This paper proposes a furniture design method combining Kansei engineering (KE) and shape grammar (SG), to explore how the diagonal ridge elements of classical Suzhou-style buildings can be applied to furniture design and to explain how the styling elements match the cultural imagery in furniture products. Suzhou-style armchairs and cultural elements of diagonal ridges were collected, the most suitable armchairs were selected for incorporating such elements, and their shapes were deconstructed along with characteristic interpretations. A factor bank of diagonal ridge elements was constructed, first through Kansei word selection and evaluation experiments, and then through factor analysis which determined the main cultural elements of the design. The shape grammar theory was applied to design and innovate the selected armchair samples, achieving three design solutions. The solutions were then comprehensively evaluated, and the optimal one was used for the final physical product. The results of the study showed that users had clear subjective feelings about the design incorporating diagonal ridge elements, with their Kansei on three aspects: aesthetic style, decorative complexity, and structural balance. The approach used in this work blends furniture products with cultural imagery on diagonal ridges, providing a feasible methodological reference and an empirical case for cultural sustainability through furniture design.

Ginkgo biloba seeds have been used as a traditional Chinese medicine for hundreds of years to treat diseases such as cervicitis, cough, asthma and other lung diseases. As a novel form, the dispensing granules (GSDG) of Ginkgo biloba seeds have been widely employed in clinic. However, its chemical profiling is not yet clear, which has restricted in-depth research in many fields.In this study, a high performance liquid chromatography coupled with quardrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry method was used for the component characteration with the help of accurate molecular weights, fragmentation pathways, reported data, literatures and even some reference standards. Furthermore, in multiple-reaction monitoring mode, a high performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole linear ion trap mass spectrometry method was developed and applied for simultaneous determination of the bioactive phytochemicals.As a result, a total of 56 components in GSDG were identified including 12 amino acids, 9 organic acids, 6 nucleosides and nucleobases, 6 flavonoids, 5 vitamins, 5 terpenoid lactones, 4 carbohydrates and 9 other compounds As for quantitative analysis, glutamic acid, asparatic acid, histidine, ginkgolide A, ginkgolide B, ginkgolide C, ginkgolide J, eucomic acid, N-(N-glucopyranosyl)-indoleacetylaspartate and N-(N-glucopyranosyl)-indoleacetylglutamate were selected as the analytes for quanlity marker of GSDG. After necessary validation tests, the developed quantitative method was successfully put into use for 10 batches of GSDG. In all batches, N-(N-glucopyranosyl)-indoleacetylaspartate was the richest phytochemical with the amount of 17.3–25.7 mg/g while ginkgolide J (0.0197–0.0335 mg/g) was determined to be the poorest.The study is supposed to exhibit a comprehensive chemical profiling and to provide some strong basis for preparation technology, quality control and even for action mechanism of GSDG, this novel form of Chinese medicine.

The complex thermo-fluid dynamics of the molten pool determine the dimension accuracy and mechanical properties of laser directed energy deposition (L-DED) components. In this work, a three-dimensional (3D) multiphase computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model based on the Volume of Fluid (VOF) method was proposed to establish the relationship between the thermo-fluid dynamics and the molten pool morphology evolution of René N5 nickel-based superalloy in L-DED. The single-track and ten-layer deposition processes under unidirectional and bidirectional scanning strategies were studied. Results show that the predicted deposition morphology and dimensions are in good agreement with the experimental samples. The heat accumulation in the multilayer deposition process increases the size of the molten pool, thereby increasing the width of the deposit. Different from the single-layer deposition driven by the Marangoni force, gravity is the key factor in the multilayer deposition process without the side support. The hump structure at the starting position under unidirectional scanning is attributed to the backward flow of the melt of the molten pool, while the decline structure at the end position is enhanced by the forward flow of the melt. At the starting position of each layer under bidirectional scanning, the expansion of the molten pool resulted from the heat accumulation and mass addition increases the width of the two ends and compensates for the deposition height. This work can provide a theoretical basis for understanding the uneven morphology characteristics and the dimensional accuracy control in L-DED.

SLC25A26 is the only known human mitochondrial S-adenosylmethionine carrier encoding gene. Recent studies have shown that SLC25A26 is abnormally expressed in some cancers, such as cervical cancer, low-grade glioma, non-small cell lung cancer, and liver cancer, which suggests SLC25A26 can affect the occurrence and development of some cancers. This article in brief briefly reviewed mitochondrial S-adenosylmethionine carrier in different species and its encoding gene, focused on the association of SLC25A26 aberrant expression and some cancers as well as potential mechanisms, summarized its potential for cancer prognosis, and characteristics of mitochondrial diseases caused by SLC25A26 mutation. Finally, we provide a brief expectation that needs to be further investigated. We speculate that SLC25A26 will be a potential new therapeutic target for some cancers.

Abstract Retrieval-based Clinical Decision Support (ReCDS) can aid clinical workflow by providing relevant literature and similar patients for a given patient. However, the development of ReCDS systems has been severely obstructed by the lack of diverse patient collections and publicly available large-scale patient-level annotation datasets. In this paper, we collect a novel dataset of patient summaries and relations called PMC-Patients to benchmark two ReCDS tasks: Patient-to-Article Retrieval (ReCDS-PAR) and Patient-to-Patient Retrieval (ReCDS-PPR). Specifically, we extract patient summaries from PubMed Central articles using simple heuristics and utilize the PubMed citation graph to define patient-article relevance and patient-patient similarity. PMC-Patients contains 167k patient summaries with 3.1 M patient-article relevance annotations and 293k patient-patient similarity annotations, which is the largest-scale resource for ReCDS and also one of the largest patient collections. Human evaluation and analysis show that PMC-Patients is a diverse dataset with high-quality annotations. We also implement and evaluate several ReCDS systems on the PMC-Patients benchmarks to show its challenges and conduct several case studies to show the clinical utility of PMC-Patients.

