1. Macrolide and fluoroquinolone resistance in Mycoplasma genitalium isolated from pregnant women in Russia and Belarus

Abstract: Objective. To study epidemiology of resistance to macrolides and fluoroquinolones in Mycoplasmagenitalium isolated from pregnant women in Russia and Belarus. Materials and Methods. A total of 107 M. genitalium DNA samples isolated from pregnant women in Russia (n = 58) and Belarus (n = 49) was included in the study. In order to detect markers of macrolide or fluoroquinolone resistance, polymerase chain reaction in real time with the effect of quenching fluorescence of the probe by a primer was used. Confirmation of mutation type was performed using Sanger sequencing. Results. The prevalence of M. genitalium resistance mutations to macrolides in Russia (Tula, Smolensk) and Belarus (Vitebsk, Brest, Minsk) was 3.4% (2/58) and 6.1% (3/49), respectively. Markers of M. genitalium resistance to fluoroquinolones were detected in 5.2% (3/58) of samples from Russia and 8.2% (4/49) of samples from Belarus. The most common mutations associated with macrolide resistance were A2059G (n = 4), fluoroquinolone resistance – D84N (n = 3) and S80I (n = 3) (numbering according to E. coli). Conclusions. The prevalence of M. genitalium resistance markers isolated in pregnant women highlights a need for regular macrolide and fluoroquinolone resistance surveillance.

Abstract: Objective. To study the prevalence and mechanisms of antibiotic resistance, including carbapenemase production, in clinical isolates of Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli isolated in different regions of Russia as part of the sentinel multicenter surveillance study in 2020–2021, and to explore the population structure of K. pneumoniae and the impact of “high-risk clones” on antibiotic resistance. Materials and Methods. Consecutive, non-duplicate isolates of K. pneumoniae (n = 2503) and E. coli (n = 2055) isolated from various specimens (blood, cerebrospinal fluid, respiratory samples, urine, wound secretions, etc.) of hospitalized patients with clinical signs of infection in 55 hospitals of 29 cities of Russia were studied. Species identification of isolates was performed by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS). Antibiotic susceptibilities were determined by serial broth microdilution or, in the case of fosfomycin, by agar dilution method, and results were interpreted according to EUCAST v13 MIC breakpoints. Carbapenemase production was determined phenotypically by carbapenem inactivation method (CIM), the presence of genes of the most common serine carbapenemases (KPC, OXA-48) and metallo-β-lactamases (VIM, IMP, NDM) was determined by real-time PCR. K. pneumoniae clinical isolates were genotyped and assigned to the known clonal complexes (CC) and sequence types (ST) using SNP typing and multilocus sequencing typing (MLST) methods. K- and O-serotypes, acquired resistance and virulence genes, and plasmids carrying these genes were characterized using whole-genome sequencing of selected isolates (n = 215). Results. The resistance rates of nosocomial/community-acquired isolates of K. pneumoniae were as follows: amoxicillin-clavulanate – 88.63/57.99%, piperacillin-tazobactam – 82.92/45.49%, cefotaxime – 87.74/56.97%, ceftazidime – 84.76/53.07%, cefepime – 81.43/49.18%, aztreonam – 1.63/53.28%, ceftazidime-avibactam – 30, 88/9.22%, ceftolozan-tazobactam – 70.06/31.35%, ertapenem – 72.10/28.69%, meropenem – 49.60/15.16%, imipenem – 44.54/13.73%, gentamicin – 60.82/30.33%, amikacin – 42.06/17.21%, ciprofloxacin – 85.10/49.39%; trimethoprimsulfamethoxazole – 74.38/48.16%, colistin – 5.96/2.25%. The resistance of nosocomial/outpatient isolates of E. coli were: ampicillin – 84.93/67.67%, amoxicillin-clavulanate – 57.37/39.73%, piperacillin-tazobactam – 19.48/8.70%, cefotaxime – 63.83/34.19%, ceftazidime – 45.32/20.34%, cefepime – 35.95/16.61%, aztreonam – 51.78/26.11%, ceftazidime-avibactam – 5.71/0.80%, ceftolozane-tazobactam – 11, 95/2.22%, ertapenem – 8.18/1.42%, meropenem – 5.17/0.53%, imipenem – 4.95/0.36%, gentamicin – 24.54/13.68%, amikacin – 5.49/1.42%, ciprofloxacin – 54, 14/32.50%, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole – 52.21/38.54%, fosfomycin – 2.48/1.43%, colistin – 1.60/1.07%, tigecycline – 6.35/3.11%. The frequency of carbapenemase production among K. pneumoniae nosocomial isolates was 65.32% (OXA-48 – 40.75%, NDM – 30.28%, KPC – 8.74%, OXA-48 + NDM – 10.62%, OXA-48 + KPC – 2.98%, NDM + KPC – 0.45%, OXA-48 + NDM + KPC – 0.20%). More than 70% of nosocomial isolates of K. pneumoniae belonged to only 7 major genetic lineages known as “high-risk international clones”: CC395 – 37.40%, CC23 – 9.59%, CC307 – 8.64%, CC147 – 7.61%, CC15 – 2.95%, CC258 – 2.92%, and CC11 – 2.41%. The population of community-acquired K. pneumoniae was characterized by significantly greater genetic diversity (Simpson diversity index: D = 0.919; 95% CI: 0.904 to 0.933) compared with the population of nosocomial strains (Simpson diversity index: D = 0.815; 95% CI: 0.802 to 0.827). Strains of the “hypervirulent” genetic lineage of K. pneumoniae CC23 were more common in community-acquired infections. Conclusions. The extremely high frequency of resistance to cephalosporins in K. pneumoniae (> 80%) and E. coli (> 60%), as well as the high frequency of combined resistance to aminoglycosides and fluoroquinolones precludes their empirical use for the treatment of serious nosocomial infections caused by these pathogens. K. pneumoniae shows a rapid increase in resistance to carbapenems, mainly due to the spread of carbapenemases of three major groups: OXA-48, NDM and KPC. The overall increase in the frequency of carbapenemase production is accompanied by the growing diversity of carbapenemases, the increasing prevalence of strains producing NDM and KPC enzymes and those co-producing multiple carbapenemases simultaneously. In community-acquired infections, the high prevalence of resistance to cephalosporins in E. coli (> 30%) and K. pneumoniae (> 50%) remains the most important problem.

