Conditions in Muara Fajar Barat sub-district, especially RW 03, still have a number of problems, especially in children of Generation Z. This Generation Z is a child born in an age that is all in technology. This is what causes children in generation Z to use digital gadgets that are not accompanied by knowing the proper use of gadgets and filtration of gadget use and supervision from parents. So that children addicted to gadgets are not for positive things but rather negative things. This gadget addiction has influenced the academic and educational and social emotions of children in Generation Z. This can be seen by the lack of interest in children's learning, the failure of children in school, and many children who drop out of school. Following this up, the dedication team had a proposal by creating a Shelter House program. This shelter program aims as a place for children in generation Z to increase interest in learning and doing assignments and discussions with friends and can develop talents of creativity and innovation. The result of this service is the realization of a shelter that is very useful for the community, especially children in Generation Z in Muara Fajar Barat sub-district. This can be seen by the crowds of shelters from the group of children who use the shelter as a haven, gather, study groups and read. Key words: Generation Z, Shelter house, Interest in Learning ABSTRAK Kondisi di kelurahan Muara Fajar Barat khususnya RW 03 masih terdapat beberapa permasalahan terutama pada anak-anak generasi Z. Generasi Z ini adalah anak yang lahir di zaman yang serba dengan teknologi. Hal ini yang menyebabkan anak-anak pada generasi Z menggunakan digital yaitu gadget tanpa diringi dengan pengetahuaan penggunaan gadget yang tepat dan filtrasi penggunaan gadget dan pengawasan dari orang tua. Sehingga anak-anak kecanduan dengan gadget bukan untuk hal yang positif tetapi lebih ke hal yang negative. Kecanduan gadget inilah yang mempengaruhi akademik dan pendidikan serta sosial emosi anak-anak pada generasi Z. Hal ini dapat dilihat dengan kurangnya minat belajar anak, ketidakberhasilannya anak-anak di sekolah, dan banyak anak-anak yang putus sekolah. Menindak lanjuti hal ini, maka tim pengabdian mempunyai usulan dengan membuat program Rumah Singgah. Program rumah singgah ini bertujuan sebagai wadah bagi anak-anak pada generasi Z ini untuk meningkatkan minat belajar dan mengerjakan tugas serta diskusi dengan teman-temannya serta dapat mengembangkan bakat kreativitas dan inovasi. Hasil dari pengabdian ini terwujudnya rumah singgah yang sangat bermanfaat bagi masyarakat khususnnya anak-anak pada generasi Z di Kelurahan tersebut. Hal ini dapat dilihat dengan ramainya pengunjung rumah singgah dari golongan anak-anak yang menggunakan rumah singgah sebagai tempat singgah, berkumpul, belajar kelompok dan membaca. The objectives of this article are to seek the opportunity to enhance the local Indonesia timber material physical performances (encompassing the low-class quality of III and IV timbers with the Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) = 5,000 - 9,000 MPa) utilizing laminated composite technology to become higher-class timber quality (class II) with the Modulus of Elasticity (MOE)> 15,000 MPa so that it can be used as an alternative material for constructing the bridge mainframe structures (girder beams) especially for the Indragiri Hilir regency, Riau Province, Indonesia. This regency needs several hundred small-medium bridges for connecting 20 districts, 39 wards, and 197 villages using local materials such as local timbers. This laminating technology is not a new technology but the utilization of this technology for constructing the main bridges structures is challenging and limited to the implementation in the civil construction industrial sector. This study composed 2 types of the low-class quality (lcq) of timber materials (such as Shorea sp and Shorea peltata Sym) and 2 types of medium class-quality (mcq) ones (Dipterocarpus and Calophyllum) for constructing the main bridge structures. Based on the laboratory test results utilizing 80% of lcq materials and 20% mcq ones, these composite timber materials may increase the timbers MOE by 145% to 166% from the existing MOE value of the mcq solid timbers. Based on the simulations these laminated composites wooden bridge girders 2 x (70x20) m2, these timber materials have passed all the tests and the application of this technology may improve the lcq timber values and it could be used for an alternative material of the bridge girder's main structures.

