The development of projects using renewable energy sources (RES) necessitates the development of insurance programs and systems. This involves identifying and assessing the risks of renewable energy projects in the transition to new types of energy, determining typical corporate and specific risks, the need and content of the main types, forms of insurance contracts, assessing the financial condition, and choosing insurance organizations and reinsurance programs. This article focuses on the formation of such insurance programs, their interaction with industrial safety systems and ensuring corporate participation in achieving sustainable development goals; as well as selection and assessment of the insurer financial stability and the insurance RES programs economic efficiency.

The construction and commissioning of renewable energy sources is one of the priority areas of energy programs aimed at achieving sustainable development goals. The creation and operation of such sources is associated with significant risks, the management of which is based on real insurance instruments. This article focuses on the formation of a model for assessing the use of insurance in renewable energy projects and presents the business process, stages, risk drivers, and calculation of the economic efficiency of the use of insurance mechanisms in renewable energy projects.

Although the development and the implementation of Renewable Energy (RE) solutions are crucial for the transformation of countries towards sustainability, Project Management (PM) may help companies to introduce these solutions, although no study analyzes and synthetizes previous research on the interplay between PM and RE. The article aims to fill this gap by presenting an analysis of publications that address the analyzed issue and are indexed in the Scopus database. The article utilizes bibliometric analysis, network analyses, and in-depth qualitative studies published before 2023. The first method examines research productivity in the context of authors, institutions, and designations. The second method examines the authors’ and keywords’ networks. The third is more comprehensive and focuses on contributions to both project management and the technological domain provided by articles, which constitute H (Hirsch)-Core in this research field. Based on the bibliometric analysis, it can be concluded that the scientific structure of the “project management–renewable energy” (PM-RE) field consists of 335 documents, which were published, in total, by 672 authors and in 135 journals. There are four keyword clusters, with blurred boundaries between them. In the PM area, organizational issues, focusing on project effectiveness, cooperation with stakeholders, and project evaluation methods were discussed. In the RE area, the main focus was on wind energy, technological issues, and the implementation of technologies in the end-to-end communication architecture for smart grids, photovoltaic systems, biomass projects, or the exploitation of geothermal resources. The article directly indicates the areas that should be addressed in future research. This study is the first literature review that explores the PM–RE research field. It provides knowledge that can be the subject of improving technologies and project management issues in the energy industry.

Life insurances represent an important safety measure against financial results of various mishaps. They also supplement the public insurance system. Bearing in mind that the insurance market depends on the supply of risks by the policyholders, demand on these risks and readiness to accept them on the insurers’ side as well as funds at the disposal of both parties, the economic standing of a given country plays an important role. The macroeconomic situation of the Visegrad countries (V4) has been shaped in the last decade by events on the global financial markets and processes taking place in the European Union. The resulting changes concern both the general state of the economy and its particular sectors, including the life insurance sector. The study has been carried out on the basis of selected macroeconomic data and data reflecting the development of the life insurance sector in the years 2007–2015. Apart from the comparative analysis, a linear correlation technique, which describes the force and direction of relations between the properties, has been used. The studies have confirmed the assumed research hypotheses. Strong relationships between the level of property insurance sector development and the macroeconomic situation in the Visegrad countries have been found, along with mutual similarities and the high level of financial stability.

The article analyses the state of development and growth dynamics of insurance markets in selected European countries through applying four statistical indicators: share of insurance premium in the global insurance market premium, share of insurance premium per capita, share of insurance premium in GDP and share of life insurance premium in the entire insurance premium amount.A strategic developmental objective of the European financial services market is to guarantee a high degree of integration of insurance markets of particular countries within the European financial community and to adapt those insurance markets to the requirements of the Solvency II Directive.The applied analysis of insurance market concentrations in European countries helped divide them into three clusters that differ from one another. The first cluster includes countries with a large share of insurance premiums in the global market and a large share of insurance premiums in GDP. The second cluster groups together countries with a high level of insurance premiums per capita and a high share of life insurance premiums in the total amount of insurance premiums. The third one encompasses countries with the lowest values of analysed indicators, i.e. those that exhibit a low development level of insurance market, where property insurance prevails.The years 2011–2016 basically saw no changes in the structure of those clusters, although it was observed that even small fluctuations of indicator values may lead to a change in a certain insurance market position in a given cluster.The calculated average indicators of insurance market development dynamics have revealed a high degree of heterogeneity of analysed countries as regards the level of development of their insurance markets and their structure. The Polish insurance market has qualified to the third cluster and, as such, approximates average cluster values in terms of its development, while its development dynamics is decreasing.

Introduction. Market transformations in certain sectors of the national economy require improvement of the practice of applying the legislation and substantiating the changes in the regulatory environment and assessing the effectiveness of its influence to reduce unreasonable costs for all market participants. Therefore, there is a problem of improving state regulation of the economy, as well as the state of application of the regulatory policy mechanism by state authorities. Aim and tasks. The aim of the article is to study trends improving implementation of regulatory policy in the sphere of economic activity on the basis of the institute regulatory impact assessment. Research results. The results of the analysis. The article discloses the need to improve the quality of regulation of economic activity within the institutional obligations of the state in order to facilitate the obtaining of the maximum possible benefits of business entities. This involves minimizing public participation, and most importantly, the evaluation of regulatory instruments that affect the business sector or restrict its competition. The substantiation of the tool for ensuring the quality of regulation of economic activity in a market economy is based on the analysis (evaluation) of regulatory influence. The barriers of economic activity and sources of subjective nature, which are connected with excessive regulatory pressure, are revealed. The correlation of the principles of state regulatory policy and the analysis of regulatory influence in the field of economic activity are carried out. The directions of development of the Institute for the assessment of regulatory influence in the field of competition are proposed in order to ensure sustainable business development: application of a complex of interrelated criteria with the assessment of procedures and implementation of regulatory quality standards; the phased introduction of elements of the analysis of regulatory influence on competition; improvement of the institutional basis for the analysis (assessment) of regulatory influence. The difference between the analysis of regulatory influence on competition as an element of regulatory influence analysis, which serves as a tool of state regulation, is proved and it allows to improve the state policy in the field of development of competition on the basis of substantiating restrictive competition of regulatory norms. Conclusion. The analysis of regulatory influence as part of a systematic approach to the development of the institutional environment serves as an instrument for improving state policy in the field of competition development. The importance of introducing the practice of proving the necessity of interfering with economic processes or institutional constraints provided that market competition is reduced as a component of the regulatory influence analysis is proved.

Research background: The insurance market is an important part of the financial system. The international concept of insurance operations brings certainty and helps to balance the economic results. Purpose of the article: The aim of the paper is to compare the efficiency of life insurance of commercial insurance companies in the Czech Republic and Poland using the Data Envelopment Analysis model (DEA). Methods: The methods used in the paper are descriptive statistics, DEA model and Tobit regression model. DEA models are nonparametric quantitative models for efficiency assessment. They use linear programming to transform multiple inputs into multiple outputs. The efficiency of the subjects analyzed is assessed based on the efficiency scores. Findings & Value added: The subject of our analysis was 17 commercial insurance companies in the Czech Republic and 26 commercial insurance companies in Poland. Ten insurance companies were efficient on the common Czech-Polish insurance market. The share of efficient insurance companies was approximately equal. The arithmetic mean of the efficiency scores was higher in Poland than in the Czech Republic. The variability of the efficiency scores of Czech insurance companies was greater than the variability of the efficiency scores of Polish insurance companies. The correlations with efficiency score as the dependent variable and with market share as the independent variable of Tobit regression were very low.