Abstract: Nowadays, the formation of intelligent transportation systems is taking place, allowing to increase the efficiency of transportation through the use of innovative technologies. Methods and means of simulation modeling have gained considerable popularity among them, allowing to increase the accuracy of forecasting and efficiency of management decisionmaking. The purpose of this article is to develop the directions of application of simulation modeling in the field of passenger transport infrastructure management. The article presents the results of applied research using simulation modeling tools of passenger transport infrastructure objects. Based on these results, the effects of using simulation modeling methods in the management of passenger transport system are systematized. In order to achieve the research goal, a review of scientific works was conducted, the areas of application of simulation modeling in the management of passenger transport infrastructure were specified, the effects of using simulation modeling methods and tools were analyzed and generalized. The results of the research can be useful to transport organizations, state regulation bodies on transport and organizers of transportation. They can be used in the construction of scenarios for the development of transport infrastructure objects to improve the quality of service to the population and to ensure the effectiveness of management decisions on transport.

Abstract: Objective. To determine spectrum and prevalence of genetic determinants of resistance to macrolides in Mycoplasma genitalium in a Russian patient population. Materials and Methods. A total of 873 M. genitalium-positive samples from five geographical regions of Russia were investigated over the period of 2009–2019 using the previously developed protocol of real-time polymerase chain reaction (allows detecting any nucleotide substitutions in the 23S rRNA gene of M. genitalium at positions 2058, 2059, and 2611). The results were confirmed using Sanger sequencing. Results. The most frequent mutations associated with resistance to macrolides in M. genitalium were the following: A2058G (60.5%) and A2059G (30.2%). The relatively rare mutations were A2058T (7%) and C2611T (2.3%). In the studied period, there was no trend to increase in frequency of mutations associated with resistance to macrolides. The study results are presented as an open project on the AMRcloud platform (https://amrcloud.net/ru/project/demares/). Conclusions. Our data emphasize a need to introduce regular screening of M. genitalium-positive samples for the presence of macrolide resistance-associated mutations into clinical practice.

Abstract: Indirect dark matter detection methods are used to observe the products of dark matter annihilations or decays originating from astrophysical objects where large amounts of dark matter are thought to accumulate. With neutrino telescopes, an excess of neutrinos is searched for in nearby dark matter reservoirs, such as the Sun and the Galactic Centre, which could potentially produce a sizeable flux of Standard Model particles. The KM3NeT infrastructure, currently under construction, comprises the ARCA and ORCA undersea \v{C}erenkov neutrino detectors located at two different sites in the Mediterranean Sea, offshore of Italy and France, respectively. The two detector configurations are optimised for the detection of neutrinos of different energies, enabling the search for dark matter particles with masses ranging from a few GeV/c$^2$ to hundreds of TeV/c$^2$. In this work, searches for dark matter annihilations in the Galactic Centre and the Sun with data samples taken with the first configurations of both detectors are presented. No significant excess over the expected background was found in either of the two analyses. Limits on the velocity-averaged self-annihilation cross section of dark matter particles are computed for five different primary annihilation channels in the Galactic Centre. For the Sun, limits on the spin-dependent and spin-independent scattering cross sections of dark matter with nucleons are given for three annihilation channels.

Abstract: The KM3NeT Collaboration has tackled a common challenge faced by the astroparticle physics community, namely adapting the experiment-specific simulation software to work with the CORSIKA air shower simulation output. The proposed solution is an extension of the open-source code gSeaGen, allowing for the transport of muons generated by CORSIKA to a detector of any size at an arbitrary depth. The gSeaGen code was not only extended in terms of functionalities but also underwent a thorough redesign of the muon propagation routine, resulting in a more accurate and efficient simulation. Abstract: Blazars are beamed active galactic nuclei known for their strong multi-wavelength variability on timescales from years down to minutes. We aim to investigate the suitability of the twisting jet model presented in previous works to explain the multi-wavelength behaviour of BL Lacertae, the prototype of one of the blazar classes. According to this model, the jet is inhomogeneous, curved, and twisting, and the long-term variability is due to changes in the Doppler factor due to variations in the orientation of the jet-emitting regions. We analysed optical data of the source obtained during monitoring campaigns organised by the Whole Earth Blazar Telescope (WEBT) in 2019-2022, together with radio data from the WEBT and other teams, and gamma-ray data from the Fermi satellite. In this period, BL Lacertae underwent an extraordinary activity phase, reaching its historical optical and gamma-ray brightness maxima. The application of the twisting jet model to the source light curves allows us to infer the wiggling motion of the optical, radio, and gamma-ray jet-emitting regions. The optical-radio correlation shows that the changes in the radio viewing angle follow those in the optical viewing angle by about 120 days, and it suggests that the jet is composed of plasma filaments, which is in agreement with some radio high-resolution observations of other sources. The gamma-ray emitting region is found to be co-spatial with the optical one, and the analysis of the gamma-optical correlation is consistent with both the geometric interpretation and a synchrotron self-Compton (SSC) origin of the high-energy photons. We propose a geometric scenario where the jet is made up of a pair of emitting plasma filaments in a sort of double-helix curved rotating structure, whose wiggling motion produces changes in the Doppler beaming and can thus explain the observed multi-wavelength long-term variability., Comment: In press for A&A

