For example, a new class of two- or three-dimensional vector soliton can be stabilized and observed in an SO-coupled BEC, whereas such a soliton is unstable in a scalar BEC. In this paper, we present a review on solitons in an SO-coupled spin-1 spinor BEC in one, two, and three space dimensions. In addition to the static properties of these solitons, we also consider their dynamics of motion with a constant velocity and collision between two solitons. No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2022-03-01 Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq) The possibility of generating stable anisotropic solitons in dipolar Bose–Einstein condensates (BECs) leads to a different scenario not possible in a nondipolar BEC with contact interaction. We study the statics and dynamics of anisotropic bright solitons in quasi-two-dimensional BECs consisting of polarized dipolar atoms. We study the collision dynamics of two such solitons at different velocities for different angles between the polarization and collision directions. The collision is found to be quasi elastic at large velocities. At small velocities the collision is inelastic leading to the formation of a coalesced soliton in an excited scissors mode, monopole mode or quadrupole mode. Also, at small velocities, after collision, a large change of direction of motion of the solitons is possible. The investigation is performed through a numerical solution of the underlying mean-field Gross–Pitaevskii equation. Background: Understanding of ‘Equality, Justice and Equity’ at the beginning of medical education will have a great bearing in future career. Objectives: To assess understanding of ‘Equality, Justice and Equity’ among the first year undergraduate students of BPKIHS who were in the beginning of health science/ medical education Methods: This is an academic institute based study carried out among the first year undergraduate students (BSc.- Nursing, BSc.- Allied, BDS and MBBS) of BPKIHS, based on convenient sampling. This included the responses of 181 subjects giving written informed consent. The ‘semi-structured proforma’ and the pretested ‘Bioethics Awareness, Knowledge and Attitude’ questionnaire were used to collect the responses. Results: We had 55% female subjects, more from urban settings (65%). Many students were aware about Bioethics and willing to be a part of Bioethics group. Half of the participants felt the need to discuss their patients’ information with their colleagues. More of them (38%) were not sure not about charging more for service on the rich to compensate for the poor while one fifth (22%) favored and one fifth (20%) disagreed. Most of the participants believed that patient’s wishes should always be adhered to. A few respondent students (4%) also believed that doctors and nurses should refuse to treat violent patients. Majority of the participants had heard of taking informed consent and agreed unentertaining patient’s questions during their posting. Conclusion: There should be various modes of enhancing the teaching learning opportunities for the medical students to learn about ethics and ethical principles including ‘Equality, Justice and Equity ‘and to enhance their positive view.

We demonstrate the formation of stable spatially-ordered states in a {\it uniform} and also {\it trapped} quasi-two-dimensional (quasi-2D) Rashba or Dresselhaus spin-orbit (SO) coupled pseudo spin-1/2 Bose-Einstein condensate using the mean-field Gross-Pitaevskii equation. For weak SO coupling, one can have a circularly-symmetric $(0,+1)$- or $(0,-1)$-type multi-ring state with intrinsic vorticity, for Rashba or Dresselhaus SO coupling, respectively, where the numbers in the parentheses denote the net angular momentum projection in the two components, in addition to a circularly-asymmetric degenerate state with zero net angular momentum projection. For intermediate SO couplings, in addition to the above two types, one can also have states with stripe pattern in component densities with no periodic modulation in total density. The stripe state continues to exist for large SO coupling. In addition, a new spatially-periodic state appears in the uniform system: a superlattice state, possessing some properties of a supersolid, with a square-lattice pattern in component densities and also in total density. In a trapped system the superlattice state is slightly different with multi-ring pattern in component density and a square-lattice pattern in total density. For an equal mixture of Rashba and Dresselhaus SO couplings, in both uniform and trapped systems, only stripe states are found for all strengths of SO couplings. No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2021-08-01 We study the formation of spin-1 symbiotic spinor solitons in a quasi-one- (quasi-1D) and quasi-two-dimensional (quasi-2D) hyperfine spin F=1 ferromagnetic Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC). The symbiotic solitons necessarily have a repulsive intraspecies interaction and are bound due to an attractive interspecies interaction. Due to a collapse instability in higher dimensions, an additional spin-orbit coupling is necessary to stabilize a