Covid-19 has appealed to teachers around the world to adopt a new era of online teaching-learning methods instead of traditional teaching methods. It is a challenge for teachers to engage students in the learning process and measure outcomes with proper tools. The use of online platforms forced every teacher to redesign teaching strategies. A teacher has to think about online learning platforms and design instructional strategies. Different tools are available to make online learning interactive. The selection and application of tools is a skill of the individual teacher. In the present work, outcomes of the course Engine Design (ED) are mentioned. The course is taught online using the MS-Teams platform. During course delivery, various instructional strategies like, Games, quizzes, Discussion forums, Polls, etc. are used. Outcomes, of course, taught using an online platform and active learning tools (batch 2020-21) are measured using attainment of course outcomes CO’s and course end survey (CES). A combination of active learning techniques with online teaching is helpful to deliver the subject effectively. The CO attainment and CES indicate improvement in student communication, perspective thinking, design and modeling skills. The growing importance of data science and analytics has led to innovative applications spread across various fields and genres over a short period of time. While data and the associated science are challenges in themselves, the applications using them to solve existing problems have instigated and brought to the spotlight new obstacles. To explore the new found understanding of the data middle ground between natural language and computer grammar, we propose a data science application model, Po-Miner. Po-Miner is an online poem generator based on scraped online web data. Along with syllable counts, rhymes, and other poem notions, Po-Miner induces clustering, and other data mining techniques via the Po-Select algorithm for random poem generation. Though a random poem lacks completeness and meaning, the very aspect of randomness brings in creativity and depth. Po-Miner operates on the grammar rules to generate a poem structured in a 5 × 5 grid. The paper presents the Po-Miner model, implementation, poems, analysis, and further, extends to its applicability in the security domain using the gird poem model. The poem generated by the Po-Miner can be used as an alternative and an enhancement to the one-time password system as its application. The Po-Miner appears to be a promising application that can be extended to several other domains.

Technological advancements and the changing needs drive the process workflow, meeting the need-of-the-hour requirements, and calibrating system components. While the perception evolves, the fundamental principles stay put and wrap around generational disparities. In a changing scenario of the physical market to an e-commerce site, the recommendation systems have had substantial roles. The present systems customarily use the item or user profiles for recommendations. The existing recommendation systems rely heavily on data and learning algorithms. An improved recommendation system given by considering the query’s semantics rather than using only historical data of numerous worldwide queries can create a paradigm shift in the technologies involved in computer recommendations. Bag of science attempts to take on this challenge. The model dwells on inferring a query’s meaning in all contexts to create an order in which the words relate. By constructing a word definition graph, the methodology explores the possibility of enhancing the recommendation systems to improve the e-commerce platforms’ business. The paper presents the model’s architecture with its chief components, including a parser and scraper, graph generator, graph traversal, and results. The model presents the traversal results and analysis of the constructed e-commerce graphs using hops as the threshold metric. The paper also presents the model’s abstract data type to make it applicable and extend to other domain contexts that involve query engines and need recommendations.

The weight reduction of driveshaft has a big role to play and it becomes a highly desirable goal when achieved without decreasing quality and reliability. The epoxy laminated composite material is excellent material where a high strength to weight ratio is desirable. In the present study, the problem undertaken is finite element modeling and simulations of the glass-epoxy composite drive shaft for its performance and failure analysis. The analysis results have shown the torsional and torsional buckling strengths are 3589 Nm and 25757 Nm, respectively. In the dynamic simulation, the natural frequency is 315.2 Hz and the driveshaft is stable up to 16319 rpm. The progressive failure analysis has shown all local stresses are below the ultimate strength of glass epoxy composite lamina and positive safety margin.

