Abstract

The article examines the implications of a decision by the Ninth Circuit in the case Mazza v. Am. Honda Motor Co. for the California consumer-protection law. American Honda Motor Co. Inc. was sued for failure to disclose that its sophisticated braking system did not function in inclement weather. The Ninth Circuit reversed the decision of the district court granting a national class under California law.