Gold-based nanoparticles for surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) imaging show great potential for precise tumor detection and photothermal therapy (PTT). However, the metabolizability of gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) raises big concerns. Herein, we designed a core-shelled nanostructure of copper sulfide (CuS)-coated Au NPs with surface pegylation (PEG-Au@CuS NSs). The excreted Au in the gallbladders at 1 h and 4 h in mice injected with PEG-Au@CuS NSs was 8.2- and 19.1-fold of that with the pegylated Au NPs (PEG-AuNPs) of the same Au particle size, respectively. By loading the Raman reporter 3,3′-Diethylthiatricarbocyanine iodide (DTTC) in the core–shell junction of PEG-Au@CuS NSs, the PEG-Au-DTTC@CuS NSs exhibited the Raman signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio of 4.01 after 24 h of intravenous (IV) injection in the mice bearing an orthotopic CT26-Luc colon tumor. By contrast, the DTTC-coated PEG-AuNPs (PEG-Au-DTTC NPs) achieved an S/N ratio of 2.71. Moreover, PEG-Au-DTTC@CuS NSs exhibited an increased photothermal conversion effect compared with PEG-Au-DTTC NPs excited with an 808-nm laser. PEG-Au-DTTC@CuS NSs enabled intraoperative SERS image-guided photothermal therapy for a complete cure of the colon tumor-bearing mice. Our data demonstrated that the PEG-Au-DTTC@CuS NSs are promising intraoperative Raman image-guided theranostic nanoplatform with enhanced hepatobiliary excretion.

Summary: Micro-supercapacitors (MSCs) stand out in the field of micro energy storage devices due to their high power density, long cycle life, and environmental friendliness. The key to improving the electrochemical performance of MSCs is the selection of appropriate electrode materials. To date, both the composition and structure of electrode materials in MSCs have become a hot research topic, and it is urgent to compose a review to highlight the most important research achievements, major challenges, opportunities, and encouraging perspectives in this field. In this review, research background of MSCs is first reviewed followed by their working principles, structural classifications, and physiochemical and electrochemical characterization techniques. Next, various materials and preparation methods are summarized, and the relationship between the MSC performance and structure and composition of materials are discussed in depth. Finally, this review provides a comprehensive suggestion on accelerating the development of electrode materials to facilitate the commercialization of MSCs.

Abstract Since the initial discovery of Ti3C2 a decade ago, there has been a significant surge of interest in 2D MXenes and MXene‐based composites. This can be attributed to the remarkable intrinsic properties exhibited by MXenes, including metallic conductivity, abundant functional groups, unique layered microstructure, and the ability to control interlayer spacing. These properties contribute to the exceptional electrical and mechanical performance of MXenes, rendering them highly suitable for implementation as candidate materials in flexible and wearable energy storage devices. Recently, a substantial number of novel research has been dedicated to exploring MXene‐based flexible materials with diverse functionalities and specifically designed structures, aiming to enhance the efficiency of energy storage systems. In this review, a comprehensive overview of the synthesis and fabrication strategies employed in the development of these diverse MXene‐based materials is provided. Furthermore, an in‐depth analysis of the energy storage applications exhibited by these innovative flexible materials, encompassing supercapacitors, Li‐ion batteries, Li–S batteries, and other potential avenues, is conducted. In addition to presenting the current state of the field, the challenges encountered in the implementation of MXene‐based flexible materials are also highlighted and insights are provided into future research directions and prospects.

The importance of developing high-resolution seismic models to improve understanding of tectonic processes and enhance seismic hazard mitigation programs, along with the rapid expansion of seismic coverage in China, called for a seismological reference model to be established in China. The China Seismological Reference Model (CSRM) project was initiated by the National Natural Science Foundation of China with two primary goals: (1) the CSRM would serve as a primary source for the current state of seismological research in China, and (2) the seismic data and constraints used to construct the CSRM would be used as a backbone open-access cyberinfrastructure for future research in seismology. The CSRM project was also intended to promote data exchange and scientific collaboration in seismology in China. Accordingly, two parallel efforts of the project are being pursued: (1) construction of the CSRM, and (2) development of a CSRM product center. The CSRM is jointly constrained by various types of seismic constraints extracted from the seismic data recorded at 4511 seismic stations in continental China following a top-down approach, with the seismic structures in the shallower part of the Earth constrained first. Construction of the CSRM involves three preparation steps: (1) building datasets of various seismic constraints from the seismic data, (2) developing a method to incorporate the constraints of surface wave observations from regional earthquakes into the inversion of the seismic structure, and (3) constructing high-resolution pre-CSRM seismic models of the velocity structure in the shallow crust and the Pn-velocity structure in the uppermost mantle. In the final process, the CSRM will be constructed by jointly inverting all the seismic constraints using the pre-CSRM models as starting models or a priori structures. The CSRM product center (http://chinageorefmodel.org) archives and distributes three types of products: CSRM models, the Level 1 original seismic data used to extract seismic constraints in the construction of the CSRM, and Level 2 data on the seismic constraints derived from the Level 1 data and the inferred earthquake parameters in the construction of the CSRM. The CSRM product center has archived 141 TB of Level 1 data from 1120 permanent broadband stations in the China Seismic Network Center and 3391 temporary stations from various institutions and data centers around the world, as well as 140 GB of Level 2 data on various seismic constraints and inferred event parameters from the construction of the CSRM. The CSRM is expected to provide significant insights into the composition and tectonic dynamics in continental China and to enhance the capability of various seismic hazard mitigation programs in China from near real-time rapid determination of earthquake parameters to an earthquake early warning system. The CSRM could also provide guidance for focuses in future seismological research and the design of future active and passive seismic experiments in China. Several focuses are suggested for future seismological research in China, along with the building of a national cyberinfrastructure to sustain and expand the operations of the CSRM project.

Abstract Background Fear of cancer recurrence (FCR) and psychological distress are common psychological problems in breast cancer (BC) patients and ultimately affecting their health‐related quality of life (HRQoL). Heart rate variability (HRV) can reflect the activity of the parasympathetic nervous system. However, the pathways through which HRV influences between FCR and HRQoL are unclear. This study preliminarily explored the intermediary role of HRV in FCR and HRQoL in BC patients. Methods A total of 101 BC patients participated in this study. HRV parameters were measured by a 5‐min dynamic electrocardiogram. FCR, psychological distress and HRQoL were evaluated by the Fear of disease progression simplified scale (FOP‐Q‐SF), Distress thermometer and SF‐36 concise health survey. The intermediary effect model was established to test the intermediary effect of high frequency‐HRV (HF‐HRV) on FCR and HRQoL. Results FCR and psychological distress were negatively correlated with HRV in the time domain, negatively correlated with HF‐HRV in the frequency domain, and positively correlated with low frequency/high frequency (LF/HF). HF‐HRV had a partial mediating effect on the FCR and physical health and mental health, with effects of 30.23% and 9.53%, respectively. Conclusion FCR and psychological distress are correlated with HRV parameters in the time domain and the frequency domain, and we preliminarily believe that parasympathetic nerves play an important intermediary role between FCR and subjective physical and mental health. This may provide intervention information for improving the HRQoL of BC patients.

