Background As the aging population has progressed and oncology treatments have revolutionized, the clinical situation of cardiovascular disease complicating malignancy has become more common, and the field of cardio-oncology has gained much attention. When hematological malignancy is combined with coronary heart disease, the condition can be aggravated by pathological mechanisms such as imbalance of oxygen supply and bleeding coagulation abnormalities. However, the factors affecting the prognosis have rarely been reported. Objective To investigate the influencing factors of all-cause mortality in patients with coronary heart disease combined with hematological malignancies. Methods Data from the medical records of General Hospital of Southern Theater Command between January 2013 and December 2020 were retrieved to select patients whose diagnostic book homepage contained the keywords coronary heart disease or coronary atherosclerotic heart disease and hematological malignancy (leukemia or lymphoma or multiple myeloma) to establish a repository of patients with coronary heart disease combined with hematological malignancy. Patients' clinical data were collected and followed up for survival status, major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) and the occurrence or absence and time of major bleeding events. They were divided into survival and death groups by survival status, and statistical analysis was performed for each indicator in the two groups. Multivariate Cox regression analysis was used to explore the risk factors of all-cause mortality in patients with coronary heart disease combined with hematological malignancies. Results A total of 68 patients were finally included in the study, 52 died (76.47%) , the median survival time was 10.93 months, and the median follow-up time was 67.33 months. Compared with the survival group, patients in the death group were older, had faster heart rate at admission, lower body mass index, smaller body surface area, lower hemoglobin, albumin level, higher cystatin C level, higher proportion of elevated brain natriuretic peptide, and higher proportion of chemotherapy and stem cell transplantation (P

The length of cilia is controlled by a poorly understood mechanism that involves members of the conserved RCK kinase group, and among them, the LF4/MOK kinases. The multiciliated protist model, Tetrahymena, carries two types of cilia (oral and locomotory) and the length of the locomotory cilia is dependent on their position with the cell. In Tetrahymena, loss of an LF4/MOK ortholog, LF4A, lengthened the locomotory cilia, but also reduced their number. Without LF4A, cilia assembled faster and showed signs of increased intraflagellar transport (IFT). Consistently, overproduced LF4A shortened cilia and downregulated IFT. GFP-tagged LF4A, expressed in the native locus and imaged by total internal reflection microscopy, was enriched at the basal bodies and distributed along the shafts of cilia. Within cilia, most LF4A-GFP particles were immobile and a few either diffused or moved by IFT. We suggest that the distribution of LF4/MOK along the cilium delivers a uniform dose of inhibition to IFT trains that travel from the base to the tip. In a longer cilium, the IFT machinery may experience a higher cumulative dose of inhibition by LF4/MOK. Thus, LF4/MOK activity could be a readout of cilium length that helps to balance the rate of IFT-driven assembly with the rate of disassembly at steady state. We used a forward genetic screen to identify a CDK-related kinase, CDKR1, whose loss-of-function suppressed the shortening of cilia caused by overexpression of LF4A, by reducing its kinase activity. Loss of CDKR1 alone lengthened both the locomotory and oral cilia. CDKR1 resembles other known ciliary CDK-related kinases: LF2 of Chlamydomonas, mammalian CCRK and DYF-18 of C. elegans, in lacking the cyclin-binding motif and acting upstream of RCKs. The new genetic tools we developed here for Tetrahymena have potential for further dissection of the principles of cilia length regulation in multiciliated cells.