8. Observation of Temperature-Dependent Capture Cross-Section for Main Deep-Levels in $\beta$-Ga2O3

Abstract: Direct observation of capture cross-section is challenging due to the need of extremely short filling pulses in the two-gate Deep-Level Transient Spectroscopy (DLTS). Simple estimation of cross-section can be done from DLTS and Admittance Spectroscopy (AS) data, but it is not feasible to distinguish temperature dependence of pre-exponential and exponential parts of the emission rate equation with sufficient precision conducting a single experiment. This paper presents experimental data of deep-levels in $\beta$-Ga2O3 that has been gathered by our group since 2017. Based on the gathered data we propose a derivation of apparent activation energy ($E_a^m$) and capture cross-section ($\sigma_n^m$) assuming temperature dependent capture via multiphonon emission model, which resulted in strong correlation between $E_a^m$ and $\sigma_n^m$ according to Meyer-Neldel rule, which allowed us to estimate low- and high-temperature capture coefficients $C_0$ and $C_1$ as well as capture barrier $E_b$. It also has been shown that without considering the temperature dependence of capture cross-section, the experimental values of $\sigma_n$ are overestimated by 1-3 orders of magnitude. A careful consideration of the data also allows to be more certain identifying deep-levels by their "fingerprints" ($E_a$ and $\sigma_n$) considering two additional parameters ($E_{MN}$ and $\sigma_{00}$) and to verify the density functional theory (DFT) computation of deep-level recombination properties.

Abstract: Neutrinos described as an open quantum system may interact with the environment which introduces stochastic perturbations to their quantum phase. This mechanism leads to a loss of coherence along the propagation of the neutrino $-$ a phenomenon commonly referred to as decoherence $-$ and ultimately, to a modification of the oscillation probabilities. Fluctuations in space-time, as envisaged by various theories of quantum gravity, are a potential candidate for a decoherence-inducing environment. Consequently, the search for decoherence provides a rare opportunity to investigate quantum gravitational effects which are usually beyond the reach of current experiments. In this work, quantum decoherence effects are searched for in neutrino data collected by the KM3NeT/ORCA detector from January 2020 to November 2021. The analysis focuses on atmospheric neutrinos within the energy range of a few GeV to $100\,\mathrm{GeV}$. Adopting the open quantum system framework, decoherence is described in a phenomenological manner with the strength of the effect given by the parameters $\Gamma_{21}$ and $\Gamma_{31}$. Following previous studies, a dependence of the type $\Gamma_{ij} \propto (E/E_0)^n$ on the neutrino energy is assumed and the cases $n = -2,-1$ are explored. No significant deviation with respect to the standard oscillation hypothesis is observed. Therefore, $90\,\%$ CL upper limits are estimated as $\Gamma_{21} < 4.6\cdot 10^{-21}\,$GeV and $\Gamma_{31} < 8.4\cdot 10^{-21}\,$GeV for $n = -2$, and $\Gamma_{21} < 1.9\cdot 10^{-22}\,$GeV and $\Gamma_{31} < 2.7\cdot 10^{-22}\,$GeV for $n = -1$, respectively., Comment: 17 pages, 5 figures

10. Newton Meets Marchenko-Pastur: Massively Parallel Second-Order Optimization with Hessian Sketching and Debiasing

Abstract: Motivated by recent advances in serverless cloud computing, in particular the "function as a service" (FaaS) model, we consider the problem of minimizing a convex function in a massively parallel fashion, where communication between workers is limited. Focusing on the case of a twice-differentiable objective subject to an L2 penalty, we propose a scheme where the central node (server) effectively runs a Newton method, offloading its high per-iteration cost -- stemming from the need to invert the Hessian -- to the workers. In our solution, workers produce independently coarse but low-bias estimates of the inverse Hessian, using an adaptive sketching scheme. The server then averages the descent directions produced by the workers, yielding a good approximation for the exact Newton step. The main component of our adaptive sketching scheme is a low-complexity procedure for selecting the sketching dimension, an issue that was left largely unaddressed in the existing literature on Hessian sketching for distributed optimization. Our solution is based on ideas from asymptotic random matrix theory, specifically the Marchenko-Pastur law. For Gaussian sketching matrices, we derive non asymptotic guarantees for our algorithm which are essentially dimension-free. Lastly, when the objective is self-concordant, we provide convergence guarantees for the approximate Newton's method with noisy Hessians, which may be of independent interest beyond the setting considered in this paper.

