Iron telluride-selenium superconducting materials, known for their non-toxicity, ease of preparation, simple structure, and high upper critical fields, have attracted much research interest in practical application. In this work, we conducted electrical transport measurements, magneto-optical imaging, and AC magnetic susceptibility measurements on FeTe$_{0.5}$Se$_{0.5}$ superconducting long tapes fabricated via reel-to-reel pulsed laser deposition. Our transport measurements revealed a high critical current density that remains relatively stable even with increasing external magnetic fields, reaching over $1\times 10^5$ A/cm$^2$ at 8 K and 9 T. The calculated pinning force density indicates that normal point pinning is the primary mechanism in these tapes. The magneto-optical images demonstrated that the tapes show homogeneous superconductivity and uniform distribution of critical current density. The AC magnetic susceptibility measurements also confirmed their strong flux pinning nature of withstanding high magnetic field. Based on these characteristics, FeTe$_{0.5}$Se$_{0.5}$ superconducting tapes show promising prospects for applications under high magnetic fields., Comment: 20 pages, 14 figures

Coherence is intrinsically related to projective measurement. When the fixed projective measurement involves higher-rank projectors, the coherence resource is referred to as block coherence, which comes from the superposition of orthogonal subspaces. Here, we establish a set of quantitative relations for the interconversion between block coherence and multipartite entanglement under the framework of the block-incoherent operations. It is found that the converted multipartite entanglement is upper bounded by the initial block coherence of single-party system. Moreover, the generated multipartite entanglement can be transferred to its subsystems and restored to block coherence of the initial single-party system by means of local block-incoherent operations and classical communication. In addition, when only the coarse-grained quantum operations are accessible for the ancillary subsystems, we further demonstrate that a lossless resource interconversion is still realizable, and give a concrete example in three four-level systems. Our results provide a versatile approach to utilize different quantum resources in a cyclic fashion.

We demonstrate that the dynamics of quantum coherence serves as an effective probe for identifying dephasing, which is a distinctive signature of many-body localization (MBL). Quantum coherence can be utilized to measure both the local coherence of specific subsystems and the total coherence of the whole system in a consistent manner. Our results reveal that the local coherence of small subsystems decays over time following a power law in the MBL phase, while it reaches a stable value within the same time window in the Anderson localized (AL) phase. In contrast, the total coherence of the whole system exhibits logarithmic growth during the MBL phase and reaches a stable value in the AL phase. Notably, this dynamic characteristic of quantum coherence remains robust even with weak interactions and displays unbounded behavior in infinite systems. Our results provide insights into understanding many-body dephasing phenomena in MBL systems and propose a novel feasible method for identifying and characterizing MBL phases in experiments.

Deep Metric Learning (DML) has long attracted the attention of the machine learning community as a key objective. Existing solutions concentrate on fine-tuning the pre-trained models on conventional image datasets. As a result of the success of recent pre-trained models trained from larger-scale datasets, it is challenging to adapt the model to the DML tasks in the local data domain while retaining the previously gained knowledge. In this paper, we investigate parameter-efficient methods for fine-tuning the pre-trained model for DML tasks. In particular, we propose a novel and effective framework based on learning Visual Prompts (VPT) in the pre-trained Vision Transformers (ViT). Based on the conventional proxy-based DML paradigm, we augment the proxy by incorporating the semantic information from the input image and the ViT, in which we optimize the visual prompts for each class. We demonstrate that our new approximations with semantic information are superior to representative capabilities, thereby improving metric learning performance. We conduct extensive experiments to demonstrate that our proposed framework is effective and efficient by evaluating popular DML benchmarks. In particular, we demonstrate that our fine-tuning method achieves comparable or even better performance than recent state-of-the-art full fine-tuning works of DML while tuning only a small percentage of total parameters., Comment: Published in ICLR 2024