Abstract Background Differentiating between Crohn’s disease (CD) and intestinal tuberculosis (ITB) with endoscopy is challenging. We aim to perform more accurate endoscopic diagnosis between CD and ITB by building a trustworthy AI differential diagnosis application. Methods A total of 1271 electronic health record (EHR) patients who had undergone colonoscopies at Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) and were clinically diagnosed with CD (n = 875) or ITB (n = 396) were used in this study. We build a workflow to make diagnoses with EHRs and mine differential diagnosis features; this involves finetuning the pretrained language models, distilling them into a light and efficient TextCNN model, interpreting the neural network and selecting differential attribution features, and then adopting manual feature checking and carrying out debias training. Results The accuracy of debiased TextCNN on differential diagnosis between CD and ITB is 0.83 (CR F1: 0.87, ITB F1: 0.77), which is the best among the baselines. On the noisy validation set, its accuracy was 0.70 (CR F1: 0.87, ITB: 0.69), which was significantly higher than that of models without debias. We also find that the debiased model more easily mines the diagnostically significant features. The debiased TextCNN unearthed 39 diagnostic features in the form of phrases, 17 of which were key diagnostic features recognized by the guidelines. Conclusion We build a trustworthy AI differential diagnosis application for differentiating between CD and ITB focusing on accuracy, interpretability and robustness. The classifiers perform well, and the features which had statistical significance were in agreement with clinical guidelines.

Abstract Background Copper-induced cell death (cuproptosis) is a new regulatory cell death mechanism. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are related to tumor immunity and metastasis. However, the correlation of cuproptosis-related lncRNAs with the immunotherapy response and prognosis of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) patients is not clear. Methods We obtained the clinical characteristics and transcriptome data from TCGA-LUAD dataset (containing 539 LUAD and 59 paracancerous tissues). By utilizing LASSO-penalized Cox regression analysis, we identified a prognostic signature composed of cuproptosis-related lncRNAs. This signature was then utilized to segregate patients into two different risk categories based on their respective risk scores. The identification of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between high- and low-risk groups was carried out using Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analyses. We evaluated the immunotherapy response by analyzing tumor mutational burden (TMB), immunocyte infiltration and Tumor Immune Dysfunction and Exclusion (TIDE) web application. The "pRRophetic" R package was utilized to conduct further screening of potential therapeutic drugs for their sensitivity. Results We ultimately identified a prognostic risk signature that includes six cuproptosis-related lncRNAs (AP003778.1, AC011611.2, CRNDE, AL162632.3, LY86-AS1, and AC090948.1). Compared with clinical characteristics, the signature was significantly correlated with prognosis following the control of confounding variables (HR = 2.287, 95% CI = 1.648–3.174, p ˂ 0.001), and correctly predicted 1-, 2-, and 3-year overall survival (OS) rates (AUC value = 0.725, 0.715, and 0.662, respectively) in LUAD patients. In terms of prognosis, patients categorized as low risk exhibited more positive results in comparison to those in the high-risk group. The enrichment analysis showed that the two groups had different immune signaling pathways. Immunotherapy may offer a more appropriate treatment option for high-risk patients due to their higher TMB and lower TIDE scores. The higher risk score may demonstrate increased sensitivity to bexarotene, cisplatin, epothilone B, and vinorelbine. Conclusions Based on cuproptosis-related lncRNAs, we constructed and validated a novel risk signature that may be used to predict immunotherapy efficacy and prognosis in LUAD patients.

Cancer vaccines represent a promising immunotherapeutic treatment modality. The promotion of cross-presentation of extracellular tumor-associated antigens on the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules and dendritic cell maturation at the appropriate time and place is crucial for cancer vaccines to prime cytolytic T cell response with reduced side effects. Current vaccination strategies, however, are not able to achieve the spatiotemporal control of antigen cross-presentation. Here, we report a liposomal vaccine loading the second near-infrared window (NIR-II, 1000–1700 nm) fluorophore BPBBT with an efficient photothermal conversion effect that offers an NIR-light-triggered endolysosomal escape under the imaging guidance. The NIR-II image-guided vaccination strategy specifically controls the cytosolic delivery of antigens for cross-presentation in the draining lymph nodes (DLNs). Moreover, the photothermally induced endolysosomal rupture initiates autophagy. We also find that the adjuvant simvastatin acts as an autophagy activator through inhibiting the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway. The light-induced autophagy in the DLNs together with simvastatin treatment cooperatively increase MHC class II expression by activating autophagy machinery for dendritic cell maturation. This study presents a paradigm of NIR-II image-guided light-triggered vaccination. The approach for remote control of antigen cross-presentation and autophagy represents a new strategy for vaccine development.

Abstract In recent years, there have been several solutions to medical image segmentation, such as U-shaped structure, transformer-based network, and multi-scale feature learning method. However, their network parameters and real-time performance are often neglected and cannot segment boundary regions well. The main reason is that such networks have deep encoders, a large number of channels, and excessive attention to local information rather than global information, which is crucial to the accuracy of image segmentation. Therefore, we propose a novel multi-branch medical image segmentation network MBSNet. We first design two branches using a parallel residual mixer (PRM) module and dilate convolution block to capture the local and global information of the image. At the same time, a SE-Block and a new spatial attention module enhance the output features. Considering the different output features of the two branches, we adopt a cross-fusion method to effectively combine and complement the features between different layers. MBSNet was tested on five datasets ISIC2018, Kvasir, BUSI, COVID-19, and LGG. The combined results show that MBSNet is lighter, faster, and more accurate. Specifically, for a $$320 \times 320$$ 320 × 320 input, MBSNet’s FLOPs is 10.68G, with an F1-Score of $$85.29\%$$ 85.29 % on the Kvasir test dataset, well above $$78.73\%$$ 78.73 % for UNet++ with FLOPs of 216.55G. We also use the multi-criteria decision making method TOPSIS based on F1-Score, IOU and Geometric-Mean (G-mean) for overall analysis. Abstract Background Plants sustain intimate relationships with diverse microbes. It is well-recognized that these plant-associated microbiota shape individual performance and fitness of host plants, but much remains to be explored regarding how they exert their function and maintain their homeostasis. Results Here, using pink lady (Heterotis rotundifolia) as a study plant, we investigated the phenomenon of microbiota-mediated nitrogen fixation and elucidated how this process is steadily maintained in the root mucilage microhabitat. Metabolite and microbiota profiling showed that the aerial root mucilage is enriched in carbohydrates and diazotrophic bacteria. Nitrogen isotope-labeling experiments, 15N natural abundance, and gene expression analysis indicated that the aerial root-mucilage microbiota could fix atmospheric nitrogen to support plant growth. While the aerial root mucilage is a hotspot of nutrients, we did not observe high abundance of other environmental and pathogenic microbes inside. We further identified a fungus isolate in mucilage that has shown broad-spectrum antimicrobial activities, but solely allows the growth of diazotrophic bacteria. This “friendly” fungus may be the key driver to maintain nitrogen fixation function in the mucilage microhabitat. Video Abstract Conclusion The discovery of new biological function and mucilage-habitat friendly fungi provides insights into microbial homeostasis maintenance of microenvironmental function and rhizosphere ecology.

