Recent literature on abusive supervision has suggested its negative impact on a number of work outcomes. However, we still have little knowledge about the impact of destructive leadership on employee career outcomes. Drawing on social cognitive theory (SCT), we propose that abusive supervision challenges employee career adaptability by damaging career self-efficacy beliefs in the workplace. Three-wave data collected from 287 employees working in different organizations situated in China has shown that abusive supervision is negatively related to employee career adaptability through career self-efficacy. Moreover, coworker support was found to buffer the association between abusive supervision and career adaptability such that the relationships are weaker at higher levels of coworker support. The purpose of this research is to explore the impact of occupational stress on job performance of police employees. We theorized and tested the role of career satisfaction in the relationship between occupational stress and job performance as an underlying psychological mechanism. Primary data have been collected from 271 police employees working at AJ&K Pakistan. Results of this research study have shown that occupational stress is negatively related to career satisfaction, in‐role performance, and extra‐role performance of police employees. Moreover, career satisfaction mediates the relationships between occupational stress and in‐role and extra‐role performance of police employees. This research study has called researchers' and policy makers' attention towards an important issue of occupational stress in the police profession. The research will play an important role in compelling the top management, authorities, policy makers, and government officials of police to ponder over the issues of occupational stress aimed at enhancing the job performance including in‐role and extra‐role performance of police employees. Despite the increasing use of social media, very little is known about its consequences for students of graduate research training. The purpose of this study is to look into the outcomes of social media usage while answering when and how the use of social media may lead to students' creativity and engagement. Primary data were collected from 383 research students studying in different universities in eastern China. Findings reveal that students' use of social media is related to their creativity and engagement in graduate research training through knowledge sharing behavior. In addition, cyberbullying was found to play the role of boundary condition such that the mediated relationships are weak for the students facing more cyberbullying. Road infrastructure and transportation networks play a major role in development of a country's economy and local residents. In Pakistan, such dependence has led to major investments in road construction with the mega-project China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Using social exchange theory, this study investigates residents' attitudes toward CPEC development in Pakistan. Primary data used in this research study has been collected from 286 residents of Pakistan through an online survey. The local community's support of CPEC in Pakistan was investigated by using several parameters, including the community's personal benefit, satisfaction, and perceived effects (positive and negative). Findings of this study indicate that the local community's personal benefit is a strong predictor for support of CPEC development, while satisfaction and positive effects mediate the relationship between personal benefits related to CPEC and support for CPEC development. However, the perceived negative effect of CPEC has not shown a significant relationship with support for CPEC development. Results of this study may help CPEC policymakers understand the local community's perceptions, gain local community support for the CPEC route, and design policies accordingly for future development. Social networking site (SNS) providers and information system (IS) researchers are becoming increasingly interested in the factors that cause individuals to quit SNS. This study integrates the psychological and neurocognitive perspectives to examine the effects of poor sleep quality on the intention to quit. We utilise stress–strain–outcome, guilt, and ego depletion theories to argue that the excessive use of smartphone-based SNSs at night decreases sleep quality. Poor sleep quality increases the failure of self-control on SNS use and guilt, thereby increasing the intention to quit. • Conscientious individuals are more likely to recycle their waste smartphones. • Recycling channel is not a factor influencing smartphones recycling. • Information security becomes an important factor influencing smartphones recycling. Based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB), this article analyses how conscientiousness and risk perception influence consumers' behavior intentions in regard to smartphone recycling. We carried out field research in Anhui Province, China and collected 802 valid questionnaires as basic data for this study. The empirical results of structural equation model (SEM) indicate that conscientiousness is positively related to attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control towards smartphone recycling, while attitude, subjective norm, and past behavior are positively related to smartphone recycling intention. Attitude and subjective norm mediate the relationship between conscientiousness and smartphone recycling intention. In addition, we found that risk perception moderates the relationships between conscientiousness and attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, and past behavior. Recent research reveals that the social media usage has been rapidly increased in higher education. Yet we know a little about the consequences of social media use among students. The current study is an attempt to understand how and when the use of social media by the students is related to their academic engagement and creativity. We collected the primary data from 267 graduate and undergraduate students enrolled at different universities situated in the Hefei city of the Anhui province of China. Findings reveal that social media use by the students is positively related to their creativity and academic engagement through intrinsic motivation while cyberbullying plays a boundary condition role on these relationships such that the direct and indirect relationships are weak when cyberbullying is higher. As the number of smartphone users have increased worldwide, research on the usage of the smartphone has received scholarly attention. However, different results were found in previous studies in different contexts. The main research question is whether adopting smartphones by students improve learning or generates interference. The purpose of this study is to examine the usage of smartphone among university students in Pakistan. Using a survey approach, data were collected from different universities/colleges of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. total, 585 entries was analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0 software. Results of analysis, validated most of the hypothesis showing the intention of Pakistani students towards smartphone usage for academic purpose. In addition, findings confirm that students' self‐efficacy related to a smartphone works as a moderating role of intention to use a smartphone for learning and actual usage of the smartphone. The current study has several implications in terms of smartphone usage and student academic performance. Limitations and implications of the study are also discussed in the last section. Drawing on social cognitive theory, this study extends our understanding of the relationship between ethical leadership and employee work engagement, by exploring self-efficacy as an important mediating variable. In addition, we propose that the quality of LMX moderates the relationships such that the direct and indirect relationships between ethical leadership, self-efficacy, and work engagement are stronger when the quality of LMX is high. Data collected in two-waves from 373 respondents working in different manufacturing organizations of Pakistan supported our hypothesized theoretical model.
