AbstractFine-grained coral soil, prevalent in tropical shallow marine environments, demonstrates significant potential as a natural engineering material. This study presents laboratory experiments employing digital image technology to investigate the effects of soil layer thickness and interface roughness on its cracking characteristics. By analyzing soil particle displacement during the cracking process, we examined the relationship between particle movement and the observed macroscopic crack patterns. The results indicate that both interface roughness and soil thickness substantially influence crack development and morphology. Increased interface roughness accelerates the cracking rate and transforms the pattern from overall contraction to multi-directional expansion, resulting in dense crack networks. Thinner soil layers facilitate more intricate crack formations, whereas thicker layers lead to more pronounced settling, longer and wider cracks, reduced horizontal cracking, and a simplified overall cracking pattern. This study elucidates the impact of interface roughness and soil layer thickness on the cracking behavior of fine-grained coral soil, providing valuable insights for its potential engineering applications. This study was aimed at exploring the dynamic evolution characteristics of desiccation cracking in fiber-improved fine-grained coral soil, with a focus on the effects of layer thickness and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fiber (vinylon staple fibers) content. Through desiccation cracking tests and image processing technology, the evaporative water-loss characteristics, change in crack parameters, fractal dimension, crack propagation velocities, and morphological distribution of the fine-grained coral soil were obtained. The dynamic evolution law of cracks under the coupling effect of layer thickness and fiber content was acquired. The multiscale characteristics of soil macroscopic, mesoscopic, and microscopic cracks were determined. The PVA fibers exhibited good adhesion to the soil particles and played a bridging role in the multiscale cracks in the fine-grained coral soil. However, the presence of the fibers also led to the generation of finer microscopic cracks. In addition, the crack evolution mechanism and cracking criterion in fine-grained coral soil under the coupling effect of PVA fiber and layer thickness were elucidated. As vehicular technology advances, intelligent vehicles generate numerous computation‐intensive tasks, challenging the computational resources of both the vehicles and the Internet of Vehicles (IoV). Traditional IoV struggles with fixed network structures and limited scalability, unable to meet the growing computational demands and next‐generation mobile communication technologies. In congested areas, near‐end Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) resources are often overtaxed, while far‐end MEC servers are underused, resulting in poor service quality. A novel network framework utilizing sixth‐generation mobile communication (6G) and digital twin technologies, combined with task migration, promises to alleviate these inefficiencies. To address these challenges, a task migration and re‐offloading model based on task attribute classification is introduced, employing a hybrid deep reinforcement learning (DRL) algorithm—Dueling Double Q Network DDPG (QDPG). This algorithm merges the strengths of the Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (DDPG) and the Dueling Double Deep Q‐Network (D3QN), effectively handling continuous and discrete action domains to optimize task migration and re‐offloading in IoV. The inclusion of the Mini Batch K‐Means algorithm enhances learning efficiency and optimization in the DRL algorithm. The contemporary global crises concerning clean energy, carbon emission, and water shortage necessitate the creation of innovative materials that can tackle these pressing issues. Addressing these urgent concerns requires a deeper understanding of advanced materials and their versatile chemistry. Despite this, the advancement of material platforms to address these challenges remains formidable. In this respect, reticular chemistry offers an approach to systematically assemble molecular building blocks into crystalline frameworks, enabling precise control over their chemical composition, structure, porosity, and functionality, ultimately leading to the desired properties. Herein, the usage of metal‐organic frameworks and covalent organic frameworks are examined in terms of gaseous fuel storage, carbon capture, and water harvesting, highlighting their potential for addressing critical global challenges. Representative examples are evaluated through the lens of reticular chemistry, with an emphasis on exploring the relationship between their structures and properties. Finally, an extensive overview of the rapidly expanding field is provided, along with a summary and forecast of the current challenges and prospective research directions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Polymeric functional materials are widely used in all aspects of everyday life. However, they are subject to a variety of environmental influences such as chemical attack, mechanical abrasion or impact and thermal decomposition, resulting in a significant shortening of the service life of polymer materials. Using traditional repair methods, the damaged part of the material is only reattached or reinforced at a macro level. Currently, more and more research is focused on smart composite materials with self-healing properties. This eliminates hidden problems in the use of the material, thereby extending its service life and broadening the range of applications. The Diels-Alder (DA) reaction is a [4+2] cycloaddition reaction between a conjugated diene and a substituted alkene. It has become a hot research topic in the field of self-healing due to its mild reaction conditions and lack of catalyst. In this paper, the progress of research on self-healing polymeric materials is reviewed with a focus on applications in DA reactions. The research progress in this field is reviewed based on the chemical structures of the prepared DA reaction-based polymers, and the development of DA reaction based self-healing polymers is investigated. Finally, the development of selfhealing polymers based on DA reactions is given as an outlook.
