One of the main components of innate defense against invasive parasites is oxidative stress, which is brought on by reactive oxygen species (ROS). On the other hand, oxidative stressors serve two purposes: free radicals aid in the elimination of pathogens, but they can also set off inflammation, which leads to tissue damage. Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) is a transcription factor that controls the expression of numerous genes involved in the body's defense against oxidative stress brought on by aging, inflammation, tissue damage, and other pathological consequences. From cutaneous to visceral forms, Leishmania parasites invade macrophages and cause a wide range of human pathologies. Leishmania parasites have a wide range of adaptive mechanisms that disrupt several macrophage functions by altering host signaling pathways. An increasing amount of data are corroborating the idea that one of the primary antioxidant routes to counteract this oxidative burst against parasites is NRF2 signaling, which also interferes with immune responses. The nature and potency of the host immune response, as well as interactions between the invading Leishmania spp., will ascertain the course of infection and the parasites' eventual survival or eradication. The molecular processes via which Nrf2 coordinates such intricate networks comprising various pathways remain to be completely understood. In light of NRF2's significant contribution to oxidative stress, we examine the NRF2 antioxidant pathway's activation mechanism in Leishmania infection in this review. Experience-based knowledge has shown that bacteria can communicate with each other through a cell-density-dependent mechanism called quorum sensing (QS). QS controls specific bacterial phenotypes, such as sporulation, virulence and pathogenesis, the production of degrading enzymes, bioluminescence, swarming motility, and biofilm formation. The expression of these phenotypes in food spoiling and pathogenic bacteria, which may occur in food, can have dramatic consequences on food production, the economy, and health. Due to the many reports showing that the use of conventional methods (i.e., antibiotics and sanitizers) to inhibit bacterial growth leads to the emergence of antibiotic resistance, it is necessary to research and exploit new strategies. Several studies have already demonstrated positive results in this direction by inhibiting autoinducers (low-molecular-weight signaling compounds controlling QS) and by other means, leading to QS inhibition via a mechanism called quorum quenching (QQ). Thus far, several QS inhibitors (QSIs) have been isolated from various sources, such as plants, some animals from aqueous ecosystems, fungi, and bacteria. The present study aims to discuss the involvement of QS in food spoilage and to review the potential role of probiotics as QSIs.

The development of new drugs derived from plant sources is of significant interest in modern pharmacy. One of the promising plant sources for introduction into pharmaceuticals is Tripleurospermum inodorum (L.) Sch. Bip., also known as Tripleurospermum perforatum (Merat.) M. This plant has been shown to possess various biological activities, including anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antimycotic activities, among others. However, a review of the current literature reveals a paucity of studies investigating the chemical composition of the herb Tripleurospermum inodorum (L.) Sch. Bip. This study presents the development of a method for obtaining an extract of the herb Tripleurospermum inodorum (L.) Sch. Bip. enriched with flavonoids, harvested before flowering and butonization. This study focused on determining the optimal conditions for extraction, including the concentration of the extractant (ethanol), extraction time, raw material/extractant ratio, extraction frequency, complexation reaction time, amount of aluminum chloride solution, and amount of diluted acetic acid. The results indicate that herbs harvested during this specific period exhibited a higher flavonoid content compared to those collected during butonization and flowering. Moreover, this study demonstrated that the flavonoid content could exceed 7% mg REq/100 g D.W. through a one-hour extraction process. Furthermore, the flavonoid content was found to be 7.65 ± 0.03 mg REq/100 g D.W. following a three-minute ultrasound-assisted extraction process, followed by thermal extraction. A qualitative analysis identified a variety of phenolic compounds in the extract, such as chlorogenic acid, 5-O-p-coumaroylquinic acid, 1-O-p-coumaroylquinic acid, luteolin-7-glucoside, quercetin-3-glucoside, luteolin-7-rutinoside, 3,5-O-dicaffeoylquinic