11. Electron Beam Characterization of REBCO-Coated Conductors at Cryogenic Conditions

Abstract: Particle accelerators with superconducting magnets operating at cryogenic temperatures use a beam screen (BS) liner that extracts heat generated by the circulating bunched charge particle beam before it can reach the magnets. The BS surface, commonly made of high-conductivity copper, provides a low impedance for beam stability reasons, low secondary electron yield (SEY)to mitigate the electron-cloud (EC) effect, and low electron-stimulated desorption yield (ESD) to limit the dynamic pressure rise due to EC. Rare-earth barium copper oxide (REBCO) high-temperature superconductors (HTs) recently reached technical maturity, are produced as coated conductor tapes (REBCO-CCs), and will be considered for application in future colliders to decrease the BS impedance and enable operation at around 50 K, consequently relaxing the cryogenic requirements. Aside from HTS properties, industry-grade REBCO-CCs also need qualification for EC and dynamic vacuum compatibility under accelerator-like conditions. Hence, we report the SEY and ESD measured at cryogenic temperatures of 12 K under low-energy electron irradiation of 0 - 1.4 keV. We also verify the sample compositions and morphologies using XPS, SEM, and EDS methods. The energy and dose dependencies of ESD are comparable to those of technical-grade metals and one sample reached SEY$_{MAX}=$1.2 after electron conditioning.

12. Susceptibility of clinical Enterobacterales and Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates to ceftazidimeavibactam in Russia: multicenter local laboratory databased surveillance

Abstract: Objective. To assess the in vitro activity of ceftazidime-avibactam against clinical Enterobacterales and Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates in various regions of Russia based on results of local susceptibility testing by disk diffusion method. Materials and Methods. Overall, 160 laboratories located in 61 Russian cities participated in this surveillance during 2018-2020. All consecutive clinical isolates of Enterobacterales and Pseudomonas aeruginosa in each participating laboratory were included in the study. Ceftazidime-avibactam susceptibility testing was done by disc-diffusion method in accordance with current EUCAST recommendations. Susceptibility data for carbapenems and III-IV generation cephalosporins, as well as results of carbapenemases detection, were also reported, if available. All the data were recorded in electronic case report form developed on the OpenClinica online platform (www.openclinica.com). Data analysis and reporting were done using AMRcloud online platform (https://amrcloud.net/). Results. In total, we received information on antimicrobial susceptibility of 22,121 isolates, including 17,456 (78.9%) Enterobacterales and 4,665 (21.1%) P. aeruginosa. Less than 9% of Enterobacterales isolates were resistant to ceftazidime-avibactam. At the same time rates of resistance to ceftazidime, cefotaxime, cefepime, ertapenem, imipenem, and meropenem were 54.1%, 58.9%, 59.4%, 41.4%, 23.9%, and 21.3%. Among Enterobacterales the highest level of resistance to ceftazidime-avibactam was detected in K. pneumoniae (16.5%), lowest – in E. coli (2.1%). Some increase of resistance to ceftazidimeavibactam was noted during the study – from 7.8% in 2018-2019 to 9.6% in 2020 (p = 0.0001). Rate of resistance to ceftazidime-avibactam in P. aeruginosa was 33.1%. At the same time rates of resistance to ceftazidime, cefepime, imipenem, and meropenem were 51.1%, 54.5%, 50%, and 47.3%. During the study there was statistically significant decrease in resistance to ceftazidime-avibactam in P. aeruginosa (p = 0.0001). Resistance rates for all beta-lactams for both Enterobacterales and P. aeruginosa were higher in nosocomial isolates than in community-acquired isolates. Conclusions. Ceftazidime-avibactam demonstrated significantly higher in vitro activity against Enterobacterales and P. aeruginosa Russian clinical isolates comparing with commonly used carbapenems and extended spectrum cephalosporins. Abstract: In November 2019 the joint group of researcers from the Department of State Protection of Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Institution of History, Language and Literature of Ufa Federal Research Center of Russian Academy of Science has conducted archaeological exploration with the aim to find new monuments of the Middle Ages in the Kushnarenkovsky district of the Republic of Bashkortostan. As a result of this exploration Taganaevo 5 settlement was discovered. Collection of materials found in the course of the test pits drilling consist of animal bones, fragments of pottery and handbuilt ceramics, clay coatening, hand forged nails, a fragment of the iron knife and a lithic core. Taganaevo 5 presents itself a multilayer site. The upper strata of its’ cultural layer refer to the ethnographic time dating back to the 19th century, middle strata contain ceramics of Bahmutino and Kushnarenkovo cultures (V-VII ) and at the lower strata have ceramics of the Srubnaya archaeological culture related to the era of the late Bronze Age and the Eneolithic (Agidel culture). Exploraion works which are aimed at finding new archaeologial sites in the forest-steppe zone of the Cis-Urals as well as the cultural and chronological attribution of these sites contribute greatly to the accomulation of a source base for an archaeological map showing resettlement of the representatives of the Agidel ceramics culture and representatives of the Srubnaya, Kushnarenkovo and Bahmutino ceramics types. As well as the location and spread of the settlements (historical sites, villages and auls) during the Modern Age.

