Operational risk belongs to the group of relevant risks in financial institutions. It is necessary to establish a reserve capital to cover potential financial consequences that may result from the potential events that can negatively affect the operations in the organization. The complexity of the operational risk management system needs to allocate significant financial resources for its effective implementation and administration. This article presents an example of using data clustering methods in text-mining analysis of articles published in English-language articles of "Studies and Proceedings," of the Polish Association for Knowledge Management. Tex-tmining is a method of data acquisition by different text tools analysis. Its processing of text gives an effect of creating new knowledge. The paper presents the interpretations of the application of clustering in the process of extracting knowledge by analyzing the similarity of the contents in the extracted text information structures - such as articles. This analysis creates an attitude of making a series of simulations to measure the effects of changes in the number of isolated clusters for changing the deployment of homogeneous groups.