quasi-2D symbiotic spinor soliton. Although a quasi-1D symbiotic soliton has a simple Gaussian-type density distribution, novel spatial periodic structure in density is found in quasi-2D symbiotic SO-coupled spinor solitons. For a weak SO coupling, the quasi-2D solitons are of the (-1,0,+1) or (+1,0,-1) type with intrinsic vorticity and multiring structure, for Rashba or Dresselhaus SO coupling, respectively, where the numbers in the parentheses are angular momenta projections in spin components Fz=+1,0,-1, respectively. For a strong SO coupling, stripe and superlattice solitons, respectively, with a stripe and square-lattice modulation in density, are found in addition to the multiring solitons. The stationary states were obtained by imaginary-time propagation of a mean-field model; dynamical stability of the solitons was established by real-time propagation over a long period of time. The possibility of the creation of such a soliton by removing the trap of a confined spin-1 BEC in a laboratory is also demonstrated. For small strengths of SO coupling γ (γ ≲ 0.75), in the ferromagnetic phase, circularly-symmetric (0, ±1, ±2)- and (∓1, 0, ±1)-type states are formed where the numbers in the parentheses denote the angular momentum of the vortex at the center of the components and where the upper (lower) sign correspond to Rashba (Dresselhaus) coupling; in the antiferromagnetic phase, only (∓1, 0, ±1)-type states are formed. For large strengths of SO coupling, supersolid-like superlattice and superstripe states are formed in the ferromagnetic phase. In the antiferromagnetic phase, for large strengths of SO coupling, supersolid-like superstripe and multi-ring states are formed. For an equal mixture of Rashba and Dresselhaus SO couplings, only a superstripe state is found. All these states are found to be dynamically stable and hence accessible in an experiment and will enhance the fundamental understanding of crystallization onto radially periodic states in solids. We present OpenMP versions of FORTRAN programs for solving the Gross-Pitaevskii equation for a harmonically trapped three-component spin-1 spinor Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) in one (1D) and two (2D) spatial dimensions with or without spin-orbit (SO) and Rabi couplings. Several different forms of SO coupling are included in the programs. We use the split-step Crank-Nicolson discretization for imaginary- and real-time propagation to calculate stationary states and BEC dynamics, respectively. The imaginary-time propagation programs calculate the lowest-energy stationary state. The real-time propagation programs can be used to study the dynamics. The simulation input parameters are provided at the beginning of each program. The programs propagate the condensate wave function and calculate several relevant physical quantities. Outputs of the programs include the wave function, energy, root-mean-square sizes, different density profiles (linear density for the 1D program, linear and surface densities for the 2D program). The imaginary- or real-time propagation can start with an analytic wave function or a pre-calculated numerical wave function. We study spontaneous-symmetry-breaking circularly-asymmetric phase separation of vortex lattices in a rapidly rotating harmonically-trapped quasi-two-dimensional (quasi-2D) binary Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) with repulsive inter- and intra-species interactions. The phase separated vortex lattices of the components appear in different regions of space with no overlap between the vortices of the two components, which will permit an efficient experimental observation of such vortices and accurate study of the effect of atomic interaction on such vortex lattice. Such phase separation takes place when the intra-species interaction energies of the two components are equal or nearly equal with relatively strong inter-species repulsion. When the intra-species energies are equal, the two phase-separated vortex lattices have identical semicircular shapes with one being the parity conjugate of the other. When the intra-species energies are nearly equal, the phase separation is also complete but the vortex lattices have different shapes. We demonstrate the formation of multi-peak three-component stationary stripe vector solitons in a quasi-one-dimensional spin-orbit-coupled hyper-fine spin $F = 1$ polar Bose-Einstein condensate. The present investigation is carried out through a numerical solution by imaginary-time propagation and an analytic variational approximation of the underlying mean-field Gross-Pitaevskii equation. Simple analytic results for energy and component densities were found to be in excellent agreement with the numerical results for solitons with more than 100 pronounced maxima and minima. The vector solitons are one of the two types: dark-bright-dark or bright-dark-bright. In the former a maximum density in component $ F_z = 0 $ at the center is accompanied by a zero in components $F_z = \pm 1$. The opposite happens in the latter case. The vector solitons are demonstrated to be mobile and dynamically stable. The collision between two such vector solitons is