Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) has gained popularity due to its speed and cost-effectiveness. However, the current knowledge on the cyclic deformation behaviour of WAAM materials is limited. To address this issue, this study investigates the cyclic deformation behaviour of WAAM ER70S-6 carbon steel. Coupons were extracted from printed walls with horizontal and vertical orientations and from surface and interior locations. Low-cycle fatigue tests were performed under fully reversed strain-controlled conditions, spanning strain amplitudes from 0.20 % to 1.50 %. Regardless of the group, the material exhibited cyclic hardening for strain amplitudes above 0.60 % and cyclic softening for smaller strain amplitudes. Significant non-Masing hysteretic behaviour was also observed. Cyclic stress–strain curves and fatigue-life relationships written in terms of stress, strain and energy-based parameters were derived for all groups. Fatigue life was not significantly influenced by printing orientation or location across thickness. However, horizontal orientation resulted in a slightly superior fatigue response. A statistical analysis revealed no significant difference in the accuracy of fatigue-life relationships between the groups. Finally, a comparative study between WAAM materials and conventional steels showed promising results. Yet, conventional steels outperform WAAM carbon steel, at least doubling the fatigue life for the same value of the damage parameter., Steel & Composite Structures

En aquest TFE es realitzarà un estudi i una prova de concepte sobre un sistema de control de bateries basat en comunicació sense fils. En aquest estudi es determinarà l'estat actual en el mercat d'aquesta aproximació al control de bateries, les tecnologies actuals que han estat provades, les limitacions d'aquestes i la final decisió d'utilitzar la comunicació ESP NOW per la prova de concepte. Aquesta prova de concepte es durà a terme mitjançant dos microcontroladors ESP-32-S3, un esclau i un mestre, que es comunicaran entre si amb el protocol ESP NOW basat en Wi-Fi, per revelar les limitacions i els problemes d’aquests tipus de comunicació. L’esclau es comunicarà amb monitor de cel·les LT6811, mitjançant el protocol de comunicació SPI, i enviarà les dades al mestre per a que puguin ser monitorades. Finalment s’exposarà els punts febles d’aquesta prova de concepte i es descriuran possibles millores a fer. Aquest estudi revelarà els avantatges i els inconvenients d'aquesta tecnologia i remarcarà quins aspectes són els més importants per una bona implementació d'aquesta tecnologia del futur., En este TFE se realizará un estudio y una prueba de concepto sobre un sistema de control de baterías basado en comunicación inalámbricas. En este estudio se determinará el estado actual en el mercado de esta aproximación al control de baterías, las tecnologías actuales que han sido probadas, las limitaciones de estas y la final decisión de utilizar la comunicación ESP NOW por la prueba de concepto. Esta prueba de concepto se llevará a cabo mediante dos microcontroladores ESP-32-S3, un esclavo y un maestro, que se comunicarán entre sí con el protocolo ESP NOW basado en Wi-Fi, para revelar las limitaciones y los problemas de estos tipos de comunicación. El esclavo se comunicará con monitor de celdas LT6811, mediante el protocolo de comunicación SPI, y enviará los datos al maestro para que puedan ser monitorizadas. Finalmente se expondrá los puntos débiles de esta prueba de concepto y se describirán posibles mejoras a hacer. Este estudio revelará las ventajas y los inconvenientes de esta tecnología y remarcará qué aspectos son los más importantes por una buena implementación de esta tecnología del futuro., This TFE will carry out a study and proof of concept on a wireless battery control system. This study will determine the current state of the market of this approach to battery control, the current technologies that have been tested, the limitations of these and the final decision to use ESP NOW communication for the proof of concept. This proof of concept will be carried out using two ESP-32-S3 microcontrollers, a slave and a master, who will communicate with each other with the Wi-Fi-based ESP NOW protocol, to reveal the limitations and problems of these types of communication. The slave will communicate with LT6811 cell monitor, using the SPI communication protocol, and send the data to the master via ESP NOW for data monitoring. Finally, the weaknesses of this proof of concept will be set out and possible improvements will be described. This study will reveal the advantages and drawbacks of this technology and highlight what aspects are most important for a good implementation of this technology of the future.