acid, quercetin-3-O-malonylglucoside, apigenin-7-glucoside, luteolin-3-malonylglucoside, cynarin, rhamnetin-3-(O-dimethyl rhamnosyl glucosylglucoside), and luteolin. Moreover, this study demonstrated the antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anticoagulant, anti-aggregation, and antioxidant activities of the aqueous alcoholic extract from T. inodorum herb (ETIH) against pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Candida albicans. Additionally, the extract exhibited comparable anti-inflammatory effects on diclofenac sodium. Wetlands are dynamic ecosystems that provide feeding and nesting grounds for diverse species of waterbirds. The quality of wetland habitat may have an impact on the density, diversity, and species richness of waterbirds. Toxic metal contamination is one of the most significant threats to wetland habitats. Feathers are a key indicator of heavy metal contamination in avian communities as a non-invasive method. We examined the levels of Arsenic (As), Cadmium (Cd), Cobalt (Co), Chromium (Cr), Copper (Cu), Lead (Pb), Nickel (Ni), and Zinc (Zn) using ICP-AAS and standards of digestion procedure from the primary feathers of 10 distinct species of waterbirds. The study was conducted at four wetlands, viz., Point Calimere Wildlife Sanctuary (Ramsar site); Pallikaranai Marshland (Ramsar site); Perunthottam freshwater lake (unprotected wetland), Tamil Nadu and the Pulicat Lake, Andhra Pradesh, (Ramsar site), India. The Large crested tern had higher concentrations of As, Co, Cr, and Ni. Cu was greater in the Indian pond heron, and Zn was higher in the Grey heron. The accumulation of metals differed among the waterbirds (p < 0.05), and the inter-correlation of metals found positive influences between the tested metals, i.e., Co was positively associated with As, Cr had a positive correlation with As and Co, and Ni was positively correlated with As, Co, Cr, and Cu. In contrast, Pb had a positive association with Cu and Ni. The Zn was associated with Co, Cr and Cu. The level of metals in waterbirds was Zn > Cu > Cr > Ni > Pb > Co > Cd > As. The results showed that metal levels in the primary feathers of waterbirds were greater than the other species of waterbirds examined across the world. Thus, the study emphasizes that managing wetlands and controlling pollution is crucial to saving waterbirds; otherwise, the population and diversity of waterbirds will decline and become a significant threat to waterbird communities. In this study, the data of the antagonistic action of the enzyme L-lysine-α-oxidase in relation to clinical isolates of multiresistant uropathogenic Escherichia coli isolated from patients aged 2 to 17 years of various genders with an established diagnosis of infectious urethritis and/or cystitis are presented. According to the results obtained, the top priority drugs for the treatment of infectious urethritis and/or cystitis are FO (Fosfomycin, 200 µg/disc), IMP (Imipenem, 10 mg/disc), and CIP (Ciprofloxacin, 30 µg/disc). It was found that out of 70 clinical isolates, only 36 of them formed biofilms using the plate method, which is equal to 51.4% of the total number of isolates studied. Despite polyresistance, clinical isolates of E. coli have moderate sensitivity to both the homogeneous enzyme and the culture fluid of the producer. The introduction of an enzyme or culture liquid at an early stage of strain cultivation significantly inhibits the formation of biofilms (91–100%). The increased prevalence of disease, mortality, and antibiotic resistance among aquatic microorganisms has renewed interest in non-conventional disease prevention and control approaches. Nanoparticles present several benefits in aquaculture and hold significant potential for controlling both human and animal infections. This study reports on the antibacterial properties of green copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO NPs) synthesized from the urine of Mithun (MU) (Bos frontalis). In addition, an array of analytical techniques, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-visible spectroscopy (UV), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), were employed to investigate the synthesized MU-CuO nanoparticles. Aeromonas hydrophila and Aeromonas veronii, two bacterial fish pathogens known to cause severe infectious diseases in fish, were tested for their antibacterial efficacy against MU-CuO NPs. At 100 µg/mL, MU-CuO NPs exhibit enhanced antibacterial efficacy against two bacterial pathogens commonly found in fish. Background and Aim: With the development of industrial maintenance technology, a group of pathogens called avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) became very common. The