found to be quasi elastic at large velocities with the conservation of total density of each vector soliton. However, at very small velocity, the collision is inelastic with a destruction of the initial vector solitons. No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2019-12-06 We study the phase separation in three-component bright vector solitons in a quasi-one-dimensional spin-orbit-coupled hyperfine spin F=1 ferromagnetic Bose-Einstein condensate upon an increase of the strength of spin-orbit (SO) coupling pxςz above a critical value, where px is the linear momentum and ςz is the z component of the spin-1 matrix. The bright vector solitons are demonstrated to be mobile and dynamically stable. The collision between two such vector solitons is found to be elastic at all velocities with the conservation of density of each vector soliton. The two colliding vector solitons repel at small separation and at very small colliding velocity, they come close and bounce back with the same velocity without ever encountering each other. This repulsion produced by SO coupling is responsible for the phase separation in a vector soliton for large strengths of SO coupling. The collision dynamics is found to be completely insensitive to the relative phase of the colliding solitons. However, in the absence of SO coupling, at very small velocity, the two colliding vector solitons attract each other and form a vector soliton molecule and the collision dynamics is sensitive to the relative phase as in scalar solitons. We study spontaneous-symmetry-broken phase-separated vortex lattice in a weakly interacting uniform rapidly rotating binary Bose superfluid contained in a quasi-two-dimensional circular or square bucket. For the inter-species repulsion above a critical value, the two superfluid components separate and form a demixed phase with practically no overlap in the vortex lattices of the two components, which will permit an efficient experimental observation of such vortices and study their properties. In case of a circular bucket with equal intra-species energies of the two components, the two components separate into two non-overlapping semicircular domains for all frequencies of rotation $\Omega$ generating distinct demixed vortex lattices. In case of a binary Bose superfluid in both circular and square buckets, (a) the number of vortices increases linearly with $\Omega$ in agreement with a suggestion by Feynman, and (b) the rotational energy in the rotating frame decreases quadratically with $\Omega$ in agreement with a suggestion by Fetter., Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1908.07848

We present OpenMP versions of C and Fortran programs for solving the Gross-Pitaevskii equation for a rotating trapped Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) in two (2D) and three (3D) spatial dimensions. The programs can be used to generate vortex lattices and study dynamics of rotating BECs. We use the split-step Crank-Nicolson algorithm for imaginary- and real-time propagation to calculate stationary states and BEC dynamics, respectively. The programs propagate the condensate wave function and calculate several relevant physical quantities, such as the energy, the chemical potential, and the root-mean-square sizes. The imaginary-time propagation starts with an analytic wave function with one vortex at the trap center, modulated by a random phase at different space points. Nevertheless, the converged wave function for a rapidly rotating BEC with a large number of vortices is most efficiently calculated using the pre-calculated converged wave function of a rotating BEC containing a smaller number of vortices as the initial state rather than using an analytic wave function with one vortex as the initial state. These pre-calculated initial states exhibit rapid convergence for fast-rotating condensates to states containing multiple vortices with an appropriate phase structure. This is illustrated here by calculating vortex lattices with up to 61 vortices in 2D and 3D. Outputs of the programs include calculated physical quantities, as well as the wave function and different density profiles (full density, integrated densities in lower dimensions, and density cross-sections). The provided real-time propagation programs can be used to study the dynamics of a rotating BEC using the imaginary-time stationary wave function as the initial state. No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2020-11-06 We study the vortex-lattice formation in a rotating Rashba spin-orbit (SO) coupled quasi-two-dimensional (quasi-2D) hyper-fine spin-1 spinor Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) in the x-y plane using a numerical solution of the underlying mean-field Gross-Pitaevskii equation. In this case, the non-rotating Rashba SO-coupled spinor BEC can have topological excitation in the form of vortices of different angular momenta in the three components, e.g. the (0, +1, +2)- and (-1, 0, +1)-type states in ferromagnetic and anti-ferromagnetic spinor BEC: the numbers in the parenthesis denote the intrinsic angular momentum of the vortex states of the three components with the negative sign