Abstract

Este ensaio traça um mapa de geografia crítica interamericana de como literatura e teoria descolonizam as colonialidades de ser-estar. Ao partir da “experiência comum quebrada no tempo” – “a não história” (Glissant, 1992) – que faz com que os escritores deste continente busquem o continuum espacial e temporal, pergunta-se: qual o papel de(s)colonial da literatura/teoria no cenário das diversas crises contemporâneas? Que tipo de casa-lar textos literários representam em diversos contextos culturais das Américas, caracterizados por transculturação, translocação, violência e entre lugares locais e globais? Nesse processo, elaboram-se trilhas enquanto respostas tentativas dentro da área da literatura comparada e suas abordagens e metodologias analíticas interdisciplinares com o objetivo de problematizar a relação entre literatura e teoria e cultura e descolonização na interface entre colonialismo e colonialidade.

Abstract

This essay traces a critical inter-American map of how literature and theory decolonize colonialities of being. By starting from what Édouard Glissant (1992) has theorized as our “common experience broken in time” – this “nonhistory” with pan‑American writers in search of a temporal and spatial continuum, it is guided by the following questions: what is the decolonizing role of literature and theory in the contemporary scenario of interconnected crises? What types of home are represented in literary texts delineating diverse cultural contexts characterized by transculturation, translocation, violence and local and global in-betweenness? In the process, it elaborates trails qua tentative answers within the field of Comparative Literature and its theoretical approaches and interdisciplinary methodologies with the objective of problematizing the relation between literature/theory, culture, and decolonization at the colonialism-coloniality interface.

Abstract

Abstract Patients with head‐and‐neck cancer can develop both lung metastasis and primary lung cancer during the course of their disease. Despite the clinical importance of discrimination, reliable diagnostic biomarkers are still lacking. Here, we have characterised a cohort of squamous cell lung (SQCLC) and head‐and‐neck (HNSCC) carcinomas by quantitative proteomics. In a training cohort, we quantified 4,957 proteins in 44 SQCLC and 30 HNSCC tumours. A total of 518 proteins were found to be differentially expressed between SQCLC and HNSCC, and some of these were identified as genetic dependencies in either of the two tumour types. Using supervised machine learning, we inferred a proteomic signature for the classification of squamous cell carcinomas as either SQCLC or HNSCC, with diagnostic accuracies of 90.5% and 86.8% in cross‐ and independent validations, respectively. Furthermore, application of this signature to a cohort of pulmonary squamous cell carcinomas of unknown origin leads to a significant prognostic separation. This study not only provides a diagnostic proteomic signature for classification of secondary lung tumours in HNSCC patients, but also represents a proteomic resource for HNSCC and SQCLC.

Abstract

Este ensaio focaliza questões teóricas da abordagem comparativa das literaturas que constituem o espaço literário da diáspora negra. Ele parte da hipótese de que a análise comparativa e interdisciplinar deve inter-relacionar o “inconsciente político”, o “inconsciente cultural” e o “inconsci-ente ecológico” que caracterizam os textos. Neste sentido, entende-se o texto literário como cronotopo e situado num cronotopo imbuído do fan-tasma recalcado das violências e brutalizações, o qual volta em resposta à Verleugnung, fazendo sentir sua presença tanto no nível da enunciação tex-tual quanto no da experiência vivida. Com relação aos afrodescendentes, este espaço-tempo (literário/existencial) é multidimensional: uma encruzil-hada diaspórica onde culturas e epistemes se encontram e transculturam. Isto implica num dos assuntos principais problematizado neste ensaio: como podemos analisar os fluxos dinâmicos desta encruzilhada?

Abstract

Active Galactic Nuclei emit radiation over the whole electromagnetic spectrum up to TeV energies. Blazars are one subtype with their jets pointing towards the observer. One of their typical features is extreme variability on timescales, from minutes to years. The fractional variability is an often used parameter for investigating the degree of variability of a light curve. Different detection methods and sensitivities of the instruments result in differently binned data and light curves with gaps. As they can influence the physics interpretation of the broadband variability, the effects of these differences on the fractional variability need to be studied. In this paper, we study the systematic effects of completeness in time coverage and the sampling rate. Using public data from instruments monitoring blazars in various energy ranges, we study the variability of the bright TeV blazars Mrk 421 and Mrk 501 over the electromagnetic spectrum, taking into account the systematic effects, and compare our findings with previous results. Especially in the TeV range, the fractional variability is higher than in previous studies, which can be explained by the much longer (seven years compared to few weeks) and more complete data sample.

