Environmental issues near roads become more and more important in our society daily life. One of the most critical environmental issues is traffic noise. The present paper study louvred noise barrier designed by authors. The louvred noise barrier provides sound attenuation while allowing airflow and sunlight through it. Since the airflow resistance of the barrier is low, it requires a shallow foundation compared to conventional noise barriers. The sound attenuation performance of the louvred noise barrier was tested experimentally in a sound transmission chamber. Airflow resistance simulated using a computational fluid dynamics model. The simulation and experimental study were done with different louvred noise barrier setup: change of louvre blade angle and sound-absorbing material thickness. The results showed potential for future development for the field testing. Sound attenuation was highest in 2500 Hz and 3150 Hz octave frequency bands. Depending on the louvred barrier setup, sound attenuation was up to 28 dB(A) in mentioned frequency bands. The equivalent sound pressure level reduced up to 17 dB(A). The results showed that an increase in the louvre blade angle increases sound attenuation and increases airflow resistance.

Traffic calming is the combination of mainly physical measures that reduce the negative effects of motor vehicle use, alter driver behaviour and improve conditions for non-motorized street users. Vibration measurements were performed by the authors of this paper near the roads with traffic calming devices. The measurements were taken throughout two seasons: in the winter and in the summer in order to evaluate the influence of soil freezing on traffic-induced vibrations. The only car measured was Fiat Doblo (weight 1,405 kg), and its driving speed when passing a speed bump or a speed table was controlled (20 km/h; 30 km/h; 40 km/h). The results show that the Peak Particle Acceleration (PPA) values were higher in the winter season compared with the summer. The vehicles passing over the speed tables induce lower PPA values than those passing over the speed bumps.

According to the Directive 2009/28EC of European Parliament and Council, dated April 23, 2009, Lithuania should strive for the part of renewable energy sources in the balance of electric energy to reach no less than 23% in the year 2020. The most favorable condition for development of wind energy in Lithuania is on a 50 km width zone by the seaside. Parks of wind power plants are expanding fast, but there is a lack of data about noise generated by wind turbines. The noise generated by the wind power plants is known to fluctuate and may spread up to 2 km beyond the wind power park. Research of noise generated by wind power plants was performed in the western part of Lithuania, near Rudaiciai village (Kretinga district) at the park of four wind power plants. Measurements were performed in cold and warm seasons when different wind speed, environment humidity and air temperatures dominated. The sound pressure levels of noise generated by wind power plants were established. The noise spread in the wind parks and beyond was evaluated according to hygiene norm HN 33:2007 “Acoustic noise. Noise value limits in the residential and public buildings and their surroundings”. Sparčiai plečiantis vėjo jėgainių parkams trūksta duomenų apie vėjo jėgainių skleidžiamą triukšmą. Žinoma, kad triukšmas nuo vėjo jėgainių yra fliuktuojantis bei gali sklisti iki 2 km už vėjo jėgainių parko ribų. Vėjo jėgainių skleidžiamo triukšmo tyrimai buvo atliekami vakarų Lietuvoje, Rūdaičių k. (Kretingos r.) prieigose esančiame keturių vėjo jėgainių parke. Atlikti žiemos ir vasaros matavimai, vyraujant skirtingiems vėjo greičiams, aplin-kos oro drėgniui, oro temperatūrai. Nustatyti vėjo jėgainių parko skleidžiamo triukšmo, garso slėgio lygiai. Pagal higienos normą HN 33:2007 ,,Akustinis triukšmas. Triukšmo ribiniai dydžiai gyvenamuosiuose ir visuomeninės paskirties pastatuose bei jų aplinkoje“ įvertinta triukšmo sklaida vėjo jėgainių pake ir už jo ribų. Всвязи с интенсивным развитием парков ветряных установок данных о создаваемом ими шуме не достаточно.