Background. Basidiobolomycosis is a rare subcutaneous mycosis, which can be mistaken for several other diseases, such as soft tissue tumors, lymphoma, or Buruli ulcer in the preulcerative stage. Microbiological confirmation by PCR for Basidiobolus ranarum and culture yield the most specific diagnosis, yet they are not widely available in endemic areas and with varying sensitivity. A combination of histopathological findings, namely, granulomatous inflammation with giant cells, septate hyphal fragments, and the Splendore-Hoeppli phenomenon, can confirm basidiobolomycosis in patients presenting with painless, hard induration of soft tissue. Case Presentations. We report on three patients misdiagnosed as suffering from Buruli ulcer, who did not respond to Buruli treatment. Histopathological review of the tissue sections from these patients suggests basidiobolomycosis. All patients had been lost to follow-up, and none received antifungal therapy. On visiting the patients at their homes, two were reported to have died of unknown causes. The third patient was found alive and well and had experienced local spontaneous healing. Conclusion. Basidiobolomycosis is a rare subcutaneous fungal disease mimicking preulcerative Buruli ulcer. We stress the importance of the early recognition by clinicians and pathologists of this treatable disease, so patients can timely receive antifungal therapy.

Many approaches exist to estimate heating and cooling energy demand of buildings at city level, but few models are able to consider explicitly all buildings of the domain, and even less can determine hourly—or less—energy demand. This lack is highlighted thanks to a review of the main tools developed. The major ways of improvements are identified thanks to the state of the art of the models used, focusing on the envelope. The final objective is to develop a building model for district or city energy simulation as simple and computationally efficient as possible, able to accurately predict the heating and cooling power demand. First results obtained in this way are shown., Il existe de nombreuses approches permettant de modéliser la demande énergétique en chauffage-refroidissement des bâtiments à l'échelle de la ville, mais peu sont basées sur des représentations explicites de la ville. Parmi celles-ci, encore moins permettent de calculer cette demande à un pas de temps infra-horaire. Ce défaut est mis en évidence à l'aide d'une analyse bibliographique. L'état de l'art permet aussi d'identifier les principaux axes de modélisation à amé-liorer dans cette optique. Nous nous intéressons en particulier à la modélisation de l'enveloppe. L'objectif est de créer un modèle de bâtiment suffisamment simple et numériquement performant pour être utilisé à l'échelle du quartier ou de la ville, tout en garantissant une précision suffisante pour la détermination de l'appel de puissance aussi bien en chauffage qu'en refroidissement. Les premiers résultats obtenus dans ce cadre sont présentés ici.

International audience; A numerical model has been developed in order to accurately simulate the transient thermal behavior of a building (a single room). This model has already been described in (Rodler et al., 2013): the energy balance equations consider irradiation, convection, air enthalpy and three‐dimensional heat conduction. The particularity of the program is that it projects the sun patch on the inner walls.The operative and mean radiant temperature are important parameters for the evaluation of comfort indices. Their calculations require the air temperature values and the surfaces temperatures field which vary in the sunspace as a function of position and disposition of the person. We show the importance of the knowledge of the operative temperature distribution and its consequences on the thermal comfort. The refined 3D model is compared to the one obtained by the classical distribution of the solar radiation with a 1D conduction approach and by assuming all incoming radiation touches the floor. The sun patch impact and its three dimension effect are finally discussed for the comfort evaluation of a low inertia cell.