Abstract Background Chemotherapy‐related cognitive impairment (CRCI) is a common but easily overlooked condition that markedly affects the quality of life (QOL) of patients with breast cancer. The rs671 is a common gene polymorphism of aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2) in Asia that is involved in aldehyde metabolism and may be closely related to CRCI. However, no study has yet summarised the association between ALDH2 and CRCI. Methods This study enrolled one hundred and twenty‐four patients diagnosed with breast cancer according to the pathology results, genotyped for ALDH2 single‐nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) to explore these. The mini‐mental state exam (MMSE), verbal fluency test (VFT), and digit span test (DST) results were compared in these patients before and after chemotherapy (CT). Results We found that patients with ALDH2 gene genotypes of rs671_GG, rs886205_GG, rs4648328_CC, and rs4767944_TT polymorphisms were more likely to suffer from cognitive impairment during chemotherapy. Background & Aims: The machinery that prevents colorectal cancer liver metastasis (CRLM) in the context of liver regeneration (LR) remains elusive. Ceramide (CER) is a potent anti-cancer lipid involved in intercellular interaction. Here, we investigated the role of CER metabolism in mediating the interaction between hepatocytes and metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) cells to regulate CRLM in the context of LR. Methods: Mice were intrasplenically injected with CRC cells. LR was induced by 2/3 partial hepatectomy (PH) to mimic the CRLM in the context of LR. The alteration of corresponding CER-metabolizing genes was examined. The biological roles of CER metabolism in vitro and in vivo were examined by performing a series of functional experiments. Results: Induction of LR augmented apoptosis but promoted matrix metalloproteinase 2 (MMP2) expression and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) to increase the invasiveness of metastatic CRC cells, resulting in aggressive CRLM. Up-regulation of sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase 3 (SMPD3) was determined in the regenerating hepatocytes after LR induction and persisted in the CRLM-adjacent hepatocytes after CRLM formation. Hepatic Smpd3 knockdown was found to further promote CRLM in the context of LR by abolishing mitochondrial apoptosis and augmenting the invasiveness in metastatic CRC cells by up-regulating MMP2 and EMT through promoting the nuclear translocation of β-catenin. Mechanistically, we found that hepatic SMPD3 controlled the generation of exosomal CER in the regenerating hepatocytes and the CRLM-adjacent hepatocytes. The SMPD3-produced exosomal CER critically conducted the intercellular transfer of CER from the hepatocytes to metastatic CRC cells and impeded CRLM by inducing mitochondrial apoptosis and restricting the invasiveness in metastatic CRC cells. The administration of nanoliposomal CER was found to suppress CRLM in the context of LR substantially. Conclusions: SMPD3-produced exosomal CER constitutes a critical anti-CRLM mechanism in LR to impede CRLM, offering the promise of using CER as a therapeutic agent to prevent the recurrence of CRLM after PH.

Breast cancer is a grave traumatic experience that can profoundly compromise patients’ psychological resilience, impacting their overall quality of life. The oxytocin system represents one of the essential neurobiological bases of psychological resilience and plays a critical role in regulating resilience in response to social or traumatic events during adulthood. Oxytocin, through its direct interaction with peripheral or central oxytocin receptors, has been found to have a significant impact on regulating social behavior. However, the precise mechanism by which the activation of peripheral oxytocin receptors leads to improved social is still not completely comprehended and requires additional research. Its activation can modulate psychological resilience by influencing estrogen and its receptors, the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, thyroid function, 5-hydroxytryptamine metabolism levels, and arginine pressure release in breast cancer patients. Various interventions, including psychotherapy and behavioral measures, have been employed to improve the psychological resilience of breast cancer patients. The potential effectiveness of such interventions may be underpinned by their ability to modulate oxytocin release levels. This review provides an overview of the oxytocin system and resilience in breast cancer patients and identifies possible future research directions and interventions.

To achieve common prosperity, we need to equalize the labor productivity in agriculture with that in other non-agricultural sectors. China’s agricultural labor productivity is less than 1/3 of that in the manufacturing and service industries. Our analysis on the trend of agricultural development suggests that it is essential to raise the agricultural labor productivity through internal labor division to ensure national food security. The breeding industry needs to transform toward scaled and modernized development and the planting industry needs to change to a new pattern—20% of large-scale farmers produce 80% of agricultural products or contribute 20% of added value while 80% of small-scale farmers produce 20% of agricultural products or contribute 80% of added value. Large-scale farmers mainly produce bulk agricultural products including grain to ensure food security while small-scale farmers develop highvalue agriculture to ensure income growth. Eventually, the labor productivity of large- and small-scale farmers will converge to achieve common prosperity, which is inevitable for China’s agricultural development and is an ideal vision in line with national realities. However, the task of transforming to the new pattern is arduous, and the government needs to make major strategic deployments and introduce corresponding safeguards and incentive measures. Particularly, it is necessary to establish a policy support system for large- and small-scale farmers, accelerate the progress of urban-rural integrated development, improve the land transfer markets, optimize the innovative system of agricultural science and technology as well as the human capacity building system, and establish an organizational guarantee system to realize agricultural modernization.

Since the first report on truly two-dimensional (2D) magnetic materials in 2017, a wide variety of merging 2D magnetic materials with unusual physical characteristics have been discovered and thus provide an effective platform for exploring the associated novel 2D spintronic devices, which have been made significant progress in both theoretical and experimental studies. Herein, we make a comprehensive review on the recent scientific endeavors and advances on the various engineering strategies on 2D ferromagnets, such as strain-, doping-, structural- and electric field-engineering, toward practical spintronic applications, including spin tunneling junctions, spin field-effect transistors and spin logic gate, etc. In the last, we discuss on current challenges and future opportunities in this field, which may provide useful guidelines for scientists who are exploring the fundamental physical properties and practical spintronic devices of low-dimensional magnets.