Известно, что шум от ветряных турбин флуктирует и может распространяться до 2 км за пределы парковветряных установок. Исследования четырех ветряных турбин и создаваемого ими шума проводились в парке ветряных установок наЗападе Литвы, в Рудайчяй (Кретингский район). Измерения проводились зимой и летом при разной скорости ветра, влажности и температуре воздуха. Установлены уровни распространяемого ветряными установками шумаи звукового давления. На основании гигиенической нормы HN 33:2007 «Акустический шум. Предельныевеличины шума для жилых зданий, зданий общественного назначения и их среды» установлено распространениешума в парке ветряных установок и за его пределами. Ground-borne vibrations induced by road transport is common source of environmental problem for residents living near roads where large flow of vehicles is. Any irregular unevenness of road surface increase the transport induced ground borne vibrations. The ground-borne vibrations travel through soil, different types of soil have different properties and transmission loss of vibrations is different. In this paper the spread of ground borne vibration is modelled using numerical modelling and represented using Surfer software. In this research is considered most common soil types in Lithuania: Peat, clay, sandy loam and loam. Calculated soil particle acceleration near vibration source was highest in Clay soil (34,3 mm/s2). The calculations show that in peat soil vibration travel further than in other soils. Santrauka Automobilių sukeliamos žemės vibracijos yra dažna aplinkosauginė problema, su kuria susiduria gyventojai, turintys būstus netoli kelių, kuriuose automobilių srautas yra didelis. Kiekvienas kelio važiuojamosios dalies paviršiaus nelygumas didina automobilių sukeliamas žemės vibracijas. Vibracija sklinda per dirvožemį, kiekvienas dirvožemio tipas turi skirtingas fizines savybes, o tai reiškia skirtingą vibracijos bangų pralaidumą. Šiame straipsnyje yra nagrinėjamas vibracijos sklidimas skirtinguose dirvožemiuose taikant skaitinį modeliavimą, o rezultatams atvaizduoti naudojama Surfer programinė įranga. Šiame straipsnyje tyrinėjami Lietuvoje dažnai pasitaikantys dirvožemio tipai: durpės, molis, priesmėlis ir priemolis. Skaičiavimai rodo, kad vibracija toliausiai sklinda durpėse, palyginti su kitais skaičiuotais dirvožemio tipais. Green products, clean energy, energy union, green buildings, eco-innovations, environment-related, and similar initiatives and policies have become very popular and widely applied all over the world. A pleasant built environment (parks, flowerbeds, beautiful buildings) and a repulsive environment (noise, polluted surroundings) influence a buyer’s outlook on an advertisement differently. An aesthetic, comfortable, and clean built environment evokes positive emotional states, not only at the time of housing selection and purchase but during the building’s life cycle as well. Potential housing buyers always feel comfortable in certain built environments, and they are inclined to spend more time there. The issues needing answers are how to measure the segmentation/physiological indicators (crowd composition by gender and age groups), as well as the emotional (happy, sad, angry, valence) and physiological (heart rate) states of potential homebuyers realistically, to produce an integrated evaluation of such data and offer buyers rational, green, and energy efficient housing alternatives. To achieve this purpose, the Multisensory, green and energy efficient housing neuromarketing method was developed to generate the necessary conditions. Here, around 200 million multisensory data recordings (emotional and physiological states) were accumulated, and the environmental air pollution (CO, NO2, PM10, volatile organic compounds) and noise pollution were investigated. Specific green and energy efficient building case studies appear in this article to demonstrate the developed method clearly. The obtained research results are in line with those from previous and current studies, which state that the interrelation of environmental responsiveness and age forms an inverse U and that an interest in green and energy efficient housing depends on age.