Endometritis is one of the common reproductive diseases in human and animal. In recent years, a number of studies have found that Schisandra B (Sch B), as a natural Chinese medicine extract, has antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory and other biological activities. Based on the above, in this study, mice were used to conduct an in vivo experiment to investigate the effect and mechanism of Sch B on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)‐induced endometritis. Haematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining was used to detect the pathological changes of uterine tissue and western blot was used to detect the expression levels of signalling pathways and key genes for ferroptosis. The results showed that Sch B significantly inhibited the pathological injury of uterine tissue, myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity, the activation of NF‐κB pathway and the production of TNF‐α and IL‐1β. Furthermore, Sch B effectively inhibited ferroptosis by inhibiting malondialdehyde (MDA) and iron production and promoting the expression of ferroptosis suppressor genes GPX4 and ferritin. In conclusion, Sch B inhibited LPS‐induced endometritis through alleviating inflammatory response and ferroptosis via AMPK/PGC1α/Nrf2 signalling pathway. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Detecting the vertical motions of the atmosphere in convective clouds is difficult. The cost of aircraft detection is expensive, limited by maximum flight altitude, high detection risk, low frequency, etc. In recent years, remote sensing instruments are applied with the development of detection technology. Ground-based vertical pointing radar has become a reliable way to obtain atmospheric vertical motions, through which the cloud structure and dynamic characteristics of convective precipitation clouds can be obtained, and the distribution and evolution characteristics of the intensity and proportion of atmospheric vertical movement during the mature stage of convection can be monitored in detail. Based on the vertical structure detection data of precipitation clouds from ground to 15 km height by a vertical pointing radar with 5520 MHz C-band Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave (VPR-CFMCW) technology, the vertical motions in the convective precipitation cloud are retrieved, and the vertical structure of convection and evolution characteristics of vertical motions at different heights are analyzed. The VPR-CFMCW is used to carry out the atmospheric vertical motion retrieval experiments on 4 convective precipitation events at the Longmen Station in Guangdong Province during pre-monsoon from 20 April to 22 April in 2019. It is found that the updrafts of the atmosphere before convective precipitation have a positive contribution to the intensity of reflectivity and surface precipitation afterwards. The deep convection is inclined, which causes the vertical section to show a layered structure at certain moments. Convective precipitation is dominated by downdrafts of the entire level, updrafts and downdrafts of the upper-level atmosphere appear alternately, when downdrafts account for the highest proportion in the lower-level, and the updrafts account for an increased proportion above 6 km height. The intensity of atmospheric vertical motions is strong in the upper-level, as strong updrafts and downdrafts exceeding 10 m·s-1 mostly appear above 6 km height. The vertical motions vary greatly at 4-6 km height. The average downdraft speed is less than 5 m·s-1 and the average updraft speed is around 2 m·s-1 under 4 km height. The development of ground-based vertical pointing radar can improve the understanding of vertical structure evolution and dynamic characteristics of convective precipitation clouds.

Heart failure is the final main battlefield of various cardiovascular diseases with huge harm, which can cause all kinds of arrhythmias and even sudden cardiac death. The 2016 ESC guidelines formally define heart failure with mid-range ejection fraction (LVEF) in the range of 40% to 49%, aiming to refine the classification of heart failure, in order to arouse the attention of clinicians to the pathophysiology of heart failure and carry out more clinical research to better guide diagnosis and treatment. At present, there are still many controversies about the pathophysiology and treatment of HFmrEF. This article explains the characteristics of patients with HFmrEF from the aspects of epidemiology, clinical characteristics, pathophysiology, and treatment. It is found that HFmrEF is more like a transition between HFpEF and HFrEF patients than a unique phenotype. Four new drugs in the field of heart failure (ARNI, SGLT-2i, SGC, OM) and atrial septal shunts have shown different degrees of benefit in the treatment of HFmrEF patients. In the future, more clinical studies on HFmrEF (such as the HFmrEF subgroup study based on the changing trend of LVEF) are needed to deepen clinicians' understanding and understanding of HFmrEF, so as to better guide treatment.

The L-band wind profile radar(WPR) detects the Bragg scattering processes from back scattered energy of changes in refractive index, meanwhile it is high sensitive to Rayleigh scattering processes from back scattered energy of hydrometeors in the precipitating clouds. A method named data calibration with noise power (DCNP) is established for calibrating WPR return signal, in which the Doppler velocity spectrum is processed with FFT. The power of unit amplitude in return signal power spectrum is calculated based on radar noise power. Using calibrated power spectrum, echo intensity spectral density, echo intensity and structure parameter of refractive index are derived, and can be used to study vertical structure of precipitating clouds, microphysical properties, and clear air turbulences. The errors derived from noise temperature and noise amplitude are discussed. When the range of actual noise temperature is from 280 to 320 K, the error range caused by using 300 K to calculate noise power is from -0.28 to 0.3 dB. For each observation mode, the fluctuation of monthly average noise amplitude at the last gate is stable, nearly in normal distribution. The error caused by noise amplitude is between -0.3 and 0.3 dB. The method is estimated with data from Beijing (54399) in 2017, Nanjing (58235) in 2016 and Meizhou (59303) in 2018. These WPR types are different, and they are the main types in operation. Three precipitation cases from different stations are used to estimate the calibration method. It shows that the magnitudes between echo intensities calculated with DCNP and weather radars are similar. The evolutions of the two sorts of echo intensity products are also simultaneous. Estimations show that consistence between different observation mode is good. The difference between the high and low mode from Meizhou (59303) is the smallest. The differences between modes from Beijing (54399) are larger than the other two stations. It is consistent with the range of noise amplitude from the farthest gate in each observation mode. Compared with nearby weather radars, the consistence between WPRs and weather radars is also good considering different observation modes. The calibration method is proved stable and reliable. Radar echo intensity calculated with DCNP is compared with that derived from SNR. In most cases, values from the two methods are well consistent. When noise amplitude is large, the echo intensities identified by the method with SNR are usually lower than the values derived from the method using DCNP. The error from turbulence is analyzed with two-peak spectrum from Meizhou (59303). It indictes that the return signal from turbulence can be ignored for the cases.