Objective: To evaluate the effects of managing cancer and living meaningfully (CALM), a psychological intervention with semi-structured interviews, on cancer-related fatigue (CRF), quality of life (QOL), and sleep quality in patients with gastrointestinal (GI) cancer, which may be accompanied by changes in cytokine levels. Methods: A total of 152 GI cancer patients with CRF were enrolled in the study during treatment. Patients were randomly assigned to CALM or usual care (UC) groups. Patients in the CALM group received 12 weeks of CALM plus usual care, and patients in the UC group received usual care plus usual health education. All study participants were evaluated at baseline and at 12 weeks using the Revised Piper Fatigue Scale, the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer-Quality of Life Questionnaire-Core 30, and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scale, while cytokine levels were measured. This article reviews China’s agricultural development history and prospects China’s agricultural development by 2050 considering the implications of global agricultural development trends on China’s agriculture. The transformations of the overall economic structure and the rural economy should be combined to enhance agricultural labor productivity and promote the rapid development of agriculture. By 2050, the share of agriculture GDP in China’s total economy and the share of agricultural employment in China's total employment will reach convergency gradually. China’s food self-sufficiency rate will drop from the current 95% to about 90% in 2035 and will further drop by 2050. High-value agricultural products and multifunctional agriculture are the major driving forces for future agricultural growth and income raise of farmers. The strategic priorities for realizing China’s agricultural modernization by 2050 include: (1) improving agricultural productivity and ensuring national food security; (2) maximizing the comparative advantages of agricultural products; (3) promoting green, high-efficiency, and high-value agriculture; (4) guaranteeing sustainable utilization of agricultural water and soil resources; and (5) guiding modern agricultural development through institutional, policy, and investment reforms. Salient policy recommendations include: (1) increasing investment in technology and infrastructure to improve agricultural productivity; (2) enhancing the development of advantageous agriculture and agriculture with large demand potentials based on ensuring food security; (3) improving the market environment by rectifying market failures to support the development of high-value agriculture; (4) maintaining the sustainable development of agriculture; and (5) optimizing the allocation of land, labor, capital, and other agricultural production factors.

In capacitive microelectromechanical system (MEMS) devices, the application of dielectric materials causes long-term charging problems in the dielectric layers or substrates, which especially affect the repeatability and stability of high-performance devices. Due to the difficulties of observation and characterization of charge accumulation, an accurate characterization method is needed to study the effect of charge and propose suppression methods. In this paper, we analyze the influence of charge accumulation on the MSRG and propose a characterization method for charge accumulation based on stiffness variation. Experiments are carried out to characterize the charge accumulation in MSRG, and the effect of temperature on the process is also investigated. In the experiment, the charge accumulation is characterized accurately by the variation of the frequency split and stiffness axes. Furthermore, the acceleration of the charge accumulation is observed at high temperatures, as is the higher additional voltage from the charge accumulation.

Nanocomposites that combine porous materials and a continuous conductive skeleton as a sulfur host can improve the performance of lithium–sulfur (Li-S) batteries. Herein, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) anchoring small-size (~40 nm) N-doped porous carbon polyhedrons (S-NCPs/CNTs) are designed and synthesized via annealing the precursor of zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 grown in situ on CNTs (ZIF-8/CNTs). In the nanocomposite, the S-NCPs serve as an efficient host for immobilizing polysulfides through physical adsorption and chemical bonding, while the interleaved CNT networks offer an efficient charge transport environment. Moreover, the S-NCP/CNT composite with great features of a large specific surface area, high pore volume, and short electronic/ion diffusion depth not only demonstrates a high trapping capacity for soluble lithium polysulfides but also offers an efficient charge/mass transport environment, and an effective buffering of volume changes during charge and discharge. As a result, the Li-S batteries based on a S/S-NCP/CNT cathode deliver a high initial capacity of 1213.8 mAh g−1 at a current rate of 0.2 C and a substantial capacity of 1114.2 mAh g−1 after 100 cycles, corresponding to a high-capacity retention of 91.7%. This approach provides a practical research direction for the design of MOF-derived carbon materials in the application of high-performance Li–S batteries.

Abstract Whole-angle gyroscopes have broad prospects for development with inherent advantages of excellent scale factor, wide bandwidth and measurement range, which are restrictions on rate gyroscopes. Previous studies on the whole-angle mode are based mostly on the linear model of Lynch, and the essential nonlinearity of capacitive displacement detection is always neglected, which has significant negative effects on the performance. In this paper, a novel real-time calibration method of capacitive displacement detection is proposed to eliminate these nonlinear effects. This novel method innovatively takes advantage of the relationship between the first and third harmonic components of detective signals for calibration. Based on this method, the real-time calibration of capacitive displacement detection is achieved and solves the problems of traditional methods, which are usually related to the vibration amplitude, environmental variations and other factors. Furthermore, this novel calibration method is embedded into a whole-angle control system to restore the linear capacitive response in real time and then combined with a microshell resonator for the first time to exploit the enormous potential of an ultrahigh Q factor and symmetric structure. The effectiveness is proven because the angle drift is reduced significantly to improve the scale-factor nonlinearity by 14 times to 0.79 ppm with 0.0673°/h bias instability and a 0.001°/s rate threshold, which is the best reported performance of the MEMS whole-angle gyroscope thus far. More importantly, this novel calibration method can be applied for all kinds of resonators with the requirement of a linear capacitive response even under a large resonant amplitude.

Background: Accurate assessment of fetal descent by monitoring the fetal head (FH) station remains a clinical challenge in guiding obstetric management. Angle of progression (AoP) has been suggested to be a reliable and reproducible parameter for the assessment of FH descent.Methods: A novel framework, including image segmentation, target fitting and AoP calculation, is proposed for evaluating fetal descent. For image segmentation, this study presents a novel double branch segmentation network (DBSN), which consists of two parts: an encoding part receives image input, and a decoding part composed of deformable convolutional blocks and ordinary convolutional blocks. The decoding part includes the lower and upper branches, and the feature map of the lower branch is used as the input of the upper branch to assist the upper branch in decoding after being constrained by the attention gate (AG). Given an original transperineal ultrasound (TPU) image, areas of the pubic symphysis (PS) and FH are firstly segmented using the proposed DBSN, the ellipse contours of segmented regions are secondly fitted with the least square method, and three endpoints are finally determined for calculating AoP.Results: Our private dataset with 313 transperineal ultrasound (TPU) images was used for model evaluation with 5-fold cross-validation. The proposed method achieves the highest Dice coefficient (93.4%), the smallest Average Surface Distance (6.268 pixels) and the lowest AoP difference (5.993°) by comparing four state-of-the-art methods. Similar results (Dice coefficient: 91.7%, Average Surface Distance: 7.729 pixels: AoP difference: 5.110°) were obtained on a public dataset with >3,700 TPU images for evaluating its generalization performance.Conclusion: The proposed framework may be used for the automatic measurement of AoP with high accuracy and generalization performance. However, its clinical availability needs to be further evaluated.