Speed table is an artificial road (street) surface irregularity, which is used to reduce speed of road traffic or maintain allowed speed limit in road (street) section. These measures are used to reduce risk for pedestrians by reducing speed of passing vehicles. Before speed table, vehicles usually reduce speed, after passing it, vehicles usually increase their speed and this could increase traffic noise. Measurements were carried out during the day time in L. Asanavičiūtės Street 5, Vilnius. Measurements were divided into two parts, inside the residential apartment building and in its environment. Near the speed table recorded sound level was 69 dB, inside the residential apartment building noise level was approximately 41 dB. In this paper speed table influence on traffic noise propagation in residential area is investigated. Santrauka Greičio mažinimo priemonė – dirbtinis kelio (gatvės) dangos nelygumas, skirtas transporto priemonių greičiui sumažinti arba leistinam greičiui palaikyti kelio (gatvės) ruože. Šių įrenginių paskirtis yra sumažinti pavojų pėstiesiems mažinant važiuojančių automobilių greitį. Automobiliai prieš greičio mažinimo priemonę greitį sumažina, pervažiavę ją, dažniausiai vėl didina greitį, todėl transporto keliamas triukšmas gali padidėti. Tyrimai buvo atlikti dienos metu L. Asanavičiūtės g. 5, Vilniuje. Tyrimai buvo išskirti į dvi dalis: tyrimai gyvenamojo pastato viduje ir tyrimai gyvenamojo pastato aplinkoje. Triukšmo lygis prie vertikaliosios trapecinės greičio mažinimo priemonės buvo 69 dB, tiriamojo gyvenamojo pastato viduje apie 41 dB. Šiame straipsnyje yra nagrinėjama greičio vertikaliosios trapecinės greičio mažinimo priemonės įtaka transporto keliamo triukšmo sklaidai į gyvenamąją aplinką. Loud noise has a negative impact on the entire body, especially on listening. We can hear daily noise everywhere – in the street, at work or at home. The Department of Environmental Protection of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University has adjusted an anechoic chamber adapted for suppressing sound. Under the above introduced conditions, 15 appliances (5 vacuum cleaners, 5 hair dryers and 5 shaving machines) have been tested. Equivalent sound pressure level of the vacuum cleaner has varied from 66 dBA to 83 dBA, that of the hair dryer has made from 64 dBA to 70 dBA and for the shaving machine – from 39 to 56 dBA.Article in Lithuanian

Ambient noise harms a number of citizens in Europe. The major sources of environmental noise are that generated by cars in streets, parking lots, railway lines and airports as well as noise from local sources (fans, transformers). According to the methodology for noise measurement, engine testing has been carried out. The conducted analysis has been focused on engine capacity and the distance between vehicles and equipment. Equivalent, maximum and minimum sound levels at different frequencies have been measured accepting that errors may range up to 2 %. Maximum sound level has been reached using the engine of 2000 cm3 petrol capacity. At a half-meter distance, the equivalent sound level reaches 89 dB(A), whereas the noise level decreases moving away from the car. The obtained results of tested cars disclose that according to engine capacity, the majority of the investigated cars are technically faulty and therefore significantly exceed noise levels.Article in Lithuanian

The paper examines kart noise propagation in the living environment and sought measures for suppressing it. To conduct experimental studies, precision sound level analyzer Bruel & Kjaer 2260th has been used. In cooperation with the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service, data on relative humidity, wind speed and direction, soil surface temperature and air temperature have been applied. According to the Lithuanian Hygiene Standard HN 33:2011 Noise Thresholds in Residential and Public Buildings and Their Environment, the areas with an elevated noise level are identified thus selecting noise reduction measures aimed at reducing noise levels up to the permitted ones. The analysis of the obtained results has focused on the regularities between noise propagation and meteorological