initiation, development, and outcome of the infectious process mediated by virulent APEC strains occur through a decrease in the colonization resistance of the intestine, an immunobiological marker of homeostasis stability in susceptible species. This study focused on the pathogenetic features of colibacillosis and the morphological features of E. coli. Materials and Methods: Clinical, immunological, bacteriological, and histological studies were conducted on 15-dayold white Leghorn birds (n = 20). The birds were divided into two groups: Control group (Group I; n = 10) with birds intranasally inoculated with 0.5 mL of 0.9% NaCl solution and experimental group (Group II; n = 10) with birds intranasally inoculated with 0.5 mL of an E. coli suspension at 1 billion/mL. Results: During the biofilm formation, clusters of microcolonies were formed as a gel-like intercellular matrix that accumulated due to cell coagulation. The intercellular matrix "glues" heteromorphic cells together and forms a structure of densely packed heteromorphic cells arranged in an orderly manner and growing in different directions. During the experimental reproduction of E. coli, excessive growth was observed in material isolated from poultry. Pathogenic E. coli strains implementing virulence factors adhered to the receptors of erythrocytes, alveolocytes, and enterocytes. Multicellular heterogeneous biofilms, united by an intercellular matrix, were located at the apical poles of the respiratory tract alveolocytes and enterocytes of the terminal ileum villi. Many bacteria exudate containing desquamated epithelial cells with an admixture of mucus, and polymorphonuclear leukocytes were detected in the lumen of the birds' abdominal organs. Invasive bacteria damaged the epithelial layer, violated the endothelial layer of blood vessels, and developed inflammatory hyperemia of the lamina propria of the respiratory and digestive systems' mucous membrane. A correlative dependence of changes developed by the type of delayed hypersensitivity reaction was established. Signs of accidental transformation of the thymus, atrophy of the bursa of Fabricius, disseminated thrombosis, and septic spleen developed. Moreover, toxic cardiomyocyte dystrophy, signs of congestive vascular hyperemia, massive disintegration of lymphocytes, macrophage reactions, perivascular edema resulting from the release of plasma, and shaped blood elements were detected. Conclusion: The development and outcome of the infectious process in escherichiosis primarily depend on the homeostasis stability of susceptible species and virulence factors of the pathogenic microorganisms. One of the selected strains, E. coli O78:K80 displayed the highest ability to form biofilms. Its strong adhesion ability to bird erythrocytes was demonstrated. Deepening the scientific knowledge of the interaction between eukaryotes and prokaryotes will contribute to a better understanding of the pathogenetic aspects of avian escherichiosis and eventually find promising anti-adhesive drugs that could reduce primary bacterial contamination in vivo and in vitro. Green methods of synthesizing nanoparticles are safer than chemical and physical methods, as well as being eco-friendly and cost-efficient. In this study, we use copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO NPs) fabricated with Sesbania grandiflora (Sg) (Hummingbird tree) leaves to test the effectiveness of green synthesizing methods. The attained Sg-CuO NPs physical and optical nature is characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy Differential Reflectance Spectroscopy (UV-Vis DRS), Fourier Transform Infra-Red spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray Diffraction spectroscopy (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and Energy Dispersive X-ray Analysis (EDAX). UV-Vis spectrum for Sg-CuO NPs revealed a peak at 410 nm. SEM images showed the aggregation of needle-shaped particles, at a size of 33 nm. The amylase and glucosidase enzymes were inhibited by the Sg-CuO NPs up to 76.7% and 72.1%, respectively, indicating a possible antihyperglycemic effect. Fabricated Sg-CuO NPs disclosed the excellent inhibition of DPPH-free radicle formation (89.7%) and repressed protein degradation (81.3%). The results showed that Sg-CuO NPs display good anti-bacterial activity against the gram-negative (Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus). Cytotoxicity of the Sg-CuO NPs was determined using anIC50 of 37 μg/mL. Sg-CuO NPs have shown promising anti-diabetic, anti-oxidant, protein degradation-inhibiting, and anti-microbial properties. The pharmacological activity of Hypericum (Hypericum Perforatum L.) in the complex treatment of