1. Constructing stellar solutions with spherical symmetry through quadratic anisotropy in f(Q) gravity

Abstract: Abstract This article examines anisotropic models to characterize compact stars (CSs) in the context of modified f(Q) gravity theory. To achieve this, we employ the linear functional form $$f(Q) = \alpha Q + \beta $$ f ( Q ) = α Q + β . A physically meaningful metric potential $$g_{rr}$$ g rr is considered, and a quadratic form of anisotropy is utilized to solve the Einstein field equations in closed form. This class of solutions is then applied to characterize observed pulsars from various perspectives. In the scope of f(Q) gravity, we address the Darmois–Israel junction requirements to guarantee a smooth matching of the inner metric with the external metric (Schwarzschild (Anti-) de Sitter solution) at the boundary hypersurface. By applying these junction conditions, we determine the model parameters involved in the solutions. Additionally, this study evaluates the physical viability and dynamical stability of the solution for different values of the f(Q)-parameter $$\alpha $$ α within the compact star (CS). The mass–radius relationships associated with observational constraints are analyzed for several compact stars, including Vela X-1, PSR J1614-2230, and PSR J0952-0607. The investigation indicates that the estimated radius of the compact object PSR J0952-0607, with mass $$2.35 \pm 0.17~M_\odot $$ 2.35 ± 0.17 M ⊙ , is around $$15.79^{+0.05}_{-0.09}$$ 15 . 79 - 0.09 + 0.05 km for a particular parameter value of $$\alpha = 2.0$$ α = 2.0 , and the moment of inertia for the de Sitter space is determined as $$4.31 \times 10^{45}~\textrm{g}~\textrm{cm}^2$$ 4.31 × 10 45 g cm 2 . The $$I-M$$ I - M curve shows greater sensitivity to the stiffness of the equation of state than the $$M-R$$ M - R curve, reinforcing our conclusion about the $$I-M$$ I - M framework’s responsiveness. Finally, we predicted the corresponding radii and moments of inertia for various values of $$\alpha $$ α based on the $$M-R$$ M - R and $$M-I$$ M - I curves.

Abstract: Abstract This article focuses on different anisotropic models within the framework of a specific modified $$f(\mathcal {R},\mathcal {T}, \mathcal {R}_{\zeta \gamma }\mathcal {T}^{\zeta \gamma })$$ f ( R , T , R ζ γ T ζ γ ) gravity theory. The study adopts a static spherically symmetric spacetime to determine the field equations for two different modified models: (i) $$f(\mathcal {R},\mathcal {T},\mathcal {R}_{\zeta \gamma }\mathcal {T}^{\zeta \gamma })=\mathcal {R}+\eta \mathcal {R}_{\zeta \gamma }\mathcal {T}^{\zeta \gamma }$$ f ( R , T , R ζ γ T ζ γ ) = R + η R ζ γ T ζ γ , and (ii) $$f(\mathcal {R},\mathcal {T},\mathcal {R}_{\zeta \gamma }\mathcal {T}^{\zeta \gamma })=\mathcal {R}(1+\eta \mathcal {R}_{\zeta \gamma }\mathcal {T}^{\zeta \gamma })$$ f ( R , T , R ζ γ T ζ γ ) = R ( 1 + η R ζ γ T ζ γ ) , where $$\eta $$ η is a constant parameter. To address the additional degrees of freedom in the field equations and obtain their corresponding unique solution, the Durgapal-Fuloria spacetime geometry and MIT bag model are utilized. Matching conditions are applied to determine unknown constants within the chosen spacetime geometry. We adopt a certain range of model parameters to analyze the physical characteristics of the developed models in the interior distribution of a particular compact star candidate 4U 1820-30. Energy conditions and some other tests are also implemented to ensure their viability and stability. Additionally, the disappearing radial pressure constraint is employed to find the values of the model parameter, aligning with the observed information of an array of stars. The study concludes that both of our models are well-behaved and satisfy all necessary conditions, and thus we observe them suitable for the modeling of astrophysical objects.

3. Shadow and strong gravitational lensing of new wormhole solutions supported by embedding Class-I condition

Abstract: Abstract This study deals with the new class of embedded wormhole solutions in the background of general relativity. Two newly calculated wormhole solutions satisfy all the required properties. The embedded diagrams for both calculated wormhole solutions are provided. All the energy conditions are discussed through their validity regions for the different ranges of involved parameters. In maximum regions, all energy conditions are violated. We investigate the shadow and strong gravitational lensing by the wormhole throat for the two new wormhole models, namely Model-I and Model-II. The present paper considers the wormhole throat to act as a photon sphere. We first derive null geodesics using the Hamilton-Jacobi separation method to investigate the shadow and strong gravitational lensing caused by the wormhole throat. We then numerically obtain the radius of wormhole shadow, strong deflection angle, and various lensing observables by taking the example of supermassive black M87* and Sgr A* in the context of both Model-I and Model-II. Keeping all other parameters fixed, it is observed that the parameters $$\zeta _1$$ ζ 1 and $$\zeta _2$$ ζ 2 for Model-I; and $$\chi _1$$ χ 1 and $$\chi _2$$ χ 2 for Model-II have significant effects on the wormhole shadow and strong gravitational lensing phenomena. Our conclusion is that it is possible to detect relativistic images, such as Einstein rings, produced by wormholes with throat radii of $$r_{th}=3M$$ r th = 3 M . The stability analysis via Tolman–Oppenheimer–Volkov equation is included for both wormhole solutions. Additionally, current technology enables us to test hypotheses related to astrophysical wormholes.

4. Stability of compact stars in a uniform density background cloud

Abstract: Abstract We are discussing a scenario where a compact star (neutron star, NS) is embedded in a thin, uniform density background cloud (a remnant cloud after a supernova or a cloud generated from the late stages of a star e.g., a planetary nebula or asymptotic red giant phases) and its effect on the stability of the compact star. Due to the thin background cloud, the spacetime geometry is minimally deformed allowing us to employ the technique of minimal geometric decoupling (MGD). Assuming a uniform background cloud density simplifies the problem, and through the MGD method, one can take $$\Theta ^t_t = \Theta > 0$$ Θ t t = Θ > 0 , where $$\Theta $$ Θ is the density of the cloud. The background cloud interacts with the compact star through a coupling strength $$\alpha $$ α . By varying $$\alpha $$ α , one can tune the cloud density to analyze the stability of the embedded compact star. We found that for $$\alpha < 3 \times 10^{-5}$$ α < 3 × 10 - 5 , all the thermodynamic quantities are well-behaved, indicating a stable configuration. Once the coupling parameter exceeds $$3 \times 10^{-5}$$ 3 × 10 - 5 , the adiabatic index drops below $$\Gamma _{\text {max}}'$$ Γ max ′ , triggering a gravitational collapse. Beyond this limit of $$\alpha $$ α , the pressure and speed of sound also become non-physical. At the end, we have used the $$M-R$$ M - R curve generated from the solution to determine the radii of a few compact stars, namely PSR J1614-2230, PSR J0952-0607, GW190814, and GW200210. Furthermore, we have discussed the possibility of the secondary component of GW200210 i.e. the less massive compact object with an upper mass of $$3.3M_\odot $$ 3.3 M ⊙ , which may be a stellar black hole with a Schwarzschild radius $$R_{\text {BH}} = 9.746$$ R BH = 9.746 km. However, if the mass is $$2.83M_\odot $$ 2.83 M ⊙ as observed, then its predicted minimum radius is 10.74 km, corresponding to $$\alpha = 0$$ α = 0 . This radius is far beyond $$R_{\text {BH}} = 8.357$$ R BH = 8.357 km and therefore is most probably a massive NS in the mass gap.