events and their impact on the spread of noise. The environmental factors more or less influencing the climate and noise spread in the living area have been determined. With reference to the received information, the ways to reduce noise have been suggested. Santrauka Straipsnyje nagrinėjamas gokartų keliamo triukšmo sklidimas į gyvenamąją aplinką ir ieškoma priemonių jam slopinti. Eksperimentiniams tyrimams atlikti buvo naudojamas precizinis garso lygio analizatorius „Bruel&Kjaer 2260“. Bendradarbiaujant su Lietuvos hidrometeorologijos tarnyba panaudoti santykinės oro drėgmės, vėjo stiprumo ir krypties, dirvožemio paviršiaus temperatūros bei oro temperatūros duomenys. Vadovaujantis Lietuvos higienos normomis HN 33:2011 „Triukšmo ribiniai dydžiai gyvenamuosiuose ir visuomeninės paskirties pastatuose bei jų aplinkoje“ nustatomos zonos, kuriose triukšmo lygis yra viršijamas, ir parenkant triukšmo mažinimo priemones siekiama triukšmą sumažinti iki leidžiamųjų normų. Gautų rezultatų analizės metu ieškoma dėsningumų tarp triukšmo sklidimo ir meteorologinių reiškinių bei jų daroma įtaka triukšmo plitimui. Nustatomi aplinkos klimato veiksniai, darantys įtaką ar mažiau veikiantys triukšmo sklaidą gyvenamojoje teritorijoje. Atsižvelgiant į gautus rezultatus siūlomi triukšmo mažinimo būdai. Along with an increase in the aircraft engine power and growth in air traffic, noise level at airports and their surrounding environs significantly increases. Aircraft noise is high level noise spreading within large radius and intensively irritating the human body. Air transport is one of the main sources of noise having a particularly strong negative impact on the environment. The article deals with activities and noises taking place in the largest nationwide Vilnius International Airport.The level of noise and its dispersion was evaluated conducting research on the noise generated by emerging and descending aircrafts in National Vilnius Airport. Investigation was carried out at 2 measuring points located in a residential area. There are different types of aircrafts causing different sound levels. It has been estimated the largest exceedances that occur when an aircraft is approaching. In this case, the noisiest types of aircrafts are B733, B738 and AT72. The sound level varies from 70 to 85 dBA. The quietest aircrafts are RJ1H and F70. When taking off, the equivalent of the maximum sound level value of these aircrafts does not exceed the authorized limits. The paper describes the causes of noise in aircrafts, the sources of origin and the impact of noise on humans and the environment. Santrauka Padidėjus orlaivių variklių galiai ir daugėjant skrydžių, labai padidėjo oro uostuose ir šalia jų esančiose apylinkėse skleidžiamo triukšmo lygis. Lėktuvo keliamas triukšmas išsiskiria aukštu garso slėgio lygiu bei dideliu spinduliu sklindančiu garsu ir yra labiausiai dirginantis žmogaus organizmą. Orlaivių transportas – vienas pagrindinių triukšmo šaltinių, darantis ypač didelę neigiamą įtaką aplinkai. Nagrinėjamas Tarptautiniame Vilniaus oro uoste kylančių ir tupiančių orlaivių keliamas triukšmas. Triukšmo tyrimai atlikti gyvenamojoje aplinkoje greta oro uosto parinktose matavimo vietose. Pateikiami įvairių orlaivių tipų sukeliamo garso stiprumo – garso slėgio lygiai. Didžiausias leistinųjų verčių viršijimas nustatomas orlaiviams leidžiantis. Triukšmingiausi B733, B738 ir AT72 tipo orlaiviai – garso slėgio lygis 70–85 dBA. Vieni tyliausių orlaivių – RJ1H ir F70. Jiems kylant ekvivalentinės ir maksimalios garso slėgio lygio reikšmės neviršija leidžiamųjų. Aprašomos orlaivių keliamo triukšmo priežastys, kilimo šaltiniai. To avoid a negative impact on human health, Lithuania, alike other countries, pays full attention to reducing noise in the environment. One of the implemented actions against noise sources and the way to reduce it is a composition of strategic maps. Research focuses on the performance of modelling noise dispersion employing CadnaA and IMMI software and proposes the analysis of the actuarial reliability of the above-mentioned programs. The dispersion of the noise generated by railway transport has been modelled in the dwelling area of Klaipeda