This study identified the conditions increasing the feasibility, acceptability, and effectiveness potential of an intervention to promote the medication adherence. This was a qualitative, cross-sectional study design and a focus group technique with 15 patients and 14 nurses were used to identify the opinion about the intervention to adhere cardioprotective medications in primary healthcare service. The sessions were recorded in audio, transcribed in full, and discussed in detail to obtain agreement among the evaluators. EQUATOR checklist COREQ is used. The participants suggest that the intervention should be applied in a written and verbal way lasting approximately 30 minutes and reinforcement with a thirty-day interval. The forgetting, complexity of the therapeutic regimen, lack of free access to medications, limited understanding of their disease, and the patient's personal choice of not adhering, have been mentioned as barriers to adherence. Participants adjusted the mode of application and dose of the intervention. Este estudio identificó las condiciones que aumentan la viabilidad, la aceptabilidad y el potencial de efectividad de una intervención para promover la adherencia a la medicación. Se trató de un estudio de diseño cualitativo, transversal y se utilizó una técnica de grupo focal con 15 pacientes y 14 enfermeras para identificar la opinión sobre la intervención para adherir medicamentos cardioprotectores en el servicio de atención primaria de salud. Las sesiones fueron grabadas en audio, transcritas en su totalidad y discutidas en detalle para obtener el acuerdo entre los evaluadores. Se utiliza la lista de verificación COREQ de EQUATOR. Los participantes sugieren que la intervención debe ser aplicada de forma escrita y verbal con una duración aproximada de 30 minutos y refuerzo con un intervalo de treinta días. El olvido, la complejidad del régimen terapéutico, la falta de libre acceso a los medicamentos, la limitada comprensión de su enfermedad y la elección personal del paciente de no adherirse, han sido mencionadas como barreras para la adherencia. Los participantes ajustaron el modo de aplicación y la dosis de la intervención. Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo, de delineamento transversal e a técnica de grupo focal foi utilizada com 15 pacientes e 14 enfermeiros para identificar a opinião sobre a intervenção para adesão aos medicamentos cardioprotetores na atenção primária à saúde. As sessões foram gravadas em áudio, transcritas na íntegra e discutidas detalhadamente para obter concordância entre os avaliadores. A lista de verificação COREQ do EQUATOR foi utilizada. Os participantes sugeriram que a intervenção fosse aplicada de forma escrita e verbal com duração aproximada de 30 minutos e reforço com intervalo de trinta dias. O esquecimento, a complexidade do regime terapêutico, a falta de acesso gratuito aos medicamentos, a compreensão limitada de sua doença e a escolha pessoal do paciente de não aderir, foram mencionados como barreiras à adesão. Os participantes ajustaram o modo de aplicação e a dose da intervenção.

High salt intake has been observed in several populations worldwide. Therefore, promoting healthier salt consumption has been encouraged as a low-cost strategy to reduce this risk factor. However, these strategies need to be sound, built on theoretical and methodological bases, and consider the target population's context. This protocol aims to describe a mobile phone app intervention to promote healthy salt intake among adults. This is an experimental and longitudinal study protocol conducted in three modules. Module 1 refers to the planning of the intervention based on the Behaviour Change Wheel framework. Module 2 is the development of the mobile phone app intervention based on the date of module 1. In module 3, the intervention will be evaluated using a randomized controlled study, with three steps of data collection in a 2-month follow-up in a sample of 86 adults (43 participants for each group: the control group and intervention group) recruited from the primary health care centers of a Brazilian town. The discretionary salt intake questionnaire will assess salt consumption, the app usability will be assessed using the System Usability Scale, and psychosocial variables (habit, intention, and self-efficacy) will also be measured. Recruitment began in October 2021, and the follow-up will end in August 2022. The results of this study are expected to be published in 2023. OBJECTIVE: to investigate the factors related to medication adherence and its relation to Health- Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) in elderly people with diabetic retinopathy. METHOD: one hundred (n=100) elderly outpatients with diabetic retinopathy taking antihypertensives and/or oral antidiabetics/insulin were interviewed. Adherence was evaluated by the adherence proportion and its association with the care taken in administrating medications and by the Morisky Scale. The National Eye Institute Visual Functioning Questionnaire (NEI VFQ-25) was used to evaluate HRQoL. RESULTS: most (58%) reported the use of 80% or more of the prescribed dose and care in utilizing the medication. The item "stopping the drug when experiencing an adverse event", from the Morisky Scale, explained 12.8% and 13.5% of the variability of adherence proportion to antihypertensives and oral antidiabetics/insulin, respectively. CONCLUSION: there was better HRQoL in the Color Vision, Driving and Social Functioning domains of the NEI VFQ-25. Individuals with lower scores on the NEI VFQ-25 and higher scores on the Morisky Scale presented greater chance to be nonadherent to the pharmacological treatment of diabetes and hypertension.