purulent wounds in cattle is due to its pronounced antimicrobial properties, which are associated with the content of a number of biologically active substances, such as phenolcarboxylic acids and flavonoids, as well as phloroglucinols and naphthodiantrons. Created by us a phytosorbent of Hypericum by immobilizing an extract of the herb Hypericum (Hyperici perforati herbae extract) on silicon dioxide (SiO2), and also the study was conducted its effectiveness in the complex treatment of accidental purulent musculocutaneous wounds in cattle. It is shown that the use of Hypericum phytosorbent for medicinal purposes in case of accidental purulent wounds in cattle allows you to reduce the healing time of wounds by 1.1 times (p<0.01) faster than in the control group of animals. This is confirmed by the fact that in animals of the experimental group, complete wound cleansing occurred 1.8 days earlier (p<0.001) than in animals of the control group. It should be noted that granulations in the wounds of animals of the experimental group appeared 1.5 days earlier (p<0.01) than in the control group. Therefore, active epithelization of wounds in animals of the experimental group began 2.2 days earlier (p<0.001) than in the control group. The high therapeutic effect of the schemes that which used in animals of the experimental group is due to the usage of Hypericum holed phytosorbent in the first phase of the wound process, which contributed to the rapid cleaning of wounds and the transition of the wound process to the stage of regeneration, which ultimately led to rapid wound healing. Research has been conducted on farms in the Moscow region to identify the most common bacterial and fungal pathogens that can form biofilms. The following isolates were isolated from numerous members of the genus Candida: C. albicans, C. tropicalis, C. parapsilosis and C. glabrata. The etiological structure of bacterial infections in farm animals is represented by 29 species. The use of Farnesol 200 µm caused a decrease in the optical density of YLF biofilms from 54 to 69 % and a violation of mycelial growth. Farnesol 200 µm inhibited biofilm formation in strong bacterial producers by 61-75 %. Phytopreparation Farnesol can be used as an antibacterial and antimycotic drug both by itself and in combination with other antimicrobial agents. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article presents data of detailed biocoenotic diagnostics in 12 farms of the Moscow region affected by obstetric-gynecologic diseases of cows (endometritises, and mastitises), as well as gastrointestinal and respiratory diseases of newborn calves with the aim of identifying zoo-hygienic, zootechnical and veterinary deficiencies to optimize a combat strategy against factor infections. To this end, periodic visits were made to farms for epizootological examinations of farm biogeocenoses and the selection of blood serums, heparin-stabilized blood and samples of pathological material for bacteriological, mycological, virological, hematological and immunological studies. An analysis of the epidemiological situation for cattle diseases caused by conditionally pathogenic bacteria shows that in farms of the Moscow region, where factor infections are unfavorable, there are conditions for the circulation of pathogens, multiple passage through susceptible animals, increased virulence of conditionally pathogenic microorganisms, and in some cases, the emergence of pathogenicity in saprophytic bacteria. It is shown that the main factors contributing to the development and dissemination of these pathologies are the unsatisfactory food basis of farms, violations of elementary veterinary and sanitary rules for keeping and milking, failure to fully implement measures to prevent these diseases due to the lack of sufficient material resources in the farms. All the above demonstrates that experienced farms are lacking adequate conditions to ensure the epidemiological chain in the infectious process. Effective control of malignant microbial ecosystems require in-depth knowledge of the quantitative and species composition of parasitocenoses, the study of relationships between its individual representatives, required isolation of pure cultures of all his affiliates, the determination of marker biological properties of microbial agents, and the conduct of a detailed biocenotic diagnosis of the animal habitat (farming, barn, etc.). Relevance: Congestive heart failure in dogs is an urgent problem for Doctor of Modern Veterinary cardiology. Endocardiosis, or myxomatous mitral valve degeneration, is the most common acquired heart disease of dogs that has a potential adverse outcome. Accurate and timely diagnosis for this