denoting an anti-vortex. The presence of these states with intrinsic vorticity breaks the symmetry between rotation with vorticity along the z and -z axes and thus generates a rich variety of vortex-lattice and anti-vortex-lattice states in a rotating quasi-2D spin-1 spinor ferromagnetic and anti-ferromagnetic BEC, not possible in a scalar BEC. For weak SO coupling, we find two types of symmetries of these states - hexagonal and 'square'. The hexagonal (square) symmetry state has vortices arranged in closed concentric orbits with a maximum of 6, 12, 18⋯ (8, 12, 16⋯) vortices in successive orbits. Of these two symmetries, the square vortex-lattice state is found to have the smaller energy. No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2019-01-01 We study numerically the vortex-lattice formation in a rapidly rotating uniform quasi-twodimensional Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) in a box trap. We consider two types of boxes: square and circle. In a square-shaped 2D box trap, when the number of generated vortices is the square of an integer, the vortices are found to be arranged in a perfect square lattice, although deviations near the center are found when the number of generated vortices is arbitrary. In case of a circular box trap, the generated vortices in the rapidly rotating BEC lie on concentric closed orbits. Near the center, these orbits have the shape of polygons, whereas near the periphery the orbits are circles. The circular box trap is equivalent to the rotating cylindrical bucket used in early experiment(s) with liquid He II. The number of generated vortices in both cases is in qualitative agreement with Feynman's universal estimate. The numerical simulation for this study is performed by a solution of the underlying meanfield Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equation in the rotating frame, where the wave function for the generated vortex lattice is a stationary state. Consequently, the imaginary-time propagation method can be used for a solution of the GP equation, known to lead to an accurate numerical solution. We also demonstrated the dynamical stability of the vortex lattices in real-time propagation upon a small change of the angular frequency of rotation, using the converged imaginary-time wave function as the initial state. We present new versions of the previously published C and CUDA programs for solving the dipolar Gross-Pitaevskii equation in one, two, and three spatial dimensions, which calculate stationary and non-stationary solutions by propagation in imaginary or real time. Presented programs are improved and parallelized versions of previous programs, divided into three packages according to the type of parallelization. First package contains improved and threaded version of sequential C programs using OpenMP. Second package additionally parallelizes three-dimensional variants of the OpenMP programs using MPI, allowing them to be run on distributed-memory systems. Finally, previous three-dimensional CUDA-parallelized programs are further parallelized using MPI, similarly as the OpenMP programs. We also present speedup test results obtained using new versions of programs in comparison with the previous sequential C and parallel CUDA programs. The improvements to the sequential version yield a speedup of 1.1 to 1.9, depending on the program. OpenMP parallelization yields further speedup of 2 to 12 on a 16-core workstation, while OpenMP/MPI version demonstrates a speedup of 11.5 to 16.5 on a computer cluster with 32 nodes used. A bound state of a proton, p, and its counterpart antiproton, $${\bar{\rm p}}$$ , is a protonium atom $${Pn = (\bar{\rm p} {\rm p})}$$ . The following three-charge-particle reaction: $${\bar{\rm p} +({\rm p} \mu^-)_{1s} \rightarrow (\bar{\rm p} \rm{p})_{1s} + \mu^-}$$ is considered in this work, where $${\mu^-}$$ is a muon. At low-energies muonic reaction $${Pn}$$ can be formed in the short range state with α = 1s or in the first excited state: α = 2s/2p, where $${\bar{\rm p}}$$ and p are placed close enough to each other and the effect of the $${\bar{\rm p}}$$ –p nuclear interaction becomes significantly stronger. The cross sections and rates of the Pn formation reaction are computed in the framework of a few-body approach based on the two-coupled Faddeev-Hahn-type (FH-type) equations. Unlike the original three-body Faddeev method the FH-type equation approach is formulated in terms of only two but relevant components: $${{\it \Psi}_1}$$ and $${\it \Psi_2}$$ , of the system’s three-body wave function $${\it \Psi}$$ , where $${{\it \Psi}={\it \Psi}_1+{\it \Psi}_2}$$ . In order to solve the FH-type equations $${\it \Psi_1}$$ is expanded in terms of the input channel target eigenfunctions, i.e. in this work in terms of the $${(\rm{p} \mu^-)}$$ eigenfunctions. At the same time $${\it \Psi_2}$$ is expanded in terms of the output channel two-body wave function, that is in terms of the protonium $${(\bar{\rm{p}} \rm{p})}$$ eigenfunctions. A total angular momentum projection procedure is performed, which leads to an infinite set of one-dimensional coupled integral–differential equations for unknown expansion coefficients.