5. Dark matter influences on wormhole stability in de Rham–Gabadadze–Tolley like massive gravity

Abstract: Abstract The characteristics of wormhole models in the context of the de Rham–Gabadadze–Tolley-like massive gravity theory are examined in this article. Dark matter density profiles of Thomas Fermi and Einasto spike are used to find the wormhole shape functions. By exploiting these formed shape functions, we create a wormhole geometry that connects asymptotically flat regions of spacetime while fulfilling all necessary requirements. Through a comprehensive analytical and graphical investigation, we explore the characteristics of exotic matter in these wormhole structures and examine their material composition within the context of energy conditions. The volume integral quantifier is used to quantify the exotic matter. We also discuss the phenomena of the complexity factor for all wormhole models and conclude that it approaches zero for increasing values of the radial coordinate, indicating the homogeneity of the energy density and the isotropic behavior of the pressure. Moreover, the repulsive nature of these wormhole solutions, a critical characteristic for their possible traversability is revealed by our analysis of the anisotropy parameter.

6. Shear-free collapsing compact star in pseudo-flat 5-D spacetime emitting radiation

Abstract: Abstract A shear-free, collapsing compact object, described by an embedding class I solution and emitting radiation, is presented here. Because of the properties of embedding class I, this four-dimensional interior spacetime can be embedded in pseudo-flat five-dimensional space. Starting with an initially static and shear-free gravitating body through the Karmarkar condition, we have explored the time evolution of the system using the time-dependent Einstein field equations. The interior solution is smoothly matched with the Vaidya outgoing solution across a time-like hypersurface which yields the temporal behaviour of the model. Further, a thorough physical analysis of the thermodynamic variables has been presented spatially and temporally. As the time progresses into the future, the surface compactness factor approaches the Buchdahl limit until it crosses this to proceed with the collapse. Before $$2m_\Sigma /r_\Sigma \rightarrow 8/9$$ 2 m Σ / r Σ → 8 / 9 , the equation of state adjusts itself like a self-immune system to hold the system by increasing $$\Gamma _{rc}$$ Γ rc (i.e. increasing stiffness). All the physical quantities, e.g., density, pressure anisotropy, radiation, luminosity, temperature, are non-singular throughout the interior of the star at a finite time slice. As the time progresses, these quantities point towards a future singularity. Throughout the evolution, the surface density and surface pressure always remain lower than their corresponding central values. Similarly, the causal temperature also always remains higher than the non-causal counterpart throughout the interior as well as during the evolution.

Abstract: Abstract We present a study of Ξ c 0 → Ξ 0 π 0 $$ {\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^0{\pi}^0 $$ , Ξ c 0 → Ξ 0 η $$ {\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^0\eta $$ , and Ξ c 0 → Ξ 0 η ′ $$ {\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^0{\eta}^{\prime } $$ decays using the Belle and Belle II data samples, which have integrated luminosities of 980 fb −1 and 426 fb −1, respectively. We measure the following relative branching fractions B Ξ c 0 → Ξ 0 π 0 / B Ξ c 0 → Ξ − π + = 0.48 ± 0.02 stat ± 0.03 syst , B Ξ c 0 → Ξ 0 η / B Ξ c 0 → Ξ − π + = 0.11 ± 0.01 stat ± 0.01 syst , B Ξ c 0 → Ξ 0 η ′ / B Ξ c 0 → Ξ − π + = 0.08 ± 0.02 stat ± 0.01 syst $$ {\displaystyle \begin{array}{c}\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^0{\pi}^0\right)/\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^{-}{\pi}^{+}\right)=0.48\pm 0.02\left(\textrm{stat}\right)\pm 0.03\left(\textrm{syst}\right),\\ {}\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^0\eta \right)/\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^{-}{\pi}^{+}\right)=0.11\pm 0.01\left(\textrm{stat}\right)\pm 0.01\left(\textrm{syst}\right),\\ {}\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^0{\eta}^{\prime}\right)/\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^{-}{\pi}^{+}\right)=0.08\pm 0.02\left(\textrm{stat}\right)\pm 0.01\left(\textrm{syst}\right)\end{array}} $$ for the first time, where the uncertainties are statistical (stat) and systematic (syst). Abstract: Abstract We report measurements of the e + e − → B B ¯ $$ B\overline{B} $$ , B B ¯ ∗ $$ B{\overline{B}}^{\ast } $$ , and B ∗ B ¯ ∗ $$ {B}^{\ast }{\overline{B}}^{\ast } $$ cross sections at four energies, 10653, 10701, 10746 and 10805 MeV, using data collected by the Belle II experiment. We reconstruct one B meson in a large number of hadronic final states and use its momentum to identify the production process. In the first 2 – 5 MeV above B ∗ B ¯ ∗ $$ {B}^{\ast }{\overline{B}}^{\ast } $$ threshold, the e + e − → B ∗ B ¯ ∗ $$ {B}^{\ast }{\overline{B}}^{\ast } $$ cross section increases rapidly. This may indicate the presence of a pole close to the threshold.

Abstract: Abstract We report a determination of the CKM angle ϕ 3, also known as γ, from a combination of measurements using samples of up to 711 fb −1 from the Belle experiment and up to 362 fb −1 from the Belle II experiment. We combine results from analyses of B + → DK +, B + → Dπ +, and B + → D * K + decays, where D is an admixture of D 0 and D ¯ 0 $$ {\overline{D}}^0 $$ mesons, in a likelihood fit to obtain ϕ 3 = (75.2 ± 7.6) ° . We also briefly discuss the interpretation of this result.

Abstract: Abstract We present the result of a search for the charged-lepton-flavor violating decay τ − → μ − μ + μ − using a 424 fb −1 sample of data recorded by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB e + e − collider. The selection of e + e − → τ + τ − events is based on an inclusive reconstruction of the non-signal tau decay, and on a boosted decision tree to suppress background. We observe one signal candidate, which is compatible with the expectation from background processes. We set a 90% confidence level upper limit of 1.9 × 10 −8 on the branching fraction of the τ − → μ − μ + μ − decay, which is the most stringent bound to date.