cardiopathology in dogs, and also effective monitoring of the progression of congestive heart failure syndrome are the most important problems of veterinary medicine. Purpose of research: To study the commitment of owners whose dogs with mitral valve endocardiosis to assess the respiratory rate of their pets during sleep and its impact on the survival of sick animals. Materials and methods. A prospective study of the survival rate of 181 dogs with mitral valve endocardiosis, complicated by congestive heart failure syndrome. Results: It was found that the degree of owners' commitment to assess the respiratory rate during sleep has a significant impact on the survival of dogs with mitral valve endocardiosis. The median life expectancy of sick dogs whose owners had a high commitment to monitoring respiratory function was significantly high. The survival time of sick dogs whose owners showed high adherence to the test was on average 604.8±53.1 days (variation from 0 to 1378; median – 452 days). In sick animals whose owners showed low adherence to assess the respiratory rate, the life expectancy was significantly low and averaged 279.9±28.9 days (variation from 0 to 1156; median – 122 days). In the Mann-Whitney test, this difference was found to be significant (p<0.0001). When evaluating the survival curves of dogs with endocardiosis complicated by congestive heart failure, and with different owners' commitment to assess the respiratory rate during sleep, according to the Kaplan-Meyer method using the Gehan criterion, a highly reliable difference was found (p<0.0001). According to the results of multiple analysis of proportional Cox intensities, three independent predictors of fatal mitral valve endocardiosis in dogs complicated by congestive heart failure syndrome were identified: low adherence of dog owners to assess the respiratory rate during sleep; the presence of a decrease in the shortening fraction below 35%; an increase in the rate of tricuspid insufficiency above 4 m/s. Conclusion: The low degree of adherence of owners of sick dogs to assess the respiratory rate during sleep is the most powerful independent predictor of the fatal outcome of congestive heart failure in mitral valve endocardiosis. The wide range of therapeutic effects of silicon dioxide (reduction of endogenous intoxication, normalization of intestinal microbiocenosis, reduction of systemic inflammatory response, activation of detoxification function) makes its use as a matrix in the production of pharmacological drugs for the treatment and prevention of surgical infection by giving an interesting direction for scientific research. The article provides experimental and clinical justification for the use of complex probiotic-sorption drugs in veterinary surgery in the treatment of various forms of surgical infection. Based on the results of the conducted research, the solution of an urgent scientific problem about the mechanisms of formation of microbiocenoses, improvement of methods of diagnosis, prevention and treatment of cats with surgical infections have been achieved. It is established that purulent-inflammatory processes in cats develop against the background of dysbiotic disorders of the microbial ecosystem of the intestinal tract, which has a certain prognostic value. Among many veterinary science problems in the field of industrial pig breeding, the high incidence of uterine pig population with postpartum diseases is the main problem. The main causes are: increased microbial contamination of both habitat and birth canal, immunodeficiency caused by the impact on the body of the widespread use of chemotherapy and other xenobiotics, stresses of various etiologies. This work conducted to determine the effect of α - and γ - interferons of pork recombinant- the main active ingredients of the drug Biferon-C, selenium-containing drug Selecore and tissue preparation Aminoceletone, on the microbiocenosis of the reproductive tract, immunobiochemical, oxidative-antioxidant status, nitric oxide levels and the reproductive system of sows. The experiments were carried out in the conditions of the pig breeding enterprise of the Voronezh region on 56 crossbred sows of large white and Landrace breeds, which were taken in the experiment on the 103-105 day of gestation and divided into four groups. Sows of the first group (n= 13) 8-10 days before farrowing were parenterally injected with α - and γ - recombinant pork interferons, the second (n= 15) - α - and γ - interferons in combination with Aminoceletone, the third (n= 14) - α - and γ - interferons in combination with Selector, the fourth (n= 14) - drugs were not prescribed (control). At the beginning of the experiment (before the use