The article discusses the movement to replace animal models in scientific research with alternative methods that better mimic human biology. Animal-based studies have limitations and a high failure rate in human clinical trials. Researchers are exploring alternative methods such as machine-learning tools and living "organs-on-a-chip" that have shown to provide more accurate results. Some countries and states are phasing out animal testing and investing in nonanimal alternatives. Emulate specializes in organ chips, which have shown promising results in identifying hepatotoxic drugs. While the use of alternative methods is growing, there are still challenges in terms of regulatory guidelines and acceptance in the scientific community. [Extracted from the article]