11. New charged anisotropic solution in f(Q)-gravity and effect of non-metricity and electric charge parameters on constraining maximum mass of self-gravitating objects

Abstract: Abstract In the present article, A new class of singularity-free charged anisotropic stars is derived in f(Q)-gravity regime. To solve the field equations, we assume a particular form of anisotropy along with an electric field and obtain a new exact solution in f(Q)-gravity. The explicit mathematical expression for the model parameters is derived by the smooth joining of the obtained solutions with the exterior Reissner–Nordstrom de-Sitter solution across the bounding surface of a compact star along with the requirement that the radial pressure vanishes at the boundary. We have modeled four self-gravitating pulsar objects such as LMC X-4, PSR J1903+327, PSR J1614-2230, and GW190814 in our current study and predict the radii of these objects that fall between 8 and 10 km. Furthermore, the physical validity of the solution is performed for self-gravitating object PSR J1614-2230 with mass $$1.97\pm 0.04~M_{\odot }$$ 1.97 ± 0.04 M ⊙ with radius 10 km. The solution successfully fulfills all the physical requirements along with the stability and hydrostatic equilibrium conditions for a well-behaved model. The non-metricity f(Q)-parameter $$\chi _{_1}$$ χ 1 and electric charge parameter $$\eta $$ η play an important role in the maximum mass of the objects. The maximum mass increases when $$\chi _{_1}$$ χ 1 and $$\eta $$ η increase but a non-collapsing stable object can be obtained when $$\chi _{_1}\le 0.0205$$ χ 1 ≤ 0.0205 and $$\eta \le 0.0006$$ η ≤ 0.0006 .

Abstract: Abstract We present a measurement of the ratio R μ = B τ − → μ − ν ¯ μ ν τ / B τ − → e − ν ¯ e ν τ $$ {R}_{\mu }=\mathcal{B}\left({\tau}^{-}\to {\mu}^{-}{\overline{\nu}}_{\mu }{\nu}_{\tau}\right)/\mathcal{B}\left({\tau}^{-}\to {e}^{-}{\overline{\nu}}_e{\nu}_{\tau}\right) $$ of branching fractions B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ of the τ lepton decaying to muons or electrons using data collected with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB e + e − collider. The sample has an integrated luminosity of 362 ± 2 fb −1 at a centre-of-mass energy of 10.58 GeV. Using an optimised event selection, a binned maximum likelihood fit is performed using the momentum spectra of the electron and muon candidates. The result, R μ = 0.9675 ± 0.0007 ± 0.0036, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic, is the most precise to date. It provides a stringent test of the light-lepton universality, translating to a ratio of the couplings of the muon and electron to the W boson in τ decays of 0.9974 ± 0.0019, in agreement with the standard model expectation of unity.

Abstract: Abstract We present measurements of the branching fractions of eight B ¯ 0 $$ {\overline{B}}^0 $$ → D (*)+ K − K S ∗ 0 $$ {K}_{(S)}^{\left(\ast \right)0} $$ , B − → D (*)0 K − K S ∗ 0 $$ {K}_{(S)}^{\left(\ast \right)0} $$ decay channels. The results are based on data from SuperKEKB electron-positron collisions at the Υ(4S) resonance collected with the Belle II detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 362 fb −1. The event yields are extracted from fits to the distributions of the difference between expected and observed B meson energy, and are efficiency-corrected as a function of m(K − K S ∗ 0 $$ {K}_{(S)}^{\left(\ast \right)0} $$ ) and m(D (*) K S ∗ 0 $$ {K}_{(S)}^{\left(\ast \right)0} $$ ) in order to avoid dependence on the decay model. These results include the first observation of B ¯ 0 $$ {\overline{B}}^0 $$ → D + K − K S 0 $$ {K}_S^0 $$ , B − → D* 0 K − K S 0 $$ {K}_S^0 $$ , and B ¯ 0 $$ {\overline{B}}^0 $$ → D* + K − K S 0 $$ {K}_S^0 $$ decays and a significant improvement in the precision of the other channels compared to previous measurements. The helicity-angle distributions and the invariant mass distributions of the K − K S ∗ 0 $$ {K}_{(S)}^{\left(\ast \right)0} $$ systems are compatible with quasi-two-body decays via a resonant transition with spin-parity J P = 1− for the K − K S 0 $$ {K}_S^0 $$ systems and J P = 1+ for the K − K* 0 systems. We also present measurements of the branching fractions of four B ¯ 0 $$ {\overline{B}}^0 $$ → D (*)+ D s − $$ {D}_s^{-} $$ , B − → D (*)0 D s − $$ {D}_s^{-} $$ decay channels with a precision compatible to the current world averages.

Abstract: Abstract In the present work we study the geodesic motion and accretion process of a test particle near an Anti-de Sitter (ADS) BH surrounded by a dark fluid with a Chaplygin-like equation. Within the defined paradigm, we investigate on the equatorial plane and examine circular geodesics along with their features related to stabilities, radiation energy flux, oscillations and orbits. The general form of the fluid accretion onto the AdS BH through dynamical analysis and mass expansion also has discussed in a depth. Additionally, a few more interesting topics, e.g. the effective potential, angular momentum, specific energy, radiation energy and epicyclic frequencies have also been examined thoroughly. All the attributes are physically acceptable within the observational signatures and ranges.

15. Testing strong gravitational lensing effects of various supermassive compact objects for the static and spherically symmetric hairy black hole by gravitational decoupling

Abstract: Abstract We investigate the strong gravitational lensing effects of various supermassive compact objects for the static and spherically symmetric hairy black hole by gravitational decoupling. To do this purpose, we first numerically calculate the strong deflection limit coefficients and strong deflection angle with the decoupling modified black hole parameter $$\alpha $$ α and $$\beta $$ β . It is observed that for the lowest value of the parameter $$\alpha $$ α , the strong deflection angle $$\alpha _D$$ α D reaches its maximum value with the parameter $$\beta $$ β and for the lowest value of the parameter $$\beta $$ β , strong deflection angle $$\alpha _D$$ α D reaches its minimum value with the parameter $$\alpha $$ α ; and also the strong deflection angle for $$\alpha _D$$ α D for the decoupling modified black hole is smaller than standard Schwarzschild black hole $$(\alpha =0)$$ ( α = 0 ) . We investigate the various astrophysical consequences via strong gravitational lensing by considering the example of various supermassive BHs in the centre nearby galaxies and observe that the decoupling modified black hole could be quantitatively distinguished from the standard Schwarzschild black hole ( $$\alpha =0$$ α = 0 ). Findings in our observation suggest that the observational test for a decoupling-modified black hole is indeed feasible.

Abstract: Abstract We present an analysis of the process e + e − → π + π − Υ(nS) (where n = 1, 2, or 3) reconstructed in 19.6 fb −1 of Belle II data during a special run of the SuperKEKB collider at four energy points near the peak of the Υ(10753) resonance. By analyzing the mass distribution of the π + π − Υ(nS) system and the Born cross sections of the e + e − → π + π − Υ(nS) process, we report the first observation of Υ(10753) decays to the π + π − Υ(1S) and π + π − Υ(2S) final states, and find no evidence for decays to π + π − Υ(3S). Possible intermediate states in the π + π − Υ(1S, 2S) transitions are also investigated, and no evidence for decays proceeding via the π ∓ Z b ± $$ {\pi}^{\mp }{Z}_b^{\pm } $$ or f 0(980)Υ(nS) intermediate states is found. We measure Born cross sections for the e + e − → π + π − Υ(nS) process that, combined with results from Belle, obtain the mass and width of Υ(10753) to be (10756.6 ± 2.7 ± 0.9) MeV/c 2 and (29.0 ± 8.8 ± 1.2) MeV, respectively. The relative ratios of the Born cross sections at the Υ(10753) resonance peak are also reported for the first time.