The development of supporting infrastructure is important for the development of a rural area. Supporting infrastructure can be like parks, ponds and buildings that are intended for the public. Abdurrab University's Real Work Lecture (KUKERTA) activity aims to identify problems, analyze problems and provide solutions to problems in the work area. The problem is that RW 02 Kelurahan Muara Fajar Barat, Rumbai District, Pekanbaru City is having a pool that is not maintained by the community. This is very unfortunate because the pool is a housing support infrastructure that has the potential to be utilized for the surrounding community. Through the work program of the Group 15 Real Work Lecture (KUKERTA) Abdurrab University in 2019 conducted a community pool rehabilitation program as an effort to improve supporting infrastructure. The method for carrying out community rehabilitation activities is to educate residents about the importance of supporting infrastructure and invite residents to carry out joint pool rehabilitation. The results achieved from this program are community-owned ponds which were originally covered with shrubs can now be utilized by the surrounding community so that they can be used for freshwater fish farming and it is hoped that the community can take the fish harvest (1spasi) Key words: Infrastructure, Support, Rehabilitation, Pond, Fish ABSTRAK Pembangunan infrastruktur penunjang merupakan hal yang penting bagi pengembangan suatu wilayah pedesaan. Infrastuktur penunjang tersebut bisa seperti taman, kolam maupun bangunan yang diperuntukkan untuk umum. Kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KUKERTA) Universitas Abdurrab bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi masalah, mengalanisis masalah dan memberikan solusi terhadap masalah di wilayah kerja. Permasalahan yang ada RW 02 Kelurahan Muara Fajar Barat Kecamatan Rumbai Kota Pekanbaru yaitu memiliki kolam milik masyarakat yang tidak terawat. Hal tersebut sangat disayangkan karena kolam tersebut merupakan infrastruktur penunjang perumahan yang memiliki potensi untuk dimanfaatkan bagi masyarakat sekitar. Melalui program kerja Kelompok 15 Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KUKERTA) Universitas Abdurrab Tahun 2019 melakukan program rehabilitasi kolam milik masyarakat sebagai upaya peningkatan infrastruktur penunjang. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan rehabilitasi kolam milik masyarakat ini adalah dengan melakukan penyuluhan terhadap warga bahwa pentingnya infrastruktur penunjang dan mengajak warga untuk melakukan rehabilitasi kolam bersama. Hasil yang dicapai dari program ini adalah kolam milik masyarakat yang awalnya ditumbuhi semak belukar sekarang dapat dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat sekitar sehingga dapat digunakan untuk peternakan ikan air tawar dan diharapkan masyarakat dapat mengambil hasil panen ikan tersebut. Quick responses in managing peatfire disasters in Indonesia are one key success in mitigating and controlling the risk of peatfire disasters. The aim of this study was to simulate and identify the optimum numbers and locations of fire brigade posts for improving their response times in mitigating peatfire events in Bengkalis Island, Riau, Indonesia. Network analyses were applied in the case of peatfire events on this island. The results of this study may assist local governments and fire brigade teams in developing a strategy to manage peatfires systematically. Hence, the results may contribute to the body of knowledge as a reference in systematically controlling peatfire disasters elsewhere in the world. This study proposed five steps in the identification of appropriate locations of fire brigade posts and performs two main steps to achieve this objective: (i) evaluating existing fire brigade posts’ service coverages; and (ii) developing three scenarios for simulating additions of one, two, and three posts. The results of this study improve fire brigade dispatch time performances as well as expand their service coverage areas from 40.7% to 62.4% within 60 minutes of dispatch time.

Clean water is a need that must be met for everyday, both individual needs and the needs of household groups. The quality of water that is needed everyday is colorless, no smell and dirty, the village of estuary in the middle of the morning is an area close to oil wells and highlands that have very low levels of water cleanliness. Muara Fajar Barat village has high iron content so that it cannot be used for consumption and even for bathing. The West Dawn Estuary community must buy water for daily needs with costs incurred every 3 days reaching 50000 rupiah or an average of 13,000 every day. The economic conditions of the underprivileged people are added to the economic burden with daily expenses by issuing the clean water financing. With this condition there needs to be a solution offered in order to reduce economic burdens and environmental friendliness, for that we need an innovative water purifier tool with a distillation method using natural ingredients and a paralon pipe as a wrapper. The water filter that is made can meet the needs of every daily household by spending only 100,000 euros every 2 months. The decline in the burden of the eastern dawn estuary community could reach 140000 rupiahs every 2 months or 70000 rupiahs

Inter-disciplinarily study concerning the identification of the highest vulnerability coastal areas has developed various methodologies such as vulnerability indexes, and hazard indexes. Commonly, a number of articles utilized one method for achieving this purpose. This study applied a combination of Coastal Vulnerability Indexes (CVI) and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) methods for identification and prioritization the most vulnerable coastal in Riau Province, Indonesia (encompassed 900 km of coastlines). This is challenging to combine vulnerability methods in order to enhance better understanding of managing coastal. Based on the CVI method, it was identified that there were 3 coastal would be prioritized as vulnerable as follow; (i) Bantar, Tanjung Motong, Meranti, (ii) Pambang Pesisir, Bengkalis, and (iii) Tanah Merah, P. Rangsang, Meranti. Based on the AHP, the most vulnerable coastal were Pambang Pesisir, Bengkalis, (ii) Tanah Merah, P. Rangsang, Meranti, (iii) Meskom, Bengkalis. The results slightly different as the CVI considered 11 coastal physical variables, and AHP considered more comprehensive criteria encompasses 15 sub-criteria. Based on the AHP the significant criteria was a strategic issue which has been considered as the highest level of influencing criteria for determining the priority for managing the coastal areas.