railway station. The chosen zone covers a sector of 500 m in length and is situated at the distance of 150–200 m from this sector. Modelling noise dispersion maps applying both programs displayed that the maximum level of noise caused by day and night railway transport was registered near railway during both periods of time and varied from 75 to 80 dBA, whereas at the locations of 150–200 m that are more distant from the railway line, the level of noise gradually reduces and reaches the level of 35–50 dBA in cases CadnaA or IMMI programs are introduced. Program STATISTICA along with Mann Whitney U and Kolmogorov–Smirnov D non-parametric statistical tests were used for assessing the actuarial reliability of modelling programs used for noise dispersion. The obtained data indicate that the level of significance p was not exceeding the value of 0.05 in all cases. Santrauka Lietuvoje, kaip ir kitose šalyse, daug dėmesio skiriama triukšmui aplinkoje mažinti siekiant išvengti jo neigiamo poveikio sveikatai, aplinkos kokybei. Viena iš triukšmo ir jo poveikio mažinimo priemonių yra strateginių žemėlapių sudarymas. Tyrimo tikslas – atlikti triukšmo sklaidos modeliavimą programomis CadnaAir IMMI bei pateikti šių programų statistinio patikimumo analizę. Modeliuojama geležinkelio transporto triukšmo sklaida Klaipėdos geležinkelio stoties gyvenamojoje teritorijoje 500 m ilgio geležinkelio ruože ir per 150–200 m nuo jo. Modeliuojant geležinkelio transporto dieną ir naktį sukeliamo triukšmo sklaidą nustatyta, jog abiem nagrinėtais laikotarpiais abiejų programų pateiktuose triukšmo sklaidos žemėlapiuose didžiausias triukšmo lygis – nuo 75 iki 80 dBA fiksuojamas šalia geležinkelio bėgių. Tolstant nuo bėgių, triukšmo lygis tolygiai mažėja, 150–200 m atstumu siekia 35–50 dBA ir CadnaA, ir IMMI triukšmo sklaidos modeliuose – ir dieną, ir naktį. Triukšmo sklaidos modeliavimo programų patikimumas vertintas programa STATISTICA bei Mann Whitney U ir Kolmogorov–Smirnov D neparametrinės statistikos testais. Šie rodė, jog reikšmingumo lygmuo p visais atvejais neviršijo 0,05 reikšmės. Todėl teigiama, kad abiejų modeliavimo programų pateikti rezultatai patikimi. Now, it is normally agreed that noise barriers – shields with appropriate devices on the top edge – limit the diffraction of sound waves more effectively than the usual shields of the equal or in some cases even greater height. These barriers are referred to as “edge-modified” noise shields. The article describes acoustic field researches that estimate the impact of the slope of the upper edge of the noise barrier on the effectiveness of shielding from environmental noise. The article was drafted on the basis of methodical recommendations presented in the standard ISO 11821: 1997 “Acoustics – Measurement of the in situ sound attenuation of a removable screen”. While altering the slope angle, respectively to 90°, 120°, 150°, 180°, different noise barriers were formed: “L90” (slope angle 90°), “J120”, “J150” (slope angles 120° and 150°), and the usual “straight type” (slope angle 180°). The impact made by the form of the noise barrier on the spread of noise in the noise suppression area was observed at the areas of low (100–315 Hz) and high (2000–5000 Hz) frequency. The most effective form of a barrier in reducing the diffraction of low frequency sound waves was “J120”, whereas high frequency sound waves were most effectively reduced using a usual straight noise barrier. Santrauka Paprastai pripažįstama, kad triukšmo slopinimo sienelės-ekranai su atitinkamais įtaisais ant jų viršutinio krašto efektyviau riboja garso bangų difrakciją, palyginti su įprastiniais tokio pat aukščio, o kai kuriais atvejais ir aukštesniais, ekranais. Ekranai su įtaisais vadinami „modifikuotosios briaunos“ triukšmo slopinimo ekranais. Atliekant akustinius natūrinius tyrimus vertinta triukšmo slopinimo sienelės viršutinės dalies polinkio įtaka aplinkoje sklindančio garso bangų ekranavimo efektui. Tyrimų metodika parengta pagal EN ISO 11821:1997 „Akustika. Natūrinis kilnojamo ekrano garso silpninimo matavimas“ standarte pateikiamas metodines rekomendacijas. Polinkio kampą keičiant atitinkamai 90°, 120°, 150°, 180°, formuota „L90“ (polinkio kampas 90°), „J120“, „J150“ (polinkio kampas 120° ir 150°) ir įprastinio „tiesiojo tipo“ (polinkio kampas 180°) triukšmo slopinimo sienelės. Triukšmo slopinimo sienelės formos įtaka triukšmo sklaidai stebima žemojo (100–315 Hz) ir aukštojo dažnio (2000–5000 Hz) srityse. Žemojo dažnio garso bangų difrakciją efektyviausiai sumažina „J120“ formos ekranas, aukštojo dažnio srityje didžiausias ekranavimo efektas pasiektas taikant įprastinę „tiesiojo tipo“ triukšmo slopinimo sienelę. Transport is one of the main sources of noise having a particularly strong negative impact on the environment. In the city, one of the best methods to reduce the spread of noise in residential areas is a noise barrier. The article presents noise reduction barrier adaptation with empirical formulas calculating and modelling noise distribution. The simulation of noise dispersion has been performed applying the CadnaA program that allows modelling the noise levels of various developments under changing conditions. Calculation and simulation is obtained by assessing the level of noise reduction using the same variables. The investigation results are presented as noise distribution isolines. The selection of a different height of noise barriers are the results calculated at the heights of 1, 4 and 15 meters. The level of noise reduction at the maximum overlap of data, calculation and simulation has reached about 10%. Article in Lithuanian. Slopinimo ekrano optimalaus aukščio nustatymo skaičiavimas ir modeliavimas Anotacija. Transportas yra vienas pagrindinių triukšmo šaltinių, darantis ypač didelę neigiamą įtaką aplinkai. Daugeliu atvejų miestuose vienas iš tinkamiausių metodų mažinti triukšmo sklidimą į gyvenamąsias teritorijas yra triukšmo slopinimo sienelės. Straipsnyje pristatoma, kaip triukšmo mažinimo ekranas pritaikomas gyvenvietėje skaičiuojant empirinėmis formulėmis ir modeliuojant triukšmo sklaidą. Triukšmo sklaida modeliuota programa „CadnaA“, leidžiančia modeliuoti triukšmo lygių pokyčius keičiant įvairias sąlygas. Skaičiavimo ir modeliavimo būdu gaunamas triukšmo lygio sumažėjimas vertinamas naudojant tuos pačius kintamuosius. Parenkant skirtingo aukščio triukšmo slopinimo ekranus, skaičiuojami rezultatai 1, 4, 15 m aukščiuose. Triukšmo lygio sumažėjimo gautų duomenų didžiausias nesutapimas skaičiavimo ir modeliavimo būdu siekė apie 10 %. Traffic‐generated noise accounts for 60–80% of the noise prevailing in towns. With the aim of reducing the impact of noise on humans, measures and methods of fighting noise in towns and residential areas should be developed. In the majority of cases, noise suppression walls (barriers) are one of the most suitable means in tows to reduce the dispersion of noise to residential territories. Acoustic properties of materials to be used for noise walls were investigated and, on the basis of the obtained findings, the most suitable materials with regard to noise reduction were proposed. A noise‐suppression chamber was designed and installed for the experimental investigation into acoustic properties. Separate materials (fibreglass, wood chipboard, gypsum cardboard, foam polystyrene) were used for the experiment by composing various structures of different modifications. With the aim of evaluating the capacity of different materials to suppress noise, a coefficient was used to evaluate noise suppression in a material thickness measuring unit. Efficiency of the noise reduction structures used in the experiment is described by a separate index. Different materials differently suppress the dispersion of noise of various frequencies, whereas the structures of wood chipboards (10 mm) filled with fibreglass or rock wool are the most efficient in all frequency ranges compared with acoustic properties of other structures used during the experiment. Santrauka 60–80 % miestuose vyraujančio triukšmo kelia transportas. Kad triukšmo poveikis žmogui būtų mažesnis, būtina ieškoti priemonių ir būdų triukšmui miestuose ir gyvenvietėse mažinti. Daugeliu atvejų miestuose vienas iš tinkamiausių metodų tam yra triukšmo slopinimo sienelės (barjerai). Tiriant nustatyta triukšmo sienelėms naudotinų medžiagų akustinės savybės