17. Study of self-bound compact stars in $$f(\mathscr {T})$$ f ( T ) gravity and observational constraints on the model parameters

Abstract: Abstract The present study is based on $$f(\mathscr {T})$$ f ( T ) gravity, where we impose possible observational constraints on the model parameters to obtain physically plausible features of compact stars, specifically neutron stars. To do so, as a first step, we consider the field equations in the $$f(\mathscr {T})$$ f ( T ) gravity framework. We then solve the field equations to generate a set of new exact solutions in $$f(\mathscr {T})$$ f ( T ) gravity where model parameters are found by using boundary conditions. A few tests are performed to asses the stability of the model and compare the obtained results with observations of compact stars, in particular with the compact binary merger event GW190814. We observe the maximum mass of the star beyond the $$3M_{\odot }$$ 3 M ⊙ when the surface density is of the order $$10^{14}$$ 10 14 gm/cm $$^3$$ 3 for the higher torsion parameter, which implies that an anisotropic solution in teleparallel gravity is more suitable for modeling of massive compact objects in lower $$mass-gap$$ m a s s - g a p , and thus the model presented herein provides a satisfactory physical scenario with respect to the observational signature.

Abstract: Abstract We report results from a study of B ± → DK ± decays followed by D decaying to the CP-even final state K + K − and CP-odd final state K S 0 π 0 $$ {K}_S^0{\pi}^0 $$ , where D is an admixture of D 0 and D ¯ 0 $$ {\overline{D}}^0 $$ states. These decays are sensitive to the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa unitarity-triangle angle ϕ 3. The results are based on a combined analysis of the final data set of 772 × 106 B B ¯ $$ B\overline{B} $$ pairs collected by the Belle experiment and a data set of 198 × 106 B B ¯ $$ B\overline{B} $$ pairs collected by the Belle II experiment, both in electron-positron collisions at the Υ(4S) resonance. We measure the CP asymmetries to be A $$ \mathcal{A} $$ CP+ = (+12.5 ± 5.8 ± 1.4)% and A $$ \mathcal{A} $$ CP− = (−16.7 ± 5.7 ± 0.6)%, and the ratios of branching fractions to be R $$ \mathcal{R} $$ CP+ = 1.164 ± 0.081 ± 0.036 and R $$ \mathcal{R} $$ CP− = 1.151 ± 0.074 ± 0.019. The first contribution to the uncertainties is statistical, and the second is systematic. The asymmetries A $$ \mathcal{A} $$ CP+ and A $$ \mathcal{A} $$ CP− have similar magnitudes and opposite signs; their difference corresponds to 3.5 standard deviations. From these values we calculate 68.3% confidence intervals of (8.5 ° < ϕ 3 < 16.5 ° ) or (84.5 ° < ϕ 3 < 95.5 ° ) or (163.3 ° < ϕ 3 < 171.5 ° ) and 0.321 < r B < 0.465.

19. Strong gravitational lensing, quasi-periodic oscillations and constraints from EHT observations for quantum-improved charged black hole

Abstract: Abstract We investigate strong gravitational lensing by quantum-improved charged black holes characterized by an additional parameter denoted as $$\omega $$ ω , in addition to the mass M and charge Q. Our findings reveal that when both the parameters Q/2M and $$\omega /4M^2$$ ω / 4 M 2 increase simultaneously, various astrophysical consequences, such as the deflection angle $$\alpha _D(u)$$ α D ( u ) and angular image separation increase. Concurrently, the angular position $$\theta _{\infty }$$ θ ∞ , relative magnification $$r_{mag}$$ r mag , and the time delay $$\Delta T_{2,1}$$ Δ T 2 , 1 between the first and second relativistic images also decrease with the growing values of the parameters Q/2M and $$\omega /4M^2$$ ω / 4 M 2 . It is also observed that the Einstein ring $$\theta _1^E$$ θ 1 E for the quantum-improved charged black hole is more significant than those for Schwarzschild, quantum-improved Schwarzschild, and Reisner–Nordström black holes. As with supermassive black holes such as $$M87^*$$ M 87 ∗ and $$SgrA^*$$ S g r A ∗ , it is observed that to be a viable astrophysical black hole, the EHT results constrain the parameter space ( $$\omega /4M^2$$ ω / 4 M 2 , Q/2M). Remarkably, the EHT results for $$SgrA^*$$ S g r A ∗ impose more stringent limits on the parameter space of quantum-improved charged black holes compared to those established by the EHT results for $$M87^*$$ M 87 ∗ . We investigate the radial profiles of orbital and radial harmonic oscillation frequencies as a function of the dimensionless coupling constants and black hole mass. The main characteristics of test particle quasi-periodic oscillations close to stable circular orbits in the black hole equatorial plane are also examined. We study the positioning of resonant radii in the background of quantum-improved charged black holes for high-frequency quasi-periodic oscillations models: warped disc (WD) models, relativistic precession (RP) and its types, and epicyclic resonance (ER) and its variants.

20. A comparative study of wormhole geometries under two different modified gravity formalism

Abstract: Abstract In the current article, we discuss the wormhole geometries in two different gravity theories, namely $$\texttt{F}(\texttt{Q, T})$$ F ( Q , T ) gravity and $$\texttt{F}(\texttt{R, T})$$ F ( R , T ) gravity. In these theories, $$\texttt{Q}$$ Q is called a non-metricity scalar, $$\texttt{R}$$ R stands for the Ricci scalar, and $$\texttt{T}$$ T denotes the trace of the energy–momentum tensor (EMT). The main goal of this study is to comprehensively compare the properties of wormhole solutions within these two modified gravity frameworks by taking a particular shape function. The conducted analysis shows that the energy density is consistently positive for wormhole models in both gravity theories, while the radial pressure is positive for $$\texttt{F}(\texttt{Q, T})$$ F ( Q , T ) gravity and negative in $$\texttt{F}(\texttt{R, T})$$ F ( R , T ) gravity. Furthermore, the tangential pressure shows reverse behavior in comparison to the radial pressure. By using the Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkov (TOV) equation, the equilibrium aspect is also described, which indicates that hydrostatic force dominates anisotropic force in the case of $$\texttt{F}(\texttt{Q, T})$$ F ( Q , T ) gravity theory, while the reverse situation occurs in $$\texttt{F}(\texttt{R, T})$$ F ( R , T ) gravity, i.e., anisotropic force dominates hydrostatic force. Moreover, using the concept of the exoticity parameter, we observed the presence of exotic matter at or near the throat in the case of $$\texttt{F}(\texttt{Q, T})$$ F ( Q , T ) gravity while matter distribution is exotic near the throat but normal matter far from the throat in $$\texttt{F}(\texttt{R, T})$$ F ( R , T ) gravity case. In conclusion, precise wormhole models can be created with a potential NEC and DEC violation at the throat of both wormholes while having a positive energy density, i.e., $$\rho >0$$ ρ > 0 .

