip angle, wheel base, and engine torque on optimum vehicle dimension are analyzed.
