This bachelor thesis explores the connection between the image of the president in the Ukrainian TV series Servant of the People and the real presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelenskyy, because it was him who played the role of the president in the aforementioned TV show. The aim is to find out whether the film character Vasyl Goloborodko had the potential to contribute to Zelenskyy's election campaign and to what extent the examined figures coincide and differ. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the phenomenon of the television series, the Servant of the People series itself, specifically the plot, cast, audience response and criticism of the series in relation to Zelenskyy's candidacy in the elections, and also introduces the connection between celebrities and politics, explaining the concept of celebrity politician and its academic categorization. The research part examines the figure of Vasyl Goloborodko in selected episodes of the series and Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the video content of his election campaign through qualitative content analysis. The thesis examines the shades of impacts that Chinese workplace reality shows have on audiences drawn from different backgrounds and demographic linings. A typical Chinese workplace reality show entitled, An Exciting Offer is privileged as an exemplar in this research while the survey research method is used as an analytical tool. An Exciting Offer is specifically chosen because it connects uniquely with the workforce. Interesting questions like, "Should I resign naked at the age of 30?", and "Can unmarried women without children gain a job in the workplace?" which are regular catchers on the show make it an Internet darling for many. A questionnaire survey was done and after data collection, the SPSS statistical software was deployed to analyze the information utilizing a univariate ANOVA transcript. The findings from questions streaming from demographic variables like gender, age, educational background, employment status, and occupation show that while workplace reality shows are likely to have significant impact on some groups, its impact on others are either minimal, insignificant or null. This bachelor's thesis explores gender stereotypes in the context of television commercials broadcasted by selected Czech commercial television stations. The author aims to define the conventional stereotypical roles in which men and women are portrayed in advertising spots and to evaluate the potential progress in their media representation. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on key concepts that are necessary to understand the topic, such as gender, sex, gender identity, gender roles, and gender stereotypes. The practical part of the thesis consists of a semiotic analysis following the approach of Roland Barthes and Erving Goffman.

This thesis examines the types of characters appearing on dating reality TV shows. Based on qualitative research, it tries to examine whether certain types of participants appear in this genre, if they are repeated and therefore it is possible to classify them into a certain type. The theoretical part of the work deals with emotionality in RTV, the commodification of emotions and also approaches this genre through its history and the circumstances of its creation. In the methodological part of the thesis, Zygmunt Bauman's typology of postmodern personalities is presented and is later used in the interpretation of the types that have arisen. Further, the applied research method of grounded theory is described. In the practical part of the thesis, the research itself is described, which is then related to Bauman's typology, the individual types that have arisen are described, and the concept of emodity is also taken into account when interpreting the data.

This diploma thesis deals with Czech podcasts focused on visual arts. The first part of the thesis introduces podcasting and mapps the state of the local podcasting scene. In this part, basic terms related to the topic are explained. The second part of the thesis is focused on quantitative content analysis of the selected podcasts. The analysis will answer the question of similarities in the content - what format is usually used, what is the most common topic and to which topics are given the most space. The analysis will be accompanied with the additional part which will be based on five interviews with podcasters. Besides other things, the interviews will help us to understand the actual process of creating a podcast and thus will help to interpret the results of the content analysis.

This bachelor 's thesis deals with the presence of sexism in the TV show Your face sounds familiar broadcast by TV Nova. The examined show Your face sounds familiar belongs to the genre of Reality TV, which will be described with its brief history in the thesis. The thesis will also introduce other concepts such as sexism, objectification theory and gender stereotypes. The thesis will provide a brief description of the show Your face sounds familiar. The practical part of the thesis is a qualitative analysis of media content for the study of television news according of E. E. Fields. This analysis will be conducted in seven stages. The aim of the qualitative analysis is to find out if sexism appears in the Czech reality show Your face sounds familiar, if so, what extent it occurs and who is the most frequent initiator.

This diploma thesis deals with the formation of hatred towards the participants of the reality TV shows MasterChef Czechia and Married at First Sight. Specifically, the focus is on whether the shows and the participants in them have the potential to evoke this emotion among their viewers. The theoretical part deals with the relationship between television and the Internet environment, where this emotion can be subsequently stirred up within groups on discussion forums or social networks. It also defines the genre of reality TV into which are the TV shows included, and in the end defines hatred and other emotions that are closely related to it. Based on the findings from the literature, the characteristics that can potentially lead to the emotion under discussion are then identified. These traits are central to the subsequent determination of the research questions. In the research part, one particular series at a time (both were broadcast during 2020) is then qualitatively analysed for both TV shows, also there is the portrayal of all their main participants, with a particular focus on finding defined traits with the potential to provoke hatred. Women in parliament long seem to be limited to addressing only certain topics and issues - mostly those that have a 'female-centric' focus. This perspective has been backed by the idea that being women, they are more empathetic, compassionate, honest and liberal. This gives them a better insight into what females want and they are therefore better equipped to address these issues compared to their male counterparts. It is my perspective that female politicians should be looked at beyond this limited scope and addressed as legislators who represent the voice of all people and not only a specific demographic. Using the grounded theory through an exploratory case study method, this thesis focuses on Mahua Moitra and the speeches she made in the Lok Sabha in 2020- 2021. Through this analysis, the thesis gathers what she has contributed to the developing narrative of female political representation in India. Qualitative research thesis explores the topic of online privacy, adding a gender perspective to the existing body of knowledge. Based on a thematic analysis of interviews with fifteen men and fifteen women, it provides insights into the gender specificities of the perception of privacy on Instagram social network. Social networks, privacy and related gender aspects are first discussed from a theoretical perspective. The methodological part then presents the chosen methods for conducting the actual research. Presented in the analytical part, the results of the analysis of the data from the qualitative interviews provide an understanding of which topics women and men perceive as personal and what strategies they adopt to protect and regulate their privacy. Furthermore, they describe how men and women perceive the privacy threats and the audience of their Instagram profiles. Finally, insights into what they themselves claim to influence their attitudes on these topics are also included. The diploma thesis "Media Representation of Female Doctors' Status in the Czech Republic" focuses on how the media reflects the trend of feminization in medicine. It discusses what aspects affecting the female doctors' status are accentuated by the media and whether the media representation of female doctors' status in mainstream and professional media differs. Indeed, surveys show that female doctors in the Czech Republic face discrimination due to persistent negative stereotypes about the unsuitability of women particularly in surgical fields. They are disadvantaged due to the assumption of pregnancy and career interruption due to motherhood (Stieranková & Veselská, 2020). Using grounded theory (Strauss & Corbinová, 1999), this study qualitatively analyzes articles dealing comprehensively with female doctors' status in the Czech Republic. It takes into consideration articles that have appeared in Czech mainstream and professional media in printed or electronic versions approximately over the last eleven years. The topic of presented bachelor thesis is fashion in meaning of queer identity on Instagram. The aim of this thesis is to make use of interviews to see how queer influencers and queer Instagram users observe the communication of fashion on this social platform. This thesis consits of two parts. Theoretical part includes the definition of fashion, its functions, symbols and meanings and engages in questions of gender context of fashion. It talks about femininity, masculinity, androgyny fashion and discusses fashion on social media and an individual's identity in online space. It approaches terms such as queer or cyberspace. The theoretical part of presented thesis proceeds from the performative theory of Judith Butler. The empirical part consists of introduction of the aim of research and further talks about its methodology. The analysis of semi-structured interviews follows. Based on interviews provided by our interviewees, we move on to answering our partial research questions and to answer our central research question. Finally, we draw conclusions and interpret them.