21. Effect of decoupling parameters on maximum allowable mass of anisotropic stellar structure constructed by mass constraint approach in f(Q)-gravity

Abstract: Abstract In the present article anisotropic solutions with vanishing complexity in the framework of f(Q) gravity are generated. At first, the field equations in f(Q)-gravity are gravitationally decoupled where the isotropic fluid component corresponds to Vlasenko–Pronin space-time. Then, with a new source, the complete geometric deformation is supplemented to an isotropic component, and the related deformation function is derived by the method known as mimicking of mass constraints. Furthermore, the generated anisotropic solution prevails all the physical tests along with the stability analysis with respect to the decoupling parameter as well as the f(Q) gravity parameter and it accomplishes the physical representation of observational constraint related to stars, namely, SMC X-1, 2 S 0921-630, PSR J0437-4715, Vela X-1, PSR J1748-2021B which are reflected in Mass–Radius curves. Hence, the study comes out to be worthy of the fact that the f(Q) gravity parameter directly influences the maximum mass of a compact stellar configuration for the fixed decoupling parameter in the context of gravitational decoupling where it predicts the star PSR J1748-2021B having highest mass 2.74 $$M_{\odot }$$ M ⊙ . It is noted that when the decoupling parameter ( $$\alpha $$ α ) increases, the central value of the adiabatic index value also increases, while the reverse situation occurs when the f(Q)-parameter ( $$\beta _1$$ β 1 ) gets increased. This implies that both the parameters $$\alpha $$ α and $$\beta _1$$ β 1 have the overall controlling power on the stability of the model.

Abstract: Abstract We report a search for the charged-lepton flavor violation in Υ(2S) → ℓ ∓ τ ± (ℓ = e, μ) decays using a 25 fb −1 Υ(2S) sample collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB e + e − asymmetric-energy collider. We find no evidence for a signal and set upper limits on the branching fractions ( B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ ) at 90% confidence level. We obtain the most stringent upper limits: B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ (Υ(2S) → μ ∓ τ ± ) < 0.23 × 10 −6 and B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ (Υ(2S) → e ∓ τ ± ) < 1.12 × 10 −6.

Abstract: Abstract In this paper, we introduce an anisotropic model using a dark matter (DM) density profile in Einstein–Gauss–Bonnet (EGB) gravity using a gravitational decoupling method introduced by Ovalle (Phys Rev D 95:104019, 2017), which has provided an innovative approach for obtaining solutions to the EGB field equations for the spherically symmetric structure of stellar bodies. The Tolman and Finch–Skea (TFS) solutions of two metric potentials, $$g_{tt}$$ g tt and $$g_{rr}$$ g rr , have been used to construct the seed solution. Additionally, the presence of DM in DM halos distorts spacetime, causing perturbations in the $$g_{rr}$$ g rr metric potential, where the quantity of DM is determined by the decoupling parameter $$\beta $$ β . The physical validity of the solution, along with stability and equilibrium analysis, has also been performed. Along with stability and equilibrium analysis, the solution’s physical validity has also been examined. Additionally, we have shown how both constants affect the physical characteristics of the solution. Using a $$M{-}R$$ M - R diagram, it has been described how the DM component and the GB constant affect the maximum permissible masses and their corresponding radii for various compact objects. Our model predicts the masses beyond the $$2~M_{\odot }$$ 2 M ⊙ and maximum radii $$11.92^{+0.02}_{-0.01}$$ 11 . 92 - 0.01 + 0.02 and $$12.83^{+0.01}_{-0.02}$$ 12 . 83 - 0.02 + 0.01 for larger value of $$\alpha $$ α under density order $$10^{15}~\text {g}/\text {cm}^3$$ 10 15 g / cm 3 and $$10^{14}~\text {g}/\text {cm}^3$$ 10 14 g / cm 3 , respectively, while the radii become $$11.96^{+0.01}_{-0.01}$$ 11 . 96 - 0.01 + 0.01 and $$12.81^{+0.01}_{-0.02}$$ 12 . 81 - 0.02 + 0.01 for larger value of $$\beta $$ β .

Abstract: Abstract We measure CP asymmetries and branching-fraction ratios for B ± → DK ± and Dπ ± decays with D → K S 0 $$ {K}_{\textrm{S}}^0 $$ K ± π ∓, where D is a superposition of D 0 and D ¯ $$ \overline{D} $$ 0. We use the full data set of the Belle experiment, containing 772 × 106 B B ¯ $$ B\overline{B} $$ pairs, and data from the Belle II experiment, containing 387 × 106 B B ¯ $$ B\overline{B} $$ pairs, both collected in electron-positron collisions at the Υ(4S) resonance. Our results provide model-independent information on the unitarity triangle angle ϕ 3.

Abstract: Abstract We present a search for the lepton-flavor-violating decays B s 0 $$ {B}_s^0 $$ → ℓ ∓ τ ± , where ℓ = e, μ, using the full data sample of 121 fb −1 collected at the Υ(5S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e + e − collider. We use B s 0 B ¯ s 0 $$ {B}_s^0{\overline{B}}_s^0 $$ events in which one B s 0 $$ {B}_s^0 $$ meson is reconstructed in a semileptonic decay mode and the other in the signal mode. We find no evidence for B s 0 $$ {B}_s^0 $$ → ℓ ∓ τ ± decays and set upper limits on their branching fractions at 90% confidence level as B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ ( B s 0 $$ {B}_s^0 $$ → e ∓ τ ± ) < 14 × 10 −4 and B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ ( B s 0 $$ {B}_s^0 $$ → μ ∓ τ ± ) < 7.3 × 10 −4. Our result represents the first upper limit on the B s 0 $$ {B}_s^0 $$ → e ∓ τ ± decay rate.

Abstract: Abstract We report the first measurement of the inclusive e + e − → b b ¯ $$ b\overline{b} $$ → D s ± $$ {D}_s^{\pm } $$ X and e + e − → b b ¯ $$ b\overline{b} $$ → D 0 / D ¯ 0 $$ {\overline{D}}^0 $$ X cross sections in the energy range from 10.63 to 11.02 GeV. Based on these results, we determine σ(e + e − → B s 0 B ¯ s 0 $$ {B}_s^0{\overline{B}}_s^0 $$ X) and σ(e + e − → B B ¯ $$ B\overline{B} $$ X) in the same energy range. We measure the fraction of B s 0 $$ {B}_s^0 $$ events at Υ(10860) to be f s = ( 22.0 − 2.1 + 2.0 $$ {22.0}_{-2.1}^{+2.0} $$ )%. We determine also the ratio of the B s 0 $$ {B}_s^0 $$ inclusive branching fractions B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ ( B s 0 $$ {B}_s^0 $$ → D 0 / D ¯ 0 $$ {\overline{D}}^0 $$ X)/ B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ ( B s 0 $$ {B}_s^0 $$ → D s ± $$ {D}_s^{\pm } $$ X) = 0.416 ± 0.018 ± 0.092. The results are obtained using the data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e + e − collider.

Abstract: Abstract We measure the cross section of e + e − → η c J/ψ at the Υ(nS)(n = 1–5) on-resonance and 10.52 GeV off-resonance energy points using the full data sample collected by the Belle detector with an integrated luminosity of 955 fb −1. We also search for double charmonium production in e + e − → η c J/ψ via initial state radiation near the η c J/ψ threshold. No evident signal of the double charmonium state is found, but evidence for the e + e − → η c J/ψ process is found with a statistical significance greater than 3.3σ near the η c J/ψ threshold. The average cross section near the threshold is measured and upper limits of cross sections are set for other regions.