Background: With the increasing popularity of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) by the global community, how to teach basic knowledge of TCM to international students and improve the teaching quality are important issues for teachers of TCM. The present study was to analyze the perceptions from both students and teachers on how to improve TCM learning internationally. Methods: A cross-sectional national survey was conducted at 23 universities/colleges across China. A structured, self-reported on-line questionnaire was administered to 34 Chinese teachers who taught TCM course in English and to 1016 international undergraduates who were enrolled in the TCM course in China between 2017 and 2021. Results: Thirty-three (97.1%) teachers and 900 (88.6%) undergraduates agreed Chinese culture should be fully integrated into TCM courses. All teachers and 944 (92.9%) undergraduates thought that TCM had important significance in the clinical practice. All teachers and 995 (97.9%) undergraduates agreed that modern research of TCM is valuable. Thirty-three (97.1%) teachers and 959 (94.4%) undergraduates thought comparing traditional medicine in different countries with TCM can help the students better understand TCM. Thirty-two (94.1%) teachers and 962 (94.7%) undergraduates agreed on the use of practical teaching method with case reports. From the perceptions of the undergraduates, the top three beneficial learning styles were practice (34.3%), teacher's lectures (32.5%), case studies (10.4%). The first choice of learning mode was attending to face-to-face teaching (82.3%). The top three interesting contents were acupuncture (75.5%), Chinese herbal medicine (63.8%), and massage (55.0%). Conclusion: To improve TCM learning among international undergraduates majoring in conventional medicine, integration of Chinese culture into TCM course, comparison of traditional medicine in different countries with TCM, application of the teaching method with case reports, and emphasization of clinical practice as well as modern research on TCM should be fully considered.

Background: The number of patients with breast cancer is increasing worldwide, resulting in a growing number of patients with chemotherapy-related cognitive impairment (CRCI), which seriously affects their quality of life. CRCI is associated with inflammatory factors and systemic inflammatory markers such as pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV) and monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR), which can reflect the level of inflammation in the body. While the Managing Cancer and Living Meaningfully (CALM) intervention has been demonstrated to alleviate CRCI in patients with breast cancer, the specific mechanism remains unclear. Objective: This study evaluated the impact of the CALM intervention on systemic inflammation. Methods: Ninety patients with breast cancer with CRCI were enrolled and randomized into care as usual (CAU) and CALM intervention groups. All patients were assessed using the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Cognitive Function (FACT-Cog), Mini-Mental State Exam (MMSE), and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Breast (FACT-B) before and after the CAU/CALM intervention. BackgroundPrevious findings indicated that breast cancer patients often have dysfunction in empathy and other cognitive functions during or after chemotherapy. However, the manifestations and possible neuro-electrophysiological mechanisms of pain empathy impairment in breast cancer patients after chemotherapy were still unknown.ObjectiveThe current study aimed to investigate the potential correlations between pain empathy impairment and event-related potentials (ERP) in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.MethodsTwenty-two breast cancer patients were evaluated on a neuropsychological test and pain empathy paradigm before and after chemotherapy, containing the Chinese version of the Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI-C), while recording ERP data.ResultsThe empathic concern scores were lower and personal distress scores were higher on IRI-C task compared with those before chemotherapy (t = 3.039, p < 0.01; t = −2.324, p < 0.05, respectively). Meanwhile, the accuracy rates were lower than those before chemotherapy for both pain and laterality tasks on the pain empathy paradigm (F = 5.099, P = 0.035). However, the response time was no significant differences before and after chemotherapy (F = 0.543, P = 0.469). Further, the amplitude of the N1 component was significantly increased (F = 38.091, P < 0.001), and the amplitude of the P2 component was significantly decreased (F = 15.046, P = 0.001) in the subsequent ERP study. A linear mixed effect model was used to analyze the correlation, the average amplitude of N1 and P2 were positively correlated with the accuracy rates in laterality tasks (r = 1.765, r = 1.125, respectively, P < 0.05).ConclusionThe results indicated that pain empathy impairment was performed in chemotherapeutic breast cancer patients, which was possibly correlated to the changes of N1 and P2 components in ERP. These findings provide neuro-electrophysiological information about chemo-brain in breast cancer patients.

BackgroundThe changes in inflammation and tumor biomarkers are associated with the anti-tumor immunological processes. Early detection and intervention are of great significance to the clinical management of cancer-related diseases. Peripheral blood biomarkers [e.g., neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), and carbohydrate antigen 153 (CA153)] are obtained in real-timely, conveniently, and less invasively, and proved to availably predicted the disease states and prognosis of various cancers, including breast cancer (BC). Inflammation and poor disease management promote cognitive impairment. Chemotherapy-related cognitive impairment (CRCI) hazard long-term survival and quality of life (QOL) of BC patients, but its correlation with NLR, CEA, and CA153 is not clear.PurposeThis study aimed to investigate changes in NLR, CEA, and CA153 levels before and after chemotherapy and their correlation with CRCI in patients with early-stage BC.Materials and methodsThe 187 patients with BC who were measured for NLR, CEA, and CA153 values within the first 24 hours of admission, were assigned into two groups: the before/after chemotherapy group (BCG/ACG). The ACG was assigned into two subgroups based on the cognitive assessment results: the cognitive normal/impaired group (CNG/CIG). Patients’ self-perceived cognitive impairments were evaluated using a mini-mental state examination (MMSE), prospective and retrospective memory (PM and RM) questionnaire (PRMQ), and functional assessment of cancer therapy-cognitive function version 3 (FACT-Cog, version 3, including CogPCI, CogOth, CogPCA, and CogQOL). Their QOL was also evaluated.ResultsThe NLR and CA153 levels were elevated after chemotherapy (BCG vs ACG: Z = −1.996 and −1.615, P = 0.046 and 0.106, respectively), and significantly elevated in patients with CRCI (BCG vs CIG: Z = −2.444 and -2.293, P = 0.015 and 0.022; respectively). However, there was not reach significant difference in CEA levels between the four groups. In addition, there was a weak to moderate correlation between peripheral blood biomarkers (NLR, CEA, and CA153) levels and CRCI (r = −0.404, −0.205, −0.322; respectively; P < 0.001). Cognitive impairment scores (MMSE, PM, RM, and FACT-Cog) had a strong correlation with QOL in patients with early-stage BC (r = −0.786, 0.851, 0.849, and 0.938; respectively; P < 0.001).ConclusionNLR and CA153 m be valuable diagnostic adjuncts of CRCI, and CRCI has a strong correlation with QOL in patients with early-stage BC.