Deep Metric Learning (DML) plays an important role in modern computer vision research, where we learn a distance metric for a set of image representations. Recent DML techniques utilize the proxy to interact with the corresponding image samples in the embedding space. However, existing proxy-based DML methods focus on learning individual proxy-to-sample distance while the overall distribution of samples and proxies lacks attention. In this paper, we present a novel proxy-based DML framework that focuses on aligning the sample and proxy distributions to improve the efficiency of proxy-based DML losses. Specifically, we propose the Data-Augmented Domain Adaptation (DADA) method to adapt the domain gap between the group of samples and proxies. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first to leverage domain adaptation to boost the performance of proxy-based DML. We show that our method can be easily plugged into existing proxy-based DML losses. Our experiments on benchmarks, including the popular CUB-200-2011, CARS196, Stanford Online Products, and In-Shop Clothes Retrieval, show that our learning algorithm significantly improves the existing proxy losses and achieves superior results compared to the existing methods., Comment: Accepted by AAAI 2024

Our first main result is that every finite-dimensional Hopf algebra that inner faithfully acts on a given \pi_2-injective vertex algebra must be a group algebra. We investigate multipartite quantum correlation (MQC), spatially anisotropic coupling, and finite temperature effects in a triangular Ising system with tunable interactions using the exact diagonalization method. We demonstrate that spatially anisotropic coupling serves as an effective means to modulate MQC in the antiferromagnetic ground state, which is achievable with current experimental technologies. Moreover, we explore the interplay between MQC and spatially anisotropic coupling in the Ising system at finite temperatures. Our findings reveal a three-way trade-off relationship among high MQC, robust thermal stability, and anisotropic strength in the triangular Ising system with antiferromagnetic interactions, though the MQC in the ferromagnetic case is quite susceptible to temperature changes. The clarity of nights is the major factor that should be carefully considered for optical/infrared astronomical observatories in site-testing campaigns. Cloud coverage is directly related to the amount of time available for scientific observations at observatories. In this article, we report on the results of detailed night-time cloud statistics and continuous observing me derived from ground-based all-sky cameras at the Muztagh-ata site from 2017 to 2021. Results obtained from acquisition data show that the proportion of the annual observing me at the Muztagh-ata site is 65%, and the best period with the least cloud coverage and longer continuous observing time is from September to February. We made a comparison of the monthly mean observing nights obtained from our all-sky cameras and CLARA dataset, results show that the discrepancy between them may depend on the cloud top heights. On average, this site can provide 175 clear nights and 169 nights with at least 4 hours of continuous observing time per year., Comment: 11 pages, 9 figures

Assume that ${\cal S}$ is a finite set of inequivalent irreducible $\sigma$-twisted $V$-modules such that ${\cal S}$ is invariant under the action of $G$. Then there is a finite dimensional semisimple associative algebra ${\cal A}_{\alpha}(G,{\cal S})$ for a suitable $2$-cocycle $\alpha$ naturally determined by the $G$-action on ${\cal S}$ such that $({\cal A}_{\alpha}(G,{\cal S}),V^G)$ form a dual pair on the sum $\cal M$ of $\sigma$-twisted $V$-modules in ${\cal S}$ in the sense that (1) the actions of ${\cal A}_{\alpha}(G,{\cal S})$ and $V^G$ on $\cal M$ commute, (2) each irreducible ${\cal A}_{\alpha}(G,{\cal S})$-module appears in $\cal M,$ (3) the multiplicity space of each irreducible ${\cal A}_{\alpha}(G,{\cal S})$-module is an irreducible $V^G$-module, (4) the multiplicitiy spaces of different irreducible ${\cal A}_{\alpha}(G,{\cal S})$-modules are inequivalent $V^G$-modules. As applications, every irreducible $\sigma$-twisted $V$-module is a direct sum of finitely many irreducible $V^G$-modules and irreducible $V^G$-modules appearing in different $G$-orbits are inequivalent. We present the generalized state-dependent entropic uncertainty relations in multiple measurements setting, and the optimal lower bound is obtained by considering different measurement sequences. We then apply this uncertainty relation to witness entanglement, and give the experimentally accessible lower bounds on both bipartite and tripartite entanglements. This method of detecting entanglement is applied to a physical system of two particles on a one-dimensional lattice, and GHZ-Werner state. It is shown that, for measurements that are not in mutually unbiased bases, this new entropic uncertainty relation is superior to the previous state-independent one in entanglement detection. Furthermore, we conduct an online experiment to detect multipartite entanglement of GHZ states up to 10 qubits on Quafu cloud quantum computation platform.