bei, atsižvelgiant į gautus rezultatus, siūlomos triukšmo slopinimo požiūriu tinkamiausios medžiagos. Akustinių savybių eksperimentiniams tyrimams buvo sukonstruota ir įrengta triukšmo slopinimo kamera. Tirta skirtingos medžiagos (stiklo vata, medžio drožlių plokštės, gipso kartono plokštės, putų polistirolas) bei iš jų sudarytos konstrukcijos, panaudojant įvairias modifikacijas. Skirtingų medžiagų geba slopinti triukšmą vertinta nustačius koeficientą. Jį taikant gaunamas garso slopinimas medžiagos storio mato vienete. Bandymuose naudojamų konstrukcijų, skirtų triukšmui mažinti, efektyvumas apibūdinamas tam tikru rodikliu. Įvairios medžiagos skirtingai slopina įvairių dažnių garso sklidimą, o medžio drožlių plokštės (10 mm) konstrukcijos su stiklo arba akmens vatos užpildu tam tinka geriausiai. Palyginti su kitomis bandymuose panaudotomis konstrukcijomis efektyviausiai slopinamas beveik visų dažnių diapazonų garsas. Резюме Основным источником шума в городах, составляющим 60–80% общего шума, является транспорт. В целях снижения шумового воздействия на человека необходимо найти пути и средства уменьшения шума в городах и населенных пунктах. Во многих случаях одним из наиболее приемлемых методов уменьшения распространения шума в городах и жилых районах являются звукоизоляционные экраны. Объектом исследования настоящей статьи были акустические свойства материалов, из которых конструируются звукоизоляционные экраны. Полученные результаты показали, какие из проанализированных материалов наиболее применимы для поглощения шума. Для экспериментального исследования акустических свойств материалов была построена шумопоглощающая камера. Исследовались различные виды материалов (стекловата, прессованные древесные плиты, гипсокартон, пенополистирол), а также их конструкции разной модификации. Акустические свойства материалов эффективно поглощать шум характеризуются определенными индикаторами. Наиболее эффективно поглощающими шум всех диапазонов частот по сравнению с другими материалами оказались конструкции, в которых применялись прессованные древесные плиты. Mechanization of industrial and agricultural production, increase of urban and rural traffic flows, modernization of domestic facilities cause a rapid expansion of acoustic discomfort zones. Since the noise level in any environment is one of the basic factors determining the human comfort indicator, investigation into noise processes is given special attention by researchers. Seaport freight discharge terminals are also connected with noise problems. Noise from AB KLASCO fertilizer discharge terminal of Klaipeda seaport cause great concern to local people. There is a noise barrier installed near the terminal. The present paper describes the efficiency evaluation of the noise barrier according to the noise level measurements performed, modelling of noise spread and mathematical calculations. The investigation was performed with noise measuring equipment Bruel&Kjaer mediator 2260. According to measurements, it is obvious that the noise level in the residential zone is 3–4 dBA above the limits (limits are given in HN 33–1:2003) in the daytime, and by 7 dBA at night. The modelling of noise spread was performed by CadnaA program which allowed to make different models according to variations of the noise level caused by changing conditions. Triukšmo lygis darbo vietoje ar namų aplinkoje yra vienas pagrindinių veiksnių, lemiančių komforto rodiklį, todėl vis daugiau dėmesio skiriama triukšmo procesų nagrinėjimui. Triukšmą kelia ir jūrų uostų krovinių stotys. Klaipėdos uosto šiaurinėje dalyje vykdomi krovos darbai kelia didelį uostamiesčio gyventojų susirūpinimą. Viena iš opesnių problemų yra iš AB KLASCO biriųjų trąšų terminalo sklindantis triukšmas. Šalia terminalo įrengta triukšmo slopinimo sienelė. Straipsnyje pateiktas sienelės efektyvumo įvertinimas, atlikus tyrimus taikant skaičiavimo, matavimo bei modeliavimo metodus. Triukšmo matavimo tyrimai atlikti naudojant triukšmamatį Bruel&Kjaer mediator 2260. Iš gautų rezultatų matyti, kad triukšmo lygis gyvenamojoje teritorijoje 3–6 dB viršija leistinąsias higienos normos HN 33-1:2003 vertes dienos metu, taip pat 7 dB – nakties metu greta gyvenamųjų