Background: CD4+ memory T cells (CD4+ MTCs), as an important part of the microenvironment affecting tumorigenesis and progression, have rarely been systematically analyzed. Our purpose was to comprehensively analyze the effect of CD4+ MTC infiltration on the prognosis of colon adenocarcinoma (COAD).Methods: Based on RNA-Seq data, weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) was used to screen the CD4+ MTC infiltration genes most associated with colon cancer and then identify hub genes and construct a prognostic model using the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator algorithm (LASSO). Finally, survival analysis, immune efficacy analysis, and drug sensitivity analysis were performed to evaluate the role of the prognostic model in COAD.Results: We identified 929 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) associated with CD4+ MTCs and constructed a prognosis model based on five hub genes (F2RL2, TGFB2, DTNA, S1PR5, and MPP2) to predict overall survival (OS) in COAD. Kaplan–Meier analysis showed poor prognosis in the high-risk group, and the analysis of the hub gene showed that overexpression of TGFB2, DTNA, S1PR5, or MPP2 was associated with poor prognosis. Clinical prediction nomograms combining CD4+ MTC-related DEGs and clinical features were constructed to accurately predict OS and had high clinical application value. Immune efficacy and drug sensitivity analysis provide new insights for individualized treatment.Conclusion: We constructed a prognostic risk model to predict OS in COAD and analyzed the effects of risk score on immunotherapy efficacy or drug sensitivity. These studies have important clinical significance for individualized targeted therapy and prognosis.

Porous carbon materials have demonstrated exceptional performance in various energy and environment-related applications. Recently, research on supercapacitors has been steadily increasing, and porous carbon materials have emerged as the most significant electrode material for supercapacitors. Nonetheless, the high cost and potential for environmental pollution associated with the preparation process of porous carbon materials remain significant issues. This paper presents an overview of common methods for preparing porous carbon materials, including the carbon-activation method, hard-templating method, soft-templating method, sacrificial-templating method, and self-templating method. Additionally, we also review several emerging methods for the preparation of porous carbon materials, such as copolymer pyrolysis, carbohydrate self-activation, and laser scribing. We then categorise porous carbons based on their pore sizes and the presence or absence of heteroatom doping. Finally, we provide an overview of recent applications of porous carbon materials as electrodes for supercapacitors.

Wargames are essential simulators for various war scenarios. However, the increasing pace of warfare has rendered traditional wargame decision-making methods inadequate. To address this challenge, wargame-assisted decision-making methods that leverage artificial intelligence techniques, notably reinforcement learning, have emerged as a promising solution. The current wargame environment is beset by a large decision space and sparse rewards, presenting obstacles to optimizing decision-making methods. To overcome these hurdles, a Multi-Agent Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (MADDPG) based wargame decision-making method is presented. The Partially Observable Markov Decision Process (POMDP), joint action-value function, and the Gumbel-Softmax estimator are applied to optimize MADDPG in order to adapt to the wargame environment. Furthermore, a wargame decision-making method based on the improved MADDPG algorithm is proposed. Using supervised learning in the proposed approach, the training efficiency is improved and the space for manipulation before the reinforcement learning phase is reduced. In addition, a policy gradient estimator is incorporated to reduce the action space and to obtain the global optimal solution. Furthermore, an additional reward function is designed to address the sparse reward problem. The experimental results demonstrate that our proposed wargame decision-making method outperforms the pre-optimization algorithm and other algorithms based on the AC framework in the wargame environment. Our approach offers a promising solution to the challenging problem of decision-making in wargame scenarios, particularly given the increasing speed and complexity of modern warfare.

Abstract Background Circular RNA circRHOBTB3 has been characterized as a tumor suppressor in gastric cancer, while its role in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is unknown. This study was carried out to analyze the role of circRHOBTB3 in HCC. Methods In this study, circRHOBTB3, mature miR-18a, and miR-18a precursor in HCC and paired non-cancer tissues were detected by RT-qPCR. The role of circRHOBTB3 in the production of mature miR-18a was explored by transfecting circRHOBTB3 expression vector into HCC cells, followed by RT-qPCR to determine the expression of mature miR-18a and miR-18a precursor. The role of circRHOBTB3 and miR-18a in HCC cell proliferation was studied using CCK-8 assay. Results CircRHOBTB3 was under-expressed in HCC compared to normal tissues. In HCC cells, circRHOBTB3 overexpression decreased mature miR-18a level but not miR-18a precursor. Cell proliferation analysis showed that circRHOBTB3 overexpression decreased cell proliferation while miR-18a overexpression increased cell proliferation. Moreover, circRHOBTB3 suppressed the role of miR-18a in cell proliferation. Conclusions CircRHOBTB3 is downregulated in HCC and may suppress cell proliferation by reducing miR-18a production.

Abstract Background The superior facet arthroplasty is important for intervertebral foramen microscopy. To our knowledge, there is no study about the postoperative biomechanics of adjacent L4/L5 segments after different methods of S1 superior facet arthroplasty. To evaluate the effect of S1 superior facet arthroplasty on lumbar range of motion and disc stress of adjacent segment (L4/L5) under the intervertebral foraminoplasty. Methods Eight finite element models (FEMs) of lumbosacral vertebrae (L4/S) had been established and validated. The S1 superior facet arthroplasty was simulated with different methods. Then, the models were imported into Nastran software after optimization; 500 N preload was imposed on the L4 superior endplate, and 10 N⋅m was given to simulate flexion, extension, lateral flexion and rotation. The range of motion (ROM) and intervertebral disc stress of the L4-L5 spine were recorded. Results The ROM and disc stress of L4/L5 increased with the increasing of the proportions of S1 superior facet arthroplasty. Compared with the normal model, the ROM of L4/L5 significantly increased in most directions of motion when S1 superior facet formed greater than 3/5 from the ventral to the dorsal or 2/5 from the apex to the base. The disc stress of L4/L5 significantly increased in most directions of motion when S1 superior facet formed greater than 3/5 from the ventral to the dorsal or 1/5 from the apex to the base. Conclusion In this study, the ROM and disc stress of L4/L5 were affected by the unilateral S1 superior facet arthroplasty. It is suggested that the forming range from the ventral to the dorsal should be less than 3/5 of the S1 upper facet joint. It is not recommended to form from apex to base. Level of evidence Level IV