28. Orbital motion and quasi-periodic oscillations with periastron and Lense–Thirring precession of slowly rotating Einstein–Æther black hole

Abstract: Abstract We study the orbital and oscillatory motion of test particles moving around slowly rotating first and second kinds of Einstein–Æther black holes. In relation to the black hole parameters, we find analytical solutions for the radial profiles of specific energy and specific angular momentum of the equatorial stable circular orbits. The properties of the co-rotating as well as contra-rotating innermost stable circular orbits are analyzed. We examine the radial profiles of the frequencies of latitudinal and radial harmonic oscillations as a function of the black hole mass and dimensionless coupling constants of the theory. The key features of quasi-periodic oscillations of test particles near the stable circular orbits in an equatorial plane of the black hole are discussed. We investigate the positions of resonant radii for high-frequency quasi-periodic oscillations models, namely epicyclic resonance and its variants, relativistic precession and its variants, tidal disruption, as well as warped disc models, considered in the background of slowly rotating first and second kinds of slowly rotating Einstein–Æther black holes. Furthermore, Periastron and Lense–Thirring precessions have been discussed. We demonstrate that the dimensionless coupling parameters of the theory have a strong influence on particle motion around Einstein–Æther black holes.

Abstract: Abstract In this work, we study the role of the vanishing complexity factor in generating self-gravitating compact objects under gravitational decoupling technique in f(Q)-gravity theory. To tackle the problem, the gravitationally decoupled action for modified f(Q) gravity has been adopted in the form $${\mathscr {S}}={{\mathscr {S}}_{Q}}+{{\mathscr {S}}^{*}_{\theta }}$$ S = S Q + S θ ∗ , where $${\mathscr {S}}_Q$$ S Q denotes the Lagrangian density of the fields which appears in the f(Q) theory while $${\mathscr {S}}^{*}_{\theta } (=\alpha {\mathscr {S}}_{\theta }$$ S θ ∗ ( = α S θ , where $$\alpha $$ α is just a coupling parameter which controls the deformation) describes the Lagrangian density for a new kind of gravitational sector which has not been included in f(Q) gravity. After that, we developed an important relation between gravitational potentials via a systematic approach (Contreras and Stuchlik in Eur Phys J C 82:706, 2022) using the vanishing complexity factor condition in the context of f(Q) theory. We have used the Buchdahl model along with the mimic-to-density constraints approach for generating the complexity-free anisotropic solution. The qualitative physical analysis has been done along with the mass-radius relation for different compact objects via $$M-R$$ M - R curves to validate our solution. It is noticed that the coupling constant $$\beta _1$$ β 1 has a definite impact on constraining the mass and radii of the object that are shown in $$M-R$$ M - R curves. The obtained results show that the compactness of the objects can be controlled by the coupling parameters.

Abstract: Abstract Charged-lepton-flavor-violation is predicted in several new physics scenarios. We update the analysis of τ lepton decays into a light charged lepton (ℓ = e ± or μ ± ) and a vector meson (V 0 = ρ 0, ϕ, ω, K *0, or K ¯ $$ \overline{K} $$ *0) using 980 fb −1 of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB collider. No significant excess of such signal events is observed, and thus 90% credibility level upper limits are set on the τ → ℓV 0 branching fractions in the range of (1.7–4.3) × 10 −8. These limits are improved by 30% on average from the previous results.

Abstract: Abstract In this work, we attempt to find an anisotropic solution for a compact star generated by gravitational decoupling in f(Q)-gravity theory having a null complexity factor. To do this, we initially derive the complexity factor condition in f(Q) gravity theory using the definition given by Herrera (Phys Rev D 97:044010, 2018) and then derived a bridge equation between gravitational potentials by assuming complexity factor to be zero (Contreras and Stuchlik in Eur Phys J C 82:706, 2022). Next, we obtain two systems of equations using the complete geometric deformation (CGD) approach. The first system of equations is assumed to be an isotropic system in f(Q)-gravity whose isotropic condition is similar to GR while the second system is dependent on deformation functions. The solution of the first system is obtained by Buchdahl’s spacetime geometry while the governing equations for the second system are solved through the mimic constraint approach along with vanishing complexity condition. The novelty of our work is to generalize the perfect fluid solution into an anisotropic domain in f(Q)-gravity theory with zero complexity for the first time. We present the solution’s analysis to test its physical viability. We exhibit that the existence of pressure anisotropy due to gravitational within the self-gravitating bounded object plays a vital role to stabilize the f(Q) gravity system. In addition, we show that the constant involved in the solution controls the direction of energy flow between the perfect fluid and generic fluid matter distributions.

32. Anisotropic compact stars in complexity formalism and isotropic stars made of anisotropic fluid under minimal geometric deformation (MGD) context in $$f(\mathscr {T})$$ f ( T ) gravity-theory

Abstract: Abstract In this paper, we present an anisotropic solution for static and spherically symmetric self-gravitating systems by demanding the vanishing of the complexity factor (Herrera in Phys Rev D 97:044010, 2018) along with the isotropization technique through the gravitational decoupling (GD) approach (Ovalle in Phys Rev D 95:104019, 2017) in $$f(\mathscr {T})$$ f ( T ) -gravity theory. We begin by implementing gravitational decoupling via MGD scheme as the generating mechanism to obtain anisotropic solutions describing physically realizable static, spherical self-gravitating systems. We adopt the Krori–Barua ansatz and present two new classes of stellar solutions: the minimally deformed anisotropic solution with a vanishing complexity factor and the isotropic solution via gravitational decoupling. We demonstrate that both classes of solutions obey conditions of regularity, causality and stability. An interesting feature is the switch in trends of some of the thermodynamical quantities such as effective density, radial and transverse stresses at some finite radius, $$r=r_*$$ r = r ∗ , depending on different values of the decoupling constant $$\beta $$ β . We show that gravitational decoupling via the vanishing complexity factor enhances the stability of the stellar fluid surrounding the core’s central areas. By analyzing the effect of the decoupling constant $$\beta $$ β on the $$M-Y_{TF}$$ M - Y TF plots, (where $$Y_{TF}$$ Y TF denotes the complexity factor) derived from both solutions, we find that a small contribution from the complexity factor leads to the prediction of lower maximum mass of a self-gravitating compact star via gravitational decoupling in $$f(\mathscr {T})$$ f ( T ) -gravity compared to their pure $$f(\mathscr {T})$$ f ( T ) -gravity counterparts. Furthermore, we have also determined the impact of decoupling constant $$\beta $$ β and surface density on predicted radii via $$M{-}R$$ M - R for some known compact objects.

In this regard, we use the Finch–Skea model along with the mimicking of mass constraint to find fluid pressure and the matter-energy density from the Einstein Field Equations (EFE). We tested the physical viability and impact of gravitational decoupling on the anisotropic solution through the graphical representation. Abstract: Abstract This paper is based on the study of compact stars in the context of electric fields and the nonmetricity effects of gravity. Due to this, we are motivated to build stellar models based on spherically symmetric space-time in f(Q) gravity. The space-time solution is obtained by Durgapal and Bannerji (Phys Rev D 27:328–331,1983) potential along with modified Van der Waals equation of state (EoS) $$p_r=\eta \rho ^2+ \frac{\beta \rho }{\gamma \rho +1}$$ p r = η ρ 2 + β ρ γ ρ + 1 by introducing a specific form of electric charge function $$q(r)=kr^3$$ q ( r ) = k r 3 . In order to validate our charge model, we used observational data from the literature for celestial objects like Her X-1, 4U 1538-52, SAX J1808.4-3658, and SMC X-1. Furthermore, we have also retrieved the uncharged effects of gravity for the model SMC X-1 by taking $$k=0$$ k = 0 . Our present physical analysis shows that all the obtained features for the present solution are in excellent agreement with the viable model as far as observational data is concerned.