We demonstrate stable and metastable vortex-bright solitons in a three-dimensional spin-orbit-coupled three-component hyperfine spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) using numerical solution and variational approximation of a mean-field model. The spin-orbit coupling provides attraction to form vortex-bright solitons in both attractive and repulsive spinor BECs. The ground state of these vortex-bright solitons is axially symmetric for weak polar interaction. For a sufficiently strong ferromagnetic interaction, we observe the emergence of a fully asymmetric vortex-bright soliton as the ground state. We also numerically investigate moving solitons. No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2017-12-01 We study spontaneous symmetry breaking (SSB), Josephson oscillation, and self-trapping in a stable, mobile, three-dimensional matter-wave spherical quantum ball self-bound by attractive two-body and repulsive three-body interactions. The SSB is realized by a parity-symmetric (a) one-dimensional (1D) double-well potential or (b) a 1D Gaussian potential, both along the z axis and no potential along the x and y axes. In the presence of each of these potentials, the symmetric ground state dynamically evolves into a doubly-degenerate SSB ground state. If the SSB ground state in the double well, predominantly located in the first well (z > 0), is given a small displacement, the quantum ball oscillates with a self-trapping in the first well. We present Open Multi-Processing (OpenMP) version of Fortran 90 programs for solving the Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equation for a Bose-Einstein condensate in one, two, and three spatial dimensions, optimized for use with GNU and Intel compilers. We use the split-step Crank-Nicolson algorithm for imaginary- and real-time propagation, which enables efficient calculation of stationary and non-stationary solutions, respectively. The present OpenMP programs are designed for computers with multi-core processors and optimized for compiling with both commercially-licensed Intel Fortran and popular free open-source GNU Fortran compiler. The programs are easy to use and are elaborated with helpful comments for the users. All input parameters are listed at the beginning of each program. No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2019-07-12 In a harmonically-trapped rotating Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC), a vortex of large angular momentum decays to multiple vortices of unit angular momentum from an energetic consideration. We demonstrate the formation of a robust and dynamically stable giant vortex of large angular momentum in a harmonically trapped rotating BEC with a potential hill at the center, thus forming a Mexican hat like trapping potential. For a small inter-atomic interaction strength, a highly controllable stable giant vortex appears, whose angular momentum slowly increases as the angular frequency of rotation is increased. As the inter-atomic interaction strength is increased beyond a critical value, only vortices of unit angular momentum are formed, unless the strength of the potential hill at the center is also increased: for a stronger potential hill at the center a giant vortex is again formed. The dynamical stability of the giant vortex is demonstrated by real-time propagation numerically. These giant vortices of large angular momentum can be observed and studied experimentally in a highly controlled fashion. No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2017-02-09 We study the statics and dynamics of a stable, mobile, three-dimensional matter-wave spherical quantum ball created in the presence of an attractive two-body and a very small repulsive three-body interaction. The quantum ball can propagate with a constant velocity in any direction in free space and its stability under a small perturbation is established numerically and variationally. In frontal head-on and angular collisions at large velocities two quantum balls behave like quantum solitons. Such collision is found to be quasielastic and the quantum balls emerge after collision without any change of direction of motion and velocity and with practically no deformation in shape. When reflected by a hard impenetrable plane, the quantum ball bounces off like a wave obeying the law of reflection without any change of shape or speed. However, in a collision at small velocities two quantum balls coalesce to form a larger ball which we call a quantum-ball breather. We point out the similarity and difference between the collision of two quantum and classical balls. The present study is based on an analytic variational approximation and a full numerical solution of the mean-field Gross-Pitaevskii equation using the parameters of Li7 atoms. No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2017-01-09 We study the vortex-bright solitons in a quasi-two-dimensional spin-orbit-coupled (SO-coupled) hyperfine spin-1 three-component Bose-Einstein condensate using variational method and numerical solution of a mean-field model. The ground state of these vortex-bright solitons is radially symmetric for weak ferromagnetic and polar interactions. For a sufficiently strong ferromagnetic interaction, we observe the emergence of an asymmetric vortex-bright soliton as the ground state. We also numerically investigate stable moving solitons and binary collision between them. The present mean-field model is not Galilean invariant, and we use a Galilean-transformed model for generating the moving solitons. At low velocities, the head-on collision between two in-phase solitons results either in collapse or fusion of the soliton pair. On the other hand, in head-on collision, the two out-of-phase solitons strongly repel each other and trace back their trajectories before the actual collision. At low velocities, in a collision with an impact parameter, the out-of-phase solitons get deflected from their original trajectory like two rigid classical disks. These out-of-phase solitons behave like classical disks, and their collision dynamics is governed by classical laws of motion. However, at large velocities two SO-coupled spinor solitons, irrespective of phase difference, can pass through each other in a head-on collision like two quantum solitons. We suggest a simple Gaussian Lagrangian variational scheme for the reduced time-dependent quasi-one- and quasi-two-dimensional Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equations of a dipolar Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) in cigar and disk configurations, respectively. The variational approximation for stationary states and breathing oscillation dynamics in reduced dimensions agrees well with the numerical solution of the GP equation even for moderately large short-range and dipolar nonlinearities. We study the propagation of anisotropic sound and shock waves in dipolar Bose-Einstein condensate in three dimensions (3D) as well as in quasi-two (2D, disk shape) and quasi-one (1D, cigar shape) dimensions using the mean-field approach. In 3D, the propagation of sound and shock waves are distinct in directions parallel and perpendicular to dipole axis with the appearance of instability above a critical value corresponding to attraction. Similar instability appears in 1D and not in 2D. The numerical anisotropic Mach angle agrees with theoretical prediction. The numerical sound velocity in all cases agrees with that calculated from Bogoliubov theory. By direct numerical simulation of the time-dependent Gross-Pitaevskii equation using the split-step Fourier spectral method we study the double-humped localization of a cigar-shaped Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) in a one-dimensional bichromatic quasi-periodic optical-lattice potential, as used in a recent experiment on the localization of a BEC [G. Roati et al., Nature 453, 895 (2008)]. Such states are spatially antisymmetric and are excited modes of Anderson localization. Where possible, we have compared the numerical results with a variational analysis. We also demonstrate the stability of the localized double-humped BEC states under small perturbation.