of drugs) and on the third or fourth day after farrowing, blood samples were taken from five sows of each group. At the same time and before weaning pigs were sampled cervical mucus to determine the qualitative and quantitative composition of the microbiota. We took into account the onset of farrowing, the nature of the birth course and the postpartum period, the degree of development and safety of pigs, the presence of sows inflammatory processes in the genital organs, fertilization. It was found that the appointment of sows' drugs reduces the pressure of opportunistic and pathogenic microflora, stabilizes the normoflora of the genital tract, increases the immune status, reduces the formation of Malon dialdehyde in the body of animals and manifestations of endogenous intoxication, activation of antioxidant protection, optimization of NOx synthesis, resulting in a decrease in their incidence of postpartum diseases in 1,4-3,2 times, increased weight of pigs at weaning by 4,3-7,9%, increased their safety by 4,5-10,3%, reduced the onset of the sexual cycle by 0,5-1,3 days, the manifestation of a latent endometritis 1,4-3,2 fold increased fertility 9,4-1 1,1%. The objects of study were microorganisms, isolated from pathological material of chicken breeds "RoSS 208" and "Luong Phuong"; ducklings breeds "C. V. super M" and a "Khaki Campbell"; quails breed "Coturnix". In 499 samples of the birds material we discovered 153 microorganisms cultures of the genus Salmonella, which were 30.66 % of the total number of selected microorganisms cultures, including S. typhimurium – 60 (39.22 %) strains; S. albany – 32 (of 20.92 %); S. enteritidis – 20 (13.07 %); S. hadar – 9 (5.88%); S. agona and S. thompson – 5 (3.27 %); S. indiana – 4 (2.61 %); S. heidelberg, S. mbandaka and S. shalkwijk – 3 (1.96 %); S. give – 2 (1.31 %); S. derby and S. havana – 1 (0.65 %); other serovar – 5 (3.27 %). It was found that 70.0 % of the studied strains were sensitive to drugs of the fluoroquinolone group (nalidixic acid, norfloxacin, ciprofloxacin, enrofloxacin), 66.67 % – cephalosporins (ceftazidim). 83.33 % of strains were resistant to tetracycline drugs (tetracycline); 63.33 % - β- lactams (ampicillin); 56.67 % - aminoglycosides (gentamicin, kanamycin, streptomycin); 46.67 % - sulfonamides (trimethoprim). The minimum inhibitory concentration ("MIC") were established at the intersection of the growth suppression zone and the test strip "E-test": ampicillin-512 μg/ml; tetracycline – 64 μg/ml; gentamicin – 2 μg/ml; ciprofloxacin – 1 μg/ml; norfloxacin – 0.38 μg/ml and ceftazidim – 0.19 μg/ml. The use of sorbents as application materials in the treatment of wounds and purulent lesions of soft tissues has been known since ancient times. The essence of application sorption is the separation of toxic metabolites, microbial cells and bacterial toxins from wounds and purulent cavities with direct contact of the sorbent with their surface. The immobilization of various pharmaceuticals on the sorbent allows you to get effective antimicrobial drugs that have simultaneously a wide range of actions. These properties are realized as the immobilized substances that released on it. We chose silicon dioxide (SiO2) as the matrix when creating the Hypericum Perforatum holed phytosorbent. When introducing the phytosorbent Hypericum Perforatum into the wound, silicon dioxide maintains the concentration of the phytopreparation at a therapeutic level for a long time. Phytosorbent of Hypericum Perforatum combines the sorption properties of the sorbent with the antimicrobial and antioxidant properties of Hypericum Perforatum. The article studies the antimicrobial activity of Hypericum's Perforatum phytosorbent in relation to the main pathogens of purulent wounds in cows by the method of consecutive two-time serial breeding. It is established that the phytosorbent of Hypericum Perforatum has a pronounced antimicrobial effect against conditionally pathogenic bacteria, pathogens of purulent processes in cattle. So, the drug at concentrations of 3.9 mg / ml and higher inhibited growth of 100.0% of S. aureus cultures, at a concentration of 7.8 mg / ml and higher - 100.0% of S. intermedius isolates. It should be noted that the phytosorbent of Hypericum Perforatum was also found active against S. epidermidis, S. pyogenes, S. uberis and S. faecalis (it suppresses the growth of bacteria of these species in concentrations of 3.9; 15.6; 31.3 and 15.6 mg/ml, respectively). The drug had slightly less antimicrobial activity against gram-negative flora of E. coli (in concentrations = 62.5 mg / ml), P. aeruginosa (= 125 mg/ml), P. vulgaris (= 62.5 mg/ml), P. mirabilis (= 31.3 mg/ml) and C. albicans (= 62.5 mg/ml).