Abstract: We present a detailed study of the MASTER OT J030227.28+191754.5 outburst in 2021-2022, reaching an amplitude of 10.2 mag and a duration of 60 d. The detections of (1) the double-peaked optical emission lines, and (2) the early and ordinary superhumps, established that MASTER OT J030227.28+191754.5 is an extremely energetic WZ Sge-type dwarf nova (DN). Based on the superhump observations, we obtained its orbital period and mass ratio as 0.05986(1) d and 0.063(1), respectively. These are within a typical range of low-mass-ratio DNe. According to the binary parameters derived based on the thermal-tidal instability model, our analyses showed that (1) the standard disk model requires an accretion rate $\simeq$ 10$^{20}$ g s$^{-1}$ to explain its peak optical luminosity and (2) large mass was stored in the disk at the outburst onset. These cannot be explained solely by the impact of its massive ($\gtrsim$ 1.15 M$_\odot$) primary white dwarf implied by Kimura et al. (2023). Instead, we propose that the probable origin of this enormously energetic DN outburst is the even lower quiescence viscosity than other WZ Sge-type DNe. This discussion is qualitatively valid for most possible binary parameter spaces unless the inclination is low ($\lesssim 40^\circ$) enough for the disk to be bright explaining the outburst amplitude. Such low inclinations, however, would not allow detectable amplitude of early superhumps in the current thermal-tidal instability model. The optical spectra at outburst maximum showed the strong emission lines of Balmer, He I, and He II series whose core is narrower than $\sim 800$ km s$^{-1}$. Abstract: KM3NeT/ORCA is a water Cherenkov neutrino detector under construction and anchored at the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea. The detector is designed to study oscillations of atmospheric neutrinos and determine the neutrino mass ordering. This paper focuses on an initial configuration of ORCA, referred to as ORCA6, which comprises six out of the foreseen 115 detection units of photo-sensors. A high-purity neutrino sample was extracted, corresponding to an exposure of 433 kton-years. The sample of 5828 neutrino candidates is analysed following a binned log-likelihood method in the reconstructed energy and cosine of the zenith angle. The atmospheric oscillation parameters are measured to be $\sin^2\theta_{23}= 0.51^{+0.04}_{-0.05}$, and $ \Delta m^2_{31} = 2.18^{+0.25}_{-0.35}\times 10^{-3}~\mathrm{eV^2} \cup \{-2.25,-1.76\}\times 10^{-3}~\mathrm{eV^2}$ at 68\% CL. 17. Near-Isotropic Sub-{\AA}ngstrom 3D Resolution Phase Contrast Imaging Achieved by End-to-End Ptychographic Electron Tomography

Abstract: Three-dimensional atomic resolution imaging using transmission electron microscopes is a unique capability that requires challenging experiments. Linear electron tomography methods are limited by the missing wedge effect, requiring a high tilt range. Multislice ptychography can achieve deep sub-{\AA}ngstrom resolution in the transverse direction, but the depth resolution is limited to 2 to 3 nanometers. In this paper, we propose and demonstrate an end-to-end approach to reconstructing the electrostatic potential volume of the sample directly from the 4D-STEM datasets. End-to-end multi-slice ptychographic tomography recovers several slices at each tomography tilt angle and compensates for the missing wedge effect. The algorithm is initially tested in simulation with a Pt@$\mathrm{Al_2O_3}$ core-shell nanoparticle, where both heavy and light atoms are recovered in 3D from an unaligned 4D-STEM tilt series with a restricted tilt range of 90 degrees. We also demonstrate the algorithm experimentally, recovering a Te nanoparticle with sub-{\AA}ngstrom resolution.

18. Two proofs of a Jantzen Conjecture for Whittaker Modules

Abstract: We define a filtration of a standard Whittaker module over a complex semisimple Lie algebra and and establish its fundamental properties. Our filtration specialises to the Jantzen filtration of a Verma module for a certain choice of parameter. We prove that embeddings of standard Whittaker modules are strict with respect to our filtration, and that the filtration layers are semisimple. This provides a generalisation of the Jantzen conjectures to Whittaker modules. We prove these statements in two ways. First, we give an algebraic proof which compares Whittaker modules to Verma modules using a functor introduced by Backelin. Second, we give a geometric proof using mixed twistor $\mathcal{D}$-modules.

Abstract: The spin-exotic hybrid meson $\pi_{1}(1600)$ is predicted to have a large decay rate to the $\omega\pi\pi$ final state. Using 76.6~pb$^{-1}$ of data collected with the GlueX detector, we measure the cross sections for the reactions $\gamma p \to \omega \pi^+ \pi^- p$, $\gamma p \to \omega \pi^0 \pi^0 p$, and $\gamma p\to\omega\pi^-\pi^0\Delta^{++}$ in the range $E_\gamma =$ 8-10 GeV. Using isospin conservation, we set the first upper limits on the photoproduction cross sections of the $\pi^{0}_{1}(1600)$ and $\pi^{-}_{1}(1600)$. We combine these limits with lattice calculations of decay widths and find that photoproduction of $\eta'\pi$ is the most sensitive two-body system to search for the $\pi_1(1600)$., Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures plus supplemental materials

20. The rates of mutations associated with macrolide resistance in Mycoplasma genitalium among patients with non-gonococcal sexually transmitted infections in Smolensk and Tula

Abstract: Objective. In this study, we examined the prevalence of macrolide-resistant M. genitalium in two Russian cities, Smolensk and Tula, between 2013 and 2017. Materials and Methods. DNA’s samples were isolated from urethral and cervicovaginal swabs using primary screening and tested for macrolide resistance-associated mutations by real-time PCR. This technology makes it possible to identify any nucleotide substitutions in the 23S rRNA M. genitalium gene at positions 2058, 2059, 2611 M. genitalium by melting curve analysis after the amplification. Results. According to the study in two cities (Smolensk and Tula) macrolide resistance-associated mutations were found in 3, 65% of isolates (21/574). The A2058G transition 23S rRNA MGE was the most common mutation that is associated with macrolide resistance: 5/12 (41.6%) – Smolensk, 8/9 (88.8%) – Tula. Rare substitutions have been reported at position A2058T 23S rRNA MGE and at position C2611T23S rRNA MGE. All received data is published at the AntiMicrobial Resistance Map (AMRmap) (http://AMRmap.com). Conclusions. According to our study, the frequency of macrolide-resistance mutations in M. genitalium was not more than 4% in two cities of Central Russia during 2013–2017. Despite the relatively low rates of resistance of M. genitalium to macrolides in Smolensk and Tula, our data emphasize the need for epidemiological surveillance of resistance in this pathogen.