namų. Triukšmo sklaidos modeliavimas atliktas programa CadnaA, leidžiančia modeliuoti triukšmo lygių pokyčius keičiantis sąlygoms. Определение эффективности шумопоглощающей стенки Резюме В настоящее время, когда промышленность и сельское хозяйство сильно механизировано, увеличивается количество машин в городах и селах, в быту все больше применяется техника, сильно возрастает число дискомфортных зон, которые находятся под влиянием шума. Особенно это ощущают рабочие на предприятиях. С проблемой шума сталкиваются работники и морских судовых портов, в которых имеются грузовые станции. Исследования шума производились в терминале сыпучих удобрений Клайпедской морской грузовой компании. Полученные результаты сравнены с допустимыми величинами, установленными гигиеническими нормами Литвы. Около терминала по разгрузке сыпучих удобрений установлена шумопоглощающая стенка. Для измерения характеристик шума применен шумомер Bruel&Kjaer mediator 2260. Наибольшие измеренные уровни шума в жилой зоне на 3–7 дБ превышали допустимые литовскими гигиеническими нормами. In contemporary life the mechanization of industrial and agricultural production, increasing traffic flows in towns and settlements, and modernization of household technologies result in the expansion of vibration and noise areas. This is in particular experienced by the industrial enterprise staff, vehicle drivers, passengers and others. Vibration affects the nervous system, blood circulation, tissues and does other kinds of harm to human health. The impact on humans depends on a distance to a vibration source, material whereby vibration spreads, and the duration and velocity of vibration. The spread of vibration together with noise significantly increases the impact of vibration. Noise and vibration problems are encountered in seaport discharge terminals as well. The investigation of vibration in the bulk fertilizer terminal of Klaipeda Stevedoring Company as well as obtained findings were compared to permissible values specified in the Lithuanian Hygiene Norms. The investigation showed the highest vibration acceleration levels inside the terminal, where they varied from 0,4 to 3,2 m/s2, and outdoors, by the fertilizer discharge terminal, on the paving, where they varied from 0,0005 to 0,0042 m/s2 (at 1–16 Hz frequency). Ypač su tuo susiduria pramonės įmonių darbuotojai, transporto priemonių vairuotojai, jų keleiviai ir kt. Vibracija veikia nervų sistemą, kraujo apytaką, audinius ir kitaip kenkia sveikatai. Vibracijos poveikis žmogui priklauso nuo atstumo iki jos židinio, medžiagos, kuria vibracija sklinda, vibracijos trukmės ir sklidimo spartos. Kai vibracija sklinda kartu su triukšmu, jos poveikis žymiai didesnis. Su triukšmo bei vibracijos problemomis susiduriama ir jūrų uostų krovinių stotyse. Vibracijos tyrimai atlikti Klaipėdos jūrų krovinių kompanijos biriųjų trąšų terminale. Gauti rezultatai palyginti su Lietuvos higienos normose pateiktais leistinaisiais dydžiais. Tyrimų metu didžiausi vibracijos pagreičio lygiai terminalo viduje kito nuo 0,4 iki 3,2 m/s2 , o lauke, prie trąšų iškrovimo terminalo, ant grindinio, – nuo 0,0005 iki 0,0042 m/s2 (esant 1–16 Hz dažniams). Особенно часто в таких зонах приходится находиться работникам промышленных предприятий, водителям транспортных средств, их пассажирам и др. Вибрация отрицательно сказывается на здоровье человека: его нервной системе, кровообращении, тканях. Воздействие вибрации на человека зависит от расстояния до ее источника, материала, по которому распространяется вибрация, продолжительности и частоты распространения вибрации. В случае, когда вибрация распространяется вместе с шумом, ее воздействие увеличивается. С проблемами шума и вибрации сталкиваются также работники станций по разгрузке грузов в морских портах. Исследование вибраций проводилось в терминале по разгрузке порошкообразных удобрений в Клайпедской компании морских грузов. Полученные результаты сравнены с величинами, допустимыми литовскими гигиеническими нормами. Во время исследований наибольшие уровни скоростей вибраций внутри терминала колебались от 0,4 м/с 2 до 3,2 м/с2 , а на открытом месте выгрузки удобрений – от 0,0005 м/с 2 до 0,0042 м/с 2 (при частоте 1–16 герц).