Abstract

Blazars are known to show variability on time scales from minutes to years covering a wide range of flux states. Studying the flux distribution of a source allows for various insights. The shape of the flux distribution can provide information on the nature of the underlying variability processes. The level of a possible quiescent state can be derived from the main part of the distribution that can be described by a Gaussian distribution. Dividing the flux states into quiescent and active, the duty cycle of a source can be calculated. Finally, this allows alerting the multi-wavelength and multi-messenger community in case a source is in an active state. To get consistent and conclusive results from flux distributions, unbiased long-term observations are crucial. Only like this is a complete picture of the variability and flux states, e.g., an all-time quiescent state, possible. In seven years of monitoring of bright TeV blazars, the first G-APD Cherenkov telescope (FACT) has collected a total of more than 11,700 hours of physics data with 1500 hours to 3000 hours per source for Mrk 421, Mrk 501, 1ES 1959+650, and 1ES 2344+51.

Ao longo do texto, são abordadas e problematizadas as seguintes questões:como é constituída, produzida e encenada a identidade quando formas de opressão com base na identidade negam ou delimitam a negociação e compreensão de seus significados? Como a diferença e a diversidade designam o outro? Como são constituídos, mantidos ou descontruídos os limites da diferença e as fronteiras da diversidade? E, finalmente, se esses limites ou fronteiras constituem o espaço das relações de poder onde as identificações são performatizadas, então, quais são seus efeitos sobre a formação da identidade? Abstract

Blazars like Markarian 421 or Markarian 501 are active galactic nuclei (AGN), with their jets orientated towards the observer. They are among the brightest objects in the very high energy (VHE) gamma ray regime (>100 GeV). Their emitted gamma-ray fluxes are extremely variable, with changing activity levels on timescales between minutes, months, and even years. Several questions are part of the current research, such as the question of the emission regions or the engine of the AGN and the particle acceleration. A dedicated longterm monitoring program is necessary to investigate the properties of blazars in detail. A densely sampled and unbiased light curve allows for observation of both high and low states of the sources, and the combination with multi-wavelength observation could contribute to the answer of several questions mentioned above. FACT (First G-APD Cherenkov Telescope) is the first operational telescope using silicon photomultiplier (SiPM, also known as Geigermode—Avalanche Photo Diode, G-APD) as photon detectors. SiPM have a very homogenous and stable longterm performance, and allow operation even during full moon without any filter, leading to a maximal duty cycle for an Imaging Air Cherenkov Telescope (IACT). Hence, FACT is an ideal device for such a longterm monitoring of bright blazars. A small set of sources (e.g., Markarian 421, Markarian 501, 1ES 1959+650, and 1ES 2344+51.4) is currently being monitored. In this contribution, the FACT telescope and the concept of longterm monitoring of bright blazars will be introduced. The results of the monitoring program will be shown, and the advantages of densely sampled and unbiased light curves will be discussed.

Partindo da hipótese que a contra-memória é um ato de resistência à perda, expropriação e desterritorialização, o enfoque analítico deste trabalho são obras escolhidas de Édouard Glissant, Gisèle Pineau, Patrick Chamoiseau e Maryse Condé com o objetivo de traçar a dinâmica heterotópica do (não) pertencimento cultural/identitário no espaço diaspórico do Caribe. Problematiza-se como os autores desenvolvem concepções de coesão e inteireza, os “milieux de mémoire” coletivos, a partir da cosmovisão e do ethos implodidos pela colonização e diasporização. Neste processo, examina-se como a palavra escrita engaja a memória oral para recriar as referências necessárias para a reconstrução da identidade cultural, identidade transculturada em múltiplos processos de fissura e fusão entre mares e lares, raízes e rotas, origens quebradas e chegadas diferidas. It problematizes how the authors develop conceptions of cohesion and wholeness, collective “milieux de mémoire,” out of an imploded ethos and worldview resulting from colonization and diasporization. Abstract

