Abstract

When it comes to electricity, renewable energy sources (RES) are becoming more important as demand for energy grows and environmental concerns grow. Solar PV is the most appealing alternative energy source (RES) for power production because of its vast availability and pollution-free nature. An important component of every PV system is the power converter, which regulates the non-linear output of PV panels, so that they may be used in a freestanding or grid linked system or a motor drive system. In spite of their high output voltage capability, series-connected panels are expensive, have low conversion efficiency, and require bigger DC/DC converters. Most power extraction technologies are applied in order for solar panels to provide the maximum amount of energy. Abstract

An enhanced power quality in a supply network with lower switch voltage stress and higher efficiency are the goals of this research, which presents a PFC converter fed PMBLDCM (Permanent Magnet Brushless Direct Current Motor). Boost and Zeta PFC converter are used in conjunction with a single switch in this one-stage architecture. Both converters are designed to operate with minimal switch stress in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). Voltage follower control is used to provide intrinsic power factor correction (PFC) at the input supply by adjusting the PFC's DC link voltage. By controlling the PFC output voltage (VDC) with an auxiliary winding voltage (Vawg), the variable speed may be achieved without the need of a DC link voltage sensor. With these strategies, the total system is less prone to harmonic distortion, making it more cost-effective and simple. Hall Effect sensors are used to create electronic commutation and the voltage source inverter (VSI) is switched at a fundamental frequency, which reduces switching losses in the VSI. It is necessary to verify the design by simulating the BLDCM performance in a MATLAB environment. For the universal RMS input supply, this topology's power quality performance is determined to correspond to the IEC 61000-3-2 worldwide harmonic standard. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Brushless Direct Current Motor (BLDCM) has been widely utilized in many research areas since it has a simple structure, low-cost, high competence and great performance characteristics. This paper presents a new control technique based PID controller for speed control and the torque ripple reduction of BLDC motor. For improving the performance characteristics such as speed as well as torque control loop operation, an Ageist Spider Monkey Optimization (ASMO) algorithm based modified Landsman converter is proposed. ASMO algorithm is developed to achieve the optimal gain parameters of the PID controller by optimizing the speed and torque error of the BLDC drive. The merits of the proposed approach are robust performance, expanded degree of dependability and adaptability in order to solve the system error. The upgraded proposed framework is effectuated via MATLAB/Simulink. The outcomes of the proposed strategy are investigated and are compared individually to current strategies, such as, Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) and CFA (Cuttlefish Algorithm).

Abstract

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is the fourth leading cause of death worldwide and the only chronic disease with increasing mortality rates. Progression of the disease is irreversible but can be stabilized or prevented by quitting. If COPD is detected earlier, the formation of lung cancer is prevented. In CT scan may provide additional information and also it provides more detailed images of parts of the body that cannot easily be seen on a standard chest radiograph. But the automatic screening process has lot of advantages such as decrease of labor, enhancing the sensitivity of the test and better precision in diagnosis by increasing the images that can be analyzed by the computer. Many researchers have proposed different techniques to improve the performance of automatic screening process. This paper involves in improving the accuracy over the existing technique using the adaptive region growing property and Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) classifier. Initially, pre-processing is carried out for the input image by Laplacian Gaussian filtering technique to make the image suitable for further processing. The contours of the image will be obtained using region growing technique. The ELM classifier is then used to confirm the suspected TB cavities. The classification will be carried out by the features which have been taken from the segmented image. The proposed technique is implemented in MATLAB and the performance is compared with the existing technique. 39. Effect of SAR on human head modeling inside cylindrical enclosures.

Abstract

This study intends to discuss enclosed a realistic approach to determine and analyze the effects of radio frequency on human exposure inside a cylindrical enclosure. A scenario in which a mobile phone with inverted-F antenna (IFA) operating in the Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) band (900 MHz) is used inside a cylindrical enclosure. Metallic enclosures are known to have resonance and reflection effects, thereby increasing electric field strength and hence resulting in a change of the human exposure to electromagnetic absorptions. So, this study examines and compares the levels of absorption in terms of specific absorption rate (SAR) values under various conditions. In this study, a human phantom with dielectric properties is designed and its interaction is studied with IFA inside fully enclosed cylindrical enclosures. The results show that SAR values are increased inside cylindrical enclosures compared with those in free space. The method of computation uses method of moments. Simulations are done in FEKO software.