Abstract: High-significance evidences of the existence of a high-energy diffuse flux of cosmic neutrinos have emerged in the last decade from several observations by the IceCube Collaboration. The ANTARES neutrino telescope took data for 15 years in the Mediterranean Sea, from 2007 to 2022, and collected a high-purity all-flavour neutrino sample. The search for a diffuse cosmic neutrino signal using this dataset is presented in this article. This final analysis did not provide a statistically significant observation of the cosmic diffuse flux. However, this is converted into limits on the properties of the cosmic neutrino spectrum. In particular, given the sensitivity of the ANTARES neutrino telescope between 1 and 50 TeV, constraints on single-power-law hypotheses are derived for the cosmic diffuse flux below 20 TeV, especially for power-law fits of the IceCube data with spectral index softer than 2.8.

Abstract: Ionization profile monitors (IPMs) are widely used in accelerators for non-destructive and fast diagnostics of high energy particle beams. Two such monitors - one vertical and one horizontal - are being developed for installation in the IOTA storage ring at Fermilab. They will be used for turn-by-turn (microseconds scale) measurements of the 70 MeV/c IOTA proton beam sizes. Abstract: We measure the spin-density matrix elements (SDMEs) of the $\Delta^{++}(1232)$ in the photoproduction reaction $\gamma p \to \pi^-\Delta^{++}(1232)$ with the GlueX experiment in Hall D at Jefferson Lab. The measurement uses a linearly--polarized photon beam with energies from $8.2$ to $8.8$~GeV and the statistical precision of the SDMEs exceeds the previous measurement by three orders of magnitude for the momentum transfer squared region below $1.4$ GeV$^2$. The data are sensitive to the previously undetermined relative sign between couplings in existing Regge-exchange models. Linear combinations of the extracted SDMEs allow for a decomposition into natural and unnatural--exchange amplitudes. We find that the unnatural exchange plays an important role in the low momentum transfer region.

24. Proton beam dynamics in bare IOTA with intense space-charge

Abstract: We are commissioning a 2.5-MeV proton beam for the Integrable Optics Test Accelerator at Fermilab, allowing experiments in the strong space-charge regime with incoherent betatron tune shifts nearing 0.5. Accurate modelling of space-charge dynamics is vital for understanding planned experiments. We compare anticipated emittance growth and beam loss in the bare IOTA configuration using transverse space-charge models in Xsuite, PyORBIT, and MADX simulation codes. Our findings reveal agreement within a factor of 2 in core phase-space density predictions up to 100 synchrotron periods at moderate beam currents, while tail distributions and beam loss show significant differences., Comment: IPAC'24 - 15th International Particle Accelerator Conference

25. The High-Dimensional Asymptotics of Principal Component Regression

Abstract: We study principal components regression (PCR) in an asymptotic high-dimensional regression setting, where the number of data points is proportional to the dimension. We derive exact limiting formulas for the estimation and prediction risks, which depend in a complicated manner on the eigenvalues of the population covariance, the alignment between the population PCs and the true signal, and the number of selected PCs. A key challenge in the high-dimensional setting stems from the fact that the sample covariance is an inconsistent estimate of its population counterpart, so that sample PCs may fail to fully capture potential latent low-dimensional structure in the data. We demonstrate this point through several case studies, including that of a spiked covariance model. To calculate the asymptotic prediction risk, we leverage tools from random matrix theory which to our knowledge have not seen much use to date in the statistics literature: multi-resolvent traces and their associated eigenvector overlap measures.

Abstract: Position calibration in the deep sea is typically done by means of acoustic multilateration using three or more acoustic emitters installed at known positions. Rather than using hydrophones as receivers that are exposed to the ambient pressure, the sound signals can be coupled to piezo ceramics glued to the inside of existing containers for electronics or measuring instruments of a deep sea infrastructure. The ANTARES neutrino telescope operated from 2006 until 2022 in the Mediterranean Sea at a depth exceeding 2000m. It comprised nearly 900 glass spheres with 432mm diameter and 15mm thickness, equipped with photomultiplier tubes to detect Cherenkov light from tracks of charged elementary particles. In an experimental setup within ANTARES, piezo sensors have been glued to the inside of such - otherwise empty - glass spheres. These sensors recorded signals from acoustic emitters with frequencies from 46545 to 60235Hz. Two waves propagating through the glass sphere are found as a result of the excitation by the waves in the water. These can be qualitatively associated with symmetric and asymmetric Lamb-like waves of zeroth order: a fast (early) one with $v_e \approx 5$mm/$\mu$s and a slow (late) one with $v_\ell \approx 2$mm/$\mu$s. Taking these findings into account improves the accuracy of the position calibration. The results can be transferred to the KM3NeT neutrino telescope, currently under construction at multiple sites in the Mediterranean Sea, for which the concept of piezo sensors glued to the inside of glass spheres has been adapted for monitoring the positions of the photomultiplier tubes., Comment: submitted to "Experimental Astronomy"