Abstract: Abstract We present the analysis of two-particle angular correlations using coordinate systems defined with the conventional beam axis and the event thrust axis. We propose the latter as a good representation for the correlation structure interpretation in the e + e − collision system. The e + e − collisions to hadronic final states at center-of-mass energies of s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 10.52 GeV and 10.58 GeV are recorded by the Belle detector at KEKB. In this paper, results on the first dataset are supplementary to the previous Belle publication [1]. At the same time, the latter is the first two-particle correlation measurement at collision energy on the Υ(4S) resonance and is sensitive to its decay products. Measurements are reported as a function of the charged-particle multiplicity. Finally, a qualitative understanding of the correlation structure is discussed using a combination of Monte Carlo simulations and experimental data.

Abstract: Abstract We report the measurement of the two-photon decay width of χ c2(1P) in two-photon processes at the Belle experiment. We analyze the process γγ → χ c2(1P) → J/ψγ, J/ψ → ℓ + ℓ − (ℓ = e or μ) using a data sample of 971 fb −1 collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e + e − collider. In this analysis, the product of the two-photon decay width of χ c2(1P) and the branching fraction is determined to be Γ γγ χ c 2 1 P B χ c 2 1 P → J / ψγ B J / ψ → ℓ + ℓ − = 14.8 ± 0.3 stat . ± 0.7 syst . $$ {\Gamma}_{\gamma \gamma}\left({\chi}_{c2}(1P)\right)\mathcal{B}\left({\chi}_{c2}(1P)\to J/\psi \gamma \right)\mathcal{B}\left(J/\psi \to {\ell}^{+}{\ell}^{-}\right)=14.8\pm 0.3\left(\textrm{stat}.\right)\pm 0.7\left(\textrm{syst}.\right) $$ eV, which corresponds to Γ γγ (χ c2(1P)) = 653 ± 13(stat.) ± 31(syst.) ± 17(B.R.) eV, where the third uncertainty is from B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ (χ c2(1P) → J/ψγ) and B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ (J/ψ → ℓ + ℓ − ).

Abstract: Abstract Using a data sample of 980 fb −1 collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e + e − collider, we study for the first time the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decays Ω c 0 → Ξ − π + $$ {\Omega}_c^0\to {\Xi}^{-}{\pi}^{+} $$ and Ω − K + and the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decay Ω c 0 → Ξ − K + $$ {\Omega}_c^0\to {\Xi}^{-}{K}^{+} $$ . Evidence for an Ω c 0 $$ {\Omega}_c^0 $$ signal in the Ω c 0 $$ {\Omega}_c^0 $$ → Ξ − π + mode is reported with a significance of 4.5σ including systematic uncertainties. The ratio of branching fractions to the normalization mode Ω c 0 $$ {\Omega}_c^0 $$ → Ω − π + is measured to be B Ω c 0 → Ξ − π + / B Ω c 0 → Ω − π + = 0.253 ± 0.052 stat . ± 0.030 syst . . $$ \mathcal{B}\left({\Omega}_c^0\to {\Xi}^{-}{\pi}^{+}\right)/\mathcal{B}\left({\Omega}_c^0\to {\Omega}^{-}{\pi}^{+}\right)=0.253\pm 0.052\left(\textrm{stat}.\right)\pm 0.030\left(\textrm{syst}.\right). $$ No significant signals of Ω c 0 → Ξ − K + $$ {\Omega}_c^0\to {\Xi}^{-}{K}^{+} $$ and Ω − K + modes are found. The upper limits at 90% confidence level on ratios of branching fractions are determined to be B Ω c 0 → Ξ − K + / B Ω c 0 → Ω − π + < 0.070 $$ \mathcal{B}\left({\Omega}_c^0\to {\Xi}^{-}{K}^{+}\right)/\mathcal{B}\left({\Omega}_c^0\to {\Omega}^{-}{\pi}^{+}\right)

Abstract: Abstract A physically reasonable anisotropic stellar model is constructed with the help of the gravitational decoupling via complete geometric deformation (CGD) technique under the condition of vanishing complexity factor [Contreras and Stuchlik in Eur Phys J C 82:706 2022; Herrera, in Phys Rev D 97:044010, 2018]. The source splits into a perfect fluid and an anisotropic distribution. The Finch Skea metric proves a useful seed solution to solve the Einstein sector while the condition of vanishing complexity is invoked to solve the remaining anisotropic system of equations. A comprehensive battery of tests for physical significance is imposed on the model. Through a careful choice of parameter space, it is demonstrated that the model is regular, stable, and contains a surface of vanishing pressure establishing its boundary. Matching with the exterior metric is also achieved. Finally, the energy flows between the two sectors of the source fluid are studied graphically.

Abstract: Abstract In this work, we employ the Karmarkar condition together with the notion of vanishing complexity (Herrera in Phys Rev D 97:044010, 2018) and isotropization technique to generate models of compact stars within the framework of complete geometric deformation. Starting off with the Kuchowicz ansatz as one of the metric potentials for the seed solution, we impose the Karmarkar condition to obtain fully the gravitational behaviour of a static compact object with anisotropic pressure. This solution is then subjected to the complete geometric deformation algorithm. The novelty in our work is to impose the condition of vanishing complexity and isotropization techniques in order to derive the deformation functions. We present two solutions of the resulting governing equations which are subjected to physical viability tests. We demonstrate that the presence of pressure anisotropy within the bounded object plays a key role in determining its stability. In addition, we show that the magnitude of the decoupling constant determines the direction of energy flow between the generic fluid and the fluid matter distribution.

Abstract: Abstract In the present work we have investigated a new anisotropic solution for polytropic stars in the framework of 4D Einstein–Gauss–Bonnet (EGB) gravity. The possibility of determining the masses and radii of compact stars which puts some limitations on equation of state (EoS) above the nuclear saturation density. For this purpose, the 4D EGB field equations are solved by taking a generalized polytropic equation of state (EoS) with Finch–Skea ansatz. The generalized solution for anisotropic model has been tested for different values of Gauss–Bonnet constant $$\alpha $$ α which satisfies all the physical criteria including causality with static stability via mass vs central mass density ( $$M-\rho _c$$ M - ρ c ), Bondi and Abreu criterion. The adiabatic index shows a minor influence of the GB coupling constant whereas the central and surface redshifts in the EGB gravity always remain lower than the GR. We present the possibility of fitting the mass and radius for some known compact star via $$M-R$$ M - R curve which satisfies the recent gravitational wave observations from GW 170817 event.

