Başörtülü olmak yalnızca bireysel dini bir davranış olmayıp sosyal, kültürel ve politik yaşantılarla da bağlantılıdır. Başörtüsünü takma veya çıkarma kararı vermek de tamamen bireyin öznel kararı olmayıp yine bu yaşantıların uzantısı olabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada önceden başörtülü olan kadınların başörtüsünü çıkarma kararı verirken sosyal, kültürel ve politik yaşantılarıyla da bağlantılı olarak karar verme süreçlerinde yaşadıkları bilişsel çelişkileri nasıl giderdikleri sorusuna cevap aranmaktadır. Çalışmada örneklem olarak “yalnizyürümeyeceksin.com” isimli çevrimiçi platforma 01.01.2020-01.03.2020 tarihleri arasında gönderilen 63 mektup seçilmiştir. Bu mektuplara içerik analizi yöntemi uygulanarak bulgulara ulaşılmıştır. Paylaşılan mektuplar incelendiğinde başörtüsünü kullanmak istememe (1.biliş) ve başörtülü olma (2. biliş) arasındaki tutarsızlığın bireylerde hoşnutsuzluktan depresyona kadar çeşitli düzeylerde rahatsızlık uyandırdığı görülmektedir. Bu rahatsızlığın giderilmesi için başörtüsünü açma davranışını gerçekleştirme sürecinde bireylerin kıyafetlerde ve yaşam tarzında sekülerleşme (tutarlı biliş ekleme), dış dünyadan soyutlanma (çelişkiyi azaltma), ailenin dini yaşantısını yeterli görmeme (tutarlı biliş ekleme), ailenin baskıcı tutumlarını ön plana çıkarma (çelişkiyi azaltma), ekonomik bağımsızlık kazanma (tutarlı biliş ekleme), aileden ayrı yaşama (tutarlı biliş ekleme), dinin diğer gereklerini yerine getirmediğini ifade etme (tutarlı biliş ekleme) yöntemleriyle yaşadıkları bilişsel çelişkiyi gidermeye çalıştıkları görülmüştür. İçerik analizinden elde edilen sonuçlardan biri de bireylerin bir kısmının yalnızca dini tutum ve davranış değişikliği değil dinden ayrılmayı da tecrübe etmiş olmasıdır. Başörtüsünün sembolize ettiği grup kimliğine ait hissetmeme de öne çıkan bir başka temadır. Bunların yanında inancını yitirmediği halde başörtüsünün anlamını yitirdiğini ifade edenler ve sadece örtünmek zor geldiği için örtünmeyi reddedenlerin de olduğu görülmektedir.

Wearing a headscarf is not only a personal worship but it is related to social, cultural, and political experiences. Therefore, wearing or taking off a headscarf may not be a free decision of an individual. This study tries to find some answers to how women eliminate their cognitive dissonances in the process of taking off headscarf considering its links with social, cultural, and political experiences. In this study, 63 online letters that were published on the "yalnizyürümeyeceksin.com" website between 01.01.2020 and 01.03.2020 are chosen to be the sample. I applied content analysis to these documents. In the light of this analysis, I found that the dissonance between not wanting to wear the headscarf (1st cognition) and being hijabi (2nd cognition) can be a reason for a series of disturbances from discontentment to depression. As a result, to eliminate this dissonance, the individuals may try to use these methods to reduce the dissonance: secularizing both with the clothes and the style of living (adding supportive cognition), alienating from the World (reducing the dissonance), describing religious life of their own family inadequate (adding supporting cognitions), emphasizing family's oppressive attitudes (reducing the dissonance), getting economic independence (adding supportive cognition), having a separate house from family (adding supportive cognition) and, confirming that they do not perform other religious obligations either (adding supportive cognition). One of our findings is that some individuals not only change their attitude about headscarves but also experience the conversion. Another prominent theme in the findings is some women start to feel that they do not belong the group that headscarf implies they belong to. La excavación del sepulcro de El Miradero, fechado en el Neolítico Final, deparó el hallazgo de una serie de evidencias relativas al mundo de las creencias sobre cuya transcendencia reflexionamos en este trabajo. Por un lado están las espátulas de hueso y las vasijas macizas que se asocian al uso de sustancias alteradoras de la conciencia. Por otro analizamos la formación de la costra calcárea que selló el sepulcro y las propias características de los restos que quedaron conservados bajo ella.The excavation of the tomb of El Miradero, dating from the Late Neolithic, threw up the discovery of a body of evidences relating to the beliefs’ field whose transcendence is reflected in this work. On one side there are bone spatulas and massive pots that are associated with the use of consciousness-altering substances. Furthermore we analyze the formation of the limestone crust that sealed the tomb and the characteristics of the burials preserved under it.

Emerging adulthood is a life stage in which the frequency of religious behaviours often wanes while the risk of mental illness, substance abuse, and risky sexual behaviour increases. The current study explores the role that religious behaviours might play in mitigating these risks among college-attending emerging adults. Survey data were collected on religious service attendance, prayer and meditation, substance use, sexual activity, and life satisfaction. Results revealed a significant effect for religious service attendance on substance use and sexual behaviour and for the frequency of prayer/meditation on life satisfaction, marijuana use, and sexual intercourse. Group comparisons revealed that emerging adults who participated in religious activities reported lower rates of substance use, less sexual behaviour, and greater satisfaction with life. Abstract: The Religious Life Inventory (RLI: Batson & Schoenrade, 1991) was designed to assess the extrinsic, intrinsic and quest orientations of religiosity and doubts have been expressed in the literature about its psychometric properties. An evaluation of the scale’s performance with a large sample of young adults of varying religious affiliations or none has shown that the instrument is not susceptible to confirmatory factor analysis. Several items that appear to have little discriminative ability and others that are ambiguous with respect to the orientations they are intended to represent have been identified. The structure suggested by an exploratory factor analysis has been subjected to sequential confirmatory factor analyses and a revised model has been developed which meets a variety of goodness of fit criteria and remains consistent with the original three-factor structure of the RLI. The Revised Religious Life Inventory, RLI-R, includes 24 of the original 32 items, and demonstrated improved scale reliability for the quest orientation and an unchanged reliability for the intrinsic orientation. A comparison of the original and revised instruments with respect to the frequency of church attendance and personal prayer, and religious affiliation suggests that the RLI-R is an improved instrument for future studies of religious orientation.