At each step in the computation, we illustrate the $\mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathbb{C})$-module structure on global sections to give an algebraic picture of this geometric computation. Abstract: CW magnetrons, initially developed for industrial RF heaters, were suggested to power RF cavities of superconducting accelerators due to their higher efficiency and lower cost than traditionally used klystrons, IOTs or solid-state amplifiers. RF amplifiers driven by a master oscillator serve as coherent RF sources. CW magnetrons are regenerative RF generators with a huge regenerative gain. This causes regenerative instability with a large noise when a magnetron operates with the anode voltage above the threshold of self-excitation. Traditionally for stabilization of magnetrons is used injection locking by a quite small signal. Then the magnetron except the injection locked oscillations may generate noise. This may preclude use of standard CW magnetrons in some SRF accelerators. Recently we developed briefly described below a mode for forced RF generation of CW magnetrons when the magnetron startup is provided by the injected forcing signal and the regenerative noise is suppressed. Abstract: Gamma-ray bursts are promising candidate sources of high-energy astrophysical neutrinos. The recent GRB 221009A event, identified as the brightest gamma-ray burst ever detected, provides a unique opportunity to investigate hadronic emissions involving neutrinos. The KM3NeT undersea neutrino detectors participated in the worldwide follow-up effort triggered by the event, searching for neutrino events. In this letter, we summarize subsequent searches, in a wide energy range from MeV up to a few PeVs. No neutrino events are found in any of the searches performed. Abstract: In the rapidly progressing field of generative models, the development of efficient and high-fidelity text-to-image diffusion systems represents a significant frontier. This study introduces YaART, a novel production-grade text-to-image cascaded diffusion model aligned to human preferences using Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF). During the development of YaART, we especially focus on the choices of the model and training dataset sizes, the aspects that were not systematically investigated for text-to-image cascaded diffusion models before. In particular, we comprehensively analyze how these choices affect both the efficiency of the training process and the quality of the generated images, which are highly important in practice. Furthermore, we demonstrate that models trained on smaller datasets of higher-quality images can successfully compete with those trained on larger datasets, establishing a more efficient scenario of diffusion models training. Abstract: This paper presents the study of oxide film heterojunction made of CuAlCrO2 and ZnO:Al (AZO) deposited on fused quartz by sol-gel spin coating. Transmission electronmicroscopy (TEM) analysis has showed that the solvent, which was used to prepare the AZO sol, affects the thickness and planarity of the applied layers and the grain size of the polycrystalline film. The formation of a fine-grained structure of AZO films (grain size is up to 12 nm) leads to the formation of a smoother p-CuAlCrO2 / n-AZO heterojunction. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and TEM have revealed that the heterojunction was formed by AZO polycrystals, which orient axes [101] and [100] against the [101] and [006] directions in CuAlCrO2 polycrystals. The optical transmission of the heterojunction in the visible range reached 70 %. The current -voltage (I-V) characteristics of p-CuAlCrO2 / n-AZO corresponds to a diode one in the range from 4 up to 4 V. For the large values of the reverse bias, an increase in the leakage current is observed, which is associated with tunneling breakdown of heterojunction. The ideality factor of fabricated p-CuAlCrO2 / n-AZO heterojunction is more than 2, which indicates the mechanisms of conductivity by defect-levels. In additional, it has been observed the response of the current-voltage characteristics to the green illumination (532 nm) of the diode that is associated with indirect band-gap absorption in CuAlCrO2. The impact of the white LED illumination had no effect on the current-voltage characteristics of the diode.

Abstract: Graphene crystals, containing arrays of disclination defects, are modeled and their energies are calculated using molecular dynamics (MD) simulation technique. Two cases are analyzed in details: (i) pseudo-graphenes, which contain the alternating sign disclination ensembles and (ii) graphene with periodic distribution of disclination quadrupoles. Electronic band structures of disclinated graphene crystals are calculated in the framework of density functional theory (DFT) approach. The evolution of the Dirac cone and magnitude of band gap in the band structure reveal a dependence on the density of disclination quadrupoles and alternating sign disclinations. The electronic properties of graphene with disclination ensembles are discussed.

Abstract: The paper presents the investigation of lithium-potassium-alumoborate glasses (0- 25 mol.% Li2O) doped by copper ions. The effect of glass annealing on the Raman scattering patterns is discussed. It is shown that such an annealing results in drastic changes in the Raman scattering patterns for the glass with 10 mol.%of Li2O: the band at 481 cm-1 conventionally attributed to boron-oxygen bonds in metaborate rings disappears, while a set of narrow bands at 1236, 1500, and 1783 cm-1 is observed. We consider one of these bands, 1783 cm-1, as being the identifier of the formed Li(Al7B4O17) nanophase, XRD analysis supported the above suggestion. The effect of newly formed nanophase on the luminescence spectra is discussed.

45. Peculiarities of using steam-convection oven for production of bakery products

Abstract: The article presents the results of research on the peculiarities of proofing and baking bakery products using a steam-convection oven for continuous proofing and baking. The aim of the work was to develop recommendations for setting parameters for production of bakery products in the steam-convection oven at continuous proofing of dough pieces and bakery products. For control samples baking the author used a proofing box for final proofing and a convection oven. The analysis of the structural and mechanical properties of crumb was made using device «Strukturometer-1», and loss of weight after baking was measured using standard methods. Intensity and color uniformity of crust were determined applying an ingenious method using flatbed scanner. Automatic recorder monitored the temperature in the baking chamber and inside the baked dough pieces. To determine the changes in product volume and proportion of the formed crumb during baking process, an original optical method was used. As a result of the research the author determined that there is a dependence of the dynamics of baked dough pieces quality indicators on proofing and baking parameters. It is shown that the main differences are observed during the first baking period. The detected regularities are associated with smooth heating of the steam-convection oven baking chamber and high relative humidity of the medium at the beginning of baking process. When using a steam-convection oven, the crusts had uneven color which is obviously due to condensation of a large amount of moisture on the surface during the initial baking period and, consequently, different rates of heating of individual parts of the crust. By the moment when baking process was over control samples and developed samples had insufficient differences concerning structural, mechanical and physicochemical parameters. It was determined that in case of continuous proofing and baking in steam-convection oven it is necessary to extend the baking process and increase dough humidity compared to traditional baking method.