Abstract Post-hepatectomy liver dysfunction is a life-threatening morbidity that lacks efficient therapy. Bioactive lipids involved in macrophage polarization crucially regulate tissue injury and regeneration. Herein, we investigate the key bioactive lipids that mediate the cytotherapeutic potential of polarized-macrophage for post-hepatectomy liver dysfunction. Untargeted lipidomics identified elevation of ceramide (CER) metabolites as signature lipid species relevant to M1/M2 polarization in mouse bone-marrow-derived-macrophages (BMDMs). M1 BMDMs expressed a CER-generation-metabolic pattern, leading to elevation of CER; M2 BMDMs expressed a CER-breakdown-metabolic pattern, resulting in upregulation of sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P). After infusing M1- or M2-polarized BMDMs into the mouse liver after hepatectomy, we found that M1-BMDM infusion increased M1 polarization and CER accumulation, resulting in exaggeration of hepatocyte apoptosis and liver dysfunction. Conversely, M2-BMDM infusion enhanced M2 polarization and S1P generation, leading to alleviation of liver dysfunction with improved hepatocyte proliferation. Treatment of exogenous CER and S1P or inhibition CER and S1P synthesis by siRNA targeting relevant enzymes further revealed that CER induced apoptosis while S1P promoted proliferation in post-hepatectomy primary hepatocytes. In conclusion, CER and S1P are uncovered as critical lipid mediators for M1- and M2-polarized BMDMs to promote injury and regeneration in the liver after hepatectomy, respectively. Notably, the upregulation of hepatic S1P induced by M2-BMDM infusion may have therapeutic potential for post-hepatectomy liver dysfunction.

To solve the problem of false defect detection owing to the interference of the texture attribute of ceramic tiles, a method for detecting surface defects in complex-textured ceramic tiles is proposed. Based on the visual detection principle of ceramic tile surfaces, an image acquisition system is established to obtain the ceramic tile image. After image segmentation and correction, the surface defects are preliminarily detected using a saliency detection method. Then, the image sub-block containing the defect area is cut out for secondary detection. The false defects are eliminated, and the final detection of the ceramic tile surface defects is completed using the defect determination method. The feasibility and effectiveness of the defect detection method are studied via comparative experiments. Experimental results show that the maximum accuracy rate of the proposed defect detection method is 98.75%, which satisfies the actual detection requirements and confirms the practical significance of the proposed method.

Abnormal blood pressure is common in critically ill stroke patients. However, the association between mean arterial pressure (MAP) and mortality of critically ill stroke patients remains unclear. We extracted eligible acute stroke patients from the MIMIC-III database. The patients were divided into three groups: a low MAP group (MAP ≤ 70 mmHg), a normal MAP group (70 mmHg < MAP ≤ 90 mmHg), and a high MAP group (MAP > 90 mmHg). The Cox proportional hazards model and restricted cubic splines were used to assess the association between MAP and mortality. Sensitivity analyses were conducted to investigate whether MAP had different effects on mortality in different subpopulations. A total of 2885 stroke patients were included in this study. The crude 7-day and 28-day mortality was significantly higher in the low MAP group than that in the normal MAP group. By contrast, patients in the high MAP group did not have higher crude 7-day and 28-day mortality than those in the normal MAP group. After multiple adjustments using the Cox regression model, patients with low MAP were consistently associated with higher 7-day and 28-day mortality than those with normal MAP in the following subgroups: age > 60 years, male, those with or without hypertension, those without diabetes, and those without CHD (p < 0.05), but patients with high MAP were not necessarily associated with higher 7-day and 28-day mortality after adjustments (most p > 0.05). Using the restricted cubic splines, an approximately L-shaped relationship was established between MAP and the 7-day and 28-day mortality in acute stroke patients. The findings were robust to multiple sensitivity analyses in stroke patients. In critically ill stroke patients, a low MAP significantly increased the 7-day and 28-day mortality, while a high MAP did not, suggesting that a low MAP is more harmful than a high MAP in critically ill stroke patients.

The principle of enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect has been used to design anti-cancer nanomedicines over decades. However, it is being challenged due to the poor clinical outcome of nanoparticles and controversial physiological foundation. Herein, we use a near-infrared-II (1000–1700 nm, NIR-II) fluorescence probe BPBBT to investigate the pathway for the entry of human serum albumin-bound nanoparticles (BPBBT-HSA NPs) into tumor compared with BPBBT micelles with phospholipid-poly (ethylene glycol) of the similar particle size about 110 nm. The plasma elimination half-life of BPBBT micelles was 2.8-fold of that of BPBBT-HSA NPs. However, the area under the BPBBT concentration in tumor-time curve to 48 h post-injection (AUCtumor0→48h) of BPBBT-HSA NPs was 7.2-fold of that of BPBBT micelles. The intravital NIR-II fluorescence microscopy revealed that BPBBT-HSA NPs but not BPBBT micelles were transported from the tumor vasculature into tumor parenchyma with high efficiency, and endocytosed by the tumor cells within 3 h post-injection in vivo. This effect was blocked by cross-linking BPBBT-HSA NPs to denature HSA, resulting in the AUCtumor0→48h decreased to 22% of that of BPBBT-HSA NPs. Our results demonstrated that the active process of endothelial transcytosis is the dominant pathway for albumin-bound nanoparticles’ entry into tumor.

The newly discovered early Paleozoic Delenuoer ophiolite, in the western margin of the Central Qilian Shan, is composed of serpentinized peridotite, cumulate gabbro, diabase, massive basalt, and pillow basalt. This study presents geochronological and geochemical data for the cumulate gabbro and basalt. LA–ICP–MS U–Pb dating of zircons from the cumulate gabbro yielded a magmatic crystallization age of 472 ​± ​4 ​Ma. The basalts have normal mid-ocean ridge basalt (N-MORB) compositions and a narrow range of εNd(t) values (+4.5 to ​+5.3), which indicates they were derived from a depleted mantle source. On the basis of regional geological constraints, it is proposed that the Delenuoer ophiolite is a westward extension of the South Ophiolite Belt (Yushigou–Youhulugou–Donggou–Dongcaohe Ophiolite Belt) in the North Qilian Shan. The Delenuoer ophiolite, along with the Gulangxia–Delenuoer fault, defines the westernmost part of the tectonic boundary between the North and Central Qilian Shan. This ophiolite may have formed during southward subduction of the Qilian Ocean slab during the early Paleozoic.