Based on the hypothesis that the (re)creation of epistemic home places in African diaspora fiction is achieved through an apprapriation of historical, mental, bodily, and discursive space - the appropriation of signs, by means of which a closed, fixed and distorted history, identity, and imagination is opened up and set in motion once more - this essay traces discursive strategies of resistance to probe different meanings the concept of home has taken on in selected novels by New World African writers from Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, and Brazil. In the process, it focuses on the (re)creation of home out of errantry, the rewriting of history through memory, by prablematizing memory as a site of identity (re)construction, ethical struggle over the access to signification, and epistemic (re)vision. --- Original in English

Abstract

Synthesis models of the diffuse Cosmic X-ray Background (CXB) suggest that it can be resolved into discrete sources, primarily Active Galactic Nuclei (AGNs). Measuring the CXB accurately offers a unique probe to study the AGN population in the nearby Universe. Current hard X-ray instruments suffer from time-dependent background and cross-calibration issues. As a result, their measurements of the CXB normalization has an uncertainty of the order of ~15%. In this paper, we present the concept and simulated performances of a CXB detector, which could be operated on different platforms. With a 16-U CubeSat mission running for more than two years in space, such a detector could measure the CXB normalization with ~1% uncertainty.

Abstract

High mass X-ray binaries are among the brightest X-ray sources in the Milky Way, as well as in nearby Galaxies. Thanks to their highly variable emissions and complex phenomenology, they have attracted the interest of the high energy astrophysical community since the dawn of X-ray Astronomy. In more recent years, they have challenged our comprehension of physical processes in many more energy bands, ranging from the infrared to very high energies. In this review, we provide a broad but concise summary of the physical processes dominating the emission from high mass X-ray binaries across virtually the whole electromagnetic spectrum. These comprise the interaction of stellar winds with the high gravitational and magnetic fields of compact objects, the behaviour of matter under extreme magnetic and gravity conditions, and the perturbation of the massive star evolutionary processes. We highlight the role of the INTEGRAL mission in the discovery of many of the most interesting objects in the high mass X-ray binary class and its contribution in reviving the interest for these sources over the past two decades. We show how the INTEGRAL discoveries have not only contributed to significantly increase the number of high mass X-ray binaries known, thus advancing our understanding of the population as a whole, but also have opened new windows of investigation that stimulated the multi-wavelength approach nowadays common in most astrophysical research fields. We conclude the review by providing an overview of future facilities being planned from the X-ray to the very high energy domain that will hopefully help us in finding an answer to the many questions left open after more than 18 years of INTEGRAL scientific observations.

Abstract

The Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO) consists of three types of telescopes: large-sized (LST), mediumsized (MST), and small-sized (SST), distributed in two observing sites (North and South). For the CTA South "Alpha Configuration" the construction and installation of 37 (+5) SST telescopes (a number that could increase up to 70 in future upgrades) are planned. The SSTs are developed by an international consortium of institutes that will provide them as an in-kind contribution to CTAO. The SSTs rely on a Schwarzschild-Couder-like dual-mirror polynomial optical design, with a primary mirror of 4 m diameter, and are equipped with a focal plane camera based on SiPM detectors covering a field of view of ~9°. The current SST concept was validated by developing the prototype dual-mirror ASTRI-Horn Cherenkov telescope and the CHEC-S SiPM focal plane camera. In this contribution, we will present an overview of the SST key technologies, the current status of the SST project, and the planned schedule.

Abstract

The study of short-term variability properties in AGN jets has the potential to shed light on their particle acceleration and emission mechanisms. We report results from a four-day coordinated multi-wavelength campaign on the highly-peaked blazar (HBL) Mkn 421 in 2019 January. We obtained X-ray data from AstroSAT, BVRI photometry with the Whole Earth Blazar Telescope (WEBT), and TeV data from FACT to explore short-term multi-wavelength variability in this HBL. The X-ray continuum is rapidly variable on time-scales of tens of ks. Fractional variability amplitude increases with energy across the synchrotron hump, consistent with previous studies; we interpret this observation in the context of a model with multiple cells whose emission spectra contain cutoffs that follow a power-law distribution. We also performed time-averaged and time-resolved (time-scales of 6 ks) spectral fits; a broken power-law model fits all spectra well; time-resolved spectral fitting reveals the usual hardening when brightening behaviour. Intra-X-ray cross correlations yield evidence for the 0.6-0.8 keV band to likely lead the other bands by an average of 4.6 +- 2.6 ks, but only during the first half of the observation. The source displayed minimal night-to-night variability at all wavebands thus precluding significant interband correlations during our campaign. The broadband SED is modeled well with a standard one-zone leptonic model, yielding jet parameters consistent with those obtained from previous SEDs of this source., This article has been accepted for publication in The Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society (2022), and is published in Volume 513, Issue 2, pp.1662-1679. Abstract

