Neuropathic pain (NPP) refers to the pain caused by primary or secondary injury or dysfunction of the peripheral or central nervous system, and usually requires multidisciplinary treatment. However, most pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions can only temporarily and/or moderately improve pain-related symptoms, and they often produce unbearable adverse reactions or cause drug resistance. Hyperbaric oxygen (HBO2) therapy has been widely used in the clinical treatment of some diseases due to ABSTRACT its advantages of safety, few side effects, no resistance, and non-invasiveness. In recent years, increasing numbers of basic and clinical studies have been conducted to investigate the efficacy and mechanism of HBO2 in the treatment of NPP, and great progress has been made in this field. In this paper, we briefly introduce the pathogenesis of NPP and therapeutic effects of HBO2 and summarize the mechanisms underlying the effects of HBO2 in treating NPP, which may provide reference for the clinical treatment of pain with HBO2.

To investigate whether inflammatory factors are predictors of acute kidney injury (AKI) in older people in the intensive care unit (ICU). Plasma inflammatory contents of IL-6 and IL-8 can predict AKI in older people. Management of inflammatory factors should take into consideration the age of AKI patients. Plasma inflammatory factors in older people predict acute kidney injury. To investigate whether inflammatory factors are predictors of acute kidney injury (AKI) in older people in the intensive care unit (ICU). We performed a case–control study that included 98 older people (≥ 65 years) who were admitted to ICU from 2013 to 2017. The contents of plasma pro-inflammatory factors [interleukin (IL)-1b, IL-6, IL-8, tumor necrosis factor-a (TNF-α)] and the anti-inflammatory factor IL-10 were determined at the first day of admission. Patients were assessed based on the Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) criteria and were divided into AKI and non-AKI (control) groups (n = 49 for each). T test was applied for differences comparisons in the levels of inflammatory factors between the two groups. Logistic regression was used to identify independent predictors of AKI. AKI patients had significantly elevated plasma contents of IL-6, IL-8 and IL-10, relative to the control group. A strong correlation was observed between IL-6 and IL-8 with AKI (OR 36.4 and 18.2, respectively). For each increase in the natural log unit in the levels of IL-6 and IL-8, the risk of developing AKI augmented by 36.4% and 18.2%, respectively. Moreover, the higher the tertile value of IL-6 and IL-8, the higher the risk of developing AKI. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve for IL-6 and IL-8 was, respectively, 87% and 83% for predicting AKI. Plasma inflammatory contents of IL-6 and IL-8 can predict AKI in older people. Management of inflammatory factors should take into consideration the age of AKI patients.

To investigate the dynamic regulation of self-assembled aggregations (SAA) inThe effects of SAA on berberine (Ber) absorption were respectively analyzed in an in situ intestinal perfusion model and in an Ussing Chamber jejunum model with or without Peyer's patches (PPs). The expression levels of ZO-1, Occludin and Claudin-1 were detected by immunofluorescence to evaluate the tight junction (TJ) between intestinal epithelium cells. The expression levels of T-box-containing protein expressed in T cells, signal transducers and activators of tranion-6, retinoic acid receptor-related orphan receptor γt and forkhead box P3 in PPs were detected by the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and the secretions of interferon-γ (IFN-γ), interleukin-4 (IL-4), interleukin-17 (IL-17) and transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) in PPs were evaluated by immunohistochemistry, to reflect the differentiation of T lymphocyte in PPs to helper T (Th) cell 1, Th2, Th17 and regulatory T (Treg) cell. To confirm the correlation between SAA inSAA inSAA can improve the Ber absorption in small intestine, through the PPs-associated immunity induced dynamic regulation on intestinal tissue permeability and TJ proteins expression. These findings might enlighten the research of traditional Chinese medicine decoction.

The aim of this study was to examine the effects of cloned rat β1 subunit on Nav1.3 function.

In view of the weaknesses on evaluation attributes weighting and distance in traditional TOPSIS, an improved algorithm is proposed. In the procedure of this algorithm, the combinational weights of evaluation attributes determined by REM assembly and entropy weighting so as to take subjective experience and objective data into consideration simultaneously. By using the relative entropy between an alternative and the ideal solution between the alternative and the negative-ideal solution, we define a new relative closeness to the ideal solutions, and the selection of alternative achieved. We built the decision-making model for aviation project’s supplier selection based on improved TOPSIS considering the characteristics of the aviation projects. Results show that it is feasible and effective to be applied to aviation projects.

Technological innovation capability assessment is an important management tool. As the complexity of the process of technological innovation capability at home and abroad which lead how to measure technological innovation has no uniform standard. Considering the complexity of technological innovation capability and some shortcomings of the current evaluation methods this paper designs an evaluation index system which includes three abilities: finance external stakeholder, internal operating level, basic level, and set up a new model for Technological innovation capability evaluation based on GIOWA operator. At last, a case study is provided to verify the model. The research findings offer a workable approach in evaluating Technological innovation capability.

The success of any Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs) is a complicated problem due to its nonlinearity and the quantitative or qualitative network traffic data stream with irrelevant and redundant features. How to choose the effective and key features is very important topic for an intrusion detection problem. Support vector machine (SVM) has been employed to provide potential solutions for the IDSs problem. However, the practicability of SVM is affected due to the difficulty of selecting appropriate SVM parameters. Artificial Bee Colony algorithm (ABC) is an optimization method, which is not only has strong global search capability, but also is very easy to implement. Thus, the proposed ABC-SVM model is applied to determine free parameters of SVM and feature selection at building intrusion detection system. The standard ABC is used to determine free parameters of support vector machine and the binary ABC is to obtain the optimum feature selection for IDSs from KDD Cup 99 data set. The experimental results indicate that the ABC-SVM method can achieve higher accuracy rate than Particle swarm optimization (PSO) and GA-SVM algorithms in the same time.

It is a common phenomenon that children experience multiple general anesthesias in clinical practice, which raises the question whether repeated exposure to general anesthetics would interfere with the development of the central nervous system of children. The present study was designed to evaluate the effects of repeated treatment with ketamine or midazolam on postnatal dendrite development by examining the morphology of the dendritic spines of the pyramidal neurons in the hippocampal CA1 region in mice.The transgenic green fluorescent protein-M line (GFP-M) mice were used in this study. Ketamine (100 mg/kg), midazolam (50 mg/kg) or saline (10 ml/kg) was administered intraperitoneally once a day on consecutive days from postnatal day 8 (P8) to postnatal day 12 (P12). At postnatal day 13 (P13) and postnatal day 30 (P30), the density and length of the apical dendritic spines of the pyramidal neurons in the hippocampal CA1 region were examined under a confocal microscope.At P13, for both the ketamine group and the midazolam group, the dendritic spines were found with a comparatively lower density and longer average length than in the control group. At P30, no significant difference in the density or average length of dendritic spines was found between the anesthetic group and control group.This study indicated that repeated exposure to ketamine or midazolam in neonatal mice impaired dendritic spine maturation immediately afterwards, but this influence seemed to disappear during further postnatal development.
