Adaptive streaming over HTTP is the dominant video streaming technology for more than a decade. HTTP Adaptive Streaming (HAS) systems provide a framework which enables clients to adapt quality with respect to network fluctuations during streaming, hence to optimize the perceived quality on the client side. Recently, network assistance is integrated with HAS in order to improve underlying network conditions and to provide network-related information to the clients. The performance of HAS systems can be further enhanced if the characteristics of the streamed video are considered. In this paper, we propose a HAS system architecture where Software Defined Networking (SDN) technology is utilized for assisting clients to select the most appropriate video codec and bitrate under the constraint of current network conditions as well as routing the video packet over the appropriate paths. In the proposed architecture, layered video is used, where each additional layer improves the quality. The controller estimates the packet loss probability by taking video codec characteristics, the bitrates of the layers and network capacity into account. Based on these estimations, the controller selects the appropriate codec type and video quality for the clients and manage the network. As being one of the popular technology in video streaming area, HTTP adaptive video streaming systems can benefit from the emerging network technologies such as SDN and NFV. Such multimedia systems require the management of network resources efficiently to be able to provide acceptable service. In this paper, we propose a multimedia service management architecture that focuses on migration one of the most crucial components of such systems, virtualized caches. SDN controller gathers underlay network statistics and based on real-time network condition determines the optimal location for virtual cache and/or migrate it when network conditions change. We focus on hand-off affects the perceptual quality when clients migrate from one cache to another. The proposed approach was evaluated using the Mininet Emulator and its performance was given comparatively. Network assisted approaches have been proposed and are being standardized in order to provide high QoE for the end users of such applications. SAND is a recent MPEG standard where DASH Aware Network Elements (DANEs) are introduced for this purpose. However, it remains a challenging task in wireless networks due to bandwidth problems and the effect of wireless interference and client mobility. To address these problems, we unified cache server with multi-channel/multicast technique and improves speed up by limiting the number of video request from the remote server. The proposed solution is an efficient when more clients request the same video at the same or closer time. Also, video locality based on cache server, which located in the base station controller reduce core network traffics by elimination number of request to remote media services. The simulation results show that the suggested methods improve response time and speedup that lead to better quality of service. © 2017 IEEE.

Multipath TCP (MPTCP) has gained great attention by the researchers and network application developers due to its features providing better bandwidth utilization and higher reliability recently. Utilizing MPTCP in the datacenters provides performance gain to the applications. If the underlying network has Software Defined Networking (SDN) architecture, the routing of the MPTCP subflows can be specialized. In this paper, we propose an architecture utilizing MPTCP in an SDN-based ISP in order to serve guaranteed services to the video streaming clients. The number of MPTCP subflows and routes of the subflows are determined based on a mixed integer linear programming model. The simulation results show that the proposed architecture provides increase in received throughput and decrease in duration of outages when it is compared to a general-purposed throughput maximization approach.

A challenge facing SMEs is that they may not have the same capacity as large companies to analysis new data sets. Also, traditional data processing tools are not capable for SMEs decision making because of volume, velocity and variety if data. For address this problem we need new leveraging technology, tools and talent. SMEs which have risen to leveraging the value of big data are using advantage of cloud computing and open-source software to realize various goals. The main goal of this investment is about value as a new concept in a big data era. In this study, we focus on emerging trends and future requirement: technology and tools for SMEs.