The realtime follow-up of neutrino events is a promising approach to search for astrophysical neutrino sources. It has so far provided compelling evidence for a neutrino point source: the flaring gamma-ray blazar TXS 0506+056 observed in coincidence with the high-energy neutrino IceCube-170922A detected by IceCube. The detection of very-high-energy gamma rays (VHE, $\mathrm{E} > 100\,\mathrm{GeV}$) from this source helped establish the coincidence and constrained the modeling of the blazar emission at the time of the IceCube event. The four major imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescope arrays (IACTs) - FACT, H.E.S.S., MAGIC, and VERITAS - operate an active follow-up program of target-of-opportunity observations of neutrino alerts sent by IceCube. This program has two main components. One are the observations of known gamma-ray sources around which a cluster of candidate neutrino events has been identified by IceCube (Gamma-ray Follow-Up, GFU). Second one is the follow-up of single high-energy neutrino candidate events of potential astrophysical origin such as IceCube-170922A. GFU has been recently upgraded by IceCube in collaboration with the IACT groups. Abstract

The First G-APD Cherenkov Telescope (FACT) is located at the Observatory Roque de los Muchachos on the Canary island La Palma. It uses the imaging air Cherenkov technique to detect gamma rays. With the help of silicon based photosensors in the camera, FACT is an ideal instrument to monitor a small sample of sources with a good time coverage. The automatic operation of the telescope allows an increase of the duty cycle of the instrument. An SQL database is part of the automatic analysis chain, where data on an event basis are stored. This way of storing the data has a several advantages. It can provide easy web-access to all data with no need of creating different user accounts for the analysers and without using special software. The data selection is done via simple queries to the database. This allows very flexible and powerful queries with, for example, user-defined time binning or background suppression. By using observed and simulated events, the complete analysis chain can be done, including the calculation of the measured energy spectrum. Abstract

Blazars, a subclass of active galactic nuclei (AGNs), are highly variable objects. Quasiperiodic oscillations (QPOs), which might originate from a binary black hole located at the AGN core,have been found in some blazar light curves. For the blazars Mrk 421 and Mrk 501, we test the possible QPO behavior using a variety of methods (generalized Lomb-Scargle periodogram,continuous-time autoregressive moving average models, wavelet scalograms, and A−T plane), studying systematic effects in detail. We use gamma-ray light curves from FACT, a ground-based imaging air Cherenkov telescope. Abstract

The First G-APD Cherenkov Telescope (FACT) has been monitoring blazars at TeV energies for more than eight years. Using solid state photo sensors and performing robotic operations results in a maximized duty cycle of the instrument and minimized observational gaps, providing an unprecedented data sample of more than 14700~hours of physics data. With an unbiased observing strategy, a small sample of sources is monitored. Results of an automatic quick-look analysis are published with low latency on an open-access website. Since 2014, close to 150 alerts including 11 astronomer's telegrams have been issued triggering target-of-opportunity observations and a variety of multi-wavelength studies. In 2016, FACT alerted MAGIC to a high state of 1ES 2344+51.4. The combined observations revealed a renewed extreme behaviour of the source. Thanks to target-of-opportunity observations and preplanned campaigns, several rich datasets with combined observations with INTEGRAL, XMM-Newton and AstroSAT are available for Mrk 421. Furthermore, dedicated campaigns each observing season provide multi-wavelength light curves and spectral energy distributions for the brightest blazars. The unprecedented, unbiased TeV data sample also provides the unique chance to study the duty cycle and the long-term spectral and temporal behaviour of the sources, including the search for periodic signals. Studying the long-term variability of Mrk 421 and Mrk 501 in the multi-wavelength context, correlations of different wavelengths are investigated searching for delays. Abstract