46. Copper Pentagonal Micropyramids Grown by Mechanically Activated Electrodeposition

Abstract: The formation of copper pentagonal micropyramids (PMPs) with high (multiatomic) spiral growth steps, which are grown by electrocrystallization with mechanical activation of the cathode, is studied experimentally. A new spiral-layer growth mechanism for the formation of such PMP is proposed. It is shown that PMPs grow on flat pentagonal microcrystals (PMCs) formed initially and containing fivefold twins with one of the twin boundaries being inclined by the angle of 35°16’ to the {110}-type substrate crystallographic plane. Such crystal geometry causes an inclined growth step on the PMC surface. The preferential deposition of metal atoms on this step leads to the spiral-layer PMC growth and the formation of PMPs with a structure inherited from the PMCs.

Abstract: A screw dislocation perpendicular to free surfaces and an interface in a two-phase plate, and a screw dislocation piercing a two-phase hollow sphere are considered. The analytical solutions of the boundary-value problems have been found for the first time with the help of the virtual defects technique. Elastic fields of the screw dislocation in the plate are presented in the form of integrals with Bessel functions. Elastic fields of the screw dislocation in the hollow sphere have the form of series with Legendre polynomials. Stress distributions in both of the considered geometries are plotted. The influence of the geometric parameters of the considered solids and the ratio of the shear moduli on the stresses is analyzed. Abstract: High-energy neutrinos could be produced in the interaction of charged cosmic rays with matter or radiation surrounding astrophysical sources. To look for transient sources associated with neutrino emission, a follow-up program of neutrino alerts has been operating within the ANTARES Collaboration since 2009. This program, named TAToO, has triggered robotic optical telescopes (MASTER, TAROT, ROTSE and the SVOM ground based telescopes) immediately after the detection of any relevant neutrino candidate and scheduled several observations in the weeks following the detection. A subset of ANTARES events with highest probabilities of being of cosmic origin has also been followed by the Swift and the INTEGRAL satellites, the Murchison Widefield Array radio telescope and the H.E.S.S. high-energy gamma-ray telescope. The results of twelve years of observations are reported. No optical counterpart has been significantly associated with an ANTARES candidate neutrino signal during image analysis. Constraints on transient neutrino emission have been set. In September 2015, ANTARES issued a neutrino alert and during the follow-up, a potential transient counterpart was identified by Swift and MASTER. A multi-wavelength follow-up campaign has allowed to identify the nature of this source and has proven its fortuitous association with the neutrino. Abstract: The KM3NeT/ARCA neutrino detector is currently under construction at 3500 m depth offshore Capo Passero, Sicily, in the Mediterranean Sea. The main science objectives are the detection of high-energy cosmic neutrinos and the discovery of their sources. Simulations were conducted for the full KM3NeT/ARCA detector, instrumenting a volume of 1 km$^3$, to estimate the sensitivity and discovery potential to point-like neutrino sources and an all-sky diffuse neutrino flux. This paper covers the reconstruction of track- and shower-like signatures, as well as the criteria employed for neutrino event selection. By leveraging both the track and shower observation channels, the KM3NeT/ARCA detector demonstrates the capability to detect the diffuse astrophysical neutrino flux within half a year of operation, achieving a 5$\sigma$ statistical significance. With an angular resolution below 0.1$^\circ$ for tracks and under 2$^\circ$ for showers, the sensitivity to point-like neutrino sources surpasses existing observed limits across the entire sky., Comment: 20 pages, 30 figures, Published by EPJ-C

Abstract: We present our optical photometric observations of the 2022 eruption of the recurrent nova U Scorpii (U Sco) using 49,152 data points over 70 d following the optical peak. We have also analyzed its soft X-ray (0.3--1 keV) light curve by the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory. During the 2022 eruption, the optical plateau stage started 13.8--15.0 d and ended 23.8--25.0 d after the optical peak. The soft X-ray stage started 14.6--15.3 d and ended 38.7--39.5 d after the optical peak. Both stages started later and had shorter durations, and the soft X-ray light curve peaked earlier and was less luminous compared to those during the U Sco 2010 eruption. These points suggest that there were differences in the envelope mass between the different cycles of the nova eruption. Furthermore, we have analyzed the optical eclipses during the 2022 eruption. The primary eclipse was first observed 10.4--11.6 d after the optical peak, earlier than the beginning of the optical plateau stage. This sequence of events can be explained by the receding ejecta photosphere associated with the expanding nova ejecta. We have determined the ingress and egress phases of the primary eclipses and estimated the outer radius of the optical light source centered at the white dwarf (WD). During the optical plateau stage, the source radius remained $\sim$1.2 times larger than the Roche volume radius of the primary WD, being close to the L1 point. When the optical plateau stage ended, the source radius drastically shrank to the tidal truncation radius within a few orbital periods. This previously unresolved phenomenon can be interpreted as a structural change in U Sco where the temporarily expanded accretion disk due to the nova wind returned to a steady state., Comment: 16 pages, 7 figures, 7 tables, accepted for publication in PASJ; doi:10.1093/pasj/psae010
