Present study intended to explore the role of relationship maintenance behavior on marital quality. Moreover, present study aimed to investigate the moderating role of trust and mediating role of perceived partner responsiveness on the study variables. Through purposive sampling, 592 married individuals both men and women participated in the study. The key instruments utilized in the study were relationship Maintenance Behavior Measure by Stafford and Canary (1991), Trust in Close Relationship Scale (Remple et al., 1985), Perceived Partner Responsiveness Scale (PPRS) developed by Reis et al. (2011), Norton's Quality of Marriage Index (QMI; Norton, 1983). Correlation analysis was carried out to measure the relationship among studied variable. Moderation was used to examine the moderating role of trust on the studied variables as well as mediation analysis was performed to examine whether perceived partner responsiveness mediates the relationship of studied variables. Study findings revealed a significant positive correlation between relationship maintenance behaviors and marital quality which suggests that higher levels of relationship maintenance behavior are associated with higher marital quality. Moderation analysis revealed that trust did not moderate the relationship between relationship maintenance behavior and marital quality. Mediation analysis showed indirect effect of relationship maintenance behavior on marital quality through perceived partner responsiveness. Present study highlighted the role of perceived partner responsiveness in dyadic relationships and makes key recommendations for family counselors working with clients in troubled marriages for improving clients' marital quality. This study aimed to develop the cognitive error scale and assesses the psychometric properties of the newly developed scale. Cognitive errors are disturbed thoughts that negatively affect the individual's emotions and cause them to view reality inaccurately. The items were generated based on the interviews that were taken from the participants (N=45). The scale was administered on the sample (N=350) males and females (17-50 years) from Wah Cantt, Attock, and Rawalpindi, Pakistan using simple random sampling technique. Principle Component factor analysis was carried out for scale development. Items with factor loadings >.30 on the initial factors for the cognitive error scale were selected for the final version of the scale. To make sure the data were suitable, several tests were run before the factor analysis. Five factors were extracted based on promax rotation. The scale was finalized with 15 items comprising 5 factors. The study helps in determining other cognitive errors that were also defined by Beck and it needs to be confirmed by Confirmatory Factor analysis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study was intended to examine the relationship between personal growth, resilience, and burden of care among single parents and role of resilience as mediator between personal growth and burden of care. 100 single parents (M=37, F=63) took part in this study. For data compilation, the personal growth initiative scale-II, brief resilience scale, and burden scale of family caregivers were used. The results demonstrated that personal growth has a substantial positive correlation with resilience and negative correlation with burden of care. Furthermore, resilience significantly mediated the relationship between personal growth and burden of care. Findings evidenced that there are no significant gender differences. Research has been conducted on the CH (sub)2 Cl (sub)2. The crystal structure and the physical properties of this compound have been investigated and the results indicate that the CH (sub)2 Cl (sub)2 solvate exhibits the donor layer disorder.

A new Bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene (BEDT-TTF) charge-transfer salt containing the novel anion [Fe(sub 2)(C(sub 2)O(sub 4))(sub 5)](super 4-) is presented. An antiferromagnetic interaction between pairs of FE atoms results from the bridging oxalate ligand providing an exchange pathway between the two Fe(super III) centers.

Place and Duration of Study: Adult cardiology department of AFIC/NIHD, Rawalpindi, from Sept to Dec 2019. Methodology: Eighty Four patients of Heart Failure with reduced LVEF after satisfying inclusion and exclusion criteria were recruited in this study through non-probability consecutive sampling technique. Data was collected from ER and OPD patients through complete history based on demographics (i.e. age and gender), co-morbidities (i.e. diabetes, hypertension, CAD and smoking history), previous EF record measured on 2D-echo, functional improvement of the patients using NYHA dyspnea class and guideline recommended medication history with compliance. The data was analyzed using SPSS version 23. Results: A total of 84 patients of Heart Failure with LVEF = 31.61 ± 7.61% were enrolled out of whom 62 (73.8%) were male and 22 (26.2%) female patients. The mean age of patients was 62.26 ± 9.879 years. About 30 (35.7%) patients were diabetic, 44 (52.4%) were hypertensive, 19 (22.6%) were current smokers, 16 (19%) were ex-smokers and 49 (58.2%) were nonsmokers. Those with history of CAD were (SVCAD=8 (9.5%), DVCAD=14 (16.7%), TVCAD 15 (17.9%). Compliance of patients to treatment was 74 (88.1%) good. Patients presenting with NYHA Class I/II 3 (3.6%)/20 (23.6%) showed significant improvement after medical therapy 34 (40.5%)/30 (35.7%), whereas those with class III/IV did not show significant improvement in functional status. Conclusion: This survey shows that patient's compliance is relatively goods but patients with NYHA III/IV were receiving suboptimal treatment. Secondly patients presenting with NYHAI/II after medical therapy showed significant improvement in functional status as compared to those with NYHA III/IV. Thereby further actions are needed for improving quality of life and standard of care among HF patients by optimization of treatment according to guidelines. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Reports that the compound (BEDT-TTF)4.Fe2(C2O4)5 is composed of an Fe(III)-Fe(III) oxalate bridged dimer interspersed with 4 BEDT-TTF in a checkerboard arrangement. Presence of [Fe2(C2O4)5]4- anions and four dimerized BEDT-TTF cations; Indication that the compound is semiconducting with short-range antiferromagnetic ordering at low temperature.

Abstract Nanobiotechnology is the study of small biological structures ranging in size of 1-100nm. Zinc oxide (ZnO) is a versatile inorganic molecule having strong antimicrobial, disinfecting and drying properties, useful in production of medicines. ZnO nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) are metallic nano-particles with high catalytic, biological and UV-blockage properties. Aim of this study is to synthesize cost-effective and eco-friendly ZnO-NPs by using zinc-acetate-dihydrate and Lallemantia royleana seed-extract as reducing, stabilizing and capping agent. Biosynthesized ZnO-NPs were characterized by various analytical techniques. The characteristic peak of ZnO-NPs was measured at ∼382nm. FT-IR analysis revealed polysaccharide nature of L. royleana-extract and their functional group’s interaction with ZnO-NPs responsible for reduction and stabilization. SEM and XRD results revealed hexagonal-wurtzite structure of ZnO-NPs with average size of 18.26 nm. These ZnO-NPs possess strong anti-hemolytic and catalytic potentials.