Measuring the Cosmic X-ray Background (CXB) is a key to understand the Active Galactic Nuclei population, their absorption distribution and their average spectra. However, hard X-ray instruments suffer from time-dependent backgrounds and cross-calibration issues. The uncertainty of the CXB normalization remain of the order of 20%. To obtain a more accurate measurement, the Monitor Vsego Neba (MVN) instrument was built in Russia but not yet launched to the ISS (arXiv:1410.3284). We follow the same ideas to develop a CXB detector made of four collimated spectrometers with a rotating obturator on top. The collimators block off-axis photons below 100 keV and the obturator modulates on-axis photons allowing to separate the CXB from the instrumental background. Our spectrometers are made of 20 mm thick CeBr$_{3}$ crystals on top of a SiPM array. One tube features a $\sim$20 cm$^2$ effective area and more energy coverage than MVN, leading to a CXB count rate improved by a factor of $\sim$10 and a statistical uncertainty $\sim$0.5% on the CXB flux. Abstract

Markarian 421 (Mrk 421) is a high-synchrotron-peaked blazar showing relentless variability across the electromagnetic spectrum from radio to gamma-rays. We use over 7-years of radio and GeV observations to study the correlation and connected variability in radio and GeV bands. Radio data was obtained in a 15GHz band by the OVRO 40-m radio telescope, and GeV data is from Fermi Large Area Telescope. To determine the location of the gamma-ray emission regions in Mrk 421 we correlate GeV and radio light curves. We found that GeV light curve varies independently and accurately leads the variations observed in radio. Using a fast-rise-slow-decay profile derived for shock propagation within a conical jet, we manage to reproduce the radio light curve from GeV variations. The profile rise time is comparable with the Fermi-LAT binning the decay time is about 7.6 days. The best-fit value for the response profile also features a 44 days delay between the GeV and radio, which is compatible with the wide lag range obtained from the correlation. Such a delay corresponds to $10^{17}$ cm/c, which is comparable with the apparent light crossing time of the Mrk 421 radio core. Generally, the observed variability matches the predictions of the leptonic models and suggests that the physical conditions vary in the jet. Abstract

The Large-Sized Telescope (LST) prototype of the future Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA) is located at the Northern site of CTA, on the Canary Island of La Palma. It is designed to provide optimal performance in the lowest part of the energy range covered by CTA, observing gamma rays down to energies of tens of GeV. The LST prototype started performing astronomical observations in November 2019 during the commissioning of the telescope and it has been taking data since then. In this contribution, we will present the tuning of the characteristics of the telescope in the Monte Carlo (MC) simulations to describe the data obtained, the estimation of its angular and energy resolution, and an evaluation of its sensitivity, both with simulations and with observations of the Crab Nebula.

Abstract

Gemtuzumab ozogamicin (GO) improves outcomes when added to intensive AML chemotherapy. A meta-analysis suggested the greatest benefit when combining fractionated doses of GO (GO3) with 7 + 3. To test whether GO3 can be safely used with high intensity chemotherapy, we conducted a phase 1/2 study of cladribine, high-dose cytarabine, G-CSF, and dose-escalated mitoxantrone (CLAG-M) in adults with newly diagnosed AML or other high-grade myeloid neoplasm (NCT03531918). Sixty-six patients with a median age of 65 (range: 19–80) years were enrolled. Cohorts of six and twelve patients were treated in phase 1 with one dose of GO or three doses of GO (GO3) at 3 mg/m2 per dose. Since a maximum-tolerated dose was not reached, the recommended phase 2 dose (RP2D) was declared to be GO3. At RP2D, 52/60 (87%) patients achieved a complete remission (CR)/CR with incomplete hematologic recovery (CRi), 45/52 (87%) without flow cytometric measurable residual disease (MRD). Eight-week mortality was 0%. Six- and twelve-month event-free survival (EFS) were 73% and 58%; among favorable-risk patients, these estimates were 100% and 95%. Compared to 186 medically matched adults treated with CLAG-M alone, CLAG-M/GO3 was associated with better survival in patients with favorable-risk disease (EFS: p = 0.007; OS: p = 0.030). These data indicate that CLAG-M/GO3 is safe and leads to superior outcomes than CLAG-M alone in favorable-risk AML/high-grade myeloid neoplasm.

