In this article, we report for the first time the application of a novel and extremely valuable methodology called the Rach–Adomian–Meyers decomposition method (MDM) to obtain numerical solutions to the rotational pendulum equation. MDM is a tool for solving nonlinear differential equations that combines both series solution and the Adomian decomposition method efficiently. We present a simple and highly accurate MDM-based algorithm and its numerical implementation via a one-step recurrence approach for obtaining periodic solutions to the rotational pendulum equation. Finally, numerical simulations are performed to demonstrate the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed technique for both large and small amplitudes of oscillation.

In this paper, the flow of hydromagnetic non-Newtonian fluid under couple stresses through a porous channel is investigated using the Eyring-Powell model. The fluid is driven by an axial constant pressure gradient. Approximate solutions of the nonlinear dimensionless equations governing the fluid flow are obtained using a new modification of Adomian decomposition method (ADM). The effects of the variation of various flow parameters on both the velocity and temperature fields are deduced and discussed including surface-fluid interface friction and rate of heat transfer.

In this paper, we present a reliable algorithm to calculate positive solutions of homogeneous nonlinear boundary value problems (BVPs). The algorithm converts the nonlinear BVP to an equivalent nonlinear Fredholm– Volterra integral equation.We employ the multistage Adomian decomposition method for BVPs on two or more subintervals of the domain of validity, and then solve the matching equation for the flux at the interior point, or interior points, to determine the solution. Several numerical examples are used to highlight the effectiveness of the proposed scheme to interpolate the interior values of the solution between boundary points. Furthermore we demonstrate two novel techniques to accelerate the rate of convergence of our decomposition series solutions by increasing the number of subintervals and adjusting the lengths of subintervals in the multistage Adomian decomposition method for BVPs.

The modified decomposition method is applied to analyze the transverse vibrations of tapered rotating beams incorporating both axial centrifugal stiffening and flexible end constraints. Unlike prior analyses relying upon a power series expansion about the left end constraint, we instead expand the solution for the transverse deflection about the interval midpoint, which has significant advantages including an increased rate of convergence and readily adaptation to the Robin-type boundary conditions. The modified decomposition method facilitates systematic solution of the mathematical model including parametric simulations where the boundary conditions can be varied without resolving the original equation.
