- Abstract
Introduction. In Peru, municipal solid waste in 2021 reached 8,215,355.9 tons and only 61.28 % is disposed of in sanitary landfills to be treated through composting; however, its implementation is deficient and requires studies to obtain a usable product as a substrate or amendment and reduce environmental pollution. Objective. The study determined the levels of nutrients, heavy metals, fecal microorganisms, and the quality of compost based on solid urban organic waste produced at the Shapajilla Valorization Plant in the Leoncio Prado province of Peru. Materials and methods . Four piles of organic solid waste were composted and evaluated for nutrients, heavy metals, fecal microorganisms, and quality based on Chilean Standard 2880 and Spanish Standard 824. Results. 95 % of the composted materials were food waste, fruit and peelings, and there were no differences between the piles evaluated. During processing, the temperature reached the different stages and the pH increased. High pH levels (>7.50) and low levels of Ca, Mg and K (< 1 %) were found; heavy metals presented differences and low levels, with absence of microorganisms of fecal origin, and the composts were of intermediate quality (B). Conclusions. The compost produced is of intermediate quality, free of metals and pathogenic microorganisms, and can be used as a substrate or amendment with some limitations, due to the high pH levels and low levels of Ca, Mg and K., Introducción.

- Abstract
The research evaluated the effect of conventional management of irrigated rice on the physicochemical indicators of the soil, in the Mercedes and Pérez farms, in Yurimaguas, Peru. It is a comparative non-experimental investigation, with statistical adjustment of a completely randomized design, where the treatments are made up of the secondary forest (BS), the conventional rice management of one (A1), five (A5) and nine years (A9), evaluating physicochemical indicators of the soil in strata from 0.0 to 0.2 and 0.2 to 0.4 m. The results showed differences in the fractions, with initial reduction of sand, silt and clay increase and in time slight recovery of the sand, silt fraction and clay reduction. The chemical indicators according to treatments and strata show differences, except K; management significantly affects the beginning of the production process (A1) reducing the levels of pH, MO, N, P, K+, Ca2+ and Mg2+ and increasing Al3+, AC and SAl, and there is a recovery over time (A9), except in MO and N which decrease to very low levels. In conclusion, conventional management shows significant effects between treatments and indicators evaluated in both strata, negatively affecting the beginning (A1) and recovering over time (A9); however, there are long-term negative effects on OM and N levels., La investigación evaluó el efecto del manejo convencional del arroz bajo riego en indicadores fisicoquímicos del suelo, en los fundos Mercedes y Pérez, en Yurimaguas, Perú.

Plantain is the most important crop for the Peruvian Amazonian population, developed in recent alluvial soils rich in nutrients, but fragile and susceptible to degradation. Therefore, the impact of permanent cultivation was evaluated, through modelling, on indicators of recent alluvial soil quality and production in plantations of Musa paradisiaca L. var. Harton, in the Aguaytia River valley, Peru. The treatments were areas with permanent plantain plantations of 2 (T0), 15 (T1), 4 (T2), and 5 (T3) years of management, evaluating soil physicochemical indicators and plantain production indicators. The results show significant differences for all yield and soil indicators evaluated, except for bulk density (Bd), clay fraction, soil organic matter (OM) and N. The modelling determined a significant positive impact on Bd and a significant negative impact on pH, P, pseudostem diameter and height, commercial fingers and bunch weight. In conclusion, the modelling shows trends of quality and yield reduction in 15 years of permanent management of plantain Var. Harton, and compromises the sustainability of the agroecosystem in the medium term. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The research was carried out in the Tingo María National Park and aimed to identify the determinants of the economic value of ecotourism, generated by “Cueva de las Lechuzas”. In order to verify the hypothesis that the socioeconomic aspects and the choice of the environmental services of visitors influence the economic value of ecotourism, a survey was carried out. A binary-choice microeconometric model was estimated, to determine the convenience of entry payment to the tourist attraction, achieving to establish that both socioeconomic aspects and environmental services influence the intention of payment. Regarding the characteristics of environmental services choice, it was found that the main reason to visit to this important resource, corresponds to the invitation of a friend and / or family member who previously visited the area. Regarding the destination of the visit, most respondents agree that the Cueva de las Lechuzas visit is not the only destination.