Resumo Este trabalho analisa como escritores ameríndios desenham um mapa de uma geografia crítica ao delinear a inter-relacionada brutalização dos seres humanos e do (meio) ambiente na interface colonização/descolonização. Baseado em uma abordagem teórica comparativa e interdisciplinar, embutida nos Estudos Culturais/Pós-Coloniais e na Ecocrítica, o ensaio problematiza a questão da identidade ameríndia atrelada a terra e à prática da cultura e língua dentro de contextos de (neo)colonialidade e revela a relação quebrada entre sujeito, língua, lugar e mundo que constitui uma das fontes principais do entre-lugar em textos de autores ameríndios do Brasil, do Peru e dos Estados Unidos. Abstract The objective of this work is to analyze how indigenous writers of the Americas draw a map of a critical geography by delineating the interrelated brutalization of human beings and the environment at the colonial/decolonial interface. Its theoretical approach is comparative and interdisciplinary and embedded in Cultural/Post-Colonial Studies and Ecocriticism with the objective to problematize the issue of identity attached to the land and the practice of culture and language within contexts of (neo)coloniality, revealing the broken equation between subject, language, place and the world that constitutes one of the principal sources of in-betweenness in texts by indigenous writers form Brazil, Peru and the United States.

40. Wandern im Aachener Kessel : 10 Streckenwanderungen rund um und quer durch Aachen

Abstract

Die Stadt Aachen in der Mitte des Aachener Kessels blickt auf eine zweitausend Jahre lange Geschichte zurück. Ihre Straßen, die Mauern ihrer Gebäude und schriftliche Chroniken geben Auskunft über die politischen, wirtschaftlichen und gesellschaftlichen Veränderungen in dieser dem Menschen lang erscheinenden Zeit. Außerhalb der Stadt bieten die Vegetation, die Bodenarten, der Verlauf der Bäche und das Relief deutliche Hinweise auf eine viele zigtausend Jahre anhaltende Entwicklung dieser heutigen Landschaft schon vor dieser Zeit. Und wenn dann noch Steine des Untergrunds auf den Feldern, in Wegböschungen und in ehemaligen Steinbrüchen freigelegt sind, öffnet sich das Zeitfenster sogar in eine noch fernere, viele Millionen Jahre zurückreichende erdgeschichtliche Vergangenheit. Die zehn vorgeschlagenen Wanderrouten sind als Streckenwanderungen konzipiert. Die Startpunkte für die einzelnen Routen liegen immer an einer der großen Aachener Ausfallstraßen, die Endpunkte jeweils an der im Uhrzeigersinn nächsten. Diese Streckenführung hat den Vorteil, dass sich auf den großen Straßen immer Bushaltestellen für die An- und Rückfahrt anbieten. Aber auch Autofahrer finden dort immer geeignete Parkplätze. Die Hauptstrecken sind zwischen 8 und 12 Kilometer lang. Sie sind bequem an einem halben Tag zu bewältigen. Die Höhenunterschiede bleiben in der Regel unter 100 Meter. Jede Route hat ihre Wanderkarte und Fotos und Erläuterungen zu besonderen Orten unterwegs. Vertiefende Erklärungen sind in separaten Kapiteln nachzulesen. Die Streckenverläufe können auch einzeln mithilfe eines QR-Codes als gpx-Datei heruntergeladen werden. Abstract

Mrk 421 is a high-synchrotron-peaked blazar featuring bright and persistent GeV and TeV emission. We use the longest and densest ongoing unbiased observing campaign obtained at TeV and GeV energies during 5.5 years with the FACT telescope and the Fermi-LAT detector. The contemporaneous multi-wavelength observations were used to characterize the variability of the source and to constrain the underlying physical mechanisms. We study and correlate light curves obtained by nine different instruments from radio to gamma rays and found two significant results. The TeV and X-ray light curves are very well correlated with lag, if any, shorter than a day. The GeV light curve varies independently and accurately leads the variations observed at long wavelengths, in particular in the radio band. Astrophysics deals with important questions characterizing human nature. Most of our knowledge was obtained in the last century. The data resulting from these explorations, collected in space or on ground, are of great value, encoding our knowledge of the Universe, of our past and of our future. With the emergence of clouds and deep learning, high level interfaces to these data could evolve towards providing direct access to knowledge. The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs can play a role towards a consensus in establishing a code of conduct on data handling and promoting the data and knowledge on the Universe as an intangible world cultural heritage.

In the final part, I will present a theoretical approach with which to examine the aesthetics of violence in multiethnic literature of the Americas.