Image stitching is a process of merging two or more images of the scene into single image of high resolution which is also termed as panoramic image. Image stitching is used to assimilate information from several images by overlapping view fields to create a panoramic view without loss of any information. Stitching of images can be performed by two types of common approaches such as direct and indirect techniques. Direct techniques involve direct comparison of image pixel intensities that are combining. Indirect techniques are dependent on image features. These techniques incorporate feature detection and feature matching of the images to be stitched. In this proposed work, efficient feature detection and feature matching techniques such as Scale-Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT), Speeded-Up Robust Features (SURF) and Features from Accelerated Segment Test (FAST), Euclidean distance and Random sample consensus (RANSAC) are used for the process of image stitching. Images of a scene are captured with fifteen degree difference. These images are pre-processed if needed and then fed to feature detection and matching process. Using the matched feature points, images are stitched to get a 360 degree scene in a single image as outcome. The FAST technique gives good matching points of images using RANSAC which help in obtaining a better stitched image with integrating all the data of different images involved in stitching. The experiment is carried out for two datasets and average detected feature points and matched points for three algorithms are computed. The SIFT algorithm gives 36 matched points among 319 detected points, SURF gives 55 matched points among 334 detected feature points and FAST gives 102 matched points among 774 detected feature points. Image stitching finds application in various fields such as medical imaging, satellite imagery, automobile industries, image stabilization, document mosaicing and further image stitching can be extended to video stitching.

Background: Since December 2019, coronavirus disease (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has rapidly spread, becoming the first pandemic of the 21st century by number of deaths (over 3.8 million deaths worldwide) and still increasing. Many aspects of SARS-CoV-2 infection in children and adolescents remain unclear, and optimal treatment has not yet been defined.Methods: This is a collective descriptive study with analytical wing; on 756 children who were COVID-19 positive; at Ameya well baby clinic at Ameya orthopaedic centre and children hospital, Borivali West, Mumbai, India from December 2019 up to December 2021. In our study 756 children from birth to fifteen years who were symptomatic for COVID-19 and the diagnosis was confirmed by COVID RTPCR positive test, were treated with our standard protocol which included nebulization, bronchodilators and antibiotics on outpatient basis, with home quarantine and follow up done by teleconsultation. Data was entered and analysed using SPSS software version 11. Proportions were compared using Chi square (χ2) test of significance, categorical variables were assessed using χ2. In all the above the p value of less than 0.05 was accepted as indicating statistical significance.Results: In the study the covid affected children were treated with our protocol improved (p value less than 0.05).Conclusions: The findings of this study clearly establish the role of our protocol in treating COVID affected children on out-patient basis in the current COVID scenario prevailing in our country.

Congenital heart diseases (CHDs) are of two types-acyanotic and cyanotic. Acyanotic heart diseases include atrial septal defect ASD, ventricular septal defect VSD, patent ductus arteriosus PDA, coarctation of aorta and atrioventricular cushion defects. Cyanotic heart disease includes Fallot’s tetralogy, transposition of the great vessels, Total anomalous pulmonary venous return, Tricuspid atresia and single ventricle or hypoplastic left heart or hypoplastic right heart syndrome (HRHS). Hypoplastic right heart is a rarer condition than the hypoplastic left heart. Our patient had a cyanotic heart disease; presented to us with hypoplastic right heart, a very rare association consisting of pulmonary atresia combined with a hypoplastic right ventricle and well-developed pulmonary arteries. Early clinical diagnosis and surgical intervention saved this child.

Moyamoya disease is an uncommon vascular disease, which causes obstruction and stenosis of arteries of the circle of Willis. This dis ease is seen across the world, but is more common in east Asia. It may cause hemorrhagic or ischemic stroke, or transient ischemic attack. Fever, vomiting and convulsions, are usually suggestive of infective etiology involving brain and meninges. This case report is about a child with meningoencephalitis. Tuberculous meningoencephalitis is the commonest cause, in India, followed by viral type. In our patient we found out that there was an additional finding in form of moyamoya arteritis, which is a rare finding in children.

Niemann-pick disease is a rare lysosomal storage disease responsible for numerous cytological abnormalities involving liver, spleen, lymph nodes, nervous system, lungs and bone marrow. This disease occurs due to accumulation of sphingomyelin in various tissues. Our patient was a 10 month who boy presented with hepatosplenomegaly. Cherry red spot was found on ophthalmologic examination. Niemann-Pick cell was confirmed on bone marrow examination and lysosomal studies. A good clinical examination led us to the diagnosis of Niemann-Pick disease.