This study provides evidence of construct validity for the Brazilian version of the Godin-Shephard Leisure-Time Physical Activity Questionnaire (GSLTPAQ), a 1-item instrument used among 236 participants referred for cardiopulmonary exercise testing. The Baecke Habitual Physical Activity Questionnaire (Baecke-HPA) was used to evaluate convergent and divergent validity. The self-reported measure of walking (QCAF) evaluated the convergent validity. Cardiorespiratory fitness assessed convergent validity by the Veterans Specific Activity Questionnaire (VSAQ), peak measured (VO2peak) and maximum predicted (VO2pred) oxygen uptake. Partial adjusted correlation coefficients between the GSLTPAQ, Baecke-HPA, QCAF, VO2pred and VSAQ provided evidence for convergent validity; while divergent validity was supported by the absence of correlations between the GSLTPAQ and the Occupational Physical Activity domain (Baecke-HPA). The GSLTPAQ presents level 3 of evidence of construct validity and may be useful to assess leisure-time physical activity among patients with cardiovascular disease and healthy individuals. Este estudo fornece evidências de validade de construto da versão brasileira do Godin-Shephard Leisure-Time Physical Activity Questionnaire (GSLTPAQ), instrumento de 1 item usado entre 236 participantes encaminhados ao teste de esforço cardiopulmonar. O Questionário de Atividade Física Habitual de Baecke (AFH-Baecke) avaliou a validade convergente e divergente. A medida de autorrelato de caminhada (QCAF) acessou a validade convergente. A aptidão cardiorrespiratória avaliou a validade convergente por meio do Veterans Specific Activity Questionnaire (VSAQ), consumo pico (VO2pico) e máximo (VO2pred) de oxigênio. Coeficientes de correlação parciais ajustados entre o GSLTPAQ, Baecke-HPA, QCAF, VO2pred e VSAQ forneceram evidências de validade convergente; enquanto a validade divergente foi apoiada pela ausência de correlações entre a GSLTPAQ e o domínio Atividade Física Ocupacional (AFH-Baecke). O GSLTPAQ apresenta nível 3 de evidência de validade de construto e parece útil para avaliar a atividade física no tempo de lazer entre pacientes com doença cardiovascular e indivíduos saudáveis. El Cuestionario de Actividad Física Habitual de Baecke (AFH-Baecke) se utilizó para evaluar la validez convergente y divergente. La medida de auto-reporte de caminar (QCAF) evaluó la validez convergente. Aptitud cardiorrespiratoria fue evaluada por el Veterans Specific Activity Questionnaire (VSAQ), medida pico (VO2pico) y máximo (VO2pred) del consumo de oxígeno. Coeficientes de correlación parciales ajustados entre el GSLTPAQ, AFH-Baecke, QCAF, VO2pred y VSAQ investigaran la validez convergente; y la validez divergente fue apoyada por ausencia de correlación entre GSLTPAQ y la Actividad Física Ocupacional (AFH-Baecke). El GSLTPAQ presenta nivel 3 de evidencia de validez de constructo y puede ser útil para valorar la actividad física en el tiempo libre entre los pacientes con enfermedad cardiovascular y individuos sanos.