Abstract: We present a rigorous study of compact objects within f ( Q ) gravity where electrical fields and dark matter are studied and provide novel mass–radius relations with models falling in the mass gap of the events GW190814 and GW200210. After formulating the basic equations and finding their relevant solutions, we impose the boundary conditions on the system under treatment. The decoupled solution for the strange stellar model with the dark matter density profile is obtained. The distribution patterns of the effective energy density and the radial as well as the tangential pressure and anisotropy in the system are intensively examined. The stability properties of the stellar configuration and the influence of dark matter are studied. The recent observations of supermassive compact star candidates such as PSR J1614–2230 and PSR J0952–0607 with observed masses greater than or equal to 2 M _⊙ have been employed in our study. Interestingly, the present study predicts the constraints on mass–radius measurements of the observed stars satisfying the equation of state based on the MIT bag model and employing the condition of mimicking, i.e., ρ ^θ = ${\chi }_{1}{\rho }_{{}_{{\rm{PI}}}}$ in f ( Q ) gravity. Our graphical results exhibit that for a particular M – R curve with fixed values of the parameters, neutron stars having mass less than M _max exist with larger radii within the context of the f ( Q ) formalism.

Abstract: Abstract We investigate the possibility of existing a class of compact charged spheres made of a charged perfect fluid in the framework of Einstein–Gauss–Bonnet theory in five-dimensional spacetime (5D EGB). In order to study spherically symmetric compact stars in EGB gravity, we prefer to apply a systematic and direct approach to decoupling gravitational sources via the minimal geometric deformation approach (MGD), which allows us to prove that the fluid must be anisotropic. In fact, we specify a well-known Krori–Barua spacetime in the MGD approach that helps us to determine the decoupling sector completely. Indeed, by using this approach, we found an exact and physically acceptable solution which satisfies all the elementary criteria of physical acceptability for a stellar solution via mimic approach. Finally, we show that the compactness factor in the presence of gravitational decoupling satisfies the Buchdahal limit under 5D EGB gravity.

Abstract: Abstract We present the first measurement of the branching fraction of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed (SCS) decay Λ c + $$ {\Lambda}_c^{+} $$ → pη′ with η′ → ηπ + π − , using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 981 fb −1, collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB e + e − asymmetric-energy collider. A significant Λ c + $$ {\Lambda}_c^{+} $$ → pη′ signal is observed for the first time with a signal significance of 5.4σ. The relative branching fraction with respect to the normalization mode Λ c + $$ {\Lambda}_c^{+} $$ → pK − π + is measured to be B Λ c + → pη ′ B Λ c + → pK − π + = 7.54 ± 1.32 ± 0.73 × 10 − 3 , $$ \frac{\mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_c^{+}\to p\eta^{\prime}\right)}{\mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_c^{+}\to {pK}^{-}{\pi}^{+}\right)}=\left(7.54\pm 1.32\pm 0.73\right)\times {10}^{-3}, $$ where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. Using the world-average value of B Λ c + → pK − π + $$ \mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_c^{+}\to {pK}^{-}{\pi}^{+}\right) $$ = (6.28 ± 0.32) × 10 −2, we obtain B Λ c + → pη ′ = 4.73 ± 0.82 ± 0.46 ± 0.24 × 10 − 4 , $$ \mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_c^{+}\to p\eta^{\prime}\right)=\left(4.73\pm 0.82\pm 0.46\pm 0.24\right)\times {10}^{-4}, $$ where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and from B Λ c + → pK − π + $$ \mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_c^{+}\to {pK}^{-}{\pi}^{+}\right) $$ , respectively.

Abstract: Abstract In this work, we present a hierarchical solution-generating technique employing the Minimum Gravitational Decoupling (MGD) Method and the generalized concept of Complexity as applied to Class I spacetime for bounded compact objects in classical general relativity. Starting off with an anisotropic seed solution described by Class I spacetime, we apply the MGD technique with the constraint that the effective anisotropy vanishes which leads to an isotropic model. In addition, we produce a second family of solutions in which the Complexity factor [Herrera (Phys Rev D 97:044010, 2018)] for the seed solution and its MGD counterpart are the same. We discuss the physical plausibility of both classes of solutions as candidates for physically realizable compact objects.

Abstract: Abstract We present a measurement of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa unitarity triangle angle ϕ 3 (also known as γ) using a model-independent Dalitz plot analysis of B + → D ( K S 0 $$ {K}_S^0 $$ h + h − )h +, where D is either a D 0 or D ¯ $$ \overline{D} $$ 0 meson and h is either a π or K. This is the first measurement that simultaneously uses Belle and Belle II data, combining samples corresponding to integrated luminosities of 711 fb −1 and 128 fb −1, respectively. All data were accumulated from energy-asymmetric e + e − collisions at a centre-of-mass energy corresponding to the mass of the Υ(4S) resonance. We measure ϕ 3 = (78.4 ± 11.4 ± 0.5 ± 1.0)°, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is the experimental systematic uncertainty and the third is from the uncertainties on external measurements of the D-decay strong-phase parameters.

Abstract: Abstract In this work we explore the characteristics of a polytropic solution for the anisotropic stellar object within the framework of Einstein–Gauss–Bonnet (EGB) gravity. We introduce anisotropy via the minimally gravitational decoupling method. The analysis of the exact solution of the governing equation for the gravitational potentials reveals novel features of the compact object. We find that the EGB coupling constant and the decoupling parameter play important roles in enhancing and suppressing the effective density and radial profiles at each interior point of the bounded object. An analysis of the effective tangential pressure reveals a ‘changeover’ in the trends brought about by the EGB and decoupling constants which may be linked to the cracking observed in classical 4D stellar objects proposed by Herrera (Phys Lett A 165:206, 1992).

48. Role of gravitational decoupling on isotropization and complexity of self-gravitating system under complete geometric deformation approach

Abstract: Abstract In the present paper, we discuss the role of gravitational decoupling to isotropize the anisotropic solution of Einstein’s field equations in the context of the complete geometric deformation (CGD) approach and its influence on the complexity factor introduced by Herrera (Phys Rev D 97:044010, 2018) in the static self-gravitating system. Moreover, we proposed a simple and effective technique as well to generate new solutions for self-gravitating objects via CGD approach by using two systems with the same complexity factor and vanishing complexity factor proposed by Casadio et al. (Eur Phys J C 79:826, 2019). The effect of decoupling constant and the compactness on the complexity factor have also been analyzed for the obtained solutions.

49. Traversable Finslerian wormholes supported by phantom energy

Abstract: This paper supplements the article (Eur. Phys. J. C 76: 246, 2016) by extending some more new wormhole solutions in the background of Finslerian geometry. Here, we present six more solutions by considering i) a linear equation of state (EoS) pr = ωρ and three different shape functions, ii) a linear relationship between radial and tangential pressure as pt = npr with two different redshift functions and iii) a specific density profile with a linear equation of state pr = ωρ. It is found that all these wormholes are violating null energy condition (NEC) signifying that the throats are opened by exotic matters. Abstract: Abstract The article explores the first exact solution in a four-dimensional EGB-gravity with an anisotropic matter source. The solution has been found by two assumptions, a metric potential and the MIT-bag equation of state. Further, the solution has been tested with several physical constraints. Finally, using the boundary condition we have also estimated the range of bag constant $$\mathcal {B}$$ B by varying the mass of the structure and the Gauss-Bonnet coupling constant $$\alpha $$ α . This allows us to check the physical viability of the solution by comparing it with the existing accepted range of bag constant $$\mathcal {B}$$ B .