The state of art simulation modelling in managing traffic flow within a busy central business district (CBD) is demonstrated in this article. The objectives of this article were to; identify the existing condition of the street V/C ratios within the CBD area, and to develop various simulations modelling. The development of microscopic traffic simulations encompassing 5 streets within the CBD area in Pekanbaru, Indonesia using the PTV Vissim application was performed as a case study. The existing conditions of these 5 streets were very busy (Level of Service C and D) with on-street parking and on-street traders (vendors) along the streets. Several simulations model based on 4 traffic management approaches were applied; (i) controlling on street traders (vendors) activity, (ii) controlling parking lots, and (iii) changing the on-street parking angle and (iv) combination of these approaches. The simulation results have indicated that the optimum simulation modelling in managing CBD traffic flow within these 5 streets was conducted by managing the on-street parking angle at the position of 300 as well as controlling on street traders activity. Hence, by conducting simulations using this application improved the streets Level of services (LOS) within this CBD area from D (0,75

Provinsi Riau merupakan salah satu provinsi yang memiliki garis pantai. Pulau Rupat merupakan bagian dari Provinsi Riau yang letaknya berbatasan langsung dengan Selat Melaka. Potensi Pulau Rupat sebagai wilayah pesisir banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai objek pariwisata, pemukiman dan industri. Sebagai pulau terluar di wilayah Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI), maka perlu identifikasi dan pemetaan tingkat kerentanan pantai di Pulau Rupat sehingga dapat memberikan rekomendasi wilayah mana di Pulau Rupat yang harus diselamatkan dari kerusakan pantai. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu berdasarkan pendekatan Indeks Kerentanan Pantai (IKP) dan Geographical Information System (GIS) untuk menentukan parameter perubahan garis pantai. Sedangkan data penelitan bersumber dari hasil survey lapangan kerusakan pantai di wilayah penelitian serta data citra satelit selama 20 tahun terakhir (2000-2020) untuk melihat besarnya perubahan garis pantai. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, tingkat kerentanan pantai di Pulau Rupat berada dalam kategori rendah hingga sangat tinggi dengan kondisi teknis mengalami abrasi maupun akresi. Penelitian ini juga memberikan hasil bahwa Desa Tanjung Jaya, Tanjung Punak, Teluk Lapin, Kedur, Makeruh, Pergam, Batu Panjang, Tanjung Kapal terjadi pengurangan garis pantai di mana Desa Pergam memiliki pengurangan garis pantai tertinggi yaitu sebesar 3,557 m/tahun.

The objective of this article is to evaluate the effectiveness implementation of the weather modification technology (WMT) for mitigating peatland fire disasters in Riau Province, Indonesia. The implementation of this WMT in Indonesia has been relatively new and challenging as this cutting-edge technology may increase the precipitation rates and therefore, it may reduce the risk of peat fire hazards in the huge massive areas. The Riau province has experienced serious peatland fire disasters from the period of 2014 to 2016. The evaluation of WMT in this article was focused on four regions within Riau encompassing Indragiri Hilir regency, Meranti Island, Pelalawan, and Siak. The Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) satellite data were used to calculate the precipitation rates. The method applied to evaluating the effectiveness of WMT was the Target Only Method (TOM). This method calculated the precipitation rates during the WMT period, which is compared to the historical precipitation data in a similar period. The total duration of a 3-year WMT implementation was 380 days, and the results were considered successful as an increase of precipitation rate (PCH) = 2.09 > 1.00. Hence, there was an increase in the average of precipitation rate during WMT period of 2014-2016 in Riau.

The length of Riau coastlines, Indonesia were approximately 900 km long. Hence, there has been difficulty in prioritizing managing various locations of the coastline damages based on a systematic approach. The objectives of this paper are to apply the state of art in the identification of 16 major coastlines vulnerability index in Riau, and to prioritizing which coastlines should be managed in terms of 4 main aspects such as; technical aspect, economic, environmental, and strategic one. The methodology applied in this paper utilized the combination of the Coastal Vulnerability Index (CVI) and social economic approaches using a Likert’s scale of 1 (low) to 5 (very high). This study has recommended a priority in managing the coastlines in Riau was as follow; Pambang Pesisir, Bengkalis and Tanah Merah, Meranti Islands. These coastlines were calculated as the very high level of vulnerability indexes of 75.3 and 74.9 respectively. This study also simulated the use of shoreline protection structure by Genesis software utilizing a revetment construction. The results showed that the construction of revetment structure in Pambang pesisir beach may reduce the shore erosion rate from 10 m/14 year to 0 m /14 year.