We present the actual state of affairs and future perspectives in the study of a quantum system of a collection of positronium (Ps) atoms. The interaction of a Ps atom with other atoms and molecules and specially with another Ps atom is described in some detail as Ps-Ps interaction should play a crucial role in the dynamics of an assembly of Ps atoms. Using a simple model-exchange potential, we could describe the available experimental results of Ps scattering reasonably well. The present scenario of the observation of Ps2 molecule, Ps Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) and the annihilation laser from a Ps BEC is presented. We demonstrate robust, stable, mobile two-dimensional (2D) dipolar ring-dark-in-bright (RDB) Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) solitons for repulsive contact interaction, subject to a harmonic trap along the $y$ direction perpendicular to the polarization direction $z$. Such a RDB soliton has a ring-shaped notch (zero in density) imprinted on a 2D bright soliton free to move in the $x-z$ plane. At medium velocity the head-on collision of two such solitons is found to be quasi elastic with practically no deformation. The possibility of creating the RDB soliton by phase imprinting is demonstrated. We present hybrid OpenMP/MPI (Open Multi-Processing/Message Passing Interface) parallelized versions of earlier published C programs (D. Vudragovic et al., Comput. Phys. Commun. 183, 2021 (2012)) for calculating both stationary and non-stationary solutions of the time-dependent Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equation in three spatial dimensions. The GP equation describes the properties of dilute Bose-Einstein condensates at ultra-cold temperatures. Hybrid versions of programs use the same algorithms as the C ones, involving real- and imaginary-time propagation based on a split-step Crank-Nicolson method, but consider only a fully-anisotropic three-dimensional GP equation, where algorithmic complexity for large grid sizes necessitates parallelization in order to reduce execution time and/or memory requirements per node. Since distributed memory approach is required to address the latter, we combine MPI programing paradigm with existing OpenMP codes, thus creating fully flexible parallelism within a combined distributed/shared memory model, suitable for different modern computer architectures. The two presented C/OpenMP/MPI programs for real- and imaginary-time propagation are optimized and accompanied by a customizable makefile. We present typical scalability results for the provided OpenMP/MPI codes and demonstrate almost linear speedup until inter-process communication time starts to dominate over calculation time per iteration. In this paper we present new versions of previously published numerical programs for solving the dipolar Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equation including the contact interaction in two and three spatial dimensions in imaginary and in real time, yielding both stationary and non-stationary solutions. New versions of programs were developed using CUDA toolkit and can make use of Nvidia GPU devices. The algorithm used is the same split-step semi-implicit Crank-Nicolson method as in the previous version (R. Kishor Kumar et al., Comput. Phys. Commun. 195, 117 (2015)), which is here implemented as a series of CUDA kernels that compute the solution on the GPU. In addition, the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) library used in the previous version is replaced by cuFFT library, which works on CUDA-enabled GPUs. The input in the previous versions of programs was the mathematical quantity nonlinearity for dimensionless form of Gross-Pitaevskii equation, whereas in the present programs the inputs are quantities of experimental interest, such as, number of atoms, scattering length, oscillator length for the trap, etc. New output files for some integrated one- and two-dimensional densities of experimental